Noob here, just needing to access the play store so I can get an app to use my old Incredible (mod ADR6300, Android 2.3.4, build 4.08.605.19) as a video camera for security. Tried a search here but didn't get a hit. Can someone point me in the right direction, please? When I try the old market app I get a user agreement with no place to check "agree/okay/yes". I have done a factory reset. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Damn, I got the same problem (old touch of blue mod).. Im going to see if I cant find newer gapps that will work with it..

I have just picked up my new Orange HTC desire (very nice it is too, apart from the Orange stuff that comes with it).
The problem I am having is that I am now unable to download any more applications form the Andriod marketplace. I was able to do this until the other day.
I found this (android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile-pulse-pulse-modaco-com/304562/download-unsuccessful/)forum which basically says that you need the gtalk service running.
I had disabled this the other day whilst messing around and I couldn't work out how to re-enable this. (Possibly due to the ORange branding stuff, not sure).
I found a link to the gtalk.apk in one of these forums, downloaded it and installed that. That got the gtalk service running again. however I am still unable to download apps from the market place, this is very annoying.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
try clearing the cache from the settings menu / applications / manage applications / download manager and then reboot your handset. This worked for me earlier in the week.
Thanks for the tip, I tried it but still no luck, any more ideas anybody?
Cheers
EVO APP store

i dont think you need gtalk running to download from the market, im sure i have removed that app b4 and had no problems i can remember, what is the error you are getting? you have give us no info? is the download failing or the instalation? many problems with the market can be solved by going to settings/application/manage applictions, find market under the all tab, click on it then click on clear data, reboot your fone and try again ....
You may have noticed that some apps in the app store are "Not available for your device" I absolutely despise that fact that they outright ban you from downloading the app. Give me a warning about mismatched resolutions, whatever, but make NO way to get the apps?! GRRRR!!!! But I digress....
I'm trying to get the myChevrolet and Onstar RemoteLink apps, neither of which are available for our Epic Touch 4G apparently. I can't find the apk's on the web and I've spent hours trying to get the Android Market to work an an Android emulator so I could get the apps and pull the apk from there, but apparently I'm just not going to be able to get the #$%^ market to work either.
Can anybody help here? Send me the apk's or help me get the market working on emulator or some other suggestion ?
I had no problems installing those apps from the market.

I'm not sure why the onstar remote link shows as a zip in my app folder instead of as an apk if that doesn't work let me know

Did you change the DPI on your device? If you did the market won't let you install certain aps.
im0rtalz Thanks, but the first link is broken. I renamed the .zip to .apk, but when I try to install I just get "application not installed". The icon is there though, so I suspect it comes back to a screen resolution issue.
I did not change my DPI, but I am running Calkulins E4GT v2 ROM. I'm guessing the ROM includes a modded resolution???
Sorry I had not check back into this thread please try this one for the apk version

I have looked around this site and the entirety of the world wide web and haven't found an answer for this. Maybe I looked two hard and missed the forest for the trees, but I don't know. So, here goes:
I have rooted my Kindle Fire and installed Google Play/Android Market. It works great and I am able to download free apps at will. When ever I try to purchase an app, however, I get the message "Error. An error occurred. Please try again." This goes for new apps purchased directly from the market and for apps which link to the market for purchase (Avengers Live Wallpaper, for example).
I am able to purchase apps using my computer and they download to my Kindle just fine, but that process won't work with the Avengers wallpaper, for example. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks.
Just a shot in the dark here...have never seen or heard of this one...
Did you set up a payment method in Google Wallet? If not, just go to your Gmail account on a PC, click More at the top and select Wallet. From there you can manage your payment method and enter a credit card number, etc., or update an expiration date, etc.
If you already did that, about the only thing I can think for you to try is to go into Settings | Apps | Google Play and Clear cache. If that doesn't work, I would go back in and Clear data (and cache if it has something in it again).
At least if you haven't seen it before, there is a good chance I didn't miss something about this problem.
1) My Google Wallet is set up and works fine from my computer. I even tried changing my credit card just to see if that helped; no such luck. Google Wallet is not the problem.
2) I have tried to clear the cache, tried clearing data and cache, and then restarted. Tried again and had the same error. Cleared everything again, tried again; no luck. Did it a third time, including another restart: still have the problem.
Thanks, but any other ideas out there?
Next question...and more shot in the dark stuff...
I take it you have not loaded a custom rom, so you grabbed Google Play (vendor.apk) and the Google Services Framework .apk and side loaded it to your KF. Before I loaded a custom rom, I did the same thing. Which version of the Google Framework did you load? I know that when I did it, I was careful to grab the GingerBread version, since the Amazon Stock KF OS is GB based. If you grabbed the ICS version, perhaps the payment processing is different between the two, but they are close enough that you can download free apps.
Perhaps you used the Kindle Fire Utility, so you may have no clue as to what I am talking about! I don't think KFU did the market install back then, I had to to it manually.
Unfortunately, I cannot remember if I actually bought a Google Android app and downloaded it when I was still stock. I did download paid apps, but they were processed on another device prior to that. If I had tried to pay and download, I might very well have gotten the same error as you.
Shots in the dark are still better than what I've got so far.
You are correct in that I have not installed a custom ROM and that I installed the Google stuff using the Kindle Fire Utility, (and that I have no idea about the differences). I would assume that the software used by the KFU developer was the GB based Google Services Framework (since you said the Fire is based on GB).
What's annoying is that I don't really buy many paid apps, and the few I do, I can buy from my PC. The main thing I want to do is get the unlocked Avengers Live Wallpaper (my 4 and 5-year old boys keep asking why they can't see Capt. America and Iron Man). To get the $.99 unlocked wallpaper, you have to link from the app (no direct paid download), so I can't get around this problem.
I appreciate the help and if you have any more shots in the dark, I'd love to hear them.
You can try to install this zip thru TWRP. This is what I have setup on my modified stock 6.3.1. This is the latest Google Play version.
I tired several more ideas, all to no avail. Thankfully, though, I reset my Kindle and started over and now it works.
Don't know what was wrong, but grateful for the help.
Like a newb a downloaded the newest version of play services, thought it was the play store. Needless to say my phone's acting up. Tried reverting to the pre-installed version with no luck. I don't want to do a reset just yet. Can someone possibly pull the services apk for me? Or at least tell me what version our phone's run?
Thanks so much!
Hello,
first - I am from Germany, so my English is probably not the best. But I hope you will understand me. I came here because nobody can help me in German forums.
I use the S4 Mini with CM13, root included. What I want is installing an app which is only for Android 5 and higher, exactly the "Seat Connect App". First I tried to find an APK for this APP, but there is no APK to find, although I try as hard as I can.
The Market Helper APK also not help, I tried to switch my phone into an S5 with it. The Play Store via Computer allows me to install the app, but the phone says the app does not confirm with my device (error code 940).
I also tried to edit the build.prob, I think it was the only way to install apps for higher android systems on old phones before the Market Helper App launches. But that old descriptions from a few years ago also do not help to fix my problem.
So I see no way to solve my problem, as it-specialist it makes me poor not finding a way to do what I want. So I hope you as absolutely experts can help me. Has anyone an idea what is to do to get the app on my phone?
Thanks and greets - spider2MW
I'm not sure how to get your phone download it from the phone's playstore, but if you want apks from apps that is in the playstore (free and not paid), you could go find them at websites that mirror the apk. Websites like apkpure dot com will do.
Here, I found the apk you needed, you could just download it. It's not modified, just a mirror. And it's the latest version, just the same as the one you'll get from playstore
(I can't post links I'm just a lurker and silent reader, so I insert spaces)
apkpure . com/ seat-connectapp/ com.seat.connectedcar.samsung
⊙︿⊙ Sorry, download failed, the APK does not support our device.
This is what I get when I try...
Of course there are many sites to download the newest version of the APK, but there is always another problem. Some sites go to an endless loop by preparing the download, other sides give me the wrong apk, and so on. I tried just about 20 or more links, but there is always another problem. So I would say an APK is not an opinion to solve my problem. Maybe a different handling of Market Helper or the build.prop helps, but I do not know how to do. Maybe someone of you?
Edit: Maybe someone of you can download the APK for me and send it to me on another way? Is that possible? Maybe the link works on your computer.
