Nexus 5X bootloop - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I was watching YouTube when my phone froze and wouldn't respond. I detached the battery and reset it but it would freeze on the 'Installing update' screen even though I didn't try to update the phone. I wiped the cache and data but now it just gets stuck on the 'Google' boot screen.
I can get into the fastboot and recovery modes but the phone won't connect to the PC to allow me to try to sideload. In device manager it appears as "Android" with an exclamation mark next to it. I've tried wiping every instance of Google's drivers and tried both Google and LG drivers but neither seem to work.
I can get it to detect the phone in LGUP using download mode but my phone is H798 and I don't want to go flashing H791 TOT files if it's going to brick the phone. I also want to make sure it's a hardware bootloop before trying the hair dryer method.
Any help appreciated,
Thanks.

my nexus5x randomly shut off and now its completely bricked.
cant acces TWRP and have tried installing stock files but it doesn't seem to work.
Have you found a solution yet?
Anyone know any options?

[q] [help/rescue] possible brick/softbrick

My friend has the toro(Verizon) variant of the Galaxy Nexus. One day it rebooted and barely can get past the nexus boot animation... and sort of bootloops. Sometimes after a battery pull it gets as far as the selecting english language screen but does not let me even press the button, and after a few seconds just reboots. I took the phone in order to try and help him revive it and during some processes with ODIN i now am stuck on the infamous {phone...yellow triangle...pc} screen. No other mode accessible, i'm positive of it. No download mode, no fastboot, nothing but the {phone...triangle...pc} screen. Some refer to this screen as a "soft brick" however, every method ive tried to remedy this that has worked for others has not worked. I have tried flashing the ODIN PDA and PHONE files. adb, and toolkit will not work because usb debugging is not accessible. However ODIN still recognizes the device. I've read about an OMAP flashing but i couldnt figure out how to go about doing this... BTW his phone was never rooted, just stock Android. Is there a possibility that this screen can show up due to a hardware failure?(motherboard, cpu, etc.)
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this besides all the methods on the popular forums?

[Q] Problems with Galaxy Nexus please help :o

The Gnex became very slow and there were apps and processes constantly crashing.
Did a factory reset, and the phone got bricked. The screen was just black, it didn't show a sign of life, not even the google logo.
Then I tried to unbrick it with OMAP flash or something, then it booted, showed the google logo, and then the nexus logo.
Then it crashed and rebooted.
I tried reflashing the stock rom using odin.
That didn't do a thing.
Next, I installed TWRP recovery and installed Cyanogenmod and Gapps.
And its still in bootloop.
I don't know what to do now, please help me!!
Is it still fixable??
Thanks in advance

"Did a factory reset, and the phone got bricked. The screen was just black, it didn't show a sign of life, not even the google logo." - Why did you think it was "bricked"? Did the battery die? Also, why did you use OMAPflash before trying to recover the device with fastboot/factory images (or even odin)?
That said...
Are you 100% sure it flashed TWRP? Did you wipe data/factory reset before flashing CM/Gapps?
Anyways... boot to fastboot (device turned off, hold down both vol keys+power until you see the android flying, big "START" letters at the top, small letters on the lower left corner), then flash factory images. Don't use any toolkits, learn fastboot if you have too.
Wel,I thought the phone was bricked because it wouldn't boot up properly. I tried omap flash because it was the first thing I found about fixing a bricked Samsung. I know the bith volume Keys + power but the phone wouldn't do anything. It didn't even boot in fastboot.

Nexus 7 soft bricked. Can boot into fastboot, stock recovery, but can't see over ADB

I vaguely recall messing with build.prop a while back, but it seemed to reboot and work fine after that (I added some lines from xiaomi's miui to see if I could convince it to install some Xiaomi only apps. ) So that may or may not be related.
Battery drained to 0% a day or two ago. Went to boot it up.
Google logo and unlocked bootloader symbol, then nothing. Just hangs on a black screen with the backlight on forever.
I can reboot into fastboot mode, recover, clear cash, and so on. However when I plug it into USB it is not recognized as an adb or fastboot device... I also can't get it to appear as a mobile device. Just nothing.
How do I flash a stock image onto the device If the device isn't recognized? Any ideas?
By the way, nexus 7 2013 wifi with version 6.0.0 MRA56k. I never installed the 6.0.1 update as I was rooted. :crying:
Never mind, fixed with Wugs force flash. Not before trying a stock/flash in recovery and whiping user data first like a dumbass though. Uhg. It's going to be a long day.

V521 bricked

So far, I decided since my tablet was running slower than it did when I first got it, to reset it. And since I was doing that, might as well unlock the bootloader.
Well, I unlocked the device, attempted to install TWRP, then got the remote failed error, unknown command. Apparently you have to install it via flashify or whatever. Anyhow...
I rebooted the device, but now, all it does is go into recovery, shows the android robot on its side for a split second, then starts flashing white then black on the screen. The only way to stop it is to pull off the battery connector.
The LG mobile tool can see it in download mode, send it the latest kdz image or whatever, works, but still goes back to the same error - boots to recovery then hangs.
Is there a way to fix this? Trying to get it to boot a recovery img didn't work. Erasing all data seemed to have done nothing.
Did you ever unbrick it...?

Stuck in bootloop after uninstall magisk... Samsung s20

So i tried to unroot my phone via magisk...and it just ****ed me it seems.
It bootloops with first the "this phones bootloader is unlocked..." and then samsung logo with the warning triangle about it not running official samsung software etc.
I cant boot into download mode by going into recovery (it gets stuck on starting fastboot ( the red text )). And i cant hold up and down volume + usb cable to go straight into download either.
after none of these things worked i tried clear cache and wipe data/factory reset with no luck.
i also tried reinstalling magisk from the zip on SD card but got some error and nothing changed.
Am i dooomed? Any tips will be sooo insanely appreciated!

ok... i tried another usb cable and it worked getting into download mode. Now i just gotta find the easiest way to get the phone back to stock.
I have the same problem here with my Ultra S20. How did you fix it?? Mine's been stuck all day.. I can get to the recovery menu but not to the download mode.
This happened to me too. I just reflashed the stock firmware and rooted it again etc. It was the only way i could get it back working again.
Install TWRP........
Would have saved your ass.
Also, forndownload mode AND to enter TWRP, use a decent usb cable connected to a computer or laptop.
