hi, can any1 post step to step procedure for taking stock ROM backup.
you need a custom recovery to do that.
try fastbooting twrp, if you get twrp installed via fastboot, then reboot recovery, take a nandroid backup.

Apparently you don't have custom recovery installed, flash it first.
fastboot flash recovery *name of the recovery*.img
After that you can boot into custom recovery and start flashing stuff Make sure you do a nandroid backup

I'm using a custom rom, after unlocking bootloader and custom CWM.
Before I installed the custom rom I did a backup in CWM of the original rom (O2 branded, 1.26.xxxx).
Now there is an OTA from O2 and I want to go back to my original rom. So, I tried the following:
- boot into CWM
- whipe everything
- restored the backup
But...the phone doesn't want to boot. It stays in the white screen with HTC logo. What's going on here? Someone knows what I'm doing wrong?
Has it something to do with the franco-kernel I used?
Please help!!
Thanks in advance
First of all even if you do manage to get your backup restored the OTA update wont work because you have the Clockwork Recovery installed. In order to install OTA updates you must have the Stock recovery.
My advice would be to just ask your chef to update the custom Rom that you are using to the latest OTA (most have done so already). Failing that relock the bootloader, flash the O2 RUU and then update OTA.
Clockworkmod won't restore the boot image from backups , so you'll have to take it out the backup and flash it in fastboot.
Thank you both. It's done yet!
So after i flashed a rom on my P5200 i always bootloop to TWRP
and i tried to wipe all data but no use
so please someone help me
oh and i can access download mode
TWRP causes problems...at least it did mine.. Restore the backup (hopefully you made one) with TWRP and flash a different recovery, like clockwork mod (CWM).

i did not do a backup !!!
what should i do?
Power it off completely boot up in Download mode. Then connect it to the PC and use Odin to flash CWM on it.
For future reference, always make a backup before you do ANYTHING.
I'm attempting another go on getting back to stock on my HOX.
I'm looking for the stock recovery 4.18.401.2.
I've found a lin k in a earlier thread, but there I can only find the 4.18.401.3.
Does this matter? Can I use that one?
Am I correct, when restoring a nandroid back up, that I first need tot flash the recovery.img (and the boot.img) from the nandroid back-up, and after I restored the backup, flash the stock recovery?
Any 4.18 recovery will do. And yes, to restore a nandroid, flash the recovery that it's inside the backup folder, flash the boot.img, and restore from recovery the nandroid backup. Then u can flash the stock 4.18 recovery to go 100% stock.

So I installed the nandroid back up, after flashing the boot and recovery from the backup.
After that I flashed the stock recovery, but just no luck.
When I boot into recovery I get the custom recovery.
Also when installing the OTA ..401.04 update, it failes and returns to the custom recovery.
After the backup and flashing the recovery, I did not flash the stock boot.img.
Is that the problem?
Then you either flashed the wrong recovery, or you didn't flash it correct.
Flash this one

Nope.
I'm on latest ob18. I am able to flash it, and run it once, but after reboot, the stock recovery gets Back. Any ideas?
Just Reflash twrp via flashify or adb in fastboot mode, that could be normal if u r flash an unmodified stock rom
Yep. On latest ob-Oos or H2o for me recovery stays, after instaltion of the rom. But on a second reboot, stock recovery shows and i reflash custom recovery again.
Guys I flashed latest H2OS beta over OOS Beta18 and lost access to recovery. These are the steps I followed, please help.
1. Backup current ROM (OB18)
2. Dirty Flash New H2OS version
3. Flash recovery image again
4. Reboot system
ROM booted without any problems and all my data is present but I lost access to TWRP.
Solution attempted: Reboot to fastboot and flash recovery image again, the process is successful but still TWRP is not coming up.
Please help. Thanks in advance
Stock rom always over writes recovery best way to get it to stick is flash stock zip than twrp reboot to twrp and reboot or flash mods/root
