You need your firmware and your carrier to support it. Unlocked model of HTC 10 supports VoLTE. If your carrier does then you are good to go.

I already know unlocked htc 10 support after nougat. But I searched , To use VoLTE in korea I need some code(or type) in firmware.
My carrier (Sk telecom) doesn't support international VoLTE code(type). They use their code not international code.(I don't know exactly).
International VoLTE include all VoLTE types? If yes, then I can use VoLTE.!

If your carrier doesn't support VoLTE, then you won't be able to get it. I'm on Telus in Canada with a US Unlocked device. US Unlocked supports VoLTE, but my carrier only supports it for the newer iPhone models. So I don't get it and you won't either, unless I/you change carriers or our carriers decide to support it. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
EDIT: I misread your post. And don't understand it to tell the truth. VoLTE should either be supported or not. If they don't use International/WWE code (?) then try US Unlocked firmware instead.

As someone who lives currently in Korea and understands this issue on a very real level (lolㅠㅠ),
most carriers in the world use a VoLTE standard defined by the 3GPP. What Google claims regarding baking VoLTE into Marshmallow is according to the 3GPP standard. This is why I can buy a phone in Spain and take it to Germany and use it no problem (for the most part).
But Korean carriers established their own VoLTE standard called TTA-VoLTE before 3GPP could create an international standard. So any phones bought in Korea likely won't work with VoLTE abroad, and vice-versa (save for some exceptions).
In terms of carrier, the key exception is LG U+; since their network depends exclusively on LTE and CDMA, for BYOD customers (해외구매폰) they have to support the 3GPP standard on top of the TTA-VoLTE standard (see link below). There are some success stories of people taking their Hong Kong phones and using it on LG U+, their LatAm Samsung phones, etc.
In terms of phones, iPhones and some Google phones, some Sony phones (flashed with Korean ROMs), and some LG phones supposedly support TTA-VoLTE (check 2nd link).
My advice? If you have the phone with you, either take it to LG U+, see if they can register the phone as "OM-Phone" (Open Model), and see if VoLTE works; or just live without VoLTE as I have been doing for the past 2 years (ㅠㅠ).

Volte

Hi I have Taiwanese HTC 10.. s-off.. inlocked bootloader.. converted to wwe...runnung latest 1.90 firmware with viper rom..I am from India and my service provider JIO fully supports VOLTE
I cannot use VOLTE , and in the phone option, their is no choice of Volte..
Any ideas how to activate Volte calling on Htc10.
I think /system/customize/ACC/default.xml needs to be modified in order to do that..
Need help.
My understanding is WWE doesn't support VoLTE.
It is framework dependant and not just XML editing. You would need to flash back to the RUU for your country/market.

If you can, load US unlocked code, 1.91.617.1. It has August security patches, as well as VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling.

This may not work due to both a CID/MID mismatch and differing radios for his market.
I'm curious to see if it would though. Radio/framework mismatch may leave it not functioning on LTE properly.

Frankly I don't believe flashing US firmware, radios or OS will work. US software is optimized for our bands and carriers, not yours leaving performance questionable.
Is your 10 a lifestyle or regular HTC 10?
Your best bet is to flash the most recent software for your market and if that allows VoLTE them great and if not then not much you can do.

Can any one Provide with the HTC engineering Code? If you can provide with that code, than enabling VOLTE is possible. Just few settings to be changed and VOLTE can be activated.

I had a chat with HTC customer care just now, and they said HTC 10 won't support VoLTE in India. They say the phone does not have the hardware specifications for Jio VoLTE, or even the upcoming Airtel-VoLTE.
You should have told that uneducated fool not to lie
SD820 includes GPU, CPU and Radio hardware inside it, it is not an independant hardware.
Those bastards just don't want to upgrade it
U should know that in other countries VoLTE is supported.
In Australia it was enabled via software update for Vodafone customers (pls confirm this fact urself)
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/5tce24/htc_10_in_australia_seems_to_be_getting_the/
unless the VOLTE in india is so different to other country it is hard to imagine why it will not work except HTC don't want to include it.
anyway did you try the Jio4GVoice app?
@DummyPLUG Yes. Jio4GVoice app is working.
I think we should comment bomb their FB and Twitter
What say u guys?(Indian owners)
Other country users also please support our cause and question their software support

Yes. I had a chat with HTC. they are talking rubbish saying its a hardware issue. what pisses me off is we pay so much money to these companies and they neglect us. even cheap Chinese phones got volte support. but HTC developers are lazy to include a volte option. what a shame.
I had a chat with HTC customer support today and I got a positive response regarding VoLTE update
I have a htc10 from Dubai
Took me 15-20 days working on it with diff rom and radios finally
Now my jio(India) sim is working on it
It does not show Volte on the top but call, 4g and sms is working

It is a Samsung Variant based issue.
I have the SM-A505G variant and US carriers even though the phone is provisioned for VoLTE will only let calls go through on UMTS/HSPDA/HSPUA 3.5G . Only the U variant will work on VoLTE. I believe the G variant firmware will only be compatible with Latin America carriers even though they have US LTE bands. Weird.
I also have the SM-A505G variant and am using it successfully in the USA with VOLTE on the T-Mobile Network.

The U variant is officially distributed in the US so it should work with VOLTE in US/N.A.. Samsung or some carriers probably block other variants from accessing VOLTE through a whitelist. Probably for product segmentation.

ATz&T is GSM Verizon is CDMA incompatible
Perhaps @sw1173 is a dinosaur or a forum troll?
Verizon 4G LTE is not CDMA. It's 4G LTE and fully compatible with 4G LTE used by other carriers around the globe. Verizon 2g and 3g is CDMA, and only still exists to support older cellular data and IoT devices and some dinosaurs using ancients relics for devices. Verizon announced they were planning on completely shutting down their CDMA network the end of 2019, but just recently decided to postpone the shutdown for up to another year. Verizon has been permitting activation of an ever expanding list of unlocked phones for some time now, including devices like the OnePlus 6T that has no CDMA support, just 4G LTE. If you already have a 4G LTE device activated, you can swap the SIM into another 4G LTE device and as long as it has radio band support for Verizon's spectrum (use frequencycheck.com) as well as software support for Verizon's VoLTE settings, you're good to go. They don't seem to have a VoLTE whitelist like AT&T.
Sadly, the bootloader on the US Snapdragon S9 can not be unlocked at this point (no hacks) like the foreign SM-G960F(D)/965F(D) (Exynos with unlocked bootloader) or the SM-G9600/9650 (Snapdragon with unlocked bootloader) in order to install custom ROMs. I suggest everyone avoid US Samsung phones, period, because of this, and be sure to share your discontent with Samsung. Personally, if I were you, I would get the SM-G9600 or SM-G9650 (China / Latin America Version), root it (easy), and flash the files here to get Verizon support:

If you buy or have a carrier unlocked US S9, including from AT&T, you can use it with any US carrier, including Verizon. You'll probably want to flash the Verizon firmware on it to get Verizon features including WiFi calling though:

Presently you can't unlock the boot loader on the n960u therefore you can't flash Verizon's firmware. Call Verizon and you will be told they are CDMA and are not changing but are adding capability for 5G after 1/1/2020, which will allow the use of various GSM devices to use their CDMA network.. I just spoke with Verizon sales and their technical support.

incorrect, this has been incorrect since the S8 when Sammy decided to not make different models for the US market. All S9's built for the US market are physically identical

in addition to this correct information, id like to add that phones can be debranded by flashing the U1 firmware, but will require a modded Odin in order to get around the write protections put in place meant to stop us from doing that

incorrect. Well, youre right in saying that it cant currently be unlocked or rooted, but you CAN flash verizons firmware. Verizon hasnt been a cdma carrier strictly speaking for a decade. LTE has always been GSM, and ever since vzw jumped on board, theyve been a hybrid at best. On top of that, with VoLTE becoming more and more popular, their cdma transceivers have been getting less and less usage every day. 5G isnt going to be the splash a lot of folks think it will either. New handsets to support a new communication method that just isnt needed in most places. And finally, most handsets produced in the last few years are hybrids, especially those sold in several countries. The biggest exception to that rule is the chinese phones that dont even have cdma radios in them.

T-Mobile US compatibility of A50 NA/US version

Hey all. I'm looking to pick up a A50 but I'm having difficulty finding information on it's compatibility with T-Mobile. Does anyone here have the 64GB or 128GB variants of the North American A50 and can confirm full compatibility with T-Mobile's LTE network? Also does Wi-Fi calling work?
I'm currently looking at the 64GB model sold by Best Buy and Amazon (model# SM-A505UZKNXAA). I'd like to get the 128GB international model (model# SM-A505UZKNXAA) but I don't think it works on T-Mobile.

T-Mobile supports VoLTE and VoWiFi on compatible phones like my Nokia 7.1. Sadly you can only confirm a phone is compatible by entering an IMEI and I don't want to buy this phone just to have to return if it's not supported.
As you can see my version of the phone is FN, but I have VoLTE (Right upper corner).
But are you ok T-Mobile's US network? If not, you can't answer my question.

S20 (0 - Hong Kong variant or F/DS - Dual SIM international) in Canada

Hi,
Does anyone have the 0 or F/DS variant in Canada and do any of the following features work for you? If they do or don't please also post your carrier (I'm on Telus).
- WiFi Calling
- LTE-A
- VoLTE
- e-SIM
Looking at getting the Hong Kong variant since e-SIM isn't even a working function in Canada or the USA for that matter when the iPhone and other phones get it. Every year I push myself closer and closer to just getting an iPhone. Boot loader completely locked down, check. Can't root, check. VoLTE doesn't work unless it's a carrier phone, check. No e-SIM, check. Like what's the point of an Android anymore? All the above features work on an iPhone no matter what carrier (or country for that matter) you bought it from. Samsung is a mush of CSC files, hardware variants, LTE bands...
Thanks,

No such thing as a perfect device, likely never will be. Best option is to list feature priorities then decide. i have the Hong Kong variant on T-mobile USA. Dual SIM which eliminates the need for an eSIM, bootloader is unlocked, can root the device. WiFi Calling and VoLTE function but no Carrier Aggeration (LTE-A). I wouldn't consider the F/DS variant, it has the Exynos SoC. Not an iPhone fan either, not impressed with their devices or ecosystem.
Thanks for the reply, its nice to see at least VoLTE and WiFi calling work (at least on T-Mobile in the USA). Anyone here on Telus? LTE-A isn't a priority considering a single band is typically fast enough for me these days, if I'm on a lower band it's for a reason (like distance). Does your dual SIM phone still support e-SIM? It's nice just to scan a plan and get going verses hunting the airport / local stores for a SIM.
Priority for me goes:
1) WiFi Calling
2) VoLTE
3) e-SIM
4) LTE-A

eSIM isn't available unless you aquire an International Variant with the Exynos SoC. I'm not aware of any Dual SIM devices which support eSIM. IMHO you have to really want the eSIM to sacrifice a device with a vastly inferior Exynos SoC.

No no, dual SIM would be best in that case. Anyone in Canada can comment on the above?
Does Wifi-Calling work on both SIMs or SIM/eSIM on the S2, if they are from a different region?
Both my providers allow Wifi-Calling abroad.
Can anybody please confirm?
I have a Telus S20+ only support VoLTE, no WIFI-Calling. The reason I get this phone because of esim such a big disappointment.
I have Hongkong variant s20 5G (sm-g9810) using in Sri Lanka.
The phone supports physical dual SIM , dual 5G, VoLTE , VolWIFI.
Only disappointment with Hongkong variant is the lack of e-sim support and Call recording feature.
