Hi,
I encountered the serious buffering on original hulu app on my fire tv. (It's not bandwidth's fault. my bandwidth is about 50M. meanwhile my netflix works as well. and the hulu on my Samsung smart Tv works as well. because there is a quality option to adjust the video. when I encounter the buffering, I just lower the quality , then It's ok). however there is not a quality option for original hulu app on fire tv.
So last night I uninstalled the original hulu, then sideloaded the hulu.apk. It's much better, I got the quality option and I can adjust the quality of video with mouse. Sometimes I still get the buffering.
1. Does anyone who play hulu on fire tv encounter the same trouble on amazon fire tv? How do you cope with the trouble?
2. I got dozes hulu app from xda, which version is suitable for fire tv? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1822341)
3. if I setup the XBMC, Can I decrease the buffering of hulu?
4. if I buy a Andodid box, and setup hulu.apk, Can I solve this touble? I can't bare the hulu buffering on my fire tv
thanks
Picked up a new 4K monitor a couple weeks ago and today when I got the 4K Fire TV, I found out this monitor (along with most current 4k PC monitors) doesn't support HDCP 2.2. This means the FireTV will not output in 4K, which is the main purpose I chose this streaming box.
Is there a way I can bypass that HDCP requirement? I figured this might be doable via a hack or CFW, so I thought I'd ask here.
Thanks in advance!
Has anybody encountered issues streaming Netflix in 4k in their Fire Tv box 2? I can get Amazon series / shoes. And youtube to stream in 4k. As well as streaming netflix in 4k to my tv from my Xbox and the smart app on the tv. For some reason though it won't stream in 4k fro, the Fire tv box 2. I am running the latest rooted firmware and have ran the last 2 or 3 rooted roms in order of release as well. It appears very close to 4k when streaming but there are noticeable tracers and issues with fast movement that don't occur on the Netflix app in 4k via the other devices. With all said above, that rules out the tv, hdmi cable, port on the tv and even the Netflix app because I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Just curious as to what I'm missing.
Not a lot of us using 4k yet. I keep putting off buying one because I have more then enough Tv's at the moment. And can't justify the expense to myself yet...But as soon as the 70inch craps out I'm all over it
I have recently purchased second gen Fire TV stick. I have a Prime Video subscription in Croatia and all my devices (iphone, nvidia shield) have no problem streaming Prime video except Fire stick. Fire stick has no issues streaming from Netflix but whenever I try to stream Prime video content I get error code: network error.
Any ideas?
Same problem with my Fire Stick 2. Netflix, Zattoo work but no Amazon videos. Network_Error
Been struggling with this problem for ages... I live in Italy and have a regular Prime video account.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hi, I´m purchasing a Fire Tv Stick 2 soon and I´d like to know if it suits my needs.
I plan to use apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Plex and Kodi. I know performance can be disappointing given the hardware but Chromecast got me used to stream my contents from the phone so I wouldn´t suffer AFTV´s interface lag. How does it behave in that regard?
Does Kodi support auto refresh rate? (If I recall correctly from a quick search on google, it worked fine before Fire OS 6)
Thanks
I have been using my firestick gen 2. Unrooted, stock launcher, for about 2 days. I have Kodi, popcorn time, etc. I haven't turned my satellite on since. I haven't noticed lag, but if you plan on streaming it's like Chromecast without casting.

The fire stick doesn't support auto refresh rate switching, so no luck there. Plex works very good, as long as you play only Full HD videos, of course 4k is not supported (Plex automatically transcodes all your streams so you won't have any issue with heavy h265 compression). Of course for the same reason Netflix and Prime Video will work, just remember to always use a wall plug and not the USB port of your TV to power the stick. Kodi is a question marks it's on what you have in your library, of course very high-compressed h265 videos won't play, but for me is has been more than fine so far

Well, my experience says otherwise, after a week of tinkering. It exceeded my expectations (I expected a laggy interface but it´s smooth most of the time)
Tried with Kodi and SPMC and auto refresh rate works fine and, as far as I know, the cpu should be capable of h265 hardware decoding (basic compression, I guess). Perfect for the streaming friendly content in some Kodi addons.
Pleasantly surprised with this apparently limited hardware, no need for a Nvidia Shield (overkill for my needs)
