Whats the best rom+kernel for battery life? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tell yours!
Is stock + franco the best choise?

I enjoy my PureNexus + Elemental X

Stock with Franco has been the best for me on pretty much every device I've owned that Franco has blessed with his amazing kernel.

Dirty unicorns , about kernel Im not sure

I recommend ElementalX. but Franco kernel is also good. you cant go wrong just pick one of those two

saosp + jolla 4h sot ez

Stock + stock with big cluster set to 1440 and gpu to 300

At this time i use the Pure Nexus Rom and the Elemental X Kernel. I'm not so happy with the Franco Kernel and the App Profiles. Maybe i'm toll stupid for this, nur i have bad Performance.

[Q] bullet kernel or faux kernel

Running Juggernaut 4.1.
Which one saves more battery? Bullet kernel or faux kernel
From personal experience, flashing the newest version of the synergy has increased my battery life to levels greater than both the bullet kernel and the faux kernel. Additionally, if you want the best battery life, go with Bombaridier v3.0 - truly amazing battery.
I agree. I get amazing battery with synergy. Faux's kernel is really good, but one of his, the ultimate one overclocks the gpu. That causes faster battery drain.

Franco vs Trinity

Hi.. Maybe inapropriate topic but :
According to your experience, which one is better kernel in global ?
For battery and global ?
I hope that kernel devs of both kernels are not insulted with this topic.
Thanks in advacne
In MY experience Franco gave me the most battery life and stability. My phone loves Franco(CDMA). Ones not better then the other. Just depends which one your phone loves better.
Actually i love both kernels and changing them time after time. While Franco kernel feels a bit snappier, Trinity gives me better battery life and seems to be a bit more stable.
IMO both kernels are great but I prefer faux123's kernel.
I prefer trinity over any other kernel out there.
best performance and battery life for me
btw I'm using the one with 1382 cpu, 512 gpu for cm9 kang(any kernel).

[Q] Best Kernel Performances?

Hey Guys!
Okay, like the title questions - Which is the best kernel out there?
Please specify in terms of battery life / performance / speed etc.
I've used franco and Popcorn till now, both are great but I must admit that the battery life on the franco kernel is better whereas the screen looks better on popcorn due to that different colour management thing the Dev uses.
Well , There is not clear answer on what the best kernel is for everyone , actually the most populer kernel in xda develepers are Franco kernel and james bond kernel , I go back to stock rom and I've been using stock rom and it's 4.0.2 , that's why and Franco kernel doesn't support 4.0.2 , I choose james bond kernel and I'm happy with it

i`ve tested all available kernels in the last days and have to say morfic`s latest trinity test kernel called aelp works best for me. good battery life on standby, in use and smooth in every situation.
Franco for me. Your milage is going to vary. Try them all until you find the one that works best for your phone.

Best ROM/Kernal for speed and stability

Hey guys I have tried the HD ROM, Beastless bug and I am currently on liquid ROM. so far the liquid I have liked the best but it is just too buggy with apps closing constantly and other weird things happening. What do you guys suggest for speed and reliability? Thanks heaps for any suggestions
I'm running Manhattan ROM IC120 with its standard kernel (leankernel) for almost as long as the ROM has existed and it has yet to fail me, very stable, very fast but low quadrants (which doesn't mean anything in the end). I recommend you give it a try
I'm with AOKP (The most common ROM) with Franco kernel and my phone is blazingly fast. No lockups, no reboots. EXCELLENT 34+ hours battery life, not kidding
I have tried many ROMS & kernels last few weeks, I achieve the best results with AOKP b27 & franco.Kernel r66 and r94, the latter slightly faster.
Manhattan, OAKP M4 (and build previous to b27), Apex / Trinity, Leankernel, franco.Kernel, GlaDOS. Glados had best screen on time, bust wasn't utterly fast. Trinity is FAST, but not so good battery life when screen is on.
I love alle the customization options in OAKP, and b27 turned out best for me.
My experience with the kernels, from good for battery (screen on!!) to fast:
- GlaDOS
- Leankernel
- franco.Kernel
- Trinity
No Nexus is the same, so YMMV
I am on 3G mostly, and most of the time is spent browsing. The OAKP b27 & franco.Kernel r94 gives me both good battery life for browsing a lot and a fast and stable combo.
Thanks heaps for the replies guys. I have flashed AOKP and it is awesome, liking it very much. To flash Franco Kernal now do I just install it through recovery like I did with the ROM?
Yes mate, get the cwm flashable zips from Francisco's thread. Then flash the zip through cwm recovery
And drink a coffee/ beer less and spent the money on franco.Kernel updater app, it's AWESOME and let's you change pretty much anything related to his kernels.
Ok thanks, have done both . Phone is flying now and I love the mods and kernal.
And you was asking for KERNEL not KERNAL !!!
franco
I recommend Franco kernel updater app. It has many handy setting ( USB fast charge, hot plug, etc) and allow you to download only or download&flash stable kernels and nightlies too !

+1 here

milestone 4+leankernel 2.5.0
I highly recommend FuguMod kernel. It's a fantastic kernel. I have loaded many kernels including Franco and Trinity. By far and wide FuguMod kernel is the best, fastest and most stable kernel I've used. It's also actively updated. I don't see myself using anything else anymore.
CM9 has been great for me. Fast, smooth. Just using the stock kernel.

AOKP M4 + Franco M1 = not too bad
ive had good luck with aokp m4 + franco r97
im trying franco m1 currently
Currently on bugless beat. Works fine and close to stock.
Just switched from CM9 to Modaco w/Franco and its the smoothest/quickest Rom I have used. No customizing tho.

NCX vs. franco vs. faux - WHICH ONE IS BETTER.

I'm currently on ncx 0.83 and rd-miui 2.8.10 CM9 rom right now. and i'm getting about 3.5 hours of screen time.
I hear somewhere that the battery life improves after each battery cycle after kernel flash??
I haven't tried much faux or franco much. Anybody wanna share your experiences?
