Oxygen seems to only allow one or the other, but I want to try and turn on both and then map the hardware buttons for different actions using something like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton
I'm still running OOS 3.2.2 at the moment, but I am rooted with Xposed (I tried to use gravitybox to use on screen and hardware buttons together, but it didn't work out)

hello,
is possible to wake up screen without power button?
for example with home button?
(something like the Desire trackpad ball)
Bricked kernel can do swipe to wake (swipe your finger from left to right on the capacitive buttons) to unlock screen, but last time I tried it, it had problems waking up from deep sleep.
hmm this trick is complikated
is stock rom impossible, it is possible in custom rom?
i use an app called ultimate on off from the play store. can be a bit quirky, but saves stressing my power button.

U have to use custom rom and installed the brick kernel...
There are some apps on the market that use the proximity sensor to unlock, but they make the proximity sensor work all the time. I used one such app for few days but uninstalled it fearing that it might burn out the proximity sensor (IR LED).
I can't be the only one who accidentally hits those buttons when using the tab in portrait mode. Samsung going with physical buttons is a direction I am not happy with. Was also why I didn't want the S4.
Anyway, sure would be great if someone came up with a way to disable those preferably selectively. Perhaps an xPosed modules.

I don't no how to disable only in portiat without root. But there is a way to disable soft keys
Settings /Device /Accessibility
Scroll to very bottom
Enable interaction control
Use volume down and home at same time to enable
Uncheck all checkboxes
Now soft keys (Navigation buttons) and home are disabled.
Usefully when watching a movie and holding with your hand on softkeys.
(Have to disable multi window to enable this feature.
If helped, thanks would be appreciated.
Will check it out. thanks
I got an Galaxy A5 2017, and it seems like a great device so far. However, I am confused by the back and task switch buttons being switched as compared to my Z1C I used before. This is compounded by the backlight of these buttons being off most of the time - so you have to use them blindly - activating only (very briefly) when pressing/tapping them. Is there a way to have the capacitive buttons' backlight switch on when the screen is unlocked?
Cheers!
There are some apps that can do this. I use "Button Light and Touch" to keep the lights off, but it can also keep them on.
search in google play : galaxy button lights 2 , use and be happy!
If you are confused you can use Buttons remapper from Play store to switch the back and recents.
Tried this one first, set for "always on" and like the effect so far. Thanks to all.
I have installed lewa os on my nokia x. It is running fine but i want to use physical back button instead of on screen soft keys and free screen space covered by soft keys. I have disabled the onscreen button but i can't remap long press of back button to home and double tap to recent apps. I tried some apps available on playstore and xedge xposed module but nothing seems to be working.
Hi,
i have flashed LIneageOS 16 on my new oneplus 5t, but the middle gardware buttons isn't working. The other buttons are working. Now i have three touch buttons on the button of the screen, the middle is for "home". But they are useless, i can have the same functions with the hardware buttons without wasting space on my touchscreen. I think this is a problem with android pie, i read something about that somewhere. There are so settings to enable hardware buttons or change the function of the middle buttons. Also remapping the button with third party apps don't work, they can't find the button.
Is there something that i can do? Before i had the Oneplus 3 with LineageOS 15. The device has nearly the same design, the middle hardware button worked without problems.
