Hello
My friend give me HTC M9 with Android Revolution 14. I downloaded latest version of Android Revolution and flashed it via TWRP. Sadly phone restart edytowane to recovery all the time (i made wipe) so i decided to flash a latest ruu file. After that phone booted ok, but now it is demo unit.
I checked CID and it is HTC__02 (so demo unit). In bootloader is that system is modified, Unlock and S-On. I wanted to unlock it but when i enabled developer settings almost all options are grey and i am unable to check OEM unlock (option is present). Phone is European version, not Verizon.
Can you advise me how to enable OEM unlock? I tried to use code *#*#336666#*#* but it says that i need password to disable demo.

I am trying to fix my bricked HTC Desire Z and started to install stock RUU from bootloader.
The problem is, it stucks at BOOTLOADER Updating - 15 minutes is definitely too much time. I've tried other RUU - same.
I can just suspect the problem with RADIO, because I flashed other one before, but I don't really know which one is correct now.
Look at attachment.
I have an HTC 816 Desire (710C Virgin Mobile US) running Lollipop 5.0.2. I'm wondering if there is even a root method that will work for this? I've tried Towelroot, Kingroot, and Kingoroot. Nothing works sadly even tho each of them said they support 710C and 816 Desire. I assume there's different versions that make it incompatible.
Any ideas?

You're sure that'd work? I took a look at that method and it seems a bit sketchy. The programs it wants me to download are a year or so old and I saw other people who tried that method with the same phone only to find out they had bricked their phone.

All you have to do is unlock your bootloader, download the twrp.img file, and then type in terminal"fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" or whatever your twrp.img is named. Then download the supersu.zip (Google should do the trick), transfer it to sd card or usb-otg, boot into recovery and select the supersu file. Wait till it installs and reboot and your rooted. I have the Virgin Mobile model too and I've rooted mine this way several times flawlessly.

Hi guys,
So I get my second HTC One M9.
I bought my two phones from Germany and I'm from Portugal.
My first one was an European version and I was able to change Recovery and ROM with S-ON.
My second one was a little different, it comes with CID "O2___102" (branding O2 from Germany) and because I have a higher RUU version, now HTC blocks download mode to prevent custom developments... so I'm not able to install a new Recovery and consequently a new ROM.
So I need to do S-OFF, my main concern is...
1) Everything works, but Mobile Data is not working (I select this option but no icon appears in notification bar and no Internet at all)... Is this related to this RUU ("O2___102") or what can I do to make it work?
2) Will I get Mobile Data working with other RUU (I want European RUU)?
Thank you in advance!
You only have to enable OEM Unlock in Developer Options. HTC doesn't block anything. Only a new securitys feature has been added which demands that extra step during the unlock. Thant means you don't need S-OFF (unless you want to get rid of the branded firmware).
Are you sure that you set up your APN correctly? I don't think that the O2 firmware is the reason for your lack of mobile internet.
Oh and just to clarify some terms: You're talking about firmware and firmware versions. A RUU is an *.exe or a*.zip file which restores the stock rom and reflashes the corresponding firmware.
Hi @Flippy498,
I have enable that option as well.
I think HTC unables to downgrade firmware since version 2.10 and I need it to install the recovery I want. Otherwise it stay stuck in "download mode" with 100% installed but unable to reboot (If I reboot manually no Recovery is installed).
I didn't try to correct the APN because every phones always recognize and do that automatically for me... I need to try that.
EDIT: Fixed!! Tried VPN now working and I was able to install new Recovery, now I'm installing a new ROM. Thanks!

I don't understand what you're trying to do. Downgrades have never been possible with S-ON*. You simply need to unlock the bootloader via HTCdev and afterwards you need to flash TWRP 2.8.7.1-CBTB-B1. Since I had to flash TWRP on version 2.10.206.2 for being able to create a TWRP backup for my collection I know that it is possible.
* Well, except for the downrade from 1.32.<EnterYourSKUhere>.15 to the firmware version the phone was originally sold with (for the WWE SKU it was 1.32.401.8).
Edit: Looks like you edited your last post while I was typing this one. I'm glad that you reached your goal but I still don't understand what you tried to do...

Pretty sure rumrunner only works on phones up til KitKat, maybe even earlier software than that.... Once lollipop dropped for the Verizon variant, the ONLY HOPE for S-off / unlocked is Sunshine, if I remember correctly, htc patched rumrunner, Firewater , etc.. The ONly temp root method I've heard works (n it doesnt all the time, but HAS worked on lollipop & up for some) is Kingroot, and if u get lucky enough that Kingroot actually DOES successfully temp root the device, IMMEDIATELY RUN THE SUNSHINE APP (it costs $25 but it tests ur device 1st to make sure it'll work, and won't ask u for payment until its 100% sure it'll work on your device), and from there , sunshine will automatically at the click of a button S-off your device AND unlock the bootloader.

I ran into a bootloop while trying to install Lineage OS 14.1 on my newly bough (but refurbished) HTC One M9 AT&T running Lollipop. I was able to resolve the issue by upgrading to Marshmallow before trying to install Lineage OS 14.1. In case anyone else runs into the same issue, I'm going to keep a profile of my phone and the steps I took before finally getting Lineage OS 14.1 to boot.
The following is a profile of my phone when it ran into the bootloop issue:
HTC One M9 ATT GSM (US)
Bought State: Refurbished, SIM Unlocked, Unrooted
Enabled Dev Mode, USB Debugging & OEM Unlock.
Unlocked Bootloader, via HTC Dev & Fastboot.
Flashed TWRP 3.0.0.0 Recovery via Fastboot
htc_himaulatt PVT S-ON
LK-1.0.0.0000
RADIO-01.01_U11440601_72.02.50602A_F
OpenDSP-v29.2.6-00492-M8994_0702
OS-2.11.502.18
CID: CWS__001
MID: OPJA11000
After my phone fell into a bootloop, the following are the steps I took:
(1) Boot into Download Mode, Lock the Bootloader & Run RUU_HIMA_UL_L51_SENSE70_ATT_MR_Cingular_US_2.11.502.18.exe to restore to a Stock Lollipop
(2) Re-setup the phone, Enable Developer Options, Check OEM Unlock & USB Debugging.
(3) Upgrade to a Stock Marshmallow using RUU_HIMA_UL_M60_SENSE70_ATT_MR_Cingular_US_3.38.502.17.exe.
(4) Re-setup the phone, Enable Developer Options, Check OEM Unlock & USB Debugging.
(5) Boot into Download Mode and Unlock the Phone using HTCDev.
(6) Boot into Download Mode and Flash TWRP 3.0.2.
(7) Boot into Recovery Mode. At this point, my phone froze so I had to do hard reset, but I eventually was able to get into TWRP. Wipe Cache, System & Data.
(8) Install Lineage OS 14.1, but corrected for Error 7 as indicated in Method 1 on the Lineage website, followed by installing GApps (arm64), followed by addonsu (arm64).
(9) Re-Setup the phone, Enable Developer Options, Enable Root for Apps and ADB.
Two things that I noticed:
You're using an outdated TWRP version. This can cause errors while flashing recent roms, as well.
Relocking or locking the bootloader is not needed for being able to flash a RUU on this phone.
