Boot loop problem- - 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I received this Kindle HD 8.9 from a friend. I'm not sure what they did, but it says this when I try to boot:
Kindle Fire System Recovery
Your Kindle doesn't seem to be able to boot. Resetting your device to Factory defaults may help you to fix this issue.
Volume up/down to move highlight;
power button to select.
Reboot your Kindle
Reset to Factory Defaults
I tried both and it still comes up.
I see this problem on the forum before, but it was a few years ago.
Help would be much appreciatedno
Thank you.

How do I install this driver found in this guy's signature?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45621137&postcount=7

I just need the stock recovery and bootloader images now. I messed up and overwrote them! I have the stock system image. Help would be much appreciated.

Fire Brick Issue

Hello all,
Yesterday I tried to do a fresh install of the stock software coming from AOKP ICS Rom. It says everything went fine in twrp. I also wiped the cache and delvik cache before the flash of the new software. When I rebooted the fire from twrp, I get the stock Kindle Fire boot logo, and its bright light its supposed to be. But then it dims down barely visible in the daylight and hangs there. It is non responsive. It does show up in device manager. I have tried using the Kindle Fire utility and it sees the fire, and when I tell it to go into fastboot mode the fire will reboot once and does the same thing. Hangs at the dim boot logo. I have tried the unbrick software for kindle fire and always gets the the point "waiting for device" and hangs. On the Kindle fire unbrick, If I choose the Stuck at logo option I get 2 error lines. they both say - exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -"
these 2 lines are followed by Congrats, you kindle fire should be unbricked, but nothing changes. Let me know what my other options are. I have tried to re-root the device and its unresponsive.
Thanks,
Nick
I should add that if I put adb devices into command prompt it does show up.
Well your buggered you should have done a full wipe factory reset cache dalvik and system before flashing stock now its stuck trying to restore the data that you should have wiped no fff no recovery which now you need to fix it so your best bet is fire kit or a factory cable to fast boot flash a new boot loader and twrp

I figured that the factory cable was the only solutions. I tried the fire kit already. I have contacted and ordered a factory cable from ScOrPn. I will follow up with results.
FIXED!
Factory cable did it. I wish I would have owned one of these the whole time I have been using the fire. Thanks again everyone for the input.

[Q] Kindle keeps rebooting

Hi,
I have a big problem. I have a kindle Fire and I had TWRP installed. I installed a stock rom and it removed both TWRP and FFF. Now every time I turn it on and slide the lock over I get error messages. they are as followes:
Calander Storage (process com.android.providers.calandar) has stopped unexpectedly. ((FORCE CLOSE BUTTON))
process com.android.acore has stopped unexpectedly. ((FORCE CLOSE BUTTON))
This repeates as soon as I press the force close.
Then the Kindle Fire reboots.
If I type ADB Devices I get 4458002600000001 device
if I use the KFU it reports
ADB STATUS : Online
Boot Status :4000
none of the options work as I keep getting errors in FKU
Is it hopeless?
Please help me as the warrantee is done and I NEED IT BACK BADDDDDD
Thanks
Don't wait for it to fc on you race it to factory reset in the kindle settings and reset it or get a factory cable to force it into fastboot so you can reflash twrp and fff and then flash a rom.
Not sure what you are saying

I don't Understand what you mean by your post.
My kindle keeps rebooting BEFORE I can factory reset. I can get to the settings screen, but it only goes so far and reboots.
I am a newb so to speak and appreciate the help. Just wondering if you could give me specific details to follow. Have read posts but nothing stated works.
This is making me crazy.
There wasn't any hidden meaning in my suggestion some manage to be fast enough to make it to settings to factory reset it before it reboots. If it's not possible for you then a factory cable is needed. Hold the power button for 30 seconds till you are assured it is off then try the race from that powered off position anything you can do to shave time in your effort or gain a few seconds to reach the factory reset.
You r amazing

I am having this same issue, KFU says its still online 4000 but doesn't let me go into fastboot. Please help.
Try Soupkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 if it still doesn`t work get a factory cable post # 9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392693 .
This happened to me. I just turned it off, turned it back on, opened KFU, and rooted from there. I installed twrp Then mounted, copied the stock rom, wiped everything, copied stock by mounting again, and installed it. If it doesn't work then use soup kit or a factory cable
Devices:
Kindle Fire with AlienDroid primary and Modaco secondary
I can turn it on without a problem the problem is when it turns on I get the same error messages like in the first post and before I can erase everything it reboots. When I attach to KFU it says it's online and 4000 if I tell it to go to fastboot it says waiting on device.
On KFU, Just click root. Remember, this is while it is booting. By the way, what rom did you install. if you got it off Amazon and renamed it to Update. zip, after installing ics or jb, then my way should work. just keep trying and don't give up.
Devices:
Kindle Fire with AlienDroid primary and Modaco secondary
All fixed now, easiest way to fix it was to go into applications and clear data of the affected apps (calendar, keyboard and contacts) and it cleared right up and booted normally and now I am back to stock. Just glad it was something so easy. Took a couple of times of the kindle fire rebooting but finally was able to clear out the data affected.
should've thought of that at first. good job.

Red Triangle Kindle can't boot.

I brought a Kindle Fire 2nd Gen and wanted to root it. As soon as I took it out of the box it started updating itself to 10.2.3. When I attempted to root it, it started working very slow and the boot logo would randomaly appear and now after alot of searching and trying to fix I now have a red triangle with the message
"Your Kindle device cannot boot.
You can reset your device to Factory defaults to fix this issue (all data will be deleted from the device).
<Menu options>
To reboot your device press and hold the power button for 4 seconds and release.
To reset to Factory Defaults, press the power button 5 times in succession"
Restarting doesn't work nor does trying to reset to Factory Defaults it simply goes back to the same screen.
you're boned contact amazon and tell them that it just keeps going to that screen... DO NOT SAY THAT YOU TRIED TO ROOT IT.

Don'y know what you did in the end, if you contacted Amazon for a replacement, or if you acquired a Factory cable.
This should be recoverable by using a special Factory cable to get Fastboot mode, from which you can flash backed up partitions.
Ideally you should backup your own partitions on your new KF2 straight after rooting it. This thread has the instructions:

Hi,
I have the same problem right now, with the same device... can you please tell me if you fixed it and how? But please bare with me, I am a total beginner. I don't have a factory cable, can I fix it without it? If I order one, i need to wait approx. 40 days to get it.
Thank you

[Q] Problem with fff(I assume)

Ok, so I decided to flash my KF with CM10. To do this I did the standard KFU superuser, installed TWRP, and fff. After I flashed with TWRP the Google apps and CM everything worked okay, but I noticed that my Google apps are nonexistent. So, I thought I would reflash with TWRP, which is where the problem lies. Whenever I reboot my device I get the KF logo, except white and blue, telling me to press power button to change boot, which I have tried but to no avail, and it goes straight to the CM10 boot. I thought okay maybe I can get around this by downloading Goo Manager onto my device to flash the GApps. This didn't work. So finally I just assumed my TWRP screwed up so I downloaded the recovery package from Goo Manager. This also didn't work. Also, KFU doesn't recognize it.
Right now I'm assuming the problem is fff because I've never seen this blue boot screen. If someone could help me just get TWRP back to working or even just stock KF I would be much obliged.
If I understand you correctly, I then think you have no clue what TWRP or at least FFF is about. I hope I am wrong.
Alright, after installing FFF, you will DO SEE the Kindle Fire logo with blue (the Fire is in Blue) and it will ask you to press the power button to get into either normal boot, recovery boot and one more which I forgot. That's what it should be. I don't know what your problem is.
Anyway, from that Kindle Fire blue screen, press the power button and select boot to recovery to get in TWRP.
I might speak entire wrong here, though.

From what Brandon is saying, I think you hit it on the head.
One note: it takes several seconds to access the recovery from the fff 1.4a blue kindle fire logo. Once that screen pops up, hold the power button for about three seconds till recovery is selected at bottom.
It doesn't appear that you actually have a problem, either, but just a misunderstanding of what your kindle should look like.

When I attempt to boot to recovery I get no TWRP. The screen flashes then the normal Kindle Fire boot screen shows, then another flash and back to blue sccreen
Again, I assume you know how to do it, how to boot into recovery.
If you do it correctly and still can't get in then reinstall FFF using KFU.
If you don't know how to, then search Youtube, there's tons of videos showing how.

Yeah and it worked, but after restoring back to stock kf it kept sayin that process had stopped working and never allowing me to actually set the damn thing up. So reflashed CM10 and it keeps looping the boot screen, showing a quick image of the home screen then restarting the process. Long holding the power restarts the device, allowing me to get to fff but I still can't seem to get TWRP to show up unless I tell it to fast boot on the computer and since it never actually gets to TWRP or the OS I see no way to mount it.

How did you restore to stock? That isn't what I told you to do...
When you plug it into the computer, what happens?
And also, when you reboot it, and you hold the power button at the blue screen with the menu at bottom, what happens? Does it cycle through three choices? If it does, wait till it selects the second one and let go.

Well I did do what you told me to do I reinstalled TWRP and fff and tried to install gapps. Well long story short nothing happened. So I did do what you told me to do. Anyways, the only thing that happens when I hit recovery is it strangely goes to the normal orange kf boot for a couple second, back to blue kf boot but with no boot option and back to annoying CM10 boot loop I previously described.

Follow what you are saying is really a headache. You keep saying you did this and did that and that and this and I'm lost. Slow down.
Go one by one, answer what jma asked.
Forget what you have done to your KF, tell us what it is like now.
1. Can you get into the recovery? I ask again 'cuz you previously claimed you knew how to, then you didn't then you did.
2. During power up, do you see Kindle Fire with blue logo?
3. Right after that do you hold the power button?
4. Do you see it cycle through the menu of 3?

Alright, sorry bout that I guess
1. If by recovery you mean TWRP, then no I don't believe so
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Yes, but all options take me to the CM10 boot except recovery which takes me to regular stock orange kf boot for a few seconds then back to blue without the options but just boots
Hope that's a bit more clear, I guess I'm kindave panicking with my kindle being on the fritz and all. But you my good sir have been very patient and for that I thank you.

Okay, two things:
1) The reason you keep getting stuck at the CyanogenMod logo is because you're not wiping data (factory reset) before installing the ROM.
2) I'm very concerned because it seems that you may not know what generation of Kindle Fire you're using. You are posting in the 1st generation KF forums, but by your description you seem to have a 2nd generation KF. You need to clarify which device you have before someone gives you directions that would permanently brick your device.

Well, you never know around here...
Since that's the case, it seems like you have a bootloader installed on the recovery partition. Your device's original bootloader is working as it should (orange KF logo), but when you change the bootmode to recovery, it boots into what should be the custom recovery, but instead is the FireFireFire bootloader. BUT...that's a best guess based on what I can piece together from the information you've provided. (I've avoided responding to this post for exactly this reason).
The problem is, your information is all over the place and much of it contradicts itself. In one post, you say you have the blue KF logo, but then in the same post, you say don't. Then you say you used TWRP to install a custom ROM, but then you can't access TWRP? But then you say you restored the device to stock using TWRP, and yet you can't access TWRP after that.
Perhaps you could explain in a clear and concise manner what your problem is, being as detailed as humanly possible, because as it stands now, you're not making any sense.

Okay I'll try again, the only times I have actually been able to use TWRP is when installing it in kfu. I don't believe that it actually installed anything but it just sends it to fastboot, now I could be incorrect but what I believe is happening is the kfu is telling the kf to go to fastboot to install but TWRP is already installed because nothing ever downloads.
Is that what normally happens when you hit recovery on the fff screen? Does the TWRP require fastboot or is mine just really messed up?

Something about this just doesn't add up.
Try this...
1) Download the recovery flashable .zip of FireFireFire1.4a
2) Reinstall TWRP using KFU and boot into it.
3) Use TWRP to flash the recovery flashable fff-u-boot_v1.4a.zip and reboot.
If the problem persists, take a video of it, and post it here so we can get a better idea of what's actually going on.

Factory reset FTV

I did a factory reset on my rooted FTV by pressing the back button, and right button. Now the FTV is stuck on the intro video, and keeps looping the video. How can I fix this?
Kind of same issue myself lol.. I wiped system, now its stuck on Amazon logo on boot. Tried unbrick image, all installed fine, but still doesn't boot into FireTv. Got recovery back using unbrick method however!
Anyone help?
Hey try this fix mentioned here it actually work for me!
