[Q] Recovery not booting, Vodafone DE branded m9

Greetings,
I just got a new Vodafone HTC One m9 today and directly started with unlocking and rooting.
It was shipped the 24th April, if this should help.
The problem is: I unlocked with htcdev.com, flashed TWRP 2.8.6.4 latest beta and rebooted into recovery. The HTC logo is showing up with the red text, after 10 seconds the screen goes dark, it vibrates and is starting up normaly to android.
I flashed the recovery multiple, even the original recovery i got with searching for the version-main.

Anyone got a idea what could be the problem? I wasted 2 hours searching a solution on all forums, tried multiple TWRP versions, there is no way to get to the recovery menu.
Ah and yes, i did erase cache before flashing

fastboot reboot recovery, maybe. or adb reboot download, then select recovery

Tried both, got no success..
TWRP says on some devices the recovery menu gets replaced when you are not hitting the right key combo, but why am i the only one having problems and every guide with high ratings just says:
1. unlock with htcdev
2. flash recovery
3. install root.zip
4. 1337
?

so, its solved.
It seems, like there is problems with fastload and Windows 8.1 64 bit.
Using my old laptop with 32bit Windows 7 everything worked just as it should.
If there is anyone having such problems try another host for pushing files..

Is it possible to go back to stock without S-Off?

I unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP and then installed a rooted version of stock OS. Can I go back to completely stock without S-Off, or is it absolutely required that I pay the $25 to go back to stock?

Wish I had a solution for you, but I don't see one. Looks like we're stuck with either an S-On or a $25 charge

I've tried to look for an answer as well. The latest RUU from my carrier is only 1.32, and in the event that I need to service my phone, I'm not sure if stock system + TWRP is good enough for 'stock'.
My phone scared me today because random white, vertical lines appeared on the screen, but they didn't show up when I rebooted into the power + vol. down menu. They slowly disappeared, but it was definitely worrying. I'm afraid the display will go bad soon.

This is the best option I've found so far. Going to give it a try tomorrow, unless anyone has suggestions.

Unfortunately I'm not having a lot of luck. Using the files on that site, and also tried the "1.32.531.33 SystemDump" from XDA, but in both cases as soon as it starts up it says "EasyShare stopped responding" and "System UI stopped responding" before even doing the setup wizard. Tried wiping the cache, and redownloading the files but still the same errors every time. Not sure what I'm missing...

Okay, I finally got it back to stock using these instructions and the "fastboot/sd card" RUU zips from here. Everything appears to be working, and back at stock without needing S-OFF!

All that you needed was an unlocked bootloader to load a Stock RUU.

The thread is very old, but I can help you.
First we need to know more about your device, so boot in download mode and do "fastboot getvar all" then post the result here(remove imei,sn)
For this you need adb and fastboot, if you don't have I recommend you Minimal ADB & Fastboot, and make sure you have htc drivers installed.

Rename it to 0PJAIMG.zip and put in root of your fat32 formatted sdcard, then boot in download and follow instructions.

You can't just flash nougat if you're s-on, you need to flash a ruu that match to your current firmware version, then you can update via ota to the latest nougat.

hi, sorry, I'm in a similar situation too. I'm s-on and I would like to return completely stock. Can I do it simply by flashing the ruu of my firmware? If I post the data of my phone can you kindly help me find the ruu? Thanks

No roms will boot or function properly

I got my Sprint 10 like two weeks ago roughly and used Sunshine to get S-off and installed the latest TWRP. I have tried CM, Leedroid, ICE, Viper, and Bad Boyz and the only one that would ever even start up properly was Bad Boyz and it didn't have a functioning home button which is a complete deal breaker so...yeah. All other roms, for the most part will just not boot. White screen with HTC on it for an hour+ and nothing happens. ICE would boot, and start the activation wizard but the instant the PRL updates and I hit OK the phone reboots and goes through activation again but just stays on that screen and refuses to activate even though I can see I have an LTE data signal.
I tried completely starting over four times, three times by flashing the earliest RUU version and going through all OTA updates then doing it all over again minus the Sunshine s-off because I've been s-off the entire time. One time by just flashing a later RUU to skip the OTAs. Nothing works. I don't get it. I'm CLEARLY doing something very wrong and it's incredibly frustrating. I've tried formatting, not wiping, data and of course nothing. I said I'd give up but I reeeaallly would like to use ICE or Leedroid.

You are most likely on Marshmallow firmware and on an outdated TWRP (maybe).
Update your firmware to Nougat, then flash the romm.
The firmware/rom missmatch causes the broken fingerprint too.
HFA and setting PRL works on our rom.

While originally that didn't make sense to me, I did it anyway. At least I thought I did. Does accepting all OTA updates include firmware? Because I did do that, and actually now Bad Boyz won't even boot so I'm stuck with stock nougat
Edit: TWRP is the latest 3.1.01 or whatever the number is, I forget exactly but I checked and even redownloaded it from their site.

it is not a confirmed issue, but I saw more than a handful not being able to flash anything on the latest, downgrading fixed it for them.

Restoring HTC 10 back to stock- Australia, Telstra- telst001

Hi, im having an issue restoring my htc 10 back to stock. The CID is telst001. Its currently set to s-on, *unlocked.
I managed to find a stock image at https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/australia-htc-10-australian-t3393941, I downloaded and installed 1.95.841.3, along with the stock recovery.
It manages to boot and everything ok, but its running android 6. And when i try and software update I get an error- "there was un unexpected error and the file system may be corrupted"
Im not entirely sure what to do next, I have tried googling and people suggest to flash the firmware, but im unable to find the firmware to match my CID.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm guessing you didn't bother checking the "firmware" thread...? (as it's there)

Although being S-on and assuming you at least had Nougat running previously, you won't simply be able to downgrade the firmware, without additional effort.
Best bet is finding the most recent RUU available for your device or at least a backup matching your current firmware version.

Post your getvar all output deleting your imei and serial number from it.

That's it yes. It's unfortunate you can't take the OTA. There is a RUU but it's for a older version. Without being S OFF there's not much I can help you with. Try posting in the AUS thread.

Troubles with going back to stock with S-OFF and unlocked Bootloader?

What happened?
I tried to flash twrp recovery and supersu, which actually broke my phones ability to recognize the Sim card (IMEI not showing up).
Well i tried to flash several roms (downgrade, upgrade and even the same version-main), yet i always encountered the FAIL12 ZIP error..
My phone is currently factory reset, twrp installed and well im unable to flash anything with it right now.
Does someone have some solutions? I tried the 3.35 ruu from the FAQ thread, tried some 2.x.x ruus, 4.28 ruus and latest one i got was this: 0PJAIMG_HIMA_UHL_N70_SENSE80_MR_TMO_DE_4.18.111.2_R_Radio_01.01_U114401011_117.00.61117G_2_F_release_498250_signed_2_4.zip
EDIT: I did change the CID TO 102 (standard german) from TMOBO 101

As you've changed the cid you can only flash a firmware compatible with the new cid, the same version as what you already have. So the firmware you are trying to flash is the right version, wrong cid/sku. Currently your on tmobile fw with a cid that doesn't belong.
When you bugger a phone by flashing it unknowing what you are doing the best option is to flash to stock and start again.
When you have the firmware you need just copy it to the external sd card and rename it to 0PJAIMG.ZIP (0=zero, not o!), boot into download mode and you should have "press vol up to flash" in yellow at the bottom of the screen. Press vol up...
