Root is lost after 10 minutes - Moto Z Play Questions & Answers

Hello everybody. There is a problem. Has successfully flashed twrp. Then I have the SU flashed and the Moto Z Play starts normally. But after a good 10 minutes the root is lost. Had installed Titanium Backup and allowed the root access. After about 10 minutes tells me then Titanium Backup it would be no root installed. Now I am back in the TWRP the SU flashed and again completely normal started. Now the game starts again. First is root available and after a good 10 minutes he is gone again. Can one please help me? I am very grateful for any help.

You must be using aosip ROM?

Hello
Thank you for your quick response.
So before I do something wrong again I just ask here.
As soon as I have TWRP installed and go to the TWRP menu I get the indication that I should allow the modification. This I confirm with a wipe to the right. Is that so far correct?
Then I install the SU and let the MZP restart.
I would like to install this rom, [Rome] [Stock 6.0.1 MM] Single Sim & Dual Sim [MSTLA] Deodexed, and everything runs super?
Thank you for any helpful reply

[Q] rooted - gapps not working

So in my infinite drunken wisdom I decided to root my Galaxy last night...
(First time I root a cellphone, I have rooted Kindles before)
I found a video online, followed directions and it was a breeze..
Until I decided it was not "custom" enough and I install CyanogedMod
Google was missing so I downloaded, boot phone and install from boot
Some APS installed, some did not...
When I reboot my phone there is a flashing window, I can't really tell what it says because it goes away before I can read it
---
I know I messed up something...
There is no keyboard now...
Unfortunately, Android keyboard (AOSP) has stopped
Appears when I try to use keyboard
How can I make it work?
Please help
go into recovery mode clear data/cache/dalvic. now reflash your rom with the gapps package clear cache/dalvik reboot
Yeah...
Is not working
Phone starts with "updating apps" # of 83
After the updating is done, cyro starts again... and I get the "Keyboard" is not working message
OK, i already did the whole process a couple of times...
I keep getting the same error, the keyboard
I think the problem is with cyanogen, i don't know how to uninstall/replace it
OK, i got it working
I had to install a different version of gapps
gapps-jb-20130301-signed
that version did it for me
thanks for your help, though

[Q] Hot to root, install recovery and ROM on a SM-T805? Confusing info out there!

Hi there,
I have a SM-T805 from a few months, and I grew tired of its lags and sloppiness. I've tried to read many threads to find the most simple way too root, install TWRP and a ROM, but most of the threads are old and quite confusing.
So... could someone please tell me, step by step and with the proper links, how to ROOT and install TWRP in the easiest and most safe way?
Thanks a lot!

You don't need to ROOT 'AND' install TWRP.
Just install TWRP and it will root for you.
You can use the version below if you wish which I built, I have updated the Super su root files and fixed an issue with the wrong reboot option showing - BOOTLOADER instead of DOWNLOAD mode.
Just install via ODIN then boot into TWRP, select reboot from within TWRP and it will ask if you wish to root your device. After that your device will be rooted with the latest updated root.
unofficial-twrp-2.8.5.0-chagall
Did it and installed Iron Rom. Thanks a lot
I have one problem... after I installed TWRP and rooted, with ANY rom I install, included the original one, I get the "no connection" error with every single app from google. In other words, I can't use the tablet. It's like Google knows the tablet is rooted and blocks it. How can I solve this?
Try resigning into your Google account. If that doesn't work clear cache and data for Google play services.

I found out that when I'm rooted, Android automatically sets my wifi connection behind a non-existent proxy. This happens in EVERY ROM I install, from the original one to Cyanogen. I just have to disable that proxy and everything works. WTF.

Root broken after nightly cm12.1 update

I am not very knowledgeable with the android operating system as a whole, I tried to learn as much as I can but mostly just wanted functionality so I installed cm12.1 for simplicity and root capabilities. Everything was going fine until one day the superuser built into cm12 stopped working after a nightly update(about 3 weeks ago i think), I didn't know what to do, so I tried downloading the app superuser from the play store. When I launched the app there was a notification saying the binaries needed updating and it wasn't working so I found the xda tread for SU 2.46 and downloaded it from chainfire's website. Then everything was back to normal, root checker was showing proper root and all apps were working fine.
When I updated to the current nightly (20151229) and booted back up I had the same problem where root checker shows no root and none of my apps work. So I thought all I need to do is reflash the binaries for SU. After I selected to reboot but right after the s4 mini screen it goes to a black screen and stays there.
Just reading about superuser now, I read that there can only be one super user method so I am thinking that when I downloaded SU from the play store I broke the cm12 internal rooting method, which caused real problems when I flashed the nightly as it overwrote that new method.
What I don't get is why cm12's superuser stopped working in the first place? If somebody knows what I am doing wrong I would really appreciate the help!
My plan as of now is to try and remove the app cleanly remove the app superuser and hopefully restore function to the in built cm12 superuser.
PLEASE HELP :cyclops:

Im trying to unlock the bootloader using freegee but when i open it it goes into a black screen and makes my phone to lag until i close it. I have installed busybox and im rooted. Thanks in advance.
Same Problem here on my LGOG E975.
Tried different versions und even factory reset my phone. Nothing worked.
After installing old APK and then the version from the store it started but couldn't copy the utilities twice. (Something like that.)

So I found the problem. Though every Rootchecker and SuperSU showed me that I have rooted my phone, it wasn't rooted.
With IOROOT I was able to really get root-rights on my phone und Freegee was no longer a problem. :victory:

Hope this helps when someone stumbles over this thread.
E975:
Flash Euro 10H -> Update to Euro 20A, use towelroot to root, instal supersu from GP and busybox installer, open supersu, update binary as normall, next go to settings, uncheck Mount Namespace Separation, reboot, open busybox and install, reboot, install freegee from GP and make backup efs, copy efs backup to computer, next choose twrp Option, mako and thats all, it working for me :good:

Snapchat gives "login temporarily failed" error with CM ROM

Hey guys,
I've done some searching around on this issue, and it looks like Snapchat is not allowing me to login as my device is rooted. However, I had the factory OxygenOS ROM (rooted as well) installed before and never had this issue. Now that I have installed Sultanxda's "Unofficial CyanogenMod 13.0 with custom kernel", I can no longer get Snapchat to login. Like I said, from the searching that I've done it look like it is root related, so I went into SuperSU and did a complete unroot. This still hasn't solved the issue yet, so now I'm stuck and not sure what to do. Is there something I'm missing or is there a way to solve this without having to reflash a different ROM and loose all the time spent setting this one up?
Thanks for the help!

Hi, the searching can be useful sometimes
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/5476?query=snapchat
You need an fully unrooted rom to login into snapchat, after that you can flash supersu.

Ah, looks like I just didn't search enough. This seems to have done the trick, thanks!
I think you just need to uninstall Xposed Framework for Snapchat to login and then after login you can install Xposed again.
This sounds weird but what worked for me was to download superkiwi via xposed installer, it's supposed to bypass root detection for banking apps in New Zealand but works with snapchat [emoji14]
I found this workaround in a thread somewhere and thought that it wouldn't hurt to try but actually works mighty fine!

Leaving this here in the hopes it helps someone else, took me a bit to find the correct steps.
Currently running the last official CM 13 build for the Droid Turbo (will be moving to LOS soon), rooted with SuperSU Pro, Xposed framework v87, on the newest TWRP.
Nothing worked, not Xposed Switch, Root Switch, nothing. In fact I had to reinstall Xposed Switch to be able to turn root back on, while Root Switch simply uninstalled the SuperSU binary, I had to reflash it. Finally I put it all together and in the following order I got Snapchat to work.
Make sure any OS root (my case CMroot) was turned off.
Download the correct version of Xposed framework Installer, Xposed Uninstaller, and the SuperSU binary (all flashable zip files) for your device to a location on your system that you can easily access from recovery. For me its my TWRP folder.
Uninstall Snapchat. Open a File Explorer and delete the entire Snapchat folder left over.
Select the uninstall "permanently unroot" option from SuperSU, but DON'T let it install the original... Whatever it is, the name escapes me. But don't let it!
Phone will reboot automatically after taking out root, boot to recovery, run Xposed Uninstaller, wipe Cache & Dalvik, reboot phone.
When the phone boots, confirm it is unrooted and Xposed Framework is uninstalled. A root checker app and opening the Xposed App worked for me here.
Install Snapchat, sign into Snapchat. It will accept your login if you did everything correctly.
*This step I did to save myself work in the future, but you can do it later. Turned on CMroot and took a TiBackup of logged in Snapchat in case I ever have to login again, I can just reload the data.*
Boot to recovery. Flash the Xposed framework and the SuperSU binary (in that order), wipe Cache and Dalvik, reboot system.
Open Snapchat to confirm its still logged in. If so grab a TiBack of it for use as needed later.
I hope this helps!
