Fast charging in my Lenovo P2 stopped working - now it takes forever to charge. I am using the original cable and charger, plus I have tried resetting the phone. Any ideas?
Hi, try powering OFF your phone and keep charging .. check the time
i doubt that its the work of your ROM / SOC , if your phone is getting HOT or warm then your phone will get charged at slower pace, if your phone is Cool then Rapid charge...
once test yourself and give the feed back
i heard this nature address by reviewer while saying about MotoG5+ , i am thinking its there in our phone also
I've tried that too. I will try a hard reset now....
OK, I had to send it in for service. Dam I miss it - can't live with out that battery.
I'm facing that problem too.. since a while my phone jumps between fast charging and normal -.-

Thank you that worked out perfectly!

Hello! I wasn't able to find anything on this so I'm wondering if my phone is defective...
My phone is stuck in a loop...
1.I plug the phone in it will charge for 5 minutes then try to start up
2.The charging will stop during the boot up (on it own)
3.I imagine there's not enough battery power so the phone will shut off
And this will go on in a continuous loop. Also I can't stop it from booting up so that makes it worse...
I just bought the phone and let the battery drain down the for the first time and it started looping this way. Very odd. I have 2 other HTCs (8925 and 8525) and never had this problem...
So I'm wondering is it
1. The Software (config)
2. The Battery
3. The phone
I've searched the internet and it seems like I'm the only one having this problem...
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Hmmmmmm sounds like a bad phone, I'd return it to your carrier if possible

i had a simular situation w/ my mda...i was on vacation, and when the battery drained, it wouldnt take a charge...the problem was that i was using my girlfriends motorola charger which wasnt strong enough charge a completly drained mda battery...
just ensure you are using the charger that came w/ the phone, as many figure (as did i) that one mini-usb charger is as good as another...
hope that helps...
Having the same issue, my Pro2 charges for couple of minutes than reboots and also the battery won't take a full charge so can Hard Reset .
Anyone else resolved this issue
Try booting your phone without the battery, so it doesn't need to charge
Thanks alot it turned out to be the USB cable. It was defective I was using the charger for my 8925 and it was working no problem but when I switch back to the TP2 it didn't work!
Hello
I have a Unlocked Alcatel ot-980 Android 2.1-update-1 mobile phone
The problem i am having is that the touchscreen dosent always work well actually most of the time. I have currently got it working somehow and has been for 2 days now but when i next charge it i dont know if it will still work. When i connect the charger the phone switches off then back on for a min then off again, and so on randomly. And sometimes this makes the touchscreen work for about 5 mins after charging but as i say i have got it working for a few days now! Ive opened up the phone thinking loose connection and thats not it everything looks fine!?! Also if it helps when connected via usb the phone does nothing apart from switch off. Im happy to open the phone and use a soldering iron im just unsure why its doing it?
Have tried:
opening up - loose connections
hard reset / reload
plugging headphones in and out quick (worked once)
plugging into charger (works sometimes)
plugging into usb (works sometimes)
I know the touchscreen itself is ok as when it does work its perfect and if i try and calibrate when screen doesnt work it doesnt register any touches.
BTW its resistive touch! and been like this 10 days after purchase :S
Thankyou!
I can say that resistive touch is almost never good.
Try using that screen with a stylus..
I am currently using a stylus on the phone, im pretty sure theres a power problem with the phone what that problem is i dont know.
Im currently charging the phone and its doing what it should always do (show a battery meter charging) It hasnt done this basically since ive had the device! Very wierd i have a feeling problems are going to be ok for a little while before it goes silly again!
Thanks for the reply!
Well phone is charged and everything is good so not 100% i have a problem know! Well i know i do with the ammount of trouble but everything is good know ...
...so
Having massive issues right now. Last night I left my phone plugged in AC to charge and ran a sleep tracker app. Woke up this morning and found the phone dead. I tried unplugging and plugging again multiple times and managed to get the Red LED blinking then it went steady indicating it was charging. Turned the phone on but as if it wasn't charging anymore, it powered off within minutes. I managed to get recovery running and factory reset (running CM10). Same issue still there. I even tried leaving the phone in hboot and recovery to charge but after 10 mins the battery went flat again. Now I've just left the phone off and plugged into AC. The blinking LED came on again then went steady - but after 15 mins the LED light disappears. I just left it like that, now the phone tries to boot up but gets stuck at HTC logo. Also it is incredibly hot.
Any ideas? Really need help here.
Additional info, installed NFS: Most Wanted yesterday, tried playing but phone really overheated big time. Could that have cause the motherboard to fry? Just seems odd though cause it boots up fine, just won't stay on - can't even get past the initial setup wizard.
Also I would take it back to Vodafone AU but since I can't get the phone up long enough to restore to stock, they might find out I've rooted and thus voiding my warranty.
I had the same problem. I installed NFS MW and it drained my battery like help and when i tried recharging it it wouldnt charge
at all. Even when i pluged the phone on it wouldnt charge. Tried a different cable. For all it could be a adapter/cable problem.
That was what it was for me. I tried a different charger and it worked. If you are using a different charger, use something with 1A output.
If the led is blinking, it means that the battery is verryy low.
once your phone turns on, turn the airplane mode ON and display OFF and wait a few minutes before using the phone.
no luck

Yea, I tried using a different cable, even tried using my old iPod USB to wall adapter. No luck there, but I think I'm on to something now. Thanks anyway
getting there

Hey, yea I figured that much from searching around. Too bad it's such a big flaw. I couldn't sustain a charge at all when I was still on CM10. Couldn't even finish booting up and it would just die. Voltage was super low was my guess. Tried using the fastboot charging script (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658084&page=5) and managed to get battery up enough to flash stock boot.img, did a nandroid restore to Stock ROM then flashed stock recovery. Seems to be stable now, in airplane mode and display off. Started up phone at 4% and now it's at 6% so fingers crossed :fingers-crossed: Thanks for the reply though - needing all the tips I can get!
I have been having this issue for a few days where the phone will detect the charger and it will display the charging sign. However charge wont go up and in fact sometimes it goes down. This problem however doesn't happen when fully off and works as usual. I've used ampere to check and noticed i only get about 150ma where as before i would get constant 1500ma. I tried different plugs, different cables, software repair, hard reset, safe mode. Nothing works

I was able to get just charging working (slow charging) when the phone is on by filling the battery to 100% when off and then leaving it unplugged for a few hours after that. I then turned it back on, used it for a bit until it reached about 70% and then charged it with the phone on and it began to charge again ( its pretty slow compared to fast charging but its a start).
Other possible solution.

I read somewhere that a corrupted SD can cause this issue too so I also removed my SD card when doing the process i mentioned above. Not sure if this is what solved it but you might wanna give it a try.

i dont think so. may be problem with the charging connector. there is possibility to poor contact between connector and PCB board due to solder connection or may be possibility of loose connection between connector and charger pin . so slightly press the charger pin and connect and now then its charging . just try
Works
I don't know which of the two methods it was but fast charging became usable again and works fine.
Hi ,
i'm facing charging issues on my s 20 plus it is only charging on the cable mode and the super fast charging mode is on and i'm using the original charger and cable. I've tried soft resetting and turining the phone on on the safe mode and still the problem is there. I started having problem after getting a moisture detected notification on my phone and it went away but the problem is still after a day. Does anyone have any fix for this problem?
Just started having exact same problem, no ideas yet?
I thought my charger was faulty, same issue with me, no chance for my s20 to get charged wirelessly, no matter fast or not. I think the last security update was buggy maybe
It's not you. I noticed that my wireless fast charging immediately broke after the last update. They all start to fast charge, then a few seconds later reverts to standard charging.
Thankfully, I can still fast and super fast charge with my USB C chargers.
I saw it on different Samsung forums, Reddit and the Samsung Members app. All reporting similar issues and the only thing they all had in common was the last update. I do believe it's software and Samsung needs to fix it. I know my chargers work fine as my work S7 still fast charges on all of them but it's on an old software version.
