Backcovers? Any shop known? - LG V20 Accessories

Like written in the topic.
Does anybody know a shop were it is possible to buy LG v20 backcovers?
I found a seller on eBay but only verizon branded. I'd like to have a clean one (LG brand is OK).
My plan is to laseringrave my own personalised theme.
So pleas give me a link.
Best regards from Germany

Nillkin Frosted Shield Matte Plastic Ultra Thin Slim Light Fit Case. Check that out on amazon. It is slim, looks classy and premium.

I think the OP is referring to the original back cover attached to the phone chassis, not a protective cover or case.

Rubiicon is totally right.
I talked about the batterycover that u can take off.
I found one on eBay but it has the verizon logo on it. I'm searching for a blank one or whit LG logo only.

For some silly reason, I wanted a pink phone (tired of black or silver). I find the brow and chin. http://www.ebay.com/itm/272609599251 , Does anybody think I can grab a Verizon LG V20 back cover, sand it and painting it a matching pink?

The verizon logo seams to be laser engraved. Don't know how far u have to sand it till its totally gone. And is the texture also the same like the backcover.

Idk how much time you have on your hands. BUT possible anodize the back door.
Thats my current project. I have all 3 main bezel parts soaking in Dye. Hoping in 3 weeks when I pull them out they were able to seep deep enough under the external anodizing seal layer (DOUBTFUL) If not then Im gonna attempt to anodize all three (Will have to replace the NFC ring on the back door). I hesitate because the sealing process requires you to boil the parts for 15 mins after anodizing, and the top and bottom bezel have plastic and I dont know the melting temp of this plastic. But only $40 project that will give me knowledge for the future.

@DarkestSpawn
I like your initiative, that's exactly the kind of thing I would try.
Experimentation is educational and fun. Even better if it's successful.
Be wary of boiling the plastic parts, they probably won't take much more than 60°C before deforming.
Good luck with your project, make sure you update here with your results.

An other user in an older backcoversection found covers without verizon logo. It has the b&o brand but this is much better then verizon

Well, soaking in dye was a negative. Tried doing a thin layer of spray paint, parts would line up right felt weird, now I have a thin vinyl skin on it. PAIN IN THE ASS to install perfectly(see attachments) in which case I didn't do it perfect. The door is ridiculous to get a good alignment. I'm gonna see with these extra useless spare painted parts if I can remove the plastic without damaging, if yes then I'll attempt the anodizing. Otherwise hoping the v30 will be spec wise way better, still metal, still a removable battery, and anodized blue lol.

Lmao!
At least you tried. The rear cover looks OK, can't really tell much in the 2nd pic.
Good luck getting LG to release a blue V30

After some talk with co-workers, I was very cautious with an exact-o knife to trim a very small hang over portion around the camera ring, finger print power ring and sides, and used the spare bottom bezel skin, Its now done very well and am extremely happy with it.
The link is below if anyone wants to look at options.

I would have just used a Dbrand skin I have one on my XPS 15 and it works great. Last I checked they make them for the V20.

Atrix Back cover

Since the back cover for the Atrix is one piece and actually covers the sides as well, i was wondering if these can be made out of carbonfiber. Anyone have the hookup on someone that can make custom CF parts?
Getting a case that snaps around this seems counter intuitive. You'd think the incipio and spek cases would just be replacement covers.

I was on some website, I cant remember and they had other backcovers on pre-order for $20.... They all looked like a rubberized material with a sort of carbon fiber design and each had a motorola symbol in the center. Either blue, green or pink.
I believe it was MobileCity Online or something like that. Definitely only preorder status right now.
I agree the back is waaaay too slippery. I feel like I am going to drop it while typing. I am holding out for Powermat to release a back to use with the charging pad. If not, I might opt for the soft rubber battery covers.
Interesting. I'd like to get an extra one to use as a template. I think i got someone lined up for carbon fiber but i'd need to give them a template that wouldnt survive. I also have to make a minimum order of like 50, which i'd toss up on Ebay.
i'd be down for a couple if you could post some shots of what it would look like...since it does wrap around the corners it would slim down the phone too (versus case)...

I would so buy one.
I have no idea how much these are going to cost me and i wont know until i can give them a battery cover to work with.
Honestly, if i have to get 50 made (they estimated 50-100), i wouldnt do it unless the price i could sell them for was about $40. Regular cases are around $30 so $40 would be a great price. Most CF cases are grossly overpriced and i'd like to avoid that.
Also, this would be a replacement for the battery cover. It wouldn't be a case so it would still work in the docking stations.
I seriously doubt you'll ever see a carbon or any other compost back. There is just no way to mold in the little clips that hold the back on. So plastic is your only bet. you can't even wrap in carbon because you need to fold the material over the edge for a good hold, and doing so would block the locking clips.
I'm trying my hand at covering the back in 3M DI-NOC (carbon fiber looking vinyl), which should give it some grip.
I have no experience with CF but those little tabs may be moldable (is that even a word??). Ill continue to investigate. If it doesnt work, i lost nothing.
If you get that Dinoc on post some pics up here. I'd be interested to see how it holds up around the corners since it cannot be folded back inside due to very small tolerances between the phone and the cover.
having a little experience with molding and CF, it will be so hard to get a good piece with the proper mounting tabs, you'll have more scrap than good pieces. Not to mention that when it's that thin, it will probably snap after a few uses (mounting clips, not cover). CF isn't some magical material you can will into any shape like you can melted plastic. To mold in the locking tabs means the piece would be "clipped" into the mold upon completion, not a desirable situation.
I will post if i get the DI-NOC to look presentable. I know a few places sell pre-cut DI-NOC protectors, but those don't cover 100% of the phone.
Your experience with CF is a lot more than mine, so ill take your word for it, but i will still investigate because it wont cost me anything. If it works, great.
The only thing i'll put on mine is a very thin "sticker" or nothing. A case isnt going to work for me as i will be using a dock. It seems stupid to think that companies made a case when all they had to do was replicate the battery cover and then market this as "Hey look, our solution works with your dock."

Hey, if you can get it done, then more power to you, just trying to make sure you have a realistic outlook going in.
I'm betting companies don't make just backs because the design is 'proprietary' to the manufacturer.

I didnt even think of that! Surely there is some Chinese company chomping at the bit to make some cash.
EDIT
A clear acrylic battery cover would look cool. Show the insides a bit. And that will SURELY be cheaper than CF.
Im full of ideas today.
I apparently fail at vinyl. I can't get it to wrap the corners nicely, the stuff is too thick.

That **** is ROUGH, let me tell you.... I have done rear view mirrors (not side view, the interior ones) and man I thought all 11 years experience I've had doing vinyl was a damn joke! I gave up on even starting the back panel, check out the thread I just created for the carbon fiber front and sides, not to mention the back panel with REMOVED AT&T logo, REMOVED "HD VIDEO" text, and the "blur" in Moto blur....

Atrix Back Cover Different Colors

Wondering if anyone would be interested in having their back cover in a different color? I can paint them and clear coat them professionally just about any color you would want.
If anyone is interested let me know here or PM me.
I'm located in Chicago. I will charge $18.00 shipping included.
If I get enough interest I will buy some OEM covers and have them painted once the order is placed. You can send me your cover or I can provide one and you ship yours back to me when you receive mine.
Will work it out.....
Will the paint be flexible enough to stay adhered when we bend the cover to access the battery/sim card, etc? This is $18 including the OEM cover cost or not?
Any samples? I'm reluctant to do this without seeing a finished product first.
yea one sample would be nice
I wanted to see how much interest before I went painting my own. Three people won't make it worth while for me. I know if I show a sample I may get more interest so I will look for a cover to work on than post.
I don't want to use my won in case I decide to return it within 30 days.
I will get back to this post as soon as I locate a cover.
Thanks.
how bout a pic
I would be interested in this as well, provided I can see a sample
I want to see a sample first!

i wouldn't expect it to include the cover cost. that would leave him in the negative after shipping charges, which doesn't make much sense.
Is this thread dead or what? Does anyone know what materials I would need to go about doing this myself? I don't know much about paint types and clear coats and the likes...
Even a good forum about that stuff would be a good start
if you have the time to coat the original battery door in plasti-dip its really sick! i did it to mine and its all rubbery and looks amazing with the two tone black on the sides. then i put one of those $2 mesh covers from ebay with it(in white), boy is it sexy!
a can of sprayable plasti-dip from a hardware store is like 5 bucks and comes in different colors
also note its probably wayyyyy different than what this guy is suggesting.
Got pics??????????????

Yeah pics would be nice. Did it paint well? Like do you have to worry about scratching it off or anything? I'm confused that you say it's rubbery...
well its rubbery because that is the nature of plasti-dip (its meant for coating tools to give them grip)
i spent a week with it on but we had a really hot day and it bubbled / ripped after taking it in and out of my pocket. gonna give it another go today with multiple coats. will post pics after and tell you guys how it goes. ( only did 1 heavy coat before)
theres another thread on XDA about rubberizing the covers somewhere (my friend did his nexus S, g2x, and mytouch 4g)
here are the pics with and without the mesh.
this coat/attempt seems alot more stable, scratched at it with my fingernail and got nothing off (aggressively). take that as you will.

does anyone know what the back is made out of?

I ran into a little bit of a problem last night. I have the extended battery (extra door included) and so I thought I'd modify a little and give it a matte finish and also to try to get that ugly Verizon 4G symbol off it. So I first tried wet blasting turned down to 5 psi. because I was sure it would just eat a hole right through it but it surprisingly did not. even when we turned it up to 30 psi. it was still not affecting the texture of the battery door. So I then tried to rub it with 80 grit sandpaper by hand which has been successful but also is a lot of work for something I thought was made of plastic. Then it hit me, maybe it's not plastic, maybe it's carbon fiber. which would explain it's resistance to force. So the question is, does anyone know for sure what it is made from? I just thought it'l be kinda wild because that would definitely debunk the theory that Samsung makes their phones out of cheap plastic. also the door is extremely flexible which is another very specific characteristic of carbon fiber. Just a thought though...

I know they call it a "hyper skin" but I don't know what it is specifcally made off. I think your mad trying to get the branding off yourself. Could you not buy an unbranded cover on ebay or something. Anyhow good luck.
its common to use a sugar cube to grind branding off phones. anyway i think the cover is some new polycarbonate material like the nokia n9, samsung calls it their new hyper skin.
It's plastic.

I guess I could of bought 1 online somewhere but then where would the fun in that be? Plus i got an extra 1850 mAh battery so im not losing anything. I will say that whatever its made of is really tough stuff if it can withstand a wetblaster that we use at work to blast titanium parts. And I have never seen plastic do that. It could be Polycarbonate but we have that stuff at work and its not as flexible as this is.

One major flaw, it leaves the camera lens exposed so that it can be scratched every time you put your phone down. Would need a quick Sugru mod.
It looks like you could rub the logo off
i bought this on amazon for $6.99 its not bad. was kinda my last resort as i was looking for something to match my pebble blue but theres nothing out there that did so i went for utility. its definitely has more grip than OEM but not by much. its a soft touch type material. fits just like an oem though. more rigid too

Manufacturers need to make more of an effort if they insist on stamping their logos on the back of their parts? Especially when the logo looks like it was designed in about 3 minutes by a 12 year old....
O.P! Check out my camera mod! Hope this can be useful with your rubberized cover.

Got the same battery cover myself. It doesn't provide more grip in all situations, but definitely provides more "feel" and less slippery than the original one as it's not gloss. What I mean by all situations is that most of the time I don't have a problem gripping the original gloss back, but it definitely becomes harder to grip (slippery) when my hands are too dry or have a little dust/dirt on them.
Every review and picture I've seen of this case has it fitting perfectly and snuggly like the Samsung original battery cover. However, mine is a little bit off. Seems the tolerance on the tabs are just a bit off and won't fit completely on my S3. Some of the corners won't 'snap' to latch and there's a noticeable gap along the edge. Doesn't feel like it will fall off but you can see it. I ordered through Amazon and will be returning this one to them. I did order the exact same case again from Amazon to see if the tolerance on that one is any better. If it fits well, I am definitely keeping it.
The case makes the phone feel more solid. There is no give/bending/etc on it at all when pressing along the back. Again the biggest complaint is the company logo. I've remedied this somewhat by darkening the logo with some flat black paint. I used a paint pen so it was pretty simple to do without it bleeding onto the rubberized part. You could probably do the same with a Sharpie to make the logo stand out less.
Would be really sweet to get my hands on 2 covers. Any tips on how to buy them or getting them transported to sweden?
Many thanks!
looks good

Backplate Replacement

So I've had the OF-7 for a few days now, and so far, my only complaint with the larger than normal ("Normal" being a Nexus 5 for me) screen size for me is the texture of the backplate. Its too smooth, and with the weight, it feels unsafe. I pre-ordered, so they sent me the flip cover which actually feels a lot better in the hand..
Unfortunately I take a lot of videos, so when the flip cover is open and I'm taking video, it gets in the way of the video. Does anyone know where I can buy another backplate that has a better texture to it than the stock smooth one? Thank in advance!

Well, the OnePlus is essentially the same device and its getting backplate alternatives, so we could see that coming to the Find 7 in the near future, but i don't know. Or maybe some third-party company starts to make them, like dBrand for example.

I thought the same about the stock backplate. I loved the feel of the Easy Cover but I don't like flip covers. So I cut the flip part of the cover off. Just cut the flip part along the crease where it naturally folds over. Then, using a nice sharp pair of scissors, Trim the remaining faux leather so it is flush with the plastic edge underneath. The side with the volume rocker has the plastic underneath the faux leather extending past the side of the phone. Just use some sand paper to make it flush with the part that is indented to accommodate the volume rocker. I found that the plastic overhang was reducing faster than the faux leather. Just sand some of the plastic then use the scissors to cut it flush again and continue until the plastic overhang is gone and flush with the sides of the phone. Then you might want to rough up the plastic edge on the power button side. This makes both sides uniform and gives better grip. When everything looks nice and flush use a lighter to melt any frayed faux leather. It probably took me 30 mins because I was a little obsessed with making it look nice. The end result is that it's flush with the left and right sides. It doesn't look hacked together at all. The only asymmetry is that the side that had the flip doesn't have stitching. I've attached pictures. Hopefully it works since I have less than 10 posts.
Wow, that's really well done Doc!
Might have myself a little weekend project here.
I'm really waiting for a thin case like Spigen or Incipio make for the Galaxy series. Nice matte feel for better grip and very thin.
the tchichs
Thnaks, I'm happy with the results. Almost everyone who I've shown my new telephonic smart device to has commented on how good the backplate feels. Give it a try. I'm not super craftsy or anything so anybody should be able to do it. The most tedious part was sanding down the lip on the volume rocker side. I used coarse grit sandpaper but if you had a rotary tool it would go much faster.

The Find 7 Premium has the carbon fiber back-plate. That is suppose to feel more secure. Maybe you can get it already somehow from China.
I have been able to shoot video with the flipcover, ARe you sure you can't acclimate to it? It's also not a bad idea in the protection department.
If you tilt your phone to the right instead of the left and hold the cover closed from the bottom it's not too awkward (for me anyway).
The white back actually has a really nice texture and is not as slippery as the black one. I actually want to see about ordering a replacement but in black. I think it would look cool, black front, white middle molding and black back I hope they start to sell just the backs. I emailed Oppstyle about it. Hopefully they will sell me a black one
I have the white back and still thought it was a little too slippery. I bought a black Nillkin case and Nillkin glass screen protector. The case is a nice textured softouch plastic. It fits great does not add much girth and no more slipperiness. Looks great with white peaking through the speaker and camera cutouts.

The glass protector went on easy but I had a bubble that I could not get out. After 2 days the bubble went away with occasional rubbing. Glass feels great but shows fingerprint oil more than stock. I don't like the ear piece/sensor cut out, I would have preferred a separate cut out for each. Seems kind of stupid putting glass on to protect gorilla glass butt people always loved the glass protectors so I thought I would try it. Since the case and protector came to $19 together, what the heck, give it a try. Shipping from China to SoCal was about 10days..

Most people have reported that it has very little to no effect. I've barely used the front camera but I just looked at it and it looked fine to me.
Have anyone found a Place to order replacement back covers, I bought a midnight but would like to try the white and carbonfiber backcover to. Don't have the phone right now as I had to send it back to Oppostyle to get it replaced, but they still don't have any stock. Asked them about getting carbonfiber or white back covers, they checked with Oppo and they answered that they had no plans to sell back covers seperately.

Kedros is doing a mass / bulk order of fake-carbon / third-party back covers over at the official oppo forums right now.
If you want to snatch a carbon look-a-like cover, or simply midnight / white spares, thats the place you got to go.
Kedros charges 4.80€ per cover + 1€ shipping (china international) + 5% paypal fees.
Don't think you will find it any cheaper elsewhere.

Yeah for some reason I can't register through the web.
Use tapatalk and search for oppo, there you can register for an account
Same problem from tapatalk, it just opens the browser to register for me.

I downloaded the app, and that's how I got an account in.
I would love one with a sandstone texture like the OnePlus One.
