I know that some Moto Z Droid phones have received an OTA fix for the low notification sound, but I've had nothing on my reteu unlocked Z Play and I wondered if anyone else has had it? I use my phone for work and because I need to respond quickly, I'm waving my hand over the thing so much I'm in risk of getting RSI.

Hello! I am looking for advice on trying to solve a problem that has been occurring over and over again on my Xperia Play R800a. What happens is that when I attempt to answer a call, my phone will not let me speak for at least 10 seconds after I slide to answer. It shows that the call is active and I can hear the other person, but it’s like the microphone is not turned on. It’s intermittent, but once it happens it usually keeps happening until I restart my phone. Then it will come back at random.
It happens frequently enough that I am now considering drastic measures in order to try and fix it. When I first looked into this, it appeared to be a glitch in Gingerbread from some other posts I saw. I was originally planning on waiting for the Ice Cream Sandwich firmware in hopes that it would fix it. However, now that Sony has scrapped the Xperia Play version at the last minute and we don’t know what they have planned for it, I’m not quite sure what I should do.
I’ve tried Call Delay Patch, Dewonkificator, and lowering the oom value to -17 on the Keypad app. Nothing seems to work. The phone itself is a carrier unlocked (bootloader still locked) R800a from the Google I/O conference last year. It’s currently running the Generic North American 4.0.2.A.0.42 firmware with Android 2.3.4. I have also been using Titanium Backup to update the apps that have been updated directly into the ROM. I found this necessary thanks to just how little onboard storage the Play has.
So I’m trying to figure out what the next best course of action is. Has anyone else encountered this? If so, were you able to fix it and how? Should I try flashing a different firmware? If so, what would you recommend that would still allow me full use of the Gamepad and the ability to still access all the Sony stuff like PS Pocket, PS Store, and PS Suite?
Thanks in advance!
Could this be related to the baseband version? The one I have is -56, but I hear AT&T uses -36. If so, how would I go about flashing it?
I've had the same problems on two Sony Ericsson devices now.
First one was a Xperia Neo which I used for 7 months until the delay started to happen.
After a month of trying to fix it I got fed up and sent it in to a 3rd party warranty in which they just refunded what I paid so I bought
a Xperia Arc S and right off the bat I got the same problem.
I tried everything from deleting apps, hard resets, updating/trouble shooting on Sony PC Companion replacing SIM's and I even went and bought a Google Nexus which everything works great on.
Its now been sent out to Sony for Warranty Repair.
Just wondering if this was a common occurance? When my phone is on a lower volume at work, I've noticed when I get messages the notification sound doesn't always play. The phone still vibrates and I've made sure its loud enough to hear, it just doesn't play until I restart the phone.
Anyone else getting this?
Currently everything is stock apart from using Nova launcher. (haven't had it long enough to start playing with ROMs )
ive noticed this sometimes, but i think changing it from the message/emails settings will fix the issue
Hi
I've had a problem with Sony Xperia Z, Z1 and now the Z1 compact. The alarm clock is unreliable. Not the clock itself actually, every now and then (2-3 times a month) the sound just disappears. This means the alarm clock goes off, but no sound to wake you. When I check, there is no ring sound, sms sound until a reboot.
The only times this happens is during the night, never experienced it at daytime. I've tried to google this, but it seems like I am the only one with this issue. Had it with 3 sony phones witch I guess use some of the same software from Sony..
Anyone else had this? solved it?
Never had an issue with this Phone or my Z.

My phone's started doing this recently and has risked me losing my job because of it, I downloaded a second alarm app to be reliable, apparently it's happened to my mate on his Z1 too and he said that I should do a system update and it won't happen again, however I think I'm up to date on my version, other than that I recommend doing a factory reset. Hope this helps.

+1, never had a problem with alarms and sound
Could it be some other 3rd party app interfering with volume? Do you have a media player that stays on?
Could it be "Stamina"
I have experienced this my self. I use "Alarm Clock Xtreme Free v3.6.11".
Could these issues be caused by the phone being in "Stamina" mode. This is a battery saving mode that Sony has. It turns of WiFi and other things when screen is off.
Maybe it also turns off alarms or even apps in general?
I had same problem, but it was because I wanted "my" sound for alarm or ringing...
But if you use "system" sounds, this should not happen - take the phone to repair center...
Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this or if it's just me... So on the watch it it's supposed to show you your three most recent watch faces on the left and the rest on the right. The problem is, the middle one is always stuck on "simple" which I never use. This is really annoying because it means I really only get two recent spots. Anyone else have this problem?
Sent from my XT1053 Moto X Dev Edition running Kit Kat 4.4.4
Though I have always got this issue when I am trying to select a watch face that is crashing... Simple seems to be the default watch face when any other selected one crashes...
Do check if that is the cause
Hey guys,
I just got the update to Oreo on Verizon. So far I'm not liking it. I have several missing settings that I actually cannot find, specifically Ambient Display. I can find it in search, but when I click on it, it brings me to Display settings with the Advanced tab already selected but there is no setting for Ambient Display shown. I also can't figure out if its that or the Moto Display (where you approach to wake the device) but that setting is turned off. The phone is seriously waking it self up every couple seconds to show me a clock, the date and a blue ring showing the constantly draining battery percentage. I'm also very sad about the new emoji. I miss the blobby guys. Can I downgrade? how does someone do that anymore. Rooting seems very different now than in the pre 4.1 era I was used to on my previous phone. With my Moto Z Play, I haven't bothered to root or anything as it's worked right off the bat.
Thanks guys for your help.
First, this is a Moto z play or -02 forum, where what I think you have is a Droid or -01. So I may not be able to help much! - I have 8.0 where the ambient appears whenever the phone is touched or moved in any way. It only appears for about 3 seconds - i actually doubt this will have much effect on your battery, though if your phone is in constant motion , I suppose it could. The ambient display for me is a partial circle indicating % of battery charge, with %, time and date. I see no way to modify this. I suppose a custom ROM might change things but that would not be avail for the Droid as I know of no way to root it. I suppose you could always bug Verizon... Good luck with it!!! I generally like Oreo so far, but that is a problem with version updates - things change and we're pretty much stuck with it unless we can find and flash a different ROM...
