After updating to lollipop im getting heavy drain by media server which is named as system adsprpcd by gsam battery monitor . I never got this battery drain in kitkat .
I got this problem in every lolli rom viper sd insertcoin etc . I fixed all files and removed all corrupted files but the issue doesnt solve .
I flashed back viper kitkat rom a few days back and surprisingly kitkat battery was good as is should be no battery drain whatskever. But after comjng back to lolli rom (sd rom now ) the problem again started .
Is it lollipop software ?

I have the same problem. I have disabled Nu player from developer options but the problem occurs again.
When I notice in GSam battery that adsprpcd is beginning to drain the battery I reboot the phone and that fixes it for a while.
Does anyone know of a permanent fix?
I have been trying to find answer to this problem. I've had it on ALL lollipop Roms. Aosp, sense, and gpe. It's driving me nuts. I have figured out however that it has nothing to do with nuplayer or Google music. It's something to do with notifications.
In gsam it lists audio on for X hrs, x m, xs. Now if I send myself a text or anything that gives me a notification, that timer starts ticking. If I go back and refresh, the audio on time keeps going up for several minutes before it will stop. But if I clear notification from my notification screen the timer stops immediately. That's what's causing it to show up at the top of gsam. That's the cause. I haven't figured out a solution except clearing the notifications.
I am curious though if this isn't some issue with gsam because bbs does not show anything for that process.
Edit: here's a screenshot

Yes. I have since had to change that opinion but never updated my post since no one responded.
Do you by any chance leave your data on 3g only?
Im on LTE still with still turned off wifi but in batt history and gsam batt history is still on..

I figured as much. It's still a mystery to me. I've gotten to where I just ignore it. When I see it start showing up at the top of gsam I just reboot. I've no idea what makes it run constantly like that. I'm hoping when I update to mm soon it will go away but I'm not holding my breath
So Wi-Fi is solved.. cuz in settings is in lollipop in Wi-Fi settings default enabled Wi-Fi for location so this is solved for me.
but adsprpcd still comsupt too much batt life .. BTW WTF is audiomix?

Audio mix is something like a wakelock for when you get a notification I do believe

Same problem here. I pulled out my SD card now which I had all my mp3 songs to see if it is the reason for this wakelock. Before that the following screenshots show my situation:
I want to add also that I'm on mm 6.0 (jw version) with xposed installed.
Στάλθηκε από το HTC One M8 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk
I also notice this on Lollipop but today I finally found what is causing this wakelock for me: notification about battery saving when I turn on Extreme battery saving. It's weird, but it's true. How I noticed it? Yesterday I read on xda that this wakelock is causing by notifications. After last night, when I always turn on extreme battery saving, I saw that adsprpcd has about 8h, what is exactly same time I was sleeping. I tested it once again: I checked how much time adsprpcd had, then turned on extreme battery saving, turned it off after a minute and again check time - it increased. Because I have Xposed I installed NotifyClean, remove notification about battery saving and repeated test, time didn't increase Adsprpcd can be caused by other notifications I think, I will examine it.
But as mentioned on xda, I don't see really impact on battery by this wakelock, because I lost 1-2% per night, when adsprpcd increase time.
Ever since updating to new Android 5.1.1 I'm having sudden battery drains while on stand by it will often start to warm up and I'll would see a drop in 20% battery in like 5 - 10 mins. And reboot fixes this. But this has been happening for a few days. Its not the WiFi as I have toggled the WiFi off the watch and locations are also off. I have done am factory reset a few times but no use. Any ideas? Or is it possible to reflash the update similar how you can do on android devices via adb?
POSSIBLE FIXES/ SOLUTIONS
I have summarised possible fixes and solutions to the battery drain
1. Uninstall Battery stats app
2. Re install android wear using Sony PC Companion (this worked for me)
3. Disable Google fit (credit to @maniusng)
4. Install previous version of android wear companion app
5. Fix by @Bender_0

My fix:
I think I stopped battery drains, but not discussed in the XDA option.
Settings> Wi-Fi Settings> Wi-Fi Disable
And then in Wi-Fi settings> Advanced> Energy Saving 15 minutes.
See if you solved this to you.

EDIT: POSSIBLE ROOT OF PROBLEM
after doing loads of testing i think i may have found the cause. its the WiFi and its drivers because i have noticed that when my phone gets disconnected and then reconnected later on, during the battery cycle i will have a drain. and if i dont allow my watch to loose connection with my phone and then i would not experience battery drain during that battery cycle.

Try turn off Cloud sync on Android wear app on the phone if you didn't do that. Maybe this is the problem.
Mine has been draining too, cloud on or off
I had this too. The last 20% drained very quick during night in a way it never did before
Had similar issues this weekend. Even tried to use it during a half marathon run and the battery died on me during the race. Even the day before the watch just died on me after maybe 4-5 hours.
Haven't tried disabling cloud sync yet, but have turned off Location and Wifi for now. I also uninstalled a few apps I really wasn't using just in case in the background they were draining battery (even if the battery usage monitor wasn't listing specific apps.) The other thing I did was change back to a stock watch face in case the one I was using was draining battery (it was Minimal and Elegant.) Drain has slowed down, so I need to keep playing around with settings.
My guess is it's tied to apps that weren't ready for the 5.1.1 update, so we'll see if I can determine what I was using that started the drain.

yes checked its off in my phone as well
there is a similar thread of a user seeing what is causing the battery drain and he found out that it is "wear battery stats" as it kept waking the watch. i have unistalled this app and the watch battery seems to be ok. after another battery cycle ill let you know what happens
After receiving the update and it killing my battery from 100% to dead in 6 hrs I charged the battery over night took it off charge at 11 am yesterday and at 4 today I'm at 3 % which is 29 hrs with sync and wi-fi on and I'm using Wear battery stats. The funny thing is my battery before the update would not last even close to what I just got.

Have tried the below all while Never having the phone and watch apart more than 2-3 meters:
Wifi off , cloudsync on
Wifi off cloudsync off
wifi off, clousdync off, gestures off
wifi off, clousdync off, gestures off, GPS off
wifi off, clousdync off, gestures off, GPS off + Factory reset (twice)
wifi off, clousdync off, gestures off, GPS off + Factory reset (twice), Cinema Mode
The problem still keeps coming back.
As far as i can tell nothing i do is triggering it.
My next thing to try is to uninstall anything that i can that has a wear app in it, though that's going to be very annoying.
I think most off problems are related to Cloud sync and turning it off will be good for battery. But there is something alse that is draining battery. I had problem with some watchfaces and had to uninstall them day after updating Android wear to 5.1.1. They were killing my watch. Now I am still looking what is draining battery. I'll post my results when I am finished.
Has somebody Google Fit installed and no battery life problems?
I think it could be due to the fact that I have greenifyed the watch faces and watch apps on my phone. I de greenifyed them and I'm gonna check out the battery and keep it updated.

Ok weird.
Uninstall Google fit, battery life is better but I'm still getting Google fit notifications.
It looks like there is a version that ships with the watch by default.... Maybe that's the issue..?

I see no difference but use it like I always have no WiFi
Same here.. I have wear battery stats installed on my computer and I've seen sharp spikes with the battery, up to a 20% drain, that's from 2.33% to 3%. I've done the following with the same issue happening:
1. Went into recovery to clear cache
2. Factory Reset from Watch
3. Removed Wear Mini Launcher
4. Removed all additional watch faces
At first it seemed like it was back to normal.. but then I would get another sharp spike... and at times when powered back up from being dead it would act like the cache was cleared and would start the updating applications before the watch would fully start up. So I went ahead (out of anger) and did the following:
1. Removed all unnecessary applications (Stay Lit Wear was one of them.. possible suspect)
2. Reimaged with Sony PC Compainion 2 (Watch was initially upgraded through ADB)
3. Setup the Watch.
4. Uninstalled updates to Google Play Services on my Phone and reinstalled them back on the phone (thus disconnecting the watch... forcing me to.... )
5. Factory Reset the Watch again.
6. Now that I'm back up and running it seems that my battery is lasting a lot longer... at a drain rate of 1.88%.
Crossing my fingers something in there fixed my issue, and possibly helps someone else.
even after uninstalling wear battery stats, still getting sudden battery drains on idle ambient mode in 10 mins there was a drop of over 20% and it still warms up a lot. I am going to reflash using Sony pc companion.
I hope you guy with battery problem figure it out.Mine is the best It's ever been.
Guys got my OP3 few days back but what I'm noticing is that after 2-3 days that my Android System is higher then Screen usage which wasn't before. Never facing this kind of drain before on OP3 or on my Nexus 5 that I used to use before. Is there anything unusual? I'm attaching screenshot of better battery stats also please do look into them.
Anyone ?
I had the same issue resulting in terrible battery life since Android System was constantly working the CPU. It's probably due to the Oxygen OS kernel. I sent back my unit and asked for a replacement because I didn't want to install a custom ROM on a brand new phone just yet.
Same issue here, Android System uses more battery than my screen. Also it looks like the phone was awake all night tonight with screen off, so I had more standby drain.
This is most likely due to an app that has a rogue process running in the background constantly keeping gms awake. Try clearing data for the play store and turning off sync for any apps you have. See the drain overnight and report back.
Same problem here... "Android-System" is consuming the highest amount of all my other apps ...
My OP3 has a lifetime of about 6-8 hours ...
Yeah even it's the same for me... Even did a factory reset but didn't help

when you turn off auto sync, does whatsapp still work without having to manually sync every now and then? afaik, most of the social apps rely on this sync to function properly and having to manually sync every time for whatsapp or twitter would defeat its purpose.

Whatsapp doesn't use sync to fetch messages. Sync is for syncing contacts on Whatsapp
guys try disabling ambient mode and see if that lowers the android system drain.
i'm checking it myself on my op3
That does not work for me. I have everything disabled - daydreams, ambient, proximity wake, Google now, now on tap, auto sync, oneplus launcher but android system continues to take up more battery even when the screen is off.
The Opskin package is included in Android system, maybe rendering the ui drains more battery
I think I fixed this by disabling "location" and/or "location determination" (DE: Standortbestimmung)

Nope ... not fixed
I use the "relax and sleep" android app overnight to sleep, and each night, after several hours, it ends. I think Oreo is ending it, but I don't see how to disable battery savings or optimization on it in Oreo?
Is that what the issue is?
If so, how do I fix that?

Not sure if Battery Optimization is your issue or not. I know I had a similar issue on Nougat with Google Music cutting out in the middle of a 4 mile run and I solved it by setting it to "Not Optimized". From a quick look, it looks like you can tweak app battery optimization settings as follows:
Settings->Apps&Notifications->App Info->Select App->Battery->Battery Optimization->Toggle "All Apps/Not Optimized"->Select App->Toggle Optimize/Don't optimize
Hopefully there is an easier method to get to that Battery Optimization control - but it is the one I found....
Good luck!
Thanks!
I can't figure out what is causing this but my phone is losing battery quickly and when I check battery setting it is some app or the other at the top of the battery consuming app-list. If I remove (uninstall) the top app from the phone, another takes it place. I removed 10 such apps and now it's WhatsApp and Chrome who are doing the honors. What is happening to my phone? As I type, the phone is heating considerably. I have just restarted it and only WhatsApp and XDA app is running in the background.
Edit: The heating and battery drain only happens when the screen is active. When the phone is locked, it no longer remains hot and battery drain also subsides.

Batter drain
Hi, since past few weeks my phone's battery is draining like anything. Strangely the built in app ContactsStorage is showing on top of the battery eating apps, can anyone please help me understand what this app is and why it is eating up battery the most. See the screenshot attached. Please help me with the solution.

Hi,
I am facing this issue too from last 2-3 days. Have used greenify to kill apps that seem to use battery but that has been of no help. I only keep my mobile data on and rest all - wifi, gps, auto brightness, screen rotate etc. are switched off. Still battery drain happening and phone is heating on normal usage (No games or heavy apps used - just messaging and whatsapp). I have also noticed that the fast charge is not really charging the phone as quickly as it used to earlier. If anyone finds a solution do post it here.
Not looking at a factory resetting the phone as I do not have the entire backup of my phone.

You should try a factory reset then.

You can try this alternative solution:
Go to settings > Apps > Hit the "Plus" or "more" dots button > Reset by default
It might help to fix and reset everything for each single app in terms of notifications, datas, permissions, specific actions linked to your apps.
Give it a try and let's see what happened for you guys, and it won't delete anything in your phone, no worries,
