Is the Z5 Premium DUAL Quick Charge compatible ? - Xperia Z5 Premium Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello !
I have a Z5 Premium DUAL sim (E6833), and i was wandering if it is Quick Charge compatible !
I once had a Z3+ DUAL and it was NOT Quick Charge compatible although the single sim version was, i heared that it was a software limitation from SONY, god knows why ...
So is it the same thing with the Z5 Premium DUAL ? Is it Quick Charge compatible or not ... ?

Hello
Yes it is compatible with qualcomm 2.0 quick charge standard

yap

I just started using my Z5P again. What's the quick charge time from 0-100%? Don't think mine is quick charging since it's over two hours to fully charge

Not sure if the following statement is due to me over-charging or perhaps the charger/cable but I bought Aukey Turbo Charger (PA-U28) couple of months back and after about a month of using it on my Z5 Premium, the battery bloated so far out that the back cover peeled off the phone. I went on eBay to purchase another battery and replaced it not long after that.

use the stock one. I was using a cable i bought online and it took over 7 hours... lol stick with HTC!
You're better off using the stock charger. I tried mine with an extra BB charger and it took 4 hours to charge full while the stock charger needed 1.5 hrs.

It won't make any difference; the phone charges at ≈800 mA.
So even if we use a 2A charger the phone wont take more than 800mA ?
Exactly. I think it's overheating protection.

HTC Rapid Charger 2.0 TC-P1000 Review

Hi all. I finally got hold of a AC Quick Charge 2.0 USB charger for my phone after browsing the depths of the internet. I have the Incipio rapid charger for my car which works great (have never had my battery down low enough though to really notice the speedy charging) but haven't been able to find a quick charger with an EU plug until now.
From what I have seen, this charger is not really available worldwide yet, only selected places in Europe (and the US) so I was quite pleased to have found it on a Polish website HERE. I was a little sceptical ordering from there without knowing anything about the website, or reliable but they took mastercard payment so I was covered. It took 5 days to arrive with delivery by GLS. It all cost about 250DKK (25 EURO?) with delivery.
Here are a few photos anyway:
Side by side with an old HTC TC E250 (Rapid charger on the right)
I've been trying to run down my Z3c battery with some heavy browsing, downloading, video play and music but it just isn't discharging very quickly, the battery is too good! (Serious first world problem  )
Edit: Put the phone on charge after getting to 3% and after 15 mins, phone only charged upto 20%. Not exactly mind blowing :/
Then after another 10 mins, was upto 8%. So after 25 mins, it was only upto 28%. 25% charge in 25 mins is standard and way far off the claimed 0 to 60% in 30 mins bull.
It states on the HTC website that Accelerated charging performance applies to the HTC One (M8), HTC One remix, HTC One (E8), and the HTC Desire Eye. But I just assumed that it would be universal with other devices. I doubt very much that they would make it so that it would only be compatible with HTC devices.
The only thing I can think of is that there may be something wrong with my device. But have seen other complaints that the quick charging isn't working as it should on other threads.
This is all severely disappointing.

Man, this is frustrating. I was hoping to get one too, but it seems that there are no seeable advantages compared to standart chargers yet. Maybe it's something that Sony should tweak first, before this thing'll work. Even though as far as I know this rapid charger should be pretty much compatible with all latest Qualcomm SoC's...
From reading on the official Sony forums is that only the Japanese variants of the Z3 are quick charge 2.0 enabled. So maybe this applies to ours also.
If the flagship Z3 in Europe doesn't have it enabled, then why would the compact?.. All very odd considering its all the same chip set.
I think we have to wait for more advanced kernels that will offer fast charging. Charging time on Z3C is really horrible, it takes about 2 hours to get 100%.
I'm coming to Z3 Compact from Xperia P which had Sony's EP850 quick charger. I only tried it once because I was in a hurry and it did charge faster than with the one provided with Z3c. Of course, you also have to use the cable provided with EP850.
Since then I didn't use XP's charger so right now I can't say how much faster it is or if it was just a placebo.

2,6Ah battery and 1.5A charger equals 1.73 hours or 1h 44min of charge time. Assuming you go from 0% battery, that is (which you shouldn't, by the way).
Hi guys, i ordered htc tc p1000 but i've receiver htc tc p900 quick charging 2.0, 7,5W and not claimed 15W.
But on the same package of the charger i can find written htc tc p1000 5V 1.67A. But that wasn't 15W?

I digged about it chipset and it is indeed impressing(ain't it).
It feature one of the FIRST 64 bit cpu(seems to be upcoming future).
I went to official Qualcomm site and it says it features QuickCharge tech, now I wonder which we will be getting??
QuickCharge 1.0 or 2.0 .As I think it is launched in competition with the One+ one (some may disagree but I think so).
So maybe it will support 2.0,then we are getting more lucky.
one more thing regarding hardware,I should not worry about the OTG support right. It should be supported.
As for the software part,as we all know CM is the ruler in customs android,if we got Cm then we will be getting a line of custom roms a later on
One thing that can be and is speculated is build quality,we will see when it is in our hands, they should make a good device as it is a first device under a new Brand.
So guys leave your previous comments on its QuickCharge feature. What you think we will be getting??

Hey guys we have quick charge 2.0 In our Yu Yureka Phone ok .But We need 3amp charger like Motorola’s Turbo Charger and HTC Rapid Charger
Quick Charge 2.0 is built in to all of Qualcomm’s latest SoCs, meaning that most of us should be able to benefit from faster recharge speeds. However, can you expect such impressive sounding battery charge times in all situations

The battery may explode, get heated, reduced life. The battery in yureka is somewhat cheap one. I think something has to be done from software side also, like unlocking the QC.

max i have is 1.5A charger for sony z ultra, and yes it increases the speed, rest i dont know mate
my charging time is greatly reduced (about 1.30 hr)
I have used some custom kernel and adjusted the charging current level to 1.5 Amp
So quick charge 1.0 is happening
My phone is getting charged 30% in 30minutes and
70% in 60 minutes.
Note: I am using my old lumia charger 5v 1.3 Amps.

Quick Charging?

I got an M9 today, and im trying to see if my Adaptive Fast Charging cable from my S6 would work on my M9. On my s6 it tells me if fast charging is enabled, meanwhile this M9 says nothing. Is there anyway to know if it is actually fast charging without actually watching the charge and see if its "fast"?
I have the HTC quick charger and there are no messages or indicators that fast charging is in effect. Also, the Samsung quick charger did not appear to work on my M9.
Thanks man, so im kinda guessing I just have to watch real world usage and see... What a bummer
I tried using my Nexus 6 quick charger but I don't think it really charges quickly
That's disappointing that other quick chargers don't work on the M9. You would have thought that if the charger is Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 certified then it should work, right?
Some do. The Motorola quick charger that came with the Nexus 6 works fine with my M9.

that's the problem their not all "Qualcomm Certified" some chargers sold as quick chargers are the old Qualcomm Quick Charge 1.0 and only supply 1.5a at 5v and not the true 18W - 2.0a at 5v
Even the HTC rapid charge 2.0 is only listed as Output 5V at up to 12Watts/1.5A
The list of Quick Charge 2.0 devices is not that large
Quick Charge 2.0 Compatible models:
Samsung Galaxy Note 4/Edge,
Google Nexus 6,
Sony Xperia Z4, Z4 Tablet, Z3, Z3 Compact, Z3 Tablet Compact, Z2 Tablet,
Motorola Droid Turbo, Moto X 2014,
HTC One M9, HTC One (M8), One Remix (Verizon Mini 2), Desire EYE,

but it would be no big surprise to me if samsung didn't put something in their charger to disable the quick charge function on non samsung phones
Im using the stock HTC charger and its telling me 9 hours until fully charged, lmfao.. wtf
Just acquired a note 4 adaptive fast charger, i'll give it a test vs the htc charger with minimal apps installed, the original S5 charger with a normal cable charges the M9 very quickly, this isn't a fast charger afaik, but it does the job a lot quicker than the original M9 one does.
Will see how it goes.
Just charged from 50 to 100 in 70 mins.
2 hours 20 minutes or there about.
That is not fast charging, at least not QC2.0 speeds. You're describing something probably charging 1100-1500
QC2.0 can charge from flat to fat in about an hour and ten minutes. +1800 - +2400 - think this is the one I'm using right now: http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Cert...9167&sr=8-1&keywords=quick+charge+2.0+charger $15, it charges in average about +2000mA.
That said, it would probably charge faster if the screen stayed off. Seems to drop down to +700mA when the screen kicks on, which it does at every notification.

It's not too bad is it? I thought my phone charged pretty quick using that
I have an older HTC charger at work that charges fairly slow. It appears to be around +700-800mA. The charger that came with the phone is much quicker. I assume it must be around +1200mA based on charge time. If I'm near a dead battery, I can get it back up to 100% in around 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

With standard charger I found that by not touching it charges quicker, once you start using it takes time. Same with in car it annoymed the most with how long it took.

UCH12 fast charger Not charging fast at all

Hii
So, I just got my new charger
The UCH12 wich should charge the phone faster
My model is the G3221 and the charging time
is the exact same as with the stock charger
I googled and not just this model.. There are almost
all models having trouble with fast charging
Read somewhere that this option only is for
Taiwanese phone models
Anyone got that problem too or got it solved??

I am using an English model of the G3221 and I can confirm that my UCH-12 charger is fast charging, I believe it shaves off just over an hour of charging.
Stock charger UCH-20 takes upto 3 hours from 0-100 whereas the quick charger UCH-12 takes just under 2 I believe...
I'm afraid I can't give you any advice or help, but quick charging on my device definitely works that's for sure...
