Just to let everyone who is still on the Threshold 2 branch of Windows 10 (great for older Lumias that were never supported for Redstone, or if you want a more stable branch of W10M) that 10586.839 has dropped today (March 2017 Patch Tuesday)
If your phone is reporting that no updates are available and you are currently on either 8.1 or a 10.0.10586.xxx build lower than .839, update to at least 10586.107 first and then apply the Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise provisioning package and select the Current Branch for Business ("defer upgrades") to receive the latest Threshold 2 update. This should work on all Lumias that shipped with WP8.x except the 4 GB ones that could never run any version of W10M.
Keep enjoying those great Nokia devices!

I was an insider user, but my phone was damaged
I had the last build 10586 ...
Can I still download updates on another phone?
Windows 10 mobile preview?
Could you give me the name of the app that is used to be insider?
I have 7 months without phone lumia
Now have a L521

No app or other phone needed - just use the provisioning package (ppkg file) to upgrade to Enterprise edition, tick defer upgrades, then check for updates. If you're still on 8.1, update to 10586.107 using the offline update package first.
Here's my review... So far, this build is the best W10M build for unsupported phones. It's very responsive, nearly as fast as Redstone yet as stable as 10586.107. There are some minor UI improvements too from the previous build
Works on L925 (32GB), now downloading .839.

RS1 is.... ?
I have 10.0.14393.693 on my 430, thank to dhtupgradeadvisor.
For non supported phones is 10586.839 more suitable. Here Maps, Here Drive +work on it.
I agree, the Here apps do indeed still work if you use the slightly older versions from before they added the expiry date to them, and 10586.xxx is nice and stable whereas there seem to be a lot of reports of bugs with Redstone and later branches of W10M - also it was kinda supported on the older Lumias via the original Insider Preview so is designed to run on older hardware and lower amounts of RAM.

RS1 builds are faster actually, but they're not really stable on unsupported devices. Glance doesn't work out of the box, RAW camera capture doesn't work, Daylight white balance doesn't work, etc.
Its a 512 MB ram device....give him a chance

Is it possible to backup 10586.839 update cabs from softwaredistributions\download\ folder and do the update using IUTool.exe in case someday the business branch reaches Redstone? Or does anyone know how to read GetDULogs.exe output? It's kinda hard since the generated csv doesn't mention which cabs were used to update the system

It's meant to be possible to download all the cabs from the Microsoft Update Catalogue (people have posted lists above in this thread, or you can get all the links from the Catalogue itself, this search shows the more recent Threshold 2 branch updates with the latest one (.873 for April 2017) being at the top: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=10586 all mobile phone) and then install them using iutool.exe, but when I tried this before discovering the "defer upgrades" method I kept getting an error at "preparing updates 2%". I was trying with all of the packages (for the various devices) and both cbs and cbsu sets of packages i.e. all of the files on the Update Catalogue, perhaps it only works if you copy across only specific ones with iutool.exe but I couldn't work out which ones I needed. The reliable way to update a device offline which I have tested and works great is using WSUS, here's how to set it up: https://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-10-mobile/how-to-wsus-windows-server-update-t3574739

this is where I am puzzled.. It installs 'beta', im already on beta, build 7712, then it installs the bundle 'beta cleanup, and brought my phone to 7720.68
Im not sure if I am on final mango or not.. I read at many places the "cleanup" is meant to prepare wp7 mango beta users for final mango.
Btw, I still do not have hidden ssid function which is supposed to b with final mango.
The third update, is the firmware update for LG phones.
Anyone here has similar experience?

I'm on xbods hd7 rom and have 7720.68 but don't recall any updates being installed. Just the cab deployer (which may have downloaded updates?)
My touchexplorer and advnaced config both either don;t work or throw errors now which others have reported is the case when on the final mango.
I'd like to know the exact build number of the final mango, i did tweet the wp7 account asking this same question.

7720.68 is the final build of the OS version. It's really the firmware numbers that really count, and those come from the carrier/manufacturer, and will be all over the place since everyone has got different devices and device configurations.

best way to upgrade from LMY47X.N920AUCU2APB2 to MMB29K.N920AUCS4CQA1
Hi,
Thanks a ton for the update!! I have a at&t note-5 being used on t-mobile and is currently on build number:LMY47X.N920AUCU2APB2(mar 2016 update) and I was wondering as to how to upgrade to the latest version MMB29K.N920AUCS4CQA1. Since I can't get my hands on a at&t sim I will need to update it manually. Could anybody please guide me as to what is the best way to get to the latest version. I did search the forum but there seem to multiple and sometimes confusing ways so wanted a little clarity on that. Thanks in advance!!
You can ODIN from your desktop PC directly to *****PK1
After that, you would then use ADB from your desktop PC (USB debugging enabled) to sideload the subsequent updates to your device as Nobarb suggested. However that last step would wipe your device (so a backup will be necessary).
I'm in the same boat as you are, so I'm just waiting for the next official update (or something flashable in ODIN to get me back up to date)

Hey Guys
Frija is a new tool (successor of now depreciated tool SamFirm) which allows users to download latest firmware for their device which can be flashed with Odin.
Frija can download Firmware for any Samsung Devices at High Speed.
Auto mode detects any Samsung Phone Model and CSC and finds all the required information directly from Samsung Server.
Frija downloads firmware directly from Samsung FUS (Firmware Update Server) without any third party websites being involved. It can pause/resume firmware downloads, even after network interruption, or app restart (if download was interrupted).
Frija comes with built in Support form, through which you can reach out to developer about any issues or bugs. Frija has built in App Updater, whenever new release of Frija is available users will be able to update to latest version of the app.
Frija does not have any Background or Startup services, which some users might be concerned about.
It also comes with Night theme, for those who prefer Night Mode on the app

Fun fact about Frija: Frija is named after wife of Odin who can see future (In Norse Mythology) can download latest firmwares which can be flashed using Odin which uses Heimdall (A protocol that connects to a mobile device over USB) and Loke (low-level software running on the device). It kinda added a missing piece to the naming convention Samsung has.
This tool was created by wssyncmldm with contribution from CrazyApe and eragon5779. Devs receive all the support message directly and they are actively working on the app to fix any bugs or issue.

For now the software is for Windows only. As for now the developer doesn't have any plans to release the code to the public.
I have been a long time user of SamFirm, it was always the best way to get firmware as soon as it is avaialble. I really appreciate your work on this project. I tested it out for myself and it works Great! Thanks!!!

That's sad to hear. I''m not willing to setup a windows installation somewhere just to run some closed source code. Opening the source would make it possible for others to port the code to linux or at least have a look at it and audit it. Not only for security concerns but also to hunt bugs and report them. I'm really uncomfortable running closed source software from a random guy on some random internet forum.
Looks cool! I would prefer it to run on my Chromebook... someday. Cheers

Making source open is not going to help someone port it, since it uses 3 libraries made by Samsung to get info about download link and download the firmware which are only available for windows

I'm also a Linux user. I do have Windows on one of my partitions, but I'll have to wait for more users to report on Frija before I trust it enough to run it. With that said, I appreciate the effort and the work put into developing a useful program like that, and I hope its developers don't take my distrust as an insult.

So I've been patiently waiting on my LMG710ULM device to get Android 10 here in the US. I've seen nothing and all my LG tools (Bridge, Support Tool) are showing G710ULM20f (Android 9, February patch) as the latest software.
Please tell me there will be something available for this device soon? I purchased this Unlocked specifically to ensure I'd get the updates faster than they would come from a Verizon locked phone. Just not feeling the love back from LG that I show to their phones. To clarify...I can't root this device because I have it registered with my work to get all my mobile tools (Teams, Outlook, Authenticator), so I have to wait on an official release.

Also, if you want to root it, you could use an app that lets you use the work profile (like shelter) and use work apps there

Yes, OTA is supported on the Beta, if you've officially opted into the Google Beta program.

Are you saying that you have a version of Android 13 older than Beta 4.1 (build TPB4.220624.008)? If TPB4.220624.008 is what you have, then you have the latest.
By the wording of the OP, it sounds like you opted into the Beta program officially, so when there are new versions (or the Stable version which will likely come out in a month from now), you will get the OTA to it.
