Do you know where you can find the part?

You will most likely kill the phone doing it yourself.

Well, the major problem is that screen is glued securely , more than a back, glass panel. The problem is that if you try to heat glue to take the screen off, you will propably at 80% end with dead pixels due to heating. And because of this super secure glue you will have to heat a lot
It's not worth it

I think that only the upper and lower part of the glass is glued to the frame itself which should not be a big deal to take off the glass from the frame.....
Your best choice would be to use a frame's skin to hide the defects
Ex :
https://dbrand.com/shop/oneplus-x
Screen is glued and removing it would most likely destroy it due to heat. Not worth it.
Does anyone know if the lcd itself is also glued to the frame or not?

Guys
I observed that there is a crack in the benzel of my sgs2. Benzel i mean The plastic lining that wraps around the front glass.
The crack is near the volume buttons.
How easy it is to replace this plastic strip ? Is it risky ?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Pretty sure you mean bezel, not benzel.
You would probably have to replace the entire housing which is quite risky to do in my opinion. If you don't know what you are doing you could short the board or break something.
Happened to me too.
Is it really so bad that you need to replace it?
Happend to me too. Seems like that part is very fragile.
I think the only way you can replace it is replacing the whole screen and touch panel.
After that one little crack and that mysterious burn mark right next to it (damn alcohol ) i finally decided to buy a case

Its not so bad. But there is an another minor crack on the exactly other side of the benzel where power button is present !
Is it because of overheat ? I use my phone while charging and battery temps are at 46 celcius when I do that.
I never dropped my phone.
If I go for a new benzel then will I have to pay for new screen too ? Is the benzel glued to the screen ?

Buying a case is not an option for me. I nvr dropped my phone. I use it very carefully , I love my sgs2.
Why would I have to replace screen also ?

You can probably have it replaced at an official Samsung repair center. I'm pretty sure they carry one or two sets -- or can order one for you -- but it'll probably set you back a little.

I am not sure about this. But looking at the screen replacement tutorial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253969) it seems like screen+touchpanel+bezel is a single part. I guess it is somehow glued together. But again, that is just a guess.
just put a little glue in the crack
went to samsung service center.
They said they will replace the Glass panel, Pled screen and benzel.
Oh what the hell, I'll get a new Oled screen. Will go for SGS4 directly

yeah I noticed a crack on my bezel above the volume button. You can kind of see it on the enclosed picture.
I've got a crack in almost exactly the same place as the above pic, slightly closer to the top of the volume button.
Mine has been in an official flip case since day one and has never been dropped. I only noticed the crack when I looked after reading this thread (just like the plastic cover over the home button thread!).
I wouldn't have noticed the crack because of the case. So, is this a design fault? Is it heat or flex that is causing the crack?
The benzel is the most fragile part I think.
I must be because of heat. As the processor, gpu and antenna are near camera module. The top portion gets a lot hotter when accessing 3G.
On top of that if any pressure you put on it going to worsen it. Putting it in a tight jeans and then when u try to remove it out of pocket, u tend to grab the benzel a lot.
All in all, I would go for a metal/polycorbonate benzel in my next phone. That disqualifies SGS3.
Obviously I dont want to pay a hell lot of amount just to get a thin plastic strip (benzel) to be replaced.
Just because samsung did stupid move to glue them together and chose a cheap plastic for benzel I now have to pay a lot.
Waiting for HTC One XL(unibody) with S4 chipset. At least it would come for 3 yrs rather than breaking within 11 Months.
End of rant. Sh**ty cheap plastic Samsung.

same issue for me
i discovered that few weeks after buying the device
i kept the device with that crack but i worried about it
"happy" to see that i'm not the only one
Incredible! Saw this thread and wondered what the hell a 'benzel' was. After reading that it had happened to more people, I just checked my phone and it has the same crack.
Had never noticed this until now. Fortunately mine is a black phone, so not as noticeable as the white.

also the bezel scratches easy is there any point in replacing it when you could pay to have it fixed then drop the phone or scratch it against something??
wear marks are never good to see but they do happend
My phone is very scratched and has alot if dents, I find it very uncomfortable to use. And the repairs are $150+. Should I get a new phone or just send it for repairs. The touchscreen replacement comes with an LCD and I dont need an LCD replacement. I cant find any seller/reseller of a touchscreen.

There is a factory-applied screen protector (you can see it around the edges of the ear speaker and mic). Try to peel it off and your screen will be as good as new. Tip: it's a good idea to apply a new screen protector after you remove the old one.

Hello Guys.
I dropped my phone today and when I lifted it up my screen was blue/black. I pulled the battery out and turned it on. Most of the screen is black and can't see anything. There are strips of blue pixels here and there.
What exactly is broken and what do i need to replace. I obviously need to replace the Glass frame/screen, LCD ... do I need to replace the digitizer as well?
If anyone knows about this please help me out.

As long as I know any T999 i535 I747 will be compatible except I9300. I dont know why but some T999 users havd problems.
Is a good deal indeed. But If you can find some with frame includes will ve a very sweet deal.

I know sound expensive but you only will have to change the mainboard and components very easy without any need of stick or glue to install it on the frame.

Yeah I heard it should work and is cross compatible. But my question is if on that eBay link.. Are they selling everything I need to fix my problem or do I need to buy something else? I
It says: 1. Front Glass Touch Screen Digitizer Panel + LCD Display Screen pre-assembled without frame
That's all I need ?
Thanks

Yes, the only concern I have is the glue used to join the frame with the screen, if isn't professional installed this will be falling soon or getting dust an sand under the screen. Thats why I recommend the entire frame and screen set...

It's very difficult to replace the glass only. You can find the glass om eBay for 3£ and loca glue on Amazon for 5£, but the removal process takes time. I was in the same situation with you. I tried with a proper heat gun, lots of YouTube tutorials, playing cards, everything. I managed to remove 30% of the glass, and then a wrong move cracked the display. I got frustrated and ripped the display completely. What I suggest is to send it to oneplus centre because if you damage the display while changing the glass, you will have to change the entire assembly. An assembly costs over 90£ on eBay, and they're most likely not original. Oneplus service centre will charge you with about 70£ in total. Cheers

I dropped mine and tried to do it by myself
Spent 2 hrs and guess what messed up and the display broke that is became dead
Then i got it done from a repairing shop where the guy said it's almost impossible to the screen by yourself because of how the design of this phone is and cursed one plus, until you replace the phones like 100 times a day
My advice don't to it by yourself
Get it done

I agree, it's not a major issue, I was thinking to take of the screen completley and reglue it using some duble sided tape... But there is a risk of breaking the screen in the proces... It's not worth it
What about putting duck tape across top and bottom of the screen? Don't forget to make holes for loudspeaker, front camera and proximity sensor. And for microphone and fingerprint at bottom
So, you're all saying that tbe whole screen is moving a bit in the case? Check teardown and you'll see that is actually glued. Not my favorite solution but I suppose is cost effective.

Bought a screen off eBay, yes you need to heat up the glue underneath the screen with a heat gun.
Got the new screen in after I had to remove all the small piece of glass that was still glued but it's not an easy repair and I still have screen issues I assume the screen isn't the same quality as the original one which comes with a silver backing plate.
In bright sunlight my screen turns blue
The battery maybe will never die, because a bigger LiPo much longer live as a small one and we just load again all 2 or 3 days. So that's ok that's build in. Maybe the screen is much earlier broken. Hope it doesn't broke
My battery has 3600mAh(3597)
