I tried like hell to get that jazz set up.... for like 2 days. It was a total bust. And it really frustrated the hell out of me. I've been working on computer hardware for about 20 years now. I can explain what a column address strobe or a sense amp is to a total rube, but I can't get just ONE software geek to explain software. I mean, I REALLY wish I could because I look as how a lot of stuff works and KNOW whoever wrote the stuff was making some piss-poor assumptions about what his hardware actually does.

[Q] Now that WebOS is OpenSource

Do you think that someone will develope a WebOS/Android hybrid? That would be awesome! If there is a such ROM, would someone so kindly point me in the direction of it please? lol
Thanks!

[Q] Tutor neeeded!

I have been working on learning to develop and give back to the community. I am currently working on a speedy port. It is my first attempt at a rom and could use some guidance. I don't want anyone to do it for me. Just to explain some things and point me in the right direction. Any dev's willing to help, I would be grateful.
It really isn't something we can just "tutor" you in a thread. You need to have a lot of programming background. Perhaps you should start by taking a few classes or reading a few books on the subject.

Thanks for the helpful posts. I have been working on different aspects of development for a while now. I have my port booting and usable for the most part. I need help figuring out what is wrong with it so I can start fixing it. I feel that there probably isn't that much wrong with it but I am not 100% sure. Also need to learn smali. Other than that, I am fairly knowledgeable in Linux in general.

Team Android - Watertown, NY

Hey,
Just moved to Watertown, NY and was wondering if anyone local would be interested in joining a group of Android enthusiasts I'm trying to get started. Not entirely sure what the purpose could be, maybe make money buying, fixing, and selling phones/tablets. Or help people fix their devices. Or we could even develop our own ROM.
I'm not sure if anything like this has been done before, but I like to help people and love learning about Android. Maybe I'm not the only one? Let me know if you're interested or have any ideas! Thanks!
