i am just a novice but.......I did a clean install of the 1/23 rom with the mini gapps and everything went well as expected. Wifi, calls/data, bluetooth, battery life, camera all work perfectly for my limited needs.
The only hiccup I had was in doing the the 1/30 update. When doing the update using settings, Lineage will download the update and boot to TWRP, but will not automatically install the update. Easy enough though, as I performed the update manually.
I can't complain. I have a five year old device with up to date software and security patch. All I can say is thanks to these amazing developers.

Did you use the addonsu*.zip file (https://download.lineageos.org/extras) to root the device. If so, did you have any problems?
No I didn't. I was only changing roms from cyanogenmod to lineage.
With 2017-02-13 nightly installed, I was able to finally performed a successful backup and restore in TWRP 3.0.2-0.
Phone was setup with a clean install using the following:
lineage-14.1-20170213-nightly-d2att-signed.zip
addonsu-arm-signed.zip
open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20170213.zip
Automatic syncing of date and time with network does not work all the time on 2017-02-13 nightly.
If you set the date and time to use network provided time (Settings\Date & Time\Automated date & time) it uses the correct time for a while but then switches to some random time.
Other people I know have had this problem and some of them are on different cell providers.
I had to turn off the automatic settings and set the date and time manually.

Same problem here. Also home button wake the device regardless of the setting under buttons sub menu and a very erratic compass after several attempts to calibrate.
Anyone getting "Updater process ended with ERROR 7" error with installing 20170220 update?

I did, so downloaded again and still the same... Wiped everything and flashed it anew; working great.... simply can't update existing rom... or so it seems...

Yep, previous nightlies I could dirty flash. However, 2017-02-20 nightly I could only clean flash to install.
In TWRP:
Dalvik/ART Cache - Wipe
System - Wipe
Data - Leave
Internal Storage - Leave
Cache - Wipe
Micro SDCard - Leave
USB OTG - Leave
Dirty flash produces error
Dalvik/ART Cache - Wipe
System - Wipe

Cache - Wipe
Micro SDCard - Leave
USB OTG - Leave
Clean flash produces no error
UPDATE: 2017-02-21 nightly can be dirty flashed
20170221 update works nicely in updating previous versions.

This is still problematic int the 2017-02-27 nightly. At least on my device, it's a time zone issue. That is, the automatic time zone setting isn't working. So, the minutes are right, but the device shows GMT instead of CST/CDT.
Everything else seems to be working, and I find Lineage OS a bit "snappier" than Oct-OS - probably because of the absence of add-ons. But, hey, it's a 4.5-year-old phone.
New TWRP version 3.1.0-0 released!
https://dl.twrp.me/d2att/
Anyone notice a moderate improvement of the compass (I had not checked in months since cm). My readings used to be wildly variable, however now it seems to be consistently off 20 degrees.
FYI: After encrypting the phone with 20170320 nightly installed, the sim card is not recognized.
First I did a CLEAN install of 20170320 nightly; sim recognized.
Next I did not make any changes except encrypted the phone; sim NOT recognized.
SIM not recognized
After the first boot on 20170328 the SIM card is recognized but once the device is rebooted the SIM card is not recognized anymore, the same with 20170320.
FYI: Posted over on reddit an inquiry on the status of the compass accuracy on our D2att LineageOS device.
https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/64v74o/d2att_compass_accuracy/
The d2att does not appear to be supported anymore by LineageOS.
There are no maintainers listed at https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/d2att anymore.
And then there is this in blazing red on the page:
"The Samsung Galaxy S III (AT&T) is either unmaintained or does not meet the criteria needed for official LineageOS support status. A build guide is available for developers that would like to make private builds, or even restart official support."
If anyone has any news it would be appreciated.

Thanks to tjensen For posting this.
For those wondering, Yesterday (04/14/2017), I posted the following on reddit:
Samsung Galaxy S3 not supported anymore?
https://www.lineageoslog.com/14.1/d2att Unless I'm incorrect Lineage 14.1 support for d2att, d2spr, d2tmo and d2vzw has been discontinued. Can anyone confirm this?

Just last week the d2att was ranked 89th out of 1,254 devices for the most installs of the LinageOS (according to LinageOS stats page).
With that kind of popularity and interest I thought it was safe and would always have maintainers wanting to continue the builds. :crying:

Hello guys,
I've been using the Beta 4.0 for a while now and it works brilliantly, so I saw an update beta 3 I had to download it.
It has some bugs, not much apps like how you get in the beta, gapps not installing and my data is off but it is switched on.
Having a android phone with no gapps and data is useless, it's like having a nokia 3310, just phone text and that's it.
Please fix if possible.
Thanks

I installed PA 4.0 Beta 3 as well (yesterday) and I have none of the bugs you're describing: data (3G/2G) works, and Gapps not installing, that depends ENTIRELY on which Gapps you are using. I'm using the latest PA Gapps complete package (23/01/2014) and they just installed for me. So both of the bugs that you're experiencing are only on your end. Are you absolutely sure you set the Data icon correctly, because since Beta 3 PA uses a new Quicksettings systems. See in your systems if it's really working. Also check if your APN is still correct. Download and install the latest version of PA Gapps. If that still doesn't work, you should do a clean install (even though I didn't, I'm coming from CM11 Beta 3, just flashed the latest Gapps and PA 4.0 Beta 3 and everything was good to go).
To be honest you're being rude here and you obviously only tried installing everything once. Well this is a custom ROM scene and you need to do an effort yourself. What I see now is that you're using a "thumbs-down"-icon which is extremely discouraging, comparing this phone to an old dumb phone is also completely out of line because WiFi still works, and there are a ton of other things you could still do even without Gapps and data. This post just smells of you having a sense of entitlement, but don't forget that we're not paying deedwar. If a dev decides not to release a ROM that's very sad and it's all due to threads like these.
So what I'd like you to do now is rephrase your OP, use a positive icon and maybe we can turn this wasted thread into a discussion thread for PA Nozomi instead of a shouting contest.

That is very well said redstarr1 but i dont quite feel as strongly about it as you. I just see it as a logical statement. However it would help if you can expand on your issues somewhat. Did you do a clean install (wipe data / system / cache / dalvik) or just a dirty flash over the top. What network do you connect too and have you tried Changing your carrier in "access point names". Creating a whole thread for an issue but not elaborating on what you have and havent tried really makes it hard to help.
Beta 5
Hi guys,
The latest update beta 5 works just fine but a few bugs.
Sometimes the back button doesn't work, have to restart the phone for it to start working again.
When charging the wireless is activated, and the battery takes longer to charge.
The phone lags now and then but other than that works fine.
If anyone who can post this on the Xperia S development thread I would really appreciate it, I don't have rights to post on the development thread as yet.
Thanks
Beta 6
Hi guys,
The new update of Beta 6 for Paranoid is brilliant.
After the 1st boot the phone is a little slow but after the rom has settled it's very smooth.
So far all I have tested works perfectly, don't like the launcher much though, so I have my own custom launcher, Next launcher works brilliantly and very customizable. The new launcher's that are added aren't very good and would like if they could get the original launcher if possible.
Other than that all is well.
Thanks Paranoidanroid.
Pa beta 4.3 13052014
Thanks deedwar...the rom(PA 4.3 Beta 13052014) works like a charm. My battery lasts for a day...with data on(3G)....although there is issue of random reboots and the date setting to 1972th year...but i think it will be resolved in the next version i.e. Beta 5/6....Love your work..really appreciate it. :good:
Beta 6
Beta 6 is out..!! Great...!! Trying it now..!!
What about VOIP apps(Viber, line etc.) ? do they work on the latest build ? Cheers.
The latest build
Yes, the VOIP does work..(Viber, Skype etc.,)on the latest builds ..however, I am having a few system UI crashes while using option of any app from the notification bar..like when you're downloading an app from Playstore and which you wish to stop or pause from the by pulling down the notification bar. or using controls of the stock android walkman app.

I had installed beta 4. A few days ago I installed beta6 but after install and reboot sony logo appears and mobile does nothing more. I restored a backup and today I tried to install beta7 with the same problem. Has anyone the same problem or have any idea to solve it?
How did you install the ROM?
I assume you did wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing any ROM since you've installed several ROMs. If not, please do so.
Try flashing (with fastboot) a new kernel (twrp or cwm) followed by: (1) factory reset, (2) wipe cache, (3) wipe dalvik cache and then (4) install PA Beta 7.

I had some troubles trying to restore an old backup after the last failed installation. After the failed restore I tried to install Beta 7 again and It worked. I do not know why, but now I have beta7 working perfectly.

Unfortunately, ant+ does not work with android version 4.3 and onwards. This has something to do with the drivers I believe (not sure though). So it doesn't matter which ROM you try: all 4.3.x or 4.4.x will not have ant+ support...
Having FCs updating from beanstalk to paranoid
Hey guys! I recently have the beanstalk rom of deedwar for the Acro S and using the current stable build of the rom which is 4.4.278 then i want to try paranoid so heres what i did
1. I copied the paranoid zip file to my phone
2. Flashed the IMG file from the latest version of paranoid rom via Fastboot mode (i extracted it first)
3. Cleared system, factory reset, cache and dalvik cache
4. Installed the zip file
Well it worked and i have the rom but i experienced random FCs so i just reverted back to stock 4.1 ROM and also i am having trouble with some APPS too.. some apps install perfectly but sometimes they dont

Coming from stock rooted / unlocked Touchwiz KitKat
Cm12.1 installed just fine but when I rebooted and went to flash gapps I get a non-stop error saying "there's an internal problem with your device, and it may be unstable until you factory data reset."
So I factory reset the device and even installed CM 12.1 without gapps and it still gives me this error.
Factory reset again, try my recovery and I get an error mentoning UID's being messed up (I did this and it did not help http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...on-finally-t3151579/post61729442#post61729442 ) . So I factory reset again and flashed CM 12.1 without gapps and everything is fine.
Boot into recovery and flash gapps and boom the error again. Seems like the only way to get rid of the error (After many trials and errors) is to Restore recovery -> factory reset -> flash rom. The only problem is when I also flash gapps the error comes back.
Now here is the part where I can use YOUR help, in TWRP I keep saying red text that says
"E:error opening '/data/data/com/google.android.gms/files/images/games/de7f5650'
E:error: Not a directory"
on everything I do, from formating the system to flashing a rom. I think this is where my problem lies.
Other notes: No sd card,
when CM is working, I am getting no reception (Looks like a full but has ! next to it)
When CM is working, the messaging app does not even open and just instantly closes
OK I'll break into parts I see 1: gapps 2 signal 3:msg app.
1: GAPPS
cm 12.1 is android 5.1.* so you need to verify you have correct gapps. Use gapps for 5.1 hopefully that will fix problem. Factory reset, flash cm 12.1, flash gapps 5.1, wipe dev/cache, and reboot. Should be working fine after.
2: Signal is due to rom bugs but usually due to bad/wrong apn settings or bad efs/modem pretty much all the time from my experience. So I'll break that down from easiest to the latter and hopefully we'll fix it.
a: check you apn settings and see the attachments. I'm on lte tmo so if you aren't the Google apn setting for your carrier.
b: flash back up of moden/efs
3: msg app might be fixed since gapps was installed but if not only thing I can think of is clear data/cache for msg app.
Hope I could help

lineageos 16.0 is what I've been running on it, i needed a newer os cuz stock 5.0 was the last official version, and pokemon go was dropping support for the note 3 with stock roms, now switching to LineageOS 17.1 on my note 3 i'll update whether gapps works so you know

LineageOS 17.1 is android 10
btw I have sd cards in all my spare phones 8gb normally, so I am recommending a small sd card 4gb-16gb because it makes it easier to flash roms with twrp
google play works, gmail works, yt works, sound works, flashlight works, and camera works on LineageOS 17.1

i used the nano gapps from opengapps
the newest file version of lineageos 17.1 on their site
I had no problem with mobile data on official ROM but from the day I installed CM 13, I can not using mobile data anymore.
First of all, I installed CM 13 beta, then CM 13 stable and some nightly builds. Nothing changed!
I installed AOPS Nougat 7.0 Beta2 few weeks ago on my C2005.
I had "CM13-UNOFFICIAL-20160104-NIGHTLY" and data did not work, I updated it to "stable-20160527-NIGHTLY" (via cmupdater) and nothing changed. After few months, I installed AOPS Nougat 7.0 Beta2 but I can not use the data yet. I installed Nougat Beta2 via TWRP boot manager and wiped everything (all the data, cache, etc.) .
There is few weeks I've installed CM 14.1 on my C2005 and updated it to some nightly builds but the problem still exists after several months and several Android versions.
I installed CM 13 "stable-20160527-NIGHTLY" on my wife's C2005 and the data works a charm! Even I tried to flash mine to that version but problem still exists to my phone even with that version.
The only different between my phone and my wife's C2005 is that I didn't install TWRP on her phone and just installed CM13 with it's own recovery.
I tried instructions described in this link and the problem has not not solved yet.
The last thing is when I enable mobile data (SIM 1 or SIM 2) the cross mark but it does not change to H+ or other marks that shows I'm using data (attached screenshot).
Is hardware problem possible for this issue?
How can I provide CM logs for this problem to find out what's wrong with my phone?
Does someone else have such a problem?
Any idea about debugging and providing some logs?

Also, try flashing your device with official rom 4.3 again and try using internet on it. If it works you are doing something wrong in flashing other os, if not, it's device related.
Thanks for reply. Actually I can not use data on SIM1. It's OK for me and it shouldn't be necessarily on specific SIM.
I'm looking for another way of checking data rather than reflashing to official ROM and install CM again. Something like reading /var/log/something.log in Linux distros. Is anything like that possible on AOSP or CM?
No. You can try however reflashing and clean installing aosp 7 or cm14 again, alongwith with THIS patch for dual sim users. But before you install anything make sure you are on 4.3 firmware, or you are likely going to face the same problem again.
Data works on 2nd SIM.
Thank you all for your help.
Believe it or not, the data on 2nd SIM is usable, but 1st SIM.
It could be Edge or HSPA.
As the known bugs says, data is now work on 2nd SIM, I always tried to enable data on the 1st SIM, but few nights ago I had enough free time to check all the options and finally it worked!
Hi, I have the latest CM12 installed in my tablet, but I have a lot of issues, especially when installing multiple apps or if I try to change the Launcher. It gets into boot loop and there is nothing one can do but re-flash the rom, which is pretty annoying. It has happened to me already 3 times in a short while and I am thinking of flashing LineageOS. However, I hear it is still very buggy, especially the issues with wifi. So I would like to ask which is the least buggy Rom for 7.0 v410 or if there is a way to avoid CM12 from getting the problem with boot loop.
Boot loop has been caused when trying to change Launcher (because trebuchet regularly crashes), when installing x-plore file manager and in a clean flash when I attempted to install multiple apps at the same time. In all cases it got stack in boot loop, or would start only to restart after a while, endlessly.
Finally, I opted for LineageOS 14.1.
I had the 11-11 Nightly for some time and seemed fine. Today I updated to 25-11 Nightly. It feels maybe slightly laggy, but still checking it.
I have also installed "Best WiFi Keeper" app from play store and it generally keeps me connected. However, if connection is lost (e.g at restart or if I get out of range), I have to reconnect manually. I tried few apps for reconnecting but nothing worked. It appears that although the WiFi network is seen, the tablet cannot really re-establish the connection automatically.
I found Nothing stable yet.. In last few days, I have installed CM 12.1, same trouble.. I installed Tipsy and Tesle, unable to install apps from playstore. Tried CM 13 and Lineage OS latest build as you, Wifi Teathering and USB teathering not working and same problem with wifi connectivity. Keed posted if you find something better.. I shall too...
Tesla works great for me. I'm running a lollipop version that's still on androidfilehost; I'm not sure if GZR ever got updated beyond 5.1 for V410.
I've had CM 14.1 (long enough ago it was still CM and not LOS) on the tablet, and it felt like it would get laggy. That could just be from junk my kid installs though, but I don't seem to have that problem with Tesla.
I installed Tesla (Tesla-v410-5.1.1.High_Voltage.2.2.1-Release-20150902.zip from https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347807214) with open G apps but getting errors while installing apps from Play store(Some error code 963 - tried cleaning cache of playstore, play services download manager, removing google account and adding again - Nothing works). Same situation with tipsy. Any help?

That is probably what I'm running, I don't have my tablet right now. I think I flashed it with opengapps nano. I didn't have to do anything unusual to get play store to work.
Tipsy uses the same base as Tesla and Validus. Since it is persisting across multiple flashes and roms, consider formatting the internal storage if it isn't too much hassle, the TWRP wipe where you have to type "yes" to confirm. Sometimes some remnants in userdata that aren't touched by the normal system/data/cache/dalvik wipe cause problems like this and can persist the way you're describing.
Just make sure you have rom and gapps on an external SD or you have confirmed you can push files to the tablet in TWRP over usb via mtp or adb before you blank the internal storage.

That is probably what I'm running, I don't have my tablet right now. I think I flashed it with opengapps nano. I didn't have to do anything unusual to get play store to work.
Tipsy uses the same base as Tesla and Validus. I'm on Tesla, but it has the same base as Tipsy. I don't have data on the tablet so it isn't a 100% conclusive test, but it doesn't seem to work. The switch for USB tethering never turns on. Wifi turns on but never connects properly. My laptop does briefly show connection then disconnects with both USB and wifi tethering. It could be because there is no data connection on my tablet, but looking through dmesg on the laptop gives me the impression that something on the tablet isn't working right.

I'm on lineageOs 14.1 which is alright though the wifi issue is still there. However, someone may have found a solution, but I don't know how to implement it. Check posts 207, 210 and 215 in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g-...eageos-14-1-v400-lg-g-pad-7-0-t3583952/page22

Would you (or anyone who sees this) please tell me is it possible to flash TWRP if I'm on 5.0.2? Or must I downgrade first?
I'm rooted already. TBH stock is pretty solid and if the custom roms have too many bugs I might pass. But I would like to flash Viper4Android and don't think I've ever installed it without a custom recovery. Many thanks in advance.

I made the same question more or less, over a year ago here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/help-installing-cm-t3483074
You cannot flash another rom over lollipop and I've never seen twrp for android 5.0.2 for v410. I am not 100% sure because my question was a bit different, but I assume from the replies, that probably not.

Thanks. That's more or less what I thought. From what I'm hearing there are some bugs in the roms that no doubt aren't being maintained at this late stage so I think I'll stick with stock (would be nice to have a custom recovery though.)
Not that it matters (a year later) but lots of people root with Kingroot when there isn't another option and there's several ways to remove all the bits left behind and switch it to supersu.
Thanks again!
Well, I have a work around to stop wifi from disconnecting in lineage os. After that I did not know when wifi got disconnected and reconnected.
Just download E-Robot from playstore.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bartat.android.robot
And set it to settings as per screen shot.

It works! Thank you so much! It seems the LOS developers have stopped trying to fix the wifi issue but it is important. The workaround even works at restart, with some delay, but it works!
Just to clarify to newbies like me, where ssid you have to put the name of the network you want to connect. I wonder if one can add more networks, so it can connect to any saved network according to where you are. You think that's possible?

That would be great.. I shall try.. if successful, I shall post results.
I have a uk410, the US Cellular variant of the v410. I tried the CM12.1 "stable" release cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K5-v410.zip found here (archive.org/download/cmarchive_snapshots), along with Open GApps nano for 5.1 (opengapps.org/?api=5.1), and quickly got the infinite rebooting issue.
I then switched to the Telsa ROM mentioned earlier in this thread (Tesla-v410-5.1.1.High_Voltage.2.2.1-Release-20150902.zip) found at androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347807214, again with Open GApps nano for 5.1 (build open_gapps-arm-5.1-nano-20180922.zip), and have been running it with no issues for two days. My wifi is connected, and stays connected (tested two different routers), Play Store and apps have been working fine, and no crashes so far.
I'm using TWRP 3.1 (twrp-3.1.0-0-v410.img).
Thanks for mentioning Tesla, @jason2678 !
So like all of you I was looking for a rom to install on this v410 7" tablet, and it looks like I should just give up or stick with 4.4.2 stock if I want to go through the rooting process.
Basically all the development roms end with the same problems, wifi dropping, hostspot not working, no ir blaster, volume problems, bluetooth errors, and several hundred posts about lolipop memory leaks crippling the tablet because of only 1gb mem.
So, I am asking all of you, is there any real reason to root it, besides going back to stock 4.4.2?
And lastly, is the stock 4.4.2 kdz image that is floating around a test version, and if so is there an actual official kdz image somewhere that isn't a test image?
Thanks...
CrDroid by far in my opinion. Lineage based, 7.1.2.
Also, e/ os has been unofficially released. No Google anything...an entirely new Google list operating system by lineage. It's lightning fast and runs magisk perfectly. It's basically like nothing you've ever seen before and if you look under LG g pad 7.0 on Android file host, go to the second page and click on the last user who goes by the name anonymous and you'll find the ROM there. I had no idea what it was until my g pad boot it up and I saw the e logo. I pretty much **** myself in excitement
I recently upgraded the Motorola One Action LOS4M to the latest 4-7-2022 build and, after the typical LineageOS loading screen (which lingered an abnormal amount of time), it shut off on its own and was sent to the LineageOS Recovery saying the ROM was "corrupt," and to do a factory reset to possibly fix it. After trying that a few times (including a TWRP advanced wipe), I get the same result of being sent back to the recovery with the same message installing the Official ROM from LOS4M official site. Anyone else having this problem with this build, and any of the recent Official LineageOS builds (not the 'for MicroG' builds) so we can tell where the issue is? The previous build (3-21-2022) still works fine so had to downgrade to get the phone to work.
You should try the new 19.1 build and see if it works.
From reading the wiki, you should use "MindTheGapps".
If you're not looking to do that, isn't a way to use MicroG "rootless" (without flashing it)?
This could be a bug, as none of the builds are stable (nightly).
