My phone is very scratched and has alot if dents, I find it very uncomfortable to use. And the repairs are $150+. Should I get a new phone or just send it for repairs. The touchscreen replacement comes with an LCD and I dont need an LCD replacement. I cant find any seller/reseller of a touchscreen.

There is a factory-applied screen protector (you can see it around the edges of the ear speaker and mic). Try to peel it off and your screen will be as good as new. Tip: it's a good idea to apply a new screen protector after you remove the old one.

Yup. Very disappointing. I dropped it on a rock a months ago. Should I try sending it to a Sony service center? I need a separate touchscreen. The touchscreen replacement I found comes with an LCD screen, that makes it expensive.

I'd say a Sony service center is the safest way to get it repaired... But of course you'll need to miss your phone for at least two weeks.

While I had my Touch Pro 2 in my right pocket, I entered my car and the phones screen got a crack because of my stupid steering-wheel.
It's just a crack on the glass not the display itself, so the touchscreen and the display work flawlessly but the crack is pretty long (3-4cm).
Is there a way to change that upper part of the phone and how much does it cost?

Thanks but it seems as if his screen totally broke. On my phone it's "just" the glass that has a crack. Like I said, it still works like a charm (besides windows mobile which is a pain in the butt )

ha ha, idiotic steering wheel, not getting out the way of your phone! (Sorry - I'm allowed to have a bit of fun with your misfortune as a drunk guy urinated all over my 1 week old Pro2... grrr!)
Anyway, on a more helpful note, I think your best option is to send it back to HTC for repair. They'll charge for it, but even if you could do it yourself, you'd void the warranty. Hopefully it won't be too expensive, but it's worth contacting them to see.
Let us know how you get on.
Thanks but I'm very busy at the moment and cant afford to wait some weeks for my phone to return
everybody is saying "glass", now i feel convinced that there's something missing from my phone. my touchscreen just feels like a membrane. only touchscreen i've used with glass is the iphone. please somebody tell me that there's not a problem with my TP2??
the softer layer is the resistive touch screen part, that pushes against the glass which holds back the LCD
so
Finger
(screen cover)
resistive touch screen plastic layer
glass layer

Hi,
I am very sorry for your phone. Trust me I know how you feel You are the third person with me who has a serious problem with the screen.
The problem is the screen is a compact piece like a digital, square, rectangle box which consists of one part only. It has no seperate or tearable upper part on it, I know because I have ordered one from a third party.
Therefor the only repair solution is to change whole screen unfortunately. So you should return it to service.
Regards

How much did you pay in total and did you repair it yourself?
And I think that I just cracked the screen cover and nothing of the deeper ones.
I am delivering it to back to customer service. I bought the part but I could not change it; it was so hard to open that har and I did not want to void warranty.
So either use the phone with the screen scratched or change the lcd completely.
Regards.
So how much did you pay? Did you send your phone back to the uk or did you let it repair in ankara? And is there a good shop in ankara to change the language from a german touch diamond 2 to turkish (for usage with AVEA)?
And I just realized that I didn't crack the topmost surface but the deeper laying glass. Hmmmmm still working :/ I'm going to visit ankara this year and if it is cheaper than here, I might consider letting it repair over there.
I have sent it to UK via a friend. The repair shop in Ankara did not want to deal with since it was brand new under guarantee and they didn't know the device well. So I did not take the risk, chose the hard way, I think this seems to be the corect way.
I don't know yet the repair price though.
Regards.
Cracked mine too sent away under insurance and they simply sent me a brand new phone.
Well, today was a say day for me, for I dropped my HOX on some concrete and shattered the glass, phone still works and lcd isn't damaged... but I was wondering if theres anyone here who knows a decent repair centers in the UK, i've seen this http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/2511...ixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&adtype=pla&crdt=0 and i'm pretty sure thats all I need... I could even try myself
Perhsps HTC can sell us an original part, we could also ask for s one x+ battery. I don't know how much the one x digitisee and glass replacement would cost. The whole svren inc LCD is 160 IIRC so probably less than 100?
I also.have a damaged screen. My concern is whether the. Parts are really originals as claimed, be cause I'd like a real gorilla glass panel. Also, how do I reconnect the connectors I have to unplug to get the screen . Presumably it's obvious otherwise it would have been mentioned in repair guides.
HTC may repair and sell originals, how much for I don't know.
My LCD appears fine usually, but sometimes there is a yellow tint to some of the screen, presumably related to epoxy glue. Also I was pressing down on the Screen and now one of the cracks appear slightly blue Around the edges, not sure if this will change if I replace.
Finally I saw a story on xdA I think of a guy who Bricked his while trying to replace the screen.

From what I have seen in One X screen replacement videos and read in this and other forums the digitizer is not easily separable from the LCD. So most probably you'll have to replace the whole display assembly (i.e digitizer + LCD screen).
Nope
None of the replacement parts in this thread so far are close to genuine, and will be cheap crap.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320929331645?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
This is what a genuine replacement looks like, and costs. If it's under £100, forget it; it's crap. If it comes as separate parts, it's crap. The One X screen is bonded at the factory across the entire area of the screen - you will never get a good screen if you assemble it yourself, or even if a repair centre does it. You'll get an air gap between the LCD and digitizer, and therefore it will look awful in daylight.

Call up HTC. I've done some research, seems to agree with what is posted above.
I feel your pain.. I have a small crack on the side of my S3 screen. How bad is it? If its smalland on the side check out an overlay Luke by Spectre. They are about 4mm thick and are cut to cover the whole face of the screen

A few days ago I noticed a grayish green spot above my menu button, love tried to massage it out but it doesn't go away. The functions still work in that area when I touch it but is my LCD going bad? And if so where I'd the cheapest place to find a replacement? Thanks!
Sent from my GT-N7105 using CM Remix
The screen is transistors under glass, not any liquid crystal under plastic, so massage will probably cause damage. You can eventually replace the glass, LCD, and digitizer as a unit attached to the midframe. Its about $250 for the part.

Sorry, yes, everything is glued together as a complete screen unit. I got two from ebay, but different sellers. Make sure the item is described as OEM so you get the quality.
Is yours too old to use the warranty?

Joined the club this morning unfortunately. My touch screen still works, so like many, I just have to replace the front part.
I've read this thread almost in its entirety, but nobody mentions having any success. Has anybody tried replacing the screen themselves? Does anybody know if you can use a blowdryer instead of a heat gun?
Also, where are most people buying replacements? I see the one from China, but I'm a little wary of those so considering this: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617614
I've replaced laptop and mobile screens in the past (back in the HTC 8525 days), but not sure if this is out of skill-set. Would really appreciate some input.

I recommend you should not try to do this yourself but instead send it to a prof.service. you could find them on Ebay. You should only do it yourself if you replace the whole screen assembly.

Someone did replaced the digitizer and the screen didnt worked. So good luck.
I also did cracked mine screen, but I took it to service repair and costed me 285US.
Only positive, is the new replacement screen doesnt have backlight bleeding like mine old one had and was very annoying as hell.
This is first ever big LCD screen that doesnt have any backlight bleeding of all i owned.

If you don't know I tell you, the screen is glued to the digitizer with UV glue and you need a special glue machine to do that. Any other methods like tape, glue strings, glue kits ...what ever, will not work the same way, air and dirt will get in between and you will see mark and bubble all over the screen in the long run, plus the touch/Spen may not even work right any more...So good luck. It's may cost you more but, if you went through all the headache and at the end you still have to buy an assembly...mute point and even cost you more...

They dont change the digitizer only and whole LCD+digitizer frame. None of repair service would change just the digitizer, too much work and very difficult to do it.
Repair cost only 50US and lcd+digitizer frame cost 235US. Looking around the web, its cost around 210SUS LCD + digitizer frame.
After I read that someone failed to replace only the digitizer, since they are glued together and decided take it to repair service instead.

Well, the major problem is that screen is glued securely , more than a back, glass panel. The problem is that if you try to heat glue to take the screen off, you will propably at 80% end with dead pixels due to heating. And because of this super secure glue you will have to heat a lot
It's not worth it

I think that only the upper and lower part of the glass is glued to the frame itself which should not be a big deal to take off the glass from the frame.....
Your best choice would be to use a frame's skin to hide the defects
Ex :
https://dbrand.com/shop/oneplus-x
Screen is glued and removing it would most likely destroy it due to heat. Not worth it.
Does anyone know if the lcd itself is also glued to the frame or not?
