Hi guys
I cant delete some files on my phone I have tried astro file manager root explorer but no help at all.
The files I cant delete is left over from my very first Alliance ROM. What should I do for this issue?
Flashed Jedi ROM to use the Samsung camera to film videos and when I went back to my daily driver ROM cm11 I see this folder in my internal storage. No file explorer will delete it successfully however the app root browser will say it has deleted successful but the file remains. Same for for when I plug it into my win7 PC. The folder contains sub folders one labeled kernel. Like I said nothing will delete this file.
Any ideas on this? Seems to not disrupt the phone but it's the fact that it will not delete that's upsetting me.

Very strange. I wasn't able to delete it using ES File exp. but was able to using Root Browser associated with this. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolbox
Could copy all folders except V4A to your PC and then try to erase the internal memory and reload if nothing else
I am on AXXionKat ROM (4.4.4), I can see some files & access it through Android default file browser, but These files are not visible when I connect to PC (Windows & Ubuntu). I tried copying some files to this folder. I can see newly copied files in both Phone & PC. I checked file permission (Read+Write for Owner, Group & Other). How can I fix this?

ROOT NEEDED
1. Download latest apk (tested and working version 9.0.2.A.0.0)
Current version "Music v9.0.2.A.0.0.apk" by Sony (previously aka Walkman app)
Google it to download or from the link provided
2. Rename the downloaded apk to "com.sonyericsson.music" and also create a folder named "com.sonyericsson.music" and put the apk inside this folder.
[OR just download the file i provided, just extract it.]
3. Use any file explorer (i used FX) to copy it to the directory [# System (Root)>system>app] & paste the folder here
4. Reboot and Enjoy

working for me! I've used ES file manager and I've also set permission for the folder and apk (for being sure )

Did'nt worked here, I put the extracted folder in the system apps, reboot and nothing... Any ideas? I set the permissions to rw-r--r-- only in the folder, not in the apk, trying again.

Didn't worked for me so i downloaded the latest version from apkmirror and pasted it in system/app without the folder and rebooted and it worked

Problem met with Android 7:
Creation of a folder with an fil manager in the HTC10, it creates well a visible folder with the device.
But connected in USB this folder appears as a file and not a folder!! With Windows10.
What is the cause this problem?
Conversely to create a folder by the PC in USB both have well a folder.
To make a backup with Titanium Backup it creates a file and not a folder! Thus not possible to open with a PC connected in USB.
Test to my rom and Leedroid it's the same problem !!!!!!
An idea on this problem?

What application did you use for creating the folder?
I just tested this using ES File Explorer, created a new folder as per usual.
Once connected to my Win10 computer, that folder is valid and treated as a folder .. no issue to report sorry.

Create with HtcFileManager ! And titanium creates one in first one backup! !!

ahhh ok I had to install HTC File Manager so obviously not included in my factory HTC ROM (unless I removed it and forgot).
But yes I have the same problem as you, create a folder with HTC FM, connect to Win10 and it shows up as a file instead of folder!!
Maybe HTC FM is abandoned and not up to date enough to work on current ROMs?

But when Titanium Bckup creates its Folder it is a file in Windows !!!!

Tested on 3 Roma, Lee, Maximus, and my Pyrana.
The same problem on 3 with Titanium! Tested also on 3 PC Win10 and Win7.
A file is create instead of a folder (On the HTC appears well a folder)
Also test of several FilesManager.
A part is OK but others in the creation of a folder, give a file on the PC
I've never had problems with folders, per sé. But when creating a folder using my computer, it takes a good few minutes for the device to respond to anything after that. Its done it on pretty much every phone I've ever had. Is an odd thing.
Copying a folder over, or creating one on the device, no problem.

It is necessary to test to install Titanium on last one Nougat and this problem is going to be there! (Without creating a folde Titanium before) similar with the Rom Leedroid or ICE, to create a file with HtcManager on the memory of the HTC also problem ...
There is strong chance that this problem is bound to Nougat.
