I'm trying to get my MZP to connect to my chromebook via bluetooth so I can use the SMARTLOCK feature. This allows you to login into the chromebook without having to type-in a password if your phone is beside you (and bluetooth is turned on). When I go through the steps it says MotoZ failed to connect.
I've connected my phone to other bluetooth devices and it worked fine. I've also connected my chromebook to my old MotoX and it worked. Therefore, I know their respective bluetooth works. But they don't seem to work together.
Anybody run into this issue?
V20 won't connect to Chromebook Plus (Samsung)
I'm having a similar issue with my LG V20 connecting to my Samsung Chromebook Plus. When I try and connect I get one pairing request on my phone, but two requests on my Chromebook so I can never successfully pair my phone and use smart unlock.
I don't know if it my Chromebook or phone?

I seem to have a problem connecting my new 10.5" tab s to my Verizon note 3 via bluetooth. It shows that they are paired but when I click connect it acts like it will connect for about 3 seconds (it says connecting...) then just goes back to saying paired. The dude at the Samsung display in Best Buy claimed these 2 devices simply cannot connect through bluetooth which didn't seem right. Tonights?
What I've tried so far: obviously restarting both devices and completely unpairing them as well to no avail...

It isn't right. I have a Note 3 also but with Sprint. I don't have any problem connecting. I would assume it is not the carrier that is causing the problem. It is well known that the Samsung reps at BB know absolutely nothing about their products. I also assume you tried shutting BT off on both devices then re-activating them? Is NFC on on your note? If it is try shutting that off as the slate is not NFC capable and it may be interfering. Just some suggestions.
I have a Note 3 as well from sprint and haven't had an issue connecting via bluetooth. I'll take a look around to see if anyone else is having this issue. Hopefully you'll be able to resolve it.
I did a factory wipe on my phone thinking that may help but was unsuccessful. Those of you who are able to connect your phone and tab, can you use the Internet connection from the phone using bt on the tab?
Update number 2...I factory wiped the tablet too and still no luck. It automatically wants to connect for Internet access and if I have the tab connectrd to WiFi it says it can't connect to bluetooth for tethering if WiFi is connected. Turning off WiFi does nothing...
I have the ATT Note 3 and am able to connect to my Tab S with Bluetooth. On both devices it only says paired. The only time it said connecting is when I initially paired the two devices, once paired the "connecting" was replaced by "paired". I can't find anywhere it says connected yet I am able to send files back and forth between the two via Bluetooth. I don't use Bluetooth to tether so not sure if that is where it's supposed to say connected. Sorry if we're talking about two different things, just trying to help.

Well I feel stupid now haha. I can't connect to use Bluetooth for an Internet connection as I was attempting, but I can send and receive files to and from the tab and phone.
For some reason my device won't connect to my pixel or any other phone. It will connect to my speakers, keyboard, mouse, and pretty much everything expect phones. It tries to connect but then it just stops. Any one have any ideas? I just want to be able to Bluetooth tether it.
I have a brand new 2017 Ford Raptor with Sync 3, version 3.0. I can easily connect my Samsung Note8 to it via Android Auto and it sees it immediately, connects just fine. If I unplug that device from the two USB connections, I try to connect another Android 7.0 Nougat device that is WiFi only to it, using a OBDII WiFi hotspot attached, and it connects to the internet just fine, but will not connect to the truck via Android Auto. The device is a DOOGEE BL5000, a Chinese Android device that does not have any US LTE bands, and I wanted to use a hotspot in the car to connect other devices to it on long trips anyways, so I paid $145 for an Android phone that I would use only with WiFi.
I've connected it with Bluetooth, done all the setup, and the screen shows BL5000 detected when plugging in, but absolutely will not connect to have THAT device use the Android Auto instead of my phone. My goal is to disable AA on the Note8 and have the BL5000 dedicated to AA duty while in the truck. I have tried FIVE different USB cables, two of which were factory Samsung cables, so they aren't the cheap ones, tried unplugging, plugging in, changing which USB connection type (charging / file transfer, PTP, etc), and nothing changes. The Note8 it set to just charging, so I can't imagine the setting is that important when it connects instantly. I have done a master reset on the Sync 3, had to start all over again with connections, trying the BL5000 again first without setting up the Note8, turning the truck on and off multiple times, it just won't connect.
It was said that Huawei devices for some reason won't connect to AA, don't know why or what the logic is behind that, but am I screwed with this DOOGEE BL5000? I wanted something with at least 4GB of RAM and wiping / disabling everything else but AA, Maps, Music off of it in order for it to work solely as a processor for AA that I can remove and replace, but this is becoming a headache all in and of itself.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Hello
I'm in the UK experiencing the same problem with my new Doogee and Sync 3.
Did you get any where with this issue please
Thank you

Yes and no. The Doogee would never connect, so I was refunded the purchase on PayPal because this was all I needed the device for, the seller did not respond so I got to keep the device. I since purchased a Moto G4 unlocked and it connects perfectly, immediately, and put a SIM card in it to run directly from the device instead of through WiFi only, makes Android Auto boot time much faster this way. Hope that helps!
Thanks for your very prompt reply. Glad you managed to get a solution in the end.
I previously tried a Cubot Cheetah 2 with my car to no avail. What's interesting is that my old Samsung J5 works with AA. You'd think a phone with android 7.0 would work.
Thank you again
Richard
The problems is quite simple and quite annoying at times, well most of the times...
I can connect to generic bluetooth devices like an OBD tester, or Sony Smartwatch, or even car audio systems but when I try to connect to my iQOS device (from the device app) I get an annoying error stating: Incorrect PIN or Passkey.
Well I thought that was weird, and tried connecting the iQOS device to my Xiaomi via the standard bluetooth settings, without the companion app and the same message popped up.
So then I thought that maybe the iQOS required a special pin or passkey provided only by the companion app, but apparently the companion app can't send the code to the device? What may be the reason for this error? On my old Sony device (Android 8.0 was the last official OS on that device) I just installed the companion app and the device would connect without a problem.
Anyone know a fix for this kind of situations? Searched all the internet and problems like this were found on Fitbit devices, but they were quickly fixed by using Fitbit companion app... So I can't connect my iQOS device to my Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.
Yeah, I have similar experience with my Fitbit Smartwatch... no way to get it work properly "Incorrect PIN or Passkey."
I have Vivo nex s, Android 9. Same problem (((
I am very unhappy with connecting options with this phone (Mi 10t Pro)... It seems it doesn't have DLNA? Is that true?
So consequently, it refuses to connect to a wireless printer HP (tried EVERYTHING, every guide and tip there is), it won't connect to my LG TV, no screen sharing possible... Wifi direct also does not work. No problem with any of these devices with Samsung S7 and Mi 8, both quite older devices.
All the options are there in the software but no successful connection with any other device. Pretty bad for a brand new phone and not a very cheap one...
Did anyone have success in connecting this phone and to what device?
