I forgot to tell that I'm living in Tijuana & Mexicali Mexico, so I used Movistar and since then I don't get 4G or LTE but still can handle callings..

[Q] Convert a model to international, is this possible?

i everyone.
I have a verizon m8, which I bought from usa. But I live in turkey and I we dont have lte networks here.
So I always use my phone with gsm.
I am sick of verizon's this is not a verizon sim card warning all the time.
I s-off ed my device and supercid. Changed my mid to developer edition
After it I flashed a 401 firmware.
Everything went good so far.
But I tried to installed a rom (Insertcoin, ARHD) and I got error while installing any of them.
There was an error while installing the kernel.
I flashed stock kernel or Elemental but I ended with bootloop to bootloader.
Is conversation possible, does anyone know the exact process of this?
Thanks

Probably won't work as the Verizon model has different radios in it to the International one so even if it'll flash it might not connect to the GSM network as Verizon are a CDMA network in the US

Thanks for your answer, but as I said I am already using it with gsm at the moment.
There's no way and you should not be flashing things from this forum. Worst case scenario, your phone bricks.

Updating att branded phone t-mobile

I have an s-offed att branded phone on t-mobile. It's running an old ruu t-mobile. I just downloaded an update to lollipop. I can just run the update?
Possibly...
you need to check a few things... what's your phone's cid set to? (you can see this in your boot loader screen).
As a general rule, I've found that if I run t-mobile radio's I have more problems than if I run either a native AT&T or the DEV edition radio and then t-mobile firmware on-top of that radio... my phone doesn't seem to do some of the hspa bands from t-mobile...
check your cid, before you do much of anything else...
If he's running a tmo ruu, i would assume he's running super cid.
I would also have to assume that he's changed the mid to tmo?
scifan, have you considered using DFS to set your bands?

What is the mid and DFS?
I have a Verizon branded m8 and am using a t-mobile mvno
(straight talk) SIM. I am considering changing RoMs from viper one to one off if the t-mobile thread in order to solve this problem of random service disconnections. Should I switch to a different Ruu? Should I have changed the RUU when I was on stock?
I apologize if the this should be on another or is own thread.
Thanks so much!

DO NOT, repeat DO NOT try to "convert" your Verizon M8 to T-Mob (with T-Mob RUU). The partitioning (possibly hardware) is different. The T-Mob RUU won't work, and may result in a permanent radio brick.
I'm not sure what is causing the service disconnects. Does the issue occur if you only use 2G and 3G? You may consider looking at enabling the proper LTE bands used by T-Mobile. From what I see, the Verizon M8 supports the proper bands that T-Mob uses for 2G and 3G. However, the VZN version only supports one of the two LTE bands (Band 4) used by T-Mob (Bands 4 and 17). Enabling LTE band 17 may or may not help. The missing support for LTE Band 17 may be related to your disconnect issues, but that's just a theory.
The hitch here, is that trying to enable LTE Band 17 requires s-off, which costs $25 by sunshine app (if you are not already s-off). And its not a sure solution, so may be money wasted.
You can take a look at the following threads, on how to enable bands on the Verizon M8. But I don't personally vouch for these:

Awesome thanks. I paid the 25 dollars for s-off already to root the phone. Sunshine works like a charm.
I'll check out the links you provided. I have a feeling your theory is correct. You described how I felt the problem was but lacked the knowledge to produce words to describe. Thanks again.
I don't know whether this is the right thread to ask this question but if you do know kindly advise me; i recently bought a T-mobile M8 which was imported from USA and had sim unlocked but i don't know other details except that its not rooted (that i checked with supersu). May be it was imported as scrap since it's an old model and may be it was unlocked from t-mobile, i just have no idea. Now the phone is asking me for a few updates which describe to tell me that these are intended to prepare phone for marshmallow update (currently it's on jellybean). Should i allow update to progress or not? i don't want to loose sim unlock.

HTC 10: No Data in Central America

I have an unlocked HTC 10, running Android 7.0 (2.51.617.32), I have it rooted with S-Off. In the states I had also modified it to use it on Verizon, besides that it is stock. I am currently doing a job in Nicaragua and decided to get a local sim though CLARO Mobil, phone should be compatible on band 4. Unfortunately, I get no data connection.... I have tried manually setting an APN, as well as playing with the setting on the 'secret menu' (*#*#4636#*#*) no luck thus far I either get 'emergency calls only', or voice and text with Data Technology on disconnected or at one point saying connecting but never successfully. Thoughts?
I picked up an HTC 10 partially on the premise of all the international bands it has and the potential for international connections.
Bumpity Bump Bump?
Bumpin' for a new hope

That did it! Thank you! I guess rewriting the radios to Verizon's isn't in harmony with international travel.

No LTE HTC 10 Sprint Nougat/Oreo !

Ht c 10
Sprint

When i purchased this phone it was running Viper nougat rom with functional LTE
I updated to oreo firmware and lte gone. It would only show 3g where as i am in full lte coverage zone
I flashed different oreo and pie roms but fruitless
I tried to fix by erasing modemst1 and 2 but it always give error of 35 partition
Today i downgraded to Nougat and erase persist but it is still same
i can only get 3g no 4g or lte
I tried network reset by ##72786# but it eventually sim locked my phone and i had to unlock it manually
Any suggestion or possible fix
Thanks in advance
did you find the answer?
I have also lost connection. Except mine is both 3G and 4G. Oddly I can still call, text, use wifi and putting the sim in my other phone works just fine. I have no clue what's wrong. I've tried everything at this point.
Here's a link to my thread if you wish to follow any solutions provided if someone comments.

It had same situation but eventually I solved it. Now LTE is working. First of all, need to be S-OFF and then after unlocking SIM, you can install any firmware with any ROM that supports the encryption...Either US unlocked or UK International Roms will fix the LTE issue. One thing to notice: you must keep the data partition unformatted for keeping the SIM lock status and need to use SPRINT or VERIZON radio. I am using stock Oreo from with Verizon radio + Magisk.
In addition, I unlocked LTE bands as well with DFS Qualcomm tool
