Today we want to inform you that the source code of the elePhone S7 is now free and you can access it right now.
Now users can develop better third-party ROMs and customize them with their likes !!
The link doesn't work for me

Yes
It's the capital H in the link maybe.
Anyways it's like Xmas. I hope to see a better ROM than stock soon. It's started to get slower and slower, my old Samsung galaxy s5 is quicker..

Hey everyone. I am just getting into development and am looking for some experience in the field. I know it is not easy, but, if someone is not already working on this, would anyone like to join me in an attempt to port a touchwiz android 4.2.1 ROM from the international GS3 to all carrier variant GS3s? If so, respond here, or PM me. I am really interested in getting the ball rolling on this as the new touchwiz features intrigue me, but as a high school student I have no money for a galaxy s4.
Thanks for your interest.

I don't even think its possible to port from international..
I mean in general is it, but its completely rewriting everything from scratch since US and International is completely different hardware... That's why no one has done it.
Anyone feel free to correct me but OP, if you want to really accomplish this, you have a LONG way to work. Its easier to cook your own TW ROM

I was just wondering, because it has all of the new touchwiz functionality from the galaxy s4 (minus some of the hardware dependent stuff) so it just seemed like a cool idea. Maybe I can just get the cam, gallery, and some other stuff to work with our current touchwiz/android version.

That's if they even release TW source code... Which they probably wont since its closed sourse... The only hope is waiting for the US variant, but even with the US variant, its still closed. This is something extreme lol most elite devs won't even mess with TW since no code makes it extremely difficult... But we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, It is rather annoying. But is TW being closed source a new thing? Because if I remember correctly, some, if not all, of the Galaxy S3 TW versions were available open source.

The only source Samsung releases consist of kernel source code and various stock stuff. None of the stuff they release is for TW...
Touchwiz is and always has been closed source. If code was released for TW those featured would of already been implemented to AOSP based roms.

Hi,
Some of you guys may remember, some of you may not, but soon after our Note 2 was released there was an avalanche of ROMs for Note 1 with features ported from Note 2, like for instance Airview in gallery and videos (Note 1 didn't have that) and multitasking. Some waited for an official ROM by Samsung, and when it eventually came, with la few months of delay, some of those features ported from Note 2 still weren't included.
What I'm saying here is, instead of waiting for that October release, ( http://youtu.be/VbsAslbUYx0?t=50m52s ) those that know how to port are invited to make cool ROMs that have these kind of features from Note 3 and maybe Samsung Galaxy S4 included. (who knows if Samsung is not going to delay the Note2 update again like it did with Note 1 having in view that Android 4.4 is expected to be launched on Oct 14 or maybe they'll surprise us and the October release will jump directly to KitKat )
Now I don't expect this to be easy, porting apps that were made for Android 4.3 and with FHD screen resolution in mind, but I'm just asking this if it's possible.
If you know such ROMs and I missed them, please post them in this thread. Thanks.
(So far these apps from Note 3 seem to work fine on Note 2: Bloomberg+, MagazineHome+Flipboard, SketchBook see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335530 )

you have me, your loyal Minitab users... :good::good::good::good:
still waiting for your v7
Sorry but when is the update coming? not a single update since november? i can understand the diffuculty of pushing it through carriers but even for the WIFI p600, no update has arrived. I wonder if it will even arrive before the summer.
No one knows. We will have to wait till Samsung rolls out a testfirmware or a leak.

Just don't ask for ETA.T_T. Samsuck.
frustrated
Its so frustrating because all the new tablets have 4.4.2 and they have identical specs asides from screen size and a multitasking button. I have been a long time apple user and "converted" to android about 9 months ago. I had an iphone then got the htc one then got the Note 3. I traded my ipad for the note 2014. I love android but I feel like the notion I am getting from android manufacturers is if you want the latest upgrade youre going to have to buy the newest device. Sorry for the rant.
With Samsung you'll need some patience.
Actually they are rolling this update out to a fair amount of their products, we are in line.....

Probably at the end of the line.
Not too big a deal imo, but the performance increase in KitKat would be sweet to have.
Like Khairy said the Galaxy Tab Pro. 10.1 is identical except for the 1 gig of ram and the S-pen. It can't be that difficult to get our Kitkat update out.

Samsung is slow with updates. I just got 4.4.2 on my S4 if you want OS updates faster you have to get a Nexus device.
It's just the way it is I can't wait for KitKat on my Note 10.1 I like it on the S4.
I only got jelly bean on my Note 2 the other day...so don't hold your breath
At the very least fix the lag on a lot of the animations, I feel like samsung is trying to get me to buy a pro series tablet. I guess 600 isn't pro enough.

I just hope it doesn't mess with my SD card access, otherwise I shall wait.
My note is just as I like it at the moment.
Seriously why do people keep asking when it's coming? That's not gonna change anything and we know just as much as you. Google it or something. Be patient people! You'll get it when you get it!

KitKat for P600 is out
:good:
It was just released
Check in the General area for the link to the download. As for myself, I'm waiting for a dev to release a custom ROM for my P500.:fingers-crossed:

I'll die of old age before ATT releases any update for Note 2...beyond the security patches they were pressured into.....IMHO
This incredibly talented developer I know....is knee deep in "M" code already...and will surely put out a fine AOSP marshmallow build that trumps any carrier release...

Not asking for any ETA but just wondering if there's any progress or hope for marshmallow for our beloved note 2?? (Just wondering BC over in the moto g 2014 section they already have an unofficial cm13 working but I prefer my note 2 over my moto g lol) thanks

I'm sure that "M" is being worked on...but I have no knowledge of when we may see a preview....
We have a great bunch of devs around here...and they love peace and quiet which allows them time to work on newer and better code...
I'm going to wait it out...because I know they won't disappoint.....g

Was afraid of that...but I'm not surprised.
Now we are completely dependent on the amazing talent of our generous devs.
AOSP should be okay...and fairly quick I hope....otherwise I'll stay on "L" until the devices I own finally crap out....then I really don't know after that....g
My Note is so beat up at this point I need AOSP for on screen navigation bar and other things. I had to use ADB to get into recovery because the home key doesn't work. So glad that open source exists to continue updates for our phone and computers (I use Linux for old laptops too). Awesome.

Yes. I still haven't left my Note 2 due to the amazing ROMs we still have.
I am amazed T-Mobile is still on 4.3 while att is on 4.4.
Is it just me, but nobody... Not even CyanogenMod have Roms for the S6 Edge?
Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk
Nobody, unless you want international roms from the international thread.
This is not your average android.
Pp.
well S6 or s6 edge is using 64 bit chip + their CPU was made by the Samsung, and there is very limited resource. I remember there is a guy attempt to make a CM room but he stop.
I did not know. Figure it wouldn't be any different since they are all just built off of the actual android releases by Google

It has a lot to do with the chipset in the device. Most Qualcomm devices get AOSP roms pretty quick because Qualcomm releases their source codes, but this is an Exynos device, and Samsung is bad at releasing source codes unfortunately. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.
Glad my other Exynos device has no issue. I'd die if that beautiful work of art had to stick to TW
