I would like to know the security details about how the fingerprint is stored inside an ROM (AOSP e.g) and apps. It's stored in hardware or software encrypted? And decrypted how?
Would be a security concern think about fingerprint stolen by apps or ROMs?
Thank you very much!

So i got the fingerprint problem and as far as I can tell it must be a software problem, because the scanner works fine in all the non stock Roms such as linageos.
- when i try to use the scanner it says "fingerprint hardware not available"
I want to go back to the stock Rom because of battery life.
Anyone that has Found a solution yet?
Hi.

i'm not quite sure what you mean by "compilation" but i have tried loads of stock roms both 6.0.1 and 7.1.1.
The AOSP roms are the ones with a working fingerprint scanner, both Mokee and Linage works flawless in that aspect, but the battery life on those aren't nearly as good.
I think once you are rooted/unlock boot-loader, the fingerprint sensor will be out of wack. I think what the previous poster meant was if you saved DRM files. so you didnt lose any sony stuff..
If the bootloader is unlocked, this is another problem causing from WIDEVINE, a DRM feature. I'm not sure renaming widevine files to .bak will help removing this problem, since I don't use the fingerprint. But be my guest.
Hello,
I never unlocked or rooted my note 8 pro but I have security concerns after I found some odd behavior. I also have reasons to believe it's happening and experienced previous hacking. Is there any ROM that improve security, or that let you improve security by installing other apps (e.g. firewaill apps requiring root etc...).
Thanks

Generally I would recommend these alternatives:
CalyxOS
GrapheneOS
LineageOS
Resurrection Remix OS
/e/ Foundation
But as what I find there are really just two options for you:
Resurrection Remix OSResurrection Remix OS is an Android-based OS which focuses on security and stability. It is very customizable and contains many personalization options out-of-the-box. Uses so called OTA-updates which makes it very easy to update to new version and therefore enables you to always be up to date with security updates.

/e/ FOUNDATION/e/ is the “unGoogled” version of Android. It ships without any Google apps or Google services accessing your personal data. It has high compatibility for apps. It do automatically decipher the app code, so that you can see which and how many trackers are in the app. It also shows all the permissions the app is using and gives you an easy-to-read scoring for whether an app seems safe or not.

It isn't ginkgo. It's begonia. And all are unofficial.

* Method 1
1/Backup your data
2/Unlock bootloader
3/Use Mi flash tools to flash (fastboot rom) and lock again
* Method 2
1/Backup your data
2/Bypass
3/Use SP flash tools to flash fastboot rom
Don't download random apps from Google Play Store and click on random links on Internet. And Miui is more security than other custom roms. It asks for permissions everytime you install apps or do anything (That make me sick and change to custom rom). So don't blame rom for your fault. Time to change your password and anything. If you dont use China phone, I suggest flash Indonesia rom for Miui Dialer + Gapps.
Custom Rom with Android 12 and Encryption working out of the box
....Is there such a thing??
I need to enroll it with Airwatch in my workplace otherwise I can't use it. it needs to be unrooted, with latest security patches and encrypted....please SOS :/
AOSP extended is great but encryption does not work, also CRdroid, fluid and a few more...

Anyone ?
Good afternoon!
After replacing the display, the fingerprint scanner disappeared from the settings. During the repair, the scanner was moved to a new display.
When trying to flash the scanner through the site https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/steps
Gives an error - TP1A.221105.002 is newer than this repair tool has
Please, tell me how can i fix this ?

If you continue to experience issues with the fingerprint reader, you should check for an available OS update on your Pixel 6 and update to the latest version of Android. Maybe you didn't update earlier or a new update could bring more improvements to the fingerprint sensor
Sorry for the ignorance, but I recently saw that the Lineage OS ROM for the Pixel 6 Pro has been officially released and I have some doubts.
I haven't installed ROMs for years (since the CYANOGEN MOD for the s7 edge) and then it was worth making the change.
But now, with the configuration that sells Stock ROMS for our mobile, would it be worth making the change? I remember that before when you installed the cyanogen, it lost camera quality, will it continue to happen? Another question I have is with the issue of payment via NFC, will there be any inconvenience at the same time as installing the bank's app and downloading the cards?
Thanks a lot for the answers!
I have lineage installed with safetynet-fix
I like it cause you can take an ota and not have plug the phone into PC, reroot etc. Camera is the same with google camera
It's a stable rom.

It's not officially supported but I've had it working on LineageOS (and 99% of custom ROMs) with the following (obviously you also have to hide Google Wallet in magiskhide or whatever your NFC payment is): https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...tion-x-7-6-1-02-22-2023.4546503/post-88225237
If you just want to flash LOS and not have root, you won't be able to use Google Pay or most apps that check safety net (banking apps, streaming apps, etc...)

continuation of cyanogenmod
is it worth it to flash LineageOS on Pixel? I mean on Pixel Phone are only Google Apps and not all the other Bloatware stuff.

Honestly, I wouldn't until after the P6P is no longer supported by Google. You may - not will - lose some Pixel-only features by installing a custom ROM, and of course losing Google Pay unless you root and install the Safetynet fix mod.

This and also trwp is still not available to make backups of the entire os. I am stuck on stock (which tbh im fine with since I have root and everything works fine). Wait till they officially discontinue the os for the phone.
I'm on stock A14 DP2 rooted. Some minor bugs, but nothing serous. One thing I very much miss from my previous phone is double tap to wake. Stock Google only allows single tap to wake, which is a deal breaker for me as there are too many unintentional wakeups that way.
I recently installed LOS 20 on my son's Oneplus 6, and double tap to wake is indeed present there. My question is, does that work for a P6/P6 Pro or would I be stuck with single tap or nothing?

That's a ROM function so you should have double tap capability if you install LineageOS.
Is there a difference between customization with lineage and stock? I've installed lineage on this phone before and i didn't see any customization options like cyanogenmod did on older devices. I noticed ricedroid and crdroid have customization settings for many things. So does lineage not have any customization or am I missing something here?
There is some customization, but it's low key compared to Cyanogenmod. Most customizations can be done with apps.
