I just rooted my samsung A5 520FD and realised i disabled a very important feature, secure folder (previously my knox) iam just curious is there any way to develop a superstock kernel like S7 have so rooted devices can regain features like android pay and secure folder.?
It is possible, kernel sources are released so there is a begin. We just need someone who can make kernels and add missing sources.
Atm no one is developing for the Samsung that I know.

When I try to build from G930F kernel sources with defconfig modified for my device, random reboots occur when connected to USB, which drives me crazy.

Yup I changed dtb.img too and applied every ramdisk change from the original kernel. Still reboots randomly.
Btw I just flashed your kernel and it's working well on my G930K, except for dmb. Nice so far.

Your phone is encrypted mate you need to go into recovery and format data then reflash rom and kernel

Everything was working as far as I could remember, private mode etc.
I've since wiped that device.
According to what I've seen its also working on nougat.

Thats not true mate. I don't know where u checked it but definitely not on A5 2017 I checked many times. Further mod was released back in 2014 and plenty have changed since then. Secure folder works only with custom kernel with fake know support.

Hmm maybe, possibly a custom kernel was required. I didn't pay much mind to the details when I read it.
Have you tried Magisk. Magisk is able to fake knox and hide root.

Depends if there is a dev willing to port it over, which would require the dev to own this device. If you are willing to donate your device, I'm pretty sure somebody would be willing to port Lineage OS for it. If not, you will just have to wait until a dev gets a hold of this.

Hi XDA I bet you heard that a week ago a lucky guy received Oreo update for his S7E and since then users kept asking him for a system dump So he finally uploaded, and i have extracted it successfully.

P.S : Because system has been extracted in windows there are 2 files with the same name but different in caps they are libblurdetection and libBlurdetection so they wont replace each other i rename libBlurdetection to libBlurdetection1.so
