NOF27B update causing FC - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

After installing the latest factory image I am now getting FC on almost every app. Anyone else having this happen?

Check the md5 of the file you downloaded and compare it to the md5 on the factory images site.

I'm not seeing anything like that. Did you run flash all?

I've been getting more than normal FCs but not a ton. Maybe a handful a day for the last 3 days. I received my update via OTA

Ahh I see! Thank you for confirming.
I'm running the latest but I did wipe everything and went back to locked bootloader. I actually never used my XL on stock at all. Rooted the moment I opened the dang box, lol.
Edit: Have you tried clearing cache and dal?

Okay cool. That is weird. What apps are force closing? I can mess around and test later after I get home to see what happens by doing exactly what you did.

Maybe clear cache of those specific apps as well and see if that helps.

With some FC with Google Apps in the past I have cleared cache, logged out of Google account on phone, reboot log back in and it was fixed. Again, I have not had this specific issue with my Pixel XL but it might be worth a try.

Not really odd. Dirty flashing has always been a known culprit for issues after updating. The dirty system finally caught up to you lol.

Di2 incredibly slow

I woke up today, discovered my phone getting it's @$$ kicked by nothing literally. It wasn't touched at all. Even during the night nothing was running I make sure to close all things before I set my phone down, anyways getting on with it.. It is just SO sluggish words cannot describe how sluggish it is right now. I've wiped everything and tried a new rom with no success, still doing the same thing. Anyone know why this is happening? Hardware issues?

Phone stuck in boot animation

So last night I left my phone off and on charge to charge my main battery. I went to turn it on this morning and it won't get past the boot animation, even after 20 minutes. I've tried booting with both batteries, with no luck. I'm currently running PitchBlack 2.0 (4.2.2) and haven't had this sort of problem until now. I tried wiping cache+dalvik and that didn't work. I've left my phone sitting for a while still with no luck. Any suggestions? I wanna try everything before I try resetting my phone.

I reflashed my rom (flash+wipe cache+dalvik) and still nothing, so I'm gonna try and reflash AK Kernel and see what happens.
And flashing the kernel did nothing. I'm gonna wait and see if any more suggestions come up. If not I'll do a full wipe and either flash a new rom or PitchBlack 2.1.

I don't know... I'm waiting for my GNEX to come next weekend, so I don't have much experience with the device, but I had an HTC One X.. On the HOX I had a problem too, and I flashed the stock rom again and again untill it was solved
If this doesn't help and you are already on the stock rom, you could lock your bootloader and send the GNEX back under warranty..?

When it is disabled, does the update go away, or is it still on my G3 waiting to be installed?

[ISSUES] Android Nougat. Cant turn on wifi, performance dropdown

I upgraded my phone to Android Nougat OTA yesterday. Tried to turn on wifi but nothing happened. I also issued performance dropdown and overheating. I did a factory reset but it didn't fix the problem.
Well sounds like something went wrong. May need to factory reset or load a factory image (once avliable) which would be best.
You can screw around with trying to reflash the OTA package otherwise.

I don't have this issue.
What I did is, flashed full OTA zip using ADB sideload, and then I did a factory reset.
No performance dropdown, no overheat.
Although some old apps are getting force close frequently, updating them solved it.

Nexus 5X, unrooted, T-Mobile OTA update to Nougat. Tried the following and none resolved the wifi issues:
1. Rebooted phone.

5. Reinstalled latest Google Connectivity Services.

I would say you're safe to flash a us firmware but only flash the 10 sparsechunks, recovery , boot img and OEM IMG if you flash and modem file or any other file you'll end up losing your IMEI.
But you're always taking a chance.
