Finally Samsung has release Secure Folder to the Galaxy App store for the S7 and S7E. This is one of the truly great features I missed from the Note 7.
Now to find a way to transfer the My Knox files to Secure Folder....
How is the Knox folder different than secure folder? I have shortcuts in a folder on my public homescreen to my Knox secured apps. I call this folder "secure folder". I am running a note 5.

The only real difference is you can't see whats in Secure Folder until you login to it unlike My Knox that shows icons of the apps installed prior to logging in.

Ahh, I see. Makes sense I guess. I have used Knox for a long time even on my s6. It never bothered me to see the folders inside. They still needed my finger print to get in. So you could put your file "secrets to everything" in secure folder and no one would be the wiser.

For those who like using Pixel launcher, Secure Folder will cause the latest version of Pixel launcher to force close. It will also cause other launchers to show no apps in the app drawer.

I have confirmed that AppWidgetPicker work on ICS on Galaxy Nexus. If you are using a third party launcher. You should use AppWidgetPicker to better organize your widgets.
APK Link below.
That is all...

Push APK to your /System/App directory. Give all R/W permissions.
Someone should modify this for stock launcher. I can buy a coffee/beer for anybody who does

+1
Will definitely donate if someone gets this working on the stock launcher
Android's permission system means that apps cannot normally bind widgets themselves. (This is part of the reason you sometimes see missing widgets when you restore a launcher or WidgetLocker from Titanium Backup or similar). Instead the method third-party-apps use is to call another app (AppWidgetPicker, or a replacement for it like this one) which DOES have the permission because it's a system app (hence the unusual install process for this replacement).
The stock launcher is also a system app, and does have the needed permission to bind widgets itself. It's built to ONLY bind itself, rather than use a third party app. This means that the AppWidgetPicker replacement cannot be modified to make it work, however the launcher itself could be.
Curious, what don't you guys like about the widgets-in-drawer? The grid view versus the list, the lack of grouping-by-app compared with boombuler's mod? Both?

Yeah the lack of grouping by app is the worst thing, because certain apps have dozens of widgets and it takes ages to find the one you want. The iPhone style page-by-page side scrolling doesn't help either. I actually like how we can see previews of the widgets but the navigation is a bit of a nightmare right now.

Oh dear, there's a long list of reasons:
1. I now have 5 pages of widgets!!
2. It's visually shocking because everything is a difference size
3. You don't consistently get a view of what widgets will look like
4. It takes longer to get to and then find a widget
Add and app with 20 widgets built in and you'll see. It sucks in my opinion. We need a list based picker for sure, ideally one with a preview mode.
Since you're here... any chance WL can have an option to hide the soft keys on the Nexus so it runs full screen? Also the 'recent apps' button isn't deactivated by WL so it still pops up...
Thanks, works great with the new Nova launcher

Hi,
if you post my apps, please take at least the latest version...
Original thread + new version is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780828
Widget picker works with Jelly Bean 4.1 too as I've just tried it on my GNEX. Same procedure as the first post mentions.
Add up to 6 shortcuts to second screen. This means one more. I tried to do 7, but I simply don't have enough screen space with proper padding to squeeze in 7.
I can only confirm this working on the pure stock rom. Try on others, but do a backup first.
Another finding is you have to use the stock launcher to add it. The reason this is, is because you have to drag and drop it into second screen from the homescreen or app drawer. Once you have it set you can go back to using your launcher of preference.
Installation:
Flash attached zip through recovery or unzip it and move to system\priv-app\ConeShortcut and set perms rw-r-r. I am also including the original app in .bak format in case some forget to backup their original.
Again as of now I can only confirm working on the stock rom and using the stock launcher to set. Second screen is tied into so many aspects of the system so it is a very tricky thing to work on.
As you can see from the screenshots if you try to add it from the settings menu you will only have 5 options. If you look at the preview screen you can see my 6 apps and that I'm able to shuffle them around.
Thanks, I applied this mod to the rom I'm using the No-NaMe ROM!! And it's working flawlessly. Keep them coming.
Just wondering if you can get this mod to work on the other second screens such as recent or contacts.
Works great. Hope this is a gateway to other mods for the second screen.

Everything.. App shortcuts, signature, second screen apk, build prop, system ui, framework res, and the stock launcher. It's pretty much incorporated into every major aspect of the system somewhere.
I was thinking that too becauae after I updated to xposed 79 I started having some issues too..

I wonder if the settings menu can be modified to fit the extra shortcut as well. Also I wonder what other things could be done with the second screen. Seems to me like the default features are somewhat limited. What I would like to see is functioning widgets on the second screen.
Using apex launcher, if you tap and hold the background, you get a menu that pops up to add things to the home screen , if you select "shortcut" and then "activities" you get a list of all sorts of menus, many of the menu items aren't functional, seems there are a lot of settings and features that are included in the base Android version being used, and the features were removed, however the hidden menus for these features still exist through these "activities" shortcuts, many developer options can be accessed. For example there's a hidden menu to change notification LED settings, to change LED color etc, even though the v10 has no notification LED. There's a whole drop-down section for second screen, including a "background chooser". The background chooser opens up and lets you crop an image to the exact dimensions of the second screen, however when you apply the settings, nothing happens. It seems LG was in the process of developing further features but stopped... Maybe we can take the next step

Most likely some things will be implemented on the next v series phone. The code has been written just not intiated..
Why should we wait and hope it gets done on the next phone, and then spend all our money on it... Why not just initiate the code ourselves? If I had more coding knowledge, and a more structured chain of thought... Lol I have the processing power to figure this stuff out, just not enough ram..
Does anyone have the orig. apk or zip file. The Fav. App Tab disappeard and i need the original file t fix the issue.
Hi all,
I uninstalled the secure folder because it is conflict with NOW launcher. the app drawer is not showing any app. Anyway to reinstall it?
Thanks.
Do you mean the secure folder? I don't think there is a way. They don't like each other. I've only been able to run either Google Now Launcher or My Secure folder. Uninstalling Secure folder should make the app drawer work properly. if it's not showing properly, you man need to reinstall the launcher.

Hi it is an add on app which is called secure folder. i uninstalled it and the app drawer for NOW launcher appears.
Check through your settings if there is an installation option. If not maybe the Samsung App Store?
Sent from my OnePlus 3
If you want to re-install Secure Folders, go to Settings -> Lock Screen and security. Scroll down to where it says Secure Folders. This will put it back in.
However, Google Now Launcher will stop working. If you want to put back the TouchWiz, you can either uninstall Google Now, or go to Settings -> Applications. Select Default Applications in the upper right. Near the bottom is Home Screen, select that and change it back to TouchWiz.
Thanks all. Either now or secure. Sad

angka8, have you tried Nova Launcher? You can get it to look pretty much like Google Now if you want. It's pretty customizable. The only think you can't get is Swipe Left for Google now. You can have it activate other ways. Some people have it set when you swipe up. I have mine to activate when I press the Home button on the home screen. I'm a huge fan of Google Now, but was Nova was recommended to me. It looks exactly the same and Secure Folder works with it.
Strange, both are working fine together for me. I have no problem accessing my app drawer.

So coming from a Samsung phone (note edge) I'm missing a few things like
Hiding icons/apps in the drawer. Is there such option?
Creating folders in the app drawer.
Am I to stupid to find these options somewhere?

Nope, they're nonexistent on Pixel launcher. You'll need a 3rd party launcher to do those things. Pixel Launcher is and will likely remain uncostomizable.
I too would like to be able to lock certain apps and also have a hidden folder.

Not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve, but have you looked into certain "apphider" apps? they have app hider apps that install on your phone and actually need a pin you can create to access. It's almost like having another App drawer on your phone that is hidden and you can install apps into that hidden area. food for thought

Not sure why you guys dont look in the SECURITY section in the settings menu.
But my phone as a built in phone lock option, where you need the pin or pattern /fingerprint of the phone to open apps.
Also, there is a launcher option to change if you want an app drawer, or all apps on the desktop.
