Nougat .. kernels and datafixes anyone? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have finally been able to flash a few Nougat ROMS on my N910V. I have NOT been able to flash any trltevzw ROMS but instead a few trltemo and trltexx ROMS. However when I flashed them and set them up I can get wifi but NO data. I was curious if ANYONE has any kernels and or data fixes for Nougat ROMS and if so maybe a link to share? I odin'd the corresponding TWRP to flash these ROMS, so would I need a kernel and or data fix for thetrltexx ROM or trltemo ROM .. OR would a kernel and or datafix for the actual trltevzw phone I have. Sorry if this doesn't make sense typing fast as im at work.
FORGOT the S8+ will be available in 12 hours and im most likely getting one as im sure a lot of other XDA folks will ... and then the Note 4 will drop lower on the list of active phones and ROMS.

What roms can be used with the T999v?

I've been going all around the forum not being able to figure out what ROMS and kernels will work with T999v Wind version of the S3. I bricked my phone once already by installing the wrong kernel, so I don't wanna mess around again too much without knowing what roms and kernels are working. I've read around that we can flash T-mobile roms as long as they don't contain radio files. I also read on another thread that as long as the boot, modem and amss files aren't in the rom, we're good to go. Now I'm pretty new to the Android community so I'd like some help before I have another disaster on my hands.
Thanks.
*Disclaimer: I am not a Wind user so don't quote me on this but...
I don't believe any of the custom roms in the T Mobile dev forum come with radios. Except for the stock images made to flash with Odin. The main thing to remember as far as kernels go, if you flash a touchwiz rom you need a touchwiz (or stock) kernel. If you flash an AOSP rom you need an AOSP kernel or you will be stuck in a bootloop.
BTW, this rom has been confirmed working on Wind Mobile.
Thanks. Now I had a question about kernels. They still need to be for the T-Mobile version of the phone right? As long as that's true I shouldn't really have a problem using the kernel?

Yes, I believe you will be fine with any T Mobile specific kernels. Still, the important thing before flashing anything is to make sure you make a backup just in case.
That rom will work fine.

I'm on a Wind GS3 and I'm currently using FreeGS3 R5 with Trinity Alpha 19 kernel. Works great.
edit: Just updated to R6, still great.

goi g from 4.1.2 to 4.4.4 aosp Rom

So I took a long break from flashing my phone. I just want to get a newer stock android Rom on the phone. Not touchwiz Rom. Do I just download and flash the Rom? Up to date bootloader just for touchwiz based Rom correct?
All I know is I have 4.1.2 now. I317m. It's rooted of course and some kind of custom Rom. It's been a loong time
If you go on Cyanogenmod's website they have a installer that is really easy
I don't have a computer access right now. Or very often at all.
Also if I go to a kitkat touchwiz Rom I just have to flash the proper kernel for wifi to work? Is this consistent across all Roms I'd be looking to flash?

MM modem and baseband

Ok lets see if I can make sense of all this and get some help if possible. First I have tried almost ever ROM made for the snapdragon Note 4. I have a snapdragon system and none of the snapdragon roms work even if for the 910F Note 4. There was one or two but I never took the notes I should have to confirm and or deny worked. Now I see there is a way to flash the MM baseband and modem ... and I think it reverts you back to stock or need to be on stock, then you can reflash ROM's to get MM modem and still use 6.0.1 ROM's??? I have been running kyubi rom ... its nice but haven't feel in love with it. as of now AGAIN once it drops past 25% battery no matter what it drops when charging then I have to pull the battery and try to charge my battery. Ok that was off toping sorta ... my question is cant we just odin the newer MM modem and whatever on our rooted retail note 4 converted to dev edition? if so .. how? this is the process (( http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...t/howto-bootloader-unlock-upgrade-to-t3398144 )) and maybe I have read too many posts and pages of rom info and blah blah ... im so confused at this point. yeah I have no idea what im actually asking now that im re reading this slop of a post. how can I get MM baseband and modem on my Retail note 4 converted to dev edition? if I can get this done with this help with the roms that are MM and don't work with this 910V? because a lot of them require a data fix ... WHAT CAN I DO ?????
Your link... that's how you do it.
That will give you access to three ROMs that are based on Marshmallow: Jasmine, CM13 and PaulPizz, all ROMs developed for the N910V. louforgiveno has a data fix which, if I understand correctly, will give you access to N910F ROMs that are based on Marshmallow. I haven't heard yet how that has worked out yet.
The key is to determine the ROM base. It is possible for a Marshmallow ROM to be based on Lollipop. CM13 was like that until last week. Dr Ketan's ROM over on the N910F/G side is another. Once you get an unlocked Marshmallow bootloader, you'll need to do your homework before you install custom ROMs.

Installing custom ROM on D855

Hi,
Now I'm running stock v30c rooted by king root and hacer permissivo(one of the method available on xda). I've flashed twrp by autorec.
My question is:
Should I know something before flashing custom rom? I read somewhere that some of roms need v21c modem, and other have no information about it. But I'm not sure if I should flashing this.
Basically I'm thinking right now about custom stock based roms.
One more, I see that some roms supporting CTT(AFAIK it's something about keep the phone cooled, am I right?). Is it supported by every kernel? Including stock one?
I'm coming from G2 and there were quite easier with everything .
Thanks for every answer.

If you are planning to flash stock based roms you don't need to do anything else including flashing the baseband. Only aosp based roms need 21C baseband. So if you flash a aosp based rom remember to flash 21C along with it.
The ctt mod works on most kernels including stock but you don't necessarily need to use it until when you feel uncomfortable temperature.

No sim with lineage based roms

Hi, i need some advice about this problem, bcz i searched that a lot but i cdnt find anu solution. Any Lineage based roms, like Viperos, Strelka, Ressurection Remix, Aokp rom etc (Any 7.x.x too i guess) doesnt work well on my n7100. Im flashing them and they are booting fine too, But when the screen came on, they says no sim, when i checked about device i dont see any info about modem. But imei is not erasing. Boot loader mj5, modem nd3 (i just changed it mj7 modem but still same) . When i flash stock rom or Hyper rom or any 4.x.x based rom works fine. I cdnt find any solution bcz i tried everything. Anyone can give me an idea about this ? bcz i stuck with 4.4.x roms. Thanks..
Is the phone running the latest by bootloader and modem? Some custom ROMs require a phone that is running the latest version of both.

Yes , found latest ones in here and flashed some time ago.
Did you update the bootloader and modem by flashing the latest stock rom or just the bootloader and modem? Not sure if this would make a difference.

I tried both way. Stock rom and 4.4.x based custom roms works fine. They were working fine with older modem and bootloader too. I tried to flash lineage based custom roms on working stock rom and custom 4.4.x too, w/o wipe. They did same thing, everything works fine just no sim silly right ?
Very strange that the sim is not detected. I don't have a note 2 to try out Lineage.
Did you post your question in the the ROM's thread in the Development Forum? Perhaps someone there could offer some more advice.

Yep its strange, i guess the real problem is those roms doesnt see what modem i have in device, bcz they are not showing that in about device. Thanks anyway, at least you tried to give some ideas
I didnt post my question in the rom's thread, let me try it.
