[Request] OxygenOS File Manager - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hello, Would someone be kind enough to port the OxygenOS file manager for Lineage? I found the apk on apkmirror, But won't install. Keeps saying a similar app is installed and doesn't progress.

You dont install system apps you have to place it properly in the root>system>app folder and it will show up in app drawer. I am on oos 4.1.0 but am using the email application from lineage the same way

Thank you for your reply. But I would need to be rooted right and have a compatible file explorer to move the files into the app folder? So I would need an explorer to get this explorer.

Are you sure it will work? In my case it is not in priv-app but in a mysterious reserve folder. When I tried to flash the themed version to priv-app it did not work anymore.

Well actually i dont use it myself . i prefer solid explorer i assumed thats were it would be. If you now know were its supposed to be just flash your new themed version in the same location i am on experience rom without the addon package which would include the filemanager

I'm looking for this .apk as well, I just updated to Kezraplane's Optimized Galaxy W Stock V2 and there is no email client, I know I could get one from the marketplace but the default client supports my hotmail accounts without any messing about.
Here you go. Hope it's the right one.

Thanks fender90 but it doesn't work, just shows as Not Installed
It's the one I found in system/apps. EUR XXLA2 Stock ROM.
No idea why it isn't working.
thanks for trying anyway.

This Is a system app and has to be installed on the rom it self.
If not it just won't work.

Due to a comment made about the .apk by KezraPlanes, who built the ROM I'm using, I'm sure that the installer can be obtained and will probably be installed using RzRecovery, I only asked on this thread to help the OP and myself get an answer.
Don't get me wrong i'm only trying to give you the correct answer ;-)
If apps not are in the ROM where they should be normally you have to flash them in the operating disc.
Another solution would be to copy the right files into the operating system.

You can't install the apk like you can with a user-level app, because this is a system app.
You need to copy the .apk (and the associated .odex file if there is one) directly to /system/app. To that you need to be root, and you need a root-capable file explorer which can re-mount the system partition as writeable. ES File Explorer on the market works fine - check the settings to re-mount the partition as writeable, then copy the file(s) to where they need to be
I believe you can also push the file into /system/app using adb, but that's probably more complicated and risky than using a file explorer on your device.

You must put the APK in /system/app and make sure it has no spaces in its filename and then set permissions, that should be it.

Copy paste whatever apk you want in the system/app folder.
Use root explorer and long press the app you have pasted.
Select permissions and make sure it is rw-,r--.r--
And you are good to go.
You don't have to set permissions at all if you're adding the apps to a ZIP before flashing, only if you're adding them to a ROM already running on your phone

That's right, only paste the apk in the system/app/ of the rom zip and flash it
you also will have to sign the zip or repack it.

If you open it with 7-Zip you don't have to either! Although I personally resign them, cba with turning off signature checking in CWM!

Missing HTC Message app (sms) ?!

During installation I accidentaly removed HTC´s Messageing app (sms app).
I know there are thirdparty apps on Google Play....but I would prefer to have the original.
So my question is if anyone have the original sms app lying around..and would be kind enough to post it here ?

Just flash it over again and it won't cause any damage. Just select all the same things you did before besides removing the sms app. Still keeps all your stuff.

Yeah I thought of that to...but this seemed like an easier way.
Anyway...thanks for taking the time !
or use a filemanager and find the file in the rom zip you flashed, it's in system/app/ , i think Messages.apk is the right filename. extract it and copy to /system/app and make sure you've got 644 (rw-r-r) permissions on it, which should be available in the properties for Messages.apk once you extract it. then reboot. between flashing the package again or doing this, you're covered.
I´m looking inside the rom zip file...trying to figure out wich one of them is the smsapp.
The idea is to extract it and the insert it in the rom with root explorer !
EDIT: HEHE...rynfrnk...same thought !

exactly what you want to do! it's Message.apk and you'll want to make sure you didn't delete HtcMessageProvider.apk as well.. extract those out and copy to your phone's storage under /system/app and 644 the files so their perms are set and then reboot, you should be golden.
Done..that was easy enough.....thnx again guys !

no prob! glad you got it taken care of! with the advent of aroma, it's slightly less appealing to fix simple issues like that with a full re-flash.

Can someone post the McAfee APK?

Hi,
I would like to put the McAfee app back on my G3. The find my phone feature looked reasonable when I was running the stock ROM.
Can anyone post it? I assume its not just the normal McAfee app from the playstore.
Thanks
Odexed (Stock). Unzip and push to system/priv-app/
FYI, there is a thread with system dumps etc if you search.

Did you reboot after copy and changing permissions, then just run the app from normal app icon, no need to install.

Hi there. I have a D855 installed FulmicsRom-5.0. I wanted to install McAfee to my phone. The provided apk works but it's not have some futures i needed. Newer versions, like v30c stock include, have private photo taking of intruders etc. I tried to install the one from my v30c twrp backup (extracted to PC); but it don't work. Always displays "Sorry, McAfee has stopped" or something like that. Is there a way to install my McAfee version (namely version 4.5.0.7066)? Any help is appreciated. Here is the relevant files from /system/priv-apps folder: ( Oopsss... i can not post my dropbox link to the zip)
What permissions you put? I have fulmics 5.2 and error when open app

Default 'Files' app needed.

Hi guys,
I hope this is the right place to put my request.
I recently deleted the 'Files' app from system as i have root access on my OP3.
But now i realized that the app is required to allow write permissions for OTG connected storage devices.
So i kindly request you guys to please upload the app's apk file here.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advanced and sorry for my bad English.
This is from OOS CB 3.5.3
All system apps have their apk files on system partition (in /system/apps). You can get them with any fine manager with root access.

I guess I misunderstood then, I thought you just uninstalled it.
You can also extract apps from rom.zip, if you have it somewhere handy.
