This is only confirmed working for the AT&T Lumia 1520 and may work as is for other phones but also might require tweaks to the XML (see below). It is very possible to brick your phone with this. Your mileage may vary!
From a high level this works by using FiddlerCore to intercept the traffic going to the Microsoft WPflights server that controls the Insider app and responds with our own custom data. The app accepts registry editing information from the web responses and acts upon that. This allows us to write stuff to select locations in the registry. In the case of the Windows 10 Preview, it appears to only look for your phone's PhoneManufacturerModelName to decide if it should be offered previews. Windows Update also checks this value. Other devices like Samsungs or HTCs may need different settings. My phone did revert to it's factory values after Windows 10 was installed (I actually think it might have done it after Windows 8.1 was installed but it continued with 10 nonetheless).
1. For the Lumia 1520 (and other phones?) reset your phone using the Windows Phone recovery tool. I recommend not logging in and setting everything up yet and just waiting til the end and doing a reset and letting it restore after you’re on Windows 10. This may not be required for your device but most likely is due to the space issue cited by Microsoft. You can see your available space in the About menu of the Windows Insiders app. Before resetting mine was ~200mb and after it was ~600mb. You can try without resetting but may get an error after it tries to download and install the update.
2. Install the [url=http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=522524]Windows Insider app on your phone (you will need to have a store account configured)
3. Open the insiders app and go to the about options in the app bar and screenshot/make notes/email the settings to yourself. You may need this later.
4. Download and extract the WPInsidersHacks app (attached to this post) to your computer
5. Start the WPInsiderHacks app on pc, approve any firewall requests
6. Connect to the same WiFi that your PC is on. Edit the settings for the WiFi connection to turn on the Proxy and set it to use the PC’s IP address and enter 8877 for the port
7. Open Internet Explorer on your phone and navigate to http://[pc.ip.add.ress]:8877 where [pc.ip.add.ress] is the IP address of the PC running the WPInsidersHacks app
8. Tap on the link at the bottom to the fiddler root certificate
9. When prompted click open and then install to trust the cert and ok at the confirmation
10. Run the Windows Insider app and tap get preview builds
11. Tap on which custom action you’d like to perform. In my case I hit "Set to ATT Lumia 635" and click the arrow at the bottom
12. Accept the agreement and click the check mark at the bottom. the app will close
13. Now clear your proxy settings and run the insider app again
14. Tap get preview builds and login with your Microsoft account
15. Select the fast branch (if you’re reading this of course you want the fast branch) and click the arrow at the bottom
16. Go into the phone settings and check for updates. With any luck you should have Windows 10 there for you to install. On my AT&T 1520 it had to do 8.1 first but it kept going to 10 after 8.1 installed (had to check for updates again)
17. You’ll probably want to go into the settings and do another reset and then log into the phone and let it restore your previous data
The Windows Insider options are populated from the WPFlights.xml file. Feel free to edit/add stuff. I've experimented with writing to other keys but had mixed results. I wasn't able to write to the Software\Microsoft\Settings\{1DEF9B7D-2322-40eb-A007-16A75D5CDA6F} for example (seemed to not like the curly braces?). It should have all the same permissons as the preview for developers app. You'll just need to run the WPInsiderHacks app on your PC and point your phone's proxy settings to it if you want to go back and set something again (such as enabling tethering).
I just used this to install the TP on my Lumia 930 and .. it worked like a charm! phone is booting, OS is working! Thank you very much for the work you put into this! Really excited to try out the Preview now..
Edit: I did change the target device ID from ATT though.
Confirmed working for the Lumia 930
Confirmed working for the Lumia 920
I will try tomorrow on Lumia 520 and post result.
Not working on my Lumia 535
tried it on a Lumia 535. After Setting no proxy again the Windows Insider app shows that there is no update available.
the about-setting Shows RM-975 correctly instead of RM-1089, but I think the FW Version needs to be changed too.
Does anyone know a fix? Tried it several times by now.

Which carrier are you on? Sometimes you have to use device information for a phone on the same carrier as you're on for it to work.
I tried this with both a 520 and a 920. Everything works fine until I tap Get preview builds. I get the no builds message, but I know it's using the proxy because the WPInsiderHacks window gives this message:
** LogString: !SecureClientPipeDirect failed: System.IO.IOException Authenticati
on failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream. on pipe to (
CN=login.live.com, O=DO_NOT_TRUST, OU=Created by http://www.fiddler2.com)

Both devices get exactly the same result.
EDIT: I should clarify something: both the 920 and the 520 get this script. The 920 differs a bit on the device itself. Instead of going directly to the no builds page, an error pops up that says:
Server error
A connection error prevented us from downloading programs for you. Please check the date/time of your device and its network connection and try again.

Windows insider no change ?
What would the registry entry for MOID be?
I have a non AT&T carrier, and I want to change that entry to be AT&T
Tried it on my Lumia 530 don't work i get we weren't able to find a preview build for you please confirm
Working fine on my 920 now.
I just installed. Working fine here on my Lumia 720.
For those asking, I've found you absolutely have to modify the WPFlights.xml PhoneManufacturerModelName to one that matches the carrier your device is from. In my case, I have a //Build/ (Rogers Canada) Lumia 920, and a Hong Kong unlocked 620 & 1520.
I managed to spoof the build check by using the following:
Unlocked/Hong Kong: RM-1027_1007
Rogers/Canada: RM-985_1004
http://twitter.com/stroughtonsmith/status/566460948291260417
Also, wiping the devices first /with the Windows Phone Recovery Tool/ (not Reset in Settings->About) for the most part isn't optional; only the 920 for me had enough space to install without doing that
Hope this helps

You just need to change the phonemanufacturermodel to whatever phone that supports windows 10 from your carrier/region.

The line in the screenshot is what you'd need to change; nothing too complicated, but finding a valid model for your phone's carrier is the hard part (took me a lot of Googling to find the two I needed), hence why I posted mine

Not working for me. I'm having Lumia 920 and the carrier rom is RM-821_apac_australia_new_zealand_218. Here's my file attached. Am i doing something wrong?
What exactly did you google ? because the i am with is Telstra in Australia they have a prepaid Nokia Lumia 635 so where would i get the PhoneManufacturerModelName ?
German, Unlocked 830: RM-984_1002
For googling help: some forums automatically include the model variant in signatures of members, I just started with RM-984_10XX for 830 and tried increasing numbers for XX in order to find one that was posted a lot on german forums. Good luck!

Yeah, you just placed RM-821_apac_australia_new_zealand_218 into the XML - that's your existing device. You need to use the correct form for a 63x/730/830 on same carrier, not your existing 920. That's the hard part to find.
My 1520 was "RM-937_apac_hong_kong_222", which I substituted for "RM-1027_1007" (a Hong Kong Lumia 636) - from what I could tell it doesn't need the "apac_hong_kong" part, but it needs the valid number at the end, and I don't know an easy way to find out what that should be (took me 50 mins of Googling to find that one).

lmfao. I was far too lazy to try bruteforcing it, but again, that's why I posted my working ones!
Dear,
A few months ago, I've upgraded my Lumia 925 to Windows 10 (preview) using Windows Insider: it went smoothly.
I decided to go back to WP8.1 using the Lumia Recovery Tool.
Today, I tried to update (again) to one of the Windows 10 previews, but I'm unable to upgrade: no updates found.
I know MS decided to exclude Lumia 925 to Windows 10 final: but: is there any possibility to upgrade to one of the developer previews?
When I download Windows Insider, I select fast ring: no updates are found (my account is enabled for developer previews).
Is this normal behaviour? I also tried to edit the registry to get Windows 10 redstone: unable to update: Update is downloading but when I try to install: unable to open update it says.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Pieter

Hey out there !
Upgrading to W10M works actually !!
Yesterday i upgraded my 925 from 8.1 Denim to W10M 10.0.14393.89
In Short:
All you need is the same 8.1 Firmware (.ffu)-File as is installed on your Phone.
Grab your FW on lumiafirmware Site
You need WP Internals 1.2 to unlock Bootloader and enable the Root access.
-YOU DIDN´T need Root-Tool and vcreg and all the other Stuff, ONLY WP Internals !!
Reboot Phone
After that, you must Boot your Phone via WP Internals into the Storage Mode
On PC open regedit and point to your Phone, called MainOS
In Regedit, you load the Registry of your Phone and do some Hacks and write the registry back to Phone
Reboot your Phone, go to MS Store and download Windows Insider App, start it and register for the Insider programm.
All done, you can use the fast ring, Slow ring and Preview .
If you wish, i can do a complete tutorial here !

With the phone turned off, press and hold "volume up" + "power". Keep pressing them until you see a lighting with a gear. From there, flash using "Windows Phone Image Designer".
Hi there,
I was having battery issues with my W10M install on my Lumia 920 so I decided to reflash it using the Windows Device Recovery Tool. Stupid thing installed WP8 and now I can't seem to get W10M back through insider previews.
Is it still possible to get W10M on my device? I am willing to do anything.
I am a bit of a noob, so a step-by-step guide would be appreciated
Device info:
App-version- 1.4.0.1
OS-version- 8.10.12393.890
Branch- WPMAIN
OEM - NOKIA
Model - RM-821_eu_netherlands_315

Why you can't get insider updates ? First check for updates and make sure you are on the latest OS version then sign in to insider app and upgrade . If you weren't able let me know. I will share a ROM I built for 920 .

I'm not sure why I can't get Insider updates, I can select the fast/slow/preview rings in the Windows Insider app, it reboots but then it doesn't show any system update.
Steps I've taken:
Use Windows Device Recovery Tool to flash WP8 to device
Initiate device with most checkboxes turned off, except auto-update OS.
See 31 apps that have to be updated, including Extras&Info. Ignore all of them.
Update the OS to the latest version, 8.10.14234.375
Install Windows Insider app
Enable Fast ring -> Reboot -> Check and see no updates.
I have never flashed a custom ROM on the device, so I am unsure what tools I should use for that, what files I need, etc.
If it makes a difference:
Manufacturer name: RM-821_eu_netherlands_315
Mobile Operator: 000-NL
Configuration ID: 474389
Build Creation Date: 9-2-2015 (I guess day-month-year)

You need WPInternals to flash a custom ROM.
Hm, maybe your date time settings is not ok isn't it ?
I had the same problem like you after upgrade to latest wp8.1 I did a hard reset and install insider again it solve my problem .
But OK I will upload my custom ROM to make it easier to you to upgrade.
if Lumia 1320, 1020, 820 and other x20 devices witch has unlocked bootloaders want to see such custom roms on their devices please let me know in PMs. They must have a Unlocked boot loader and the latest build of Windows 10 on their phone. (latest 10586, also Redstone builds are welcome too)
It seems they removed support for S4 devices. I also flashed my old Lumia 928 to WP 8.1 and it can't find updates from Windows Insider.
you need to opt in into the release-preview-ring! fast- and slowring dont support older devices (since 6 months...). to get redstone instead of th2 you need to spoof your device id

I know. It doesn't seem to be working on Realese Preview either.
ms activated a release-preview-ring for redstone a few days ago. i hope they havent shutdown the old releasepreviewring now...
but with a 920 it wouldnt be a problem either, get wpinternals and unlock the device with the engineering bootloader. boot it into mass storage mode, change device id and use the upgrade advisor to get th2 or the insider app to get redstone
might work as well if device is registred as wp 8.1 dev device and sideload vcreg to change device id at the device directly (dunno if that works that way on 8.1, havent used that for ages)

I'm from Iran and here internet connections are really slow and metered so it take a bit long to upload but I hope to make it ready up to tomorrow .
I include L950XL ringtones and also I pre-installed apps. you surely know if you upgrade with insider preview you have to update most of your apps to get them working, but this ROM doesn't need anything .

I think what tofuschnitte suggest ist to install 8.1 through WDRT, use wpinternals to unlock the bootloader, enable mass storage mode, use wpinternals to boot the phone in mass storage mode and use regedit on your computer to edit the registry.
You can open regedit, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and use [File]->[Load Hive...] to load [Phone]:\windows\system32\config\system. Next you'll be asked for a name for the Hive. Name it something obvious like "PHONE_SYSTEM". Next Navigate to HKLM\PHONE_SYSTEM\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo and change
// edit: Use values at your own discretion. The values suggested here will give you a phablet interface.
PhoneManufacturer to "Microsoft MDG"
PhoneModelName to "Lumia 1520"
PhoneManufacturerModelName to "RM-938_1000"
Unload the Hive by selecting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\PHONE_SYSTEM in the tree view and use [File]->[Unload Hive...]. Press and hold [Powerbutton] and [Volume down] to reboot your phone to normal mode.
Join the Fast Ring using Windows Insider tool and check for updates.

I didn't know I could do this! If I knew I'd have done this before I tried to flash a random Lumia950XL ROM. It gave a blue sad face ^^
its windows after all
i think it should be possible on 8.1 without sd too (as i said: if the device is regged as developer device <--- but have in mind: if its registred as dev device with the 8.1 sdk it will crash on 10 if you enable dev mode. took me ages to figure that out months ago). but the massstorage way is the easiest in your case

It did indeed work, though the setup isn't ideal yet. Currently having some remarkable screen size features I'm pretty sure it's rendering at a higher internal resolution and downscaling, so that would in theory mean slower performance and/or more battery use. I will wait on ngame's ROM :good:
its cause you used the 1520 settings, just changes the scaling -> settings - system - start -> there you can set the scaling with a slider. or just simply change the device id back, or (thats what i highly recommend) -> do a hardreset to have a clean os (should revert the device id changes too, but to be safe do it manually before doing the reset).
but have in mind: if you want to download keyboardfiles/speech detection stuff for cortana -> opt in into the insider programm again. for that task its enough, when you want to receive further updates you have to spoof the device id again (its enough to change it, search for updates, let it prepare and change it back)

Yeah I know about the slider. I kind of like small elements on my screen though, feels roomier. I don't care about Cortana, it's not supported in The Netherlands and it slows down the phone considerably.
I did notice there's an issue with my microphone when calling, the ancient Lumia920 issue...
Still going to flash @ngame's ROM

Thank you very much for your effort!
If I find more issues with my current install (it updated a new Insider Build yesterday, then I factory reset it), I will flash this ROM and try it out! :good:
I hope many other Lumia 920 owners will find this useful too!
It will be good to have a ROM that I can just flash when I need it, instead of recovering with WDRT again

yes WDRT is a real non-useful app (I don't know the opposite of useful )
it's only good for x50 owners who don't like to have insider builds

No worries.. I used the following
PhoneManufacturerModelName = RM-1089_1087
Phone Operator Name = 000-DE
Phone Model Name = Lumia 735
I found this model to be closest to 1320 in terms of internal hardware specs and the build is far more stable.
Thanks

Hi, can you please write how did you get WP 10 from 8.1? I have L 1320 and I have tried everything, but nothing is working. I have stucked with CustnomWPSystem, because no MixRadio app after hard reset of flash 8.1 ROM, replaceing Extras + info app with vcREG or customPDF was unsuccessful, replaceing Preview for Developers app was successful, but replaced apps doesnt work....
Can you please write down how you did it?

I update often with insider windows to build (not Redstone) and then I unlock.
I then apply these settings to get the Redstone build.
You can try this >>http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...-interop-unlock-root-wp8-8-1-windows-t3450239
Or to manually unlock creating your own rom >>http://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-phone-8/development/windows-phone-internals-unlock-t3257483
Sorry I have no time to upload my custom rom
Sorry my bad english.

I did the following:
1. Restored to 8.1 with WDRT (Windows Device Recovery Tool)
2. Disable automatic app updates from Store (to prevent extras+info from updating)
3. Unlocked bootloader using WPInternals
4. Unlocked phone using Developer Phone Registration
5. Deployed custom pfd xap
6. copied mixradio vcgreg bootstrap to sd card root folder (mixradio is available if you recover using WDRT), or else you can stick to extras+info bootstrap
7. Executed CustomPFD to deploy vcreg via the mixradio bootstrap
8. Once vcreg was installed, go to settings do Interop Unlock
9. Change the registry settings to have the phone as Lumia 735 (check my post above)
10. Install Windows Upgrade Advisor and execute it
11. It will detect the phone as 735 and schedule updates
12. Go to updates and install update (The first update will take you to windows 10 build 10586 (TH1).
13. Check for updates again (you will get an update for the Anniversary Update)
Recommended to install the Anniversary Update. It has been by far the most stable version for 1320 (for me atleast).
Let me know if you have any other issues.
Thank you very much, but I have not been succesful.
llucas_br: I tried it many times but it does not work for me. I am stuck at 9) because i am unable to replace the app. It seems to be installed not on SD card. I tried Insider preview instead and no luck.
shahidkazi: Well, I stucked on 5). Do you really mean custom pfd or it shoudl be customWP? If custopWP I have the same problem as mentioned...
And after WDRT I do not have Mixradio app :/ (iam using this firmware: RM994_3058.50000.1424.0003_RETAIL_eu_hungary_1156_03_445314_prd_signed.ffu)
I am guessing the file image for the model from hungary does not have mixradio. You may want to look for the extras + info bootstrap. maybe @emanuelMode can post the xap here for you to try bootstrapping with it instead
Adn yes you were right, i meant custom wp system (which is used to apply the bootstrap)
custom pfd is a registry editor which i generally use to edit registry after doing the interop unlock via vcreg. It makes it easier to edit the registry values.
Were you able to unlock boot loader using WP internals?
Try deploy this xap

Great. Enjoy
Additional Tip:
After upgrading to Windows 10, the phone will still remain as Lumia 735 or any other model that you spoof it to with the registry hack. Keep it the same to get future updates.
In case you have to reset your phone for some reason, it will go back to being Lumia 1320, in that case, simple deploy VCReg 1.5 for Windows 10 using app deploy, interop unlock and change it back to Lumia 735.
I may be wrong or just superstitious but keeping it as Lumia 735 and not 1320, the freezing issue is less frequent.

It could be some registry setting wrong or you may have Extras + Info installed.

If I get W10 TH2 on my Lumia 1320, and reset the phone, did it automatically changes the register to show it is a 1320 again? And only receive the last TH2 to the Lumia 1320? Sorry 4 my english Thank you
While the Nokia Lumia 530 isn’t officially supported, it’s still possible to get Windows 10 mobile running on it. At the time of writing, it has become a bit tricky to get it to work, since most official Microsoft tools are discontinued and will therefore not work. I will be linking the files which I’ve used. The credits to the people who made or shared the tools and guides I used will be at the bottom of this guide.
Note that I am not responsible for any damage made. Proceed at your own risk!
Prerequisites:
- A Nokia Lumia 530 running the Windows 8.1 Denim Update (will be referred to as "device")
- A stable Windows 7 system or VM, with .NET Framework 4.5.x or 4.6.x (on Windows 10, the IUTool will fail to synchronize, hence this requirement)
- An internet connection that can handle a download of approximately 2GB data on the computer and about the same on the phone
- A good USB cable (a flimsy one with a loose fit could brick the device while it’s updating)
- The programs linked below
First part of the installation:
1. Make sure the device is fully charged. If it’s not fully charged the device could get (soft-)bricked.
2. Factory reset the device, so you have as much storage as possible available on the device. After the reset is done, leave it at the language selection screen, because it doesn’t do anything there.
3. Extract HCTSW_WXMSOUP_V5.3beta6.update.lzma2.7z with 7zip or whatever you prefer.
4. Download the Visual C++ libraries from here: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/ and run the install script.
5. The next thing you are going to do is download the updates, push them to the device and install them. This will take some time, but it depends on your internet connection for the most part. The files will be downloaded from the official Microsoft servers. Now here’s what to do: open run_en.cmd and follow the steps. These are pretty clear, so I don’t think I need to point all of them out here. It will open a webpage where you can download WDRT, you will need to install that for the tool to work.
6. Now you can move on to the second part.
Second part of the installation:
In this part of the installation, you will be updating the device from version 1511 to the latest available build, which should have a working Microsoft store.
1. The setup of the device. The version that just got installed doesn’t have a lot of options yet, including language packs. If you have a device that’s not English United States, the keyboard will bug out on setup, because it’s trying to access a language pack that doesn’t exist. Therefore, the first step, setting the language should be English (United States), so the OS itself won’t bug out. Once you’ve set the language (it will prompt to reboot, do that), you can go through the rest of the setup. Don’t log it into your Wi-Fi, don’t log it into your Microsoft account and don’t turn on automatic app updates. It’ll say it needs to set up apps, that takes some time but eventually you’ll get to the home screen. Now is when you need a few tools, which brings us to step 2.
Now is a good moment for me to point out that, if you have a non-English-US device, the keyboard for another language is still "installed". It can be removed by holding it in settings -> time and language -> keyboard and choosing “Delete”.
2. Installing Interop Tools. In order to get updates, you’ll need to modify your device a bit. This won’t be very hard, but it involves some registry modifications so you’ll have to pay close attention.
Go to settings -> update and security -> for developers and enable developer mode, so you can sideload the Interop Tools (Linked below). Copy the contents of the Interop Tools zip to the device first. Then, go to the file manager on the phone and go to the directory where you put the files. INSTALL THE DEPENDENCIES IN THE \ARM FOLDER FIRST, THEN THE INTEROP TOOLS FILE ITSELF! Check if the Interop Tools installed on the “all apps screen” and get ready to open it.
3. Modifying the registry. Open Interop Tools and tap the “This Device” button. This will bring up a menu.
3.1. Tap the menu button on the top left corner, then select “Modify Registry”. In the “Registry Key Path”, put SYSTEM\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo. Then, put PhoneManufacturerModelName in the “Registry Value Name” box and tap the “Read” button at the bottom. You’ll see some text appear in a box. This will need to be edited to the following value: RM-1089_1048. After you did that, tap the “Write” button.
3.2. Now put PhoneModelName in the the “Registry Value Name” box and tap “Read” again. Now change the value to Lumia 535 and tap “Write”.
3.3. Exit out of Interop Tools and go to the next step.
4. Logging in to the Wi-Fi and checking for updates.
4.1. Logging it in to the Wi-Fi. Go to settings -> network & wireless -> Wi-Fi and choose your network. Easy peasy probably.
4.2. Checking for updates. This is the part that always went wrong with me, because of storage limits (gotta love that 4GB eMMC). But if I’ve explained this well enough, you might not have to do a lot of weird stuff. Oh well, to the instruction we go. Go to settings -> update and security -> windows update and check for updates. This will take a while! Keep it on wall power because updating can only be done at 40% or more at this point. I got two updates: from 1511 to early 1607 and from that to late 1607. Maybe you can get a newer version with WDRT or OTC but I doubt that to be honest.
Hooray! Now you should have a fully functional Nokia Lumia 530 with Windows 10 mobile!

PS: If you brick the device, the WDRT can restore it. If it just puts it in flashing mode, you can use Windows Phone Internals to download and flash a ROM. That tool can be found here: https://www.wpinternals.net/index.php/downloads/doc_download/46-wpinternals-2-8-zip
[ADDITION] Updating from build 1607 to 1709.
I said it wouldn’t be possible and it would break stuff, but I tried it and it doesn’t break anything some people say it might break. Yeah, it might impact on battery life a bit, but nothing has broken for me (yet), it has only improved.
I’ve learned that the update from 1607 to 1703 is the hardest one yet, but you should be able to get it going. This is because the preinstalled Store in 1607 can connect to the app update servers, but it can’t view the app. This is a difficult situation because many apps will become very large when they get updated. You need to figure out for yourself what gets you the space you need, but I found that uninstalling all the apps that can be uninstalled and deleting system apps through MTP (which can be done by bootloader unlocking, rooting and booting into mass storage mode with Windows Phone Internals (I recommend that you only delete OneNote, SkyDrive (as it’s being referred to in /data/program files/windowsapps) and the Xbox app).
Step 0: you might want to factory reset first
Let’s get to the updating though…
1. Modifying the registry. Open Interop Tools and tap the “This Device” button. This will bring up a menu.
1.1. Tap the menu button on the top left corner, then select “Modify Registry”. In the “Registry Key Path”, put SYSTEM\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo. Now do the exact same as you did before, except use these “registry value names” and put the corresponding information into the box below that. Don’t forget to tap write!
Values you should use:
PhoneHardwareVariantRM-1104PhoneManufacturerMicrosoftMDGPhoneManufacturerModelNameRM-1104_11210PhoneModelNameLumia 950
1.2. Exit out of Interop Tools and go to the next step.
2. Logging in to the Wi-Fi and checking for updates.
2.1. Logging it in to the Wi-Fi. Go to settings -> network & wireless -> Wi-Fi and choose your network. Easy peasy probably.
2.2. Checking for updates. Go to settings -> update and security -> Windows Update and check for updates. This will take a while! Keep it on wall power because updating can only be done at 40% or more at this point. I got 3 updates, one from 1607 to 1703, one from 1703 to 1709 and another one from old 1709 to last 1709.

Yeah that doesn't work. Rename the .bin to .zip, extract, mount the phone in mass storage mode and copy the files to the EFIESP folder/symlink. If you can't do that, WDRT can probably unbreak it
Please anounce me when you can upload the dumped partition.
Is resulting that efiesp.bin , data.bin and mainos.bin are related, so i cant upgrade my phone to windows 10 mobile without them.

Mount as mass storage, diskpart clean the thing, hold power button for ~10 seconds, flash a bootloader with WDRT (may fail 2-3 times), flash FFU

You can download and flash it in WPInternals (will delete all data so back that up first) or WDRT (not sure if that erases userdata)
