Hi, I think that uninstaller apps delete just base.apk and not dependencies like lib, in my case I navigated first with a root file explorer to /system/priv app and deleted folder "velvet" but from time to time phone gives me notification error "launcher3 has stoppedĀ· and then navigate to root file called /data and deleted complete folder called "com.googlesearch..... or something like this, reboot recovery, wiped cache and dalvik cache and reboot normally

Sorry, I didn't complete the route of the file for second step, is /data/app/com.googlequicksearch...or something seemed. That is not a system app, for this reason is placed in the same folder of user apps at time to flash rom.

[Q] Can't download Handcent SMS or XDA Forums app

I was told I can download handcent sms to fix a timestamp issue im having (because it automatically displays texts in the order they're received instead of using timestamps). However, I had the program and deleted it once before, but after reading up on it I still have a file somewhere on my phone called com.handcent.newsms, and having that somewhere on there is preventing me from installing handcent. I checked in titanium backup and its one of the files with a line through it (aka-its been deleted supposedly), and my phone has been searching my files using ES File Explorer since about 7 hours ago with 0 progress. Any ideas on where this file might be?
Same problem with the XDA Forums app. Had it, deleted it, but after searching Titanium Backup theres still a file being displayed called com.quoord.tapatalkxda.activity and i'm assuming thats the reason I can download but not install the app. And idea where to find this one?
back everything up, boot into recovery and wipe data/cache. then reinstall everything
ive wiped several times when installing new roms (before i knew i even had this issue).
are you restoring the same rom after wiping? if you wipe then install a new rom there should be nothing leftover to give you issues
nope, ive installed a new one every time (to be more specific- miui, cm6, evozone.pure, evozone.riptide). and ive tried searching for the file on my file explorer and it just stays at 0% (on hour 8 now). It shows the files (the handcent one and the xda one) at the very bottom of Titanium Backup with a line through it.
when you touch that line does it not give you the option to delete it? if it is just a line that means that you have a backup for an app that is not currently installed
nope, and it says that theres no backup for it. it has the yellow sign with an exclamation mark in it next to it, which after i looked means theres "nothing"? this is doing a fantastic job of irritating the piss out of me.
in titanium backup, hit menu then clean dalvik, then reload app list, if still there then with a file explorer go into the titaniumbackup folder and delete the files associated with those entries
cleaned dalvik, still there. and thats the problem, i cant find any files associated with them.

Have you ever copied your SD card to your PC? If so - you can go into the TitaniumBackup folder on your SD from previous manual backups and just reinstal the apk from there... I do that all the time. When I flash a ROM, First I make a NAND backup of said ROM, restore all apps and info (Texts,Contacts,Emails etc) then I do a TB back up and a MyBackUpPro Backup and then I copy all the files from my SD (which will contain all the backups you just made)to safely keep all the back ups you just made safe on your PC...If you dont alredy do that kind of thing, maybe its a good idea to start for these types of problems
hope that helps, if not - I do have the Apks for both apps your looking for - I can email them to you if you want
make a backup of your sd card on your computer, then format it and put only a rom .zip file, wipe everything multiple times, install the rom from sd card
check if handcent or xda will install, if yes, replace the files on your sdcard that you copied before format.
if no you have successfully gotten somebody else as frustrated with your phone as you are
Worked, thanks a ton for the help

This is a common error that occurs with the Play Store sometimes after flashing ROMs without wiping data, or with an incomplete un-installation (apk corruption, etc.)
Simple to fix:
(I'm assuming you're rooted, chances are you are if you get this error)
- YOU'LL LOSE YOUR DATA FOR THAT APP (You would have done anyway, if it was uninstalled properly) -
1.) Using a root file manager, go to /data/data
2.) Find the package name of the app you're wanting to install
(Don't know the package name? Find the app you're wanting to install on the Play Store online and it's in the URL)
3.) Delete that folder. All of it.
4.) Try to install your app again, it should work now
5.) If you like, hit the thanks button
Already done that mate.. but still get the error with titanoum, data/data is empty now

[Q] "Unfortunately, Mobile data has stopped" Error. How to fix it?

Hi all,
I have the mentioned error on Nexus 7 LTE version, Stock android(AOSP), rooted. The error pops up every 2 seconds. Here is what I have done so far:
- Clear Contacts
- Clear Contacts storage
- Clear Mobile Data
- Clear Google contacts Sync
- Disable Mobile data from the settings menu
- Rebooted the device several times
Because I was getting the error every 2 secs, it was a bit annoying to do all the above commands in 2 secs intervals. Anyway, non of them solve the issue and finally I rebooted the device with no SIM card and obviously the error is gone.
Could you please help me to fix the error while the SimCard is in the SIM slot? I need to have the Mobile data ability.
Best regards,
Shobeir
Update: I kept getting the error right after rebooting the device after some time (more than 3 days) and I installed a couple of apps in the meanwhile. But there wasn't any error until the device was rebooted.

Are you using any startup managers that might have disabled a module from starting automatically?
If you haven't, with you having done all the other things, I'd suggest your next step is to reflash the stock ROM (first wipe cache, system and userdata to be sure). Test things out without installing any apps.

I haven't use any startup manager. Recently I installed the Android device manager and Battery Doctor. I uninstalled them based on your suggestion as they may be associated with the mobile data. I am getting same error..
Do you have any idea why this error is being generated?

No idea. It's hard to say if Battery Doctor hibernated something and left things mucked up, even if you uninstalled it. At this point I'd look to making backups and reflashing your ROM. You'll save more time than investigating what might have happened.

Thank you for the reply.
Here is what I have done (It may help others):
1. Using Titanuim backup to backup my device and generated an update.zip so I was able to flash the update.zip from CWMR to restore the apps faster that ever
2. Using ADB to transfer ROM files to N7 in order to install it in sideload mode
3. Install the ROM (CM11)
4. Restore apps. It was awesome restoring!
But I wasn't able to install (flash) the image factory from Google. The file comes in ".tgz" format and inside the compressed file, there is ".zip" file, but the ".zip" will be aborted in the installation process!! I have downloaded the ".tgz" file twice to make sure it wasn't because of a broken download file.
Any idea how to install RAZORG KOT49H on Nesux 7 with CWMR?
Cheers,
Shobeir

Update: I have found this post useful and it is the solution I was looking for.
I gather you extracted twice, using something like 7-Zip or WinRAR? Inside there's image-razor-kot49h.zip, and another file flash-all.bat to flash it.
If you prefer, you could extract the zip into its individual .img files, then do things like "fastboot flash system system.img" to restore each one. It's much easier to use flash-all.bat, though.

what option deletes my android folder in TWRP recovery?

hey guys its been kinda long since i last flashed but i was changing my rom to magio and as a usual procedure i selected dalvik cache,cache,system,android_secure,and data to wipe...after the wipe installed rom and fired up my phone...then was restoring a game..after i restored,to my horror i saw that my "Android" folder(which keeps obb and data) was completely wiped
i have no idea how that happened as i never selected sd_card wipe
so does the data wipe option also delete the Android folder?
i remember clearly that in the old days i did select data wipe/factory reset in recovery but it didn't remove my Android folder
Using latest TWRP 2.6.3.0 btw

wait really????so every time i flash a new rom i will have to copy all the 11 gb data and obb of my apps back to my phone????lol
but thats sounds kinda off as i never had to do it before
You can backup for apps with Titanium Backup! Music and pictures will stay on phone..Cause when you are flashing new roms apps will stop working in almost every case..,
My obb files were NEVER deleted after wiping system from recovery..

[solved] Andriod upgrading everytime when restarts

Today im Updated 4.3 JB in my Xperia M Dual using SUS...
update was completed successfully...
but everytime when i switch on my mobile it showing,
Andriod is upgrading...
Starting Applications...
What is this?? this is really happen in all mobile or is this any error??
if it is a problem then, how to fix this problem...
Help me experts.....
Try resetting it with SUS and see if it works.
IIRC, this means android is making new dalvik cache for the apps or the one it has on the phone is old version.
This could indicate problem at \cache\
Try a file explorer. post screenshot of what you see.

Bro, there is no folder like /cache in my internal and external card...
Pls tell me, the correct path, i will show you immediately...
But, remember one thing my mobile is a rooted one before doing 4.3 update.. Is that the reason for this problem???
Give ans bro..
Try resetting your dalvik-cache... Use a file explorer with root access or adb shell and delete the folder dalvik-cache found inside /data (or rm -r -f /data/dalvik-cache from adb shell). Right after that you should reboot your phone (after deleting that folder all apps will start FCing, it's ok). In the next reboot the "Android is upgrading" screen will show and will take some time since it'll regenerate the cache. This should fix your problem.
If even after resetting dalvik-cache the same thing keep occurring, then inside /system/app you may have an .odex file for an .apk that contains classes.dex inside (e.g. you have an .odex for an APK that already is deodexed). It's common to occur when using apps like Lucky Patcher to apply patches or apps like Titanium Backup that allow integrating dalvik cache of apps inside system partition...

If you updated without wiping data and cache it's very likely to be the cause of this problem, while you had root access one of those apps may have changed something in dalvik-cache and now that you don't have root access anymore Android keeps trying to "optimize" that app every time the phone boots...
Problem fixed!!!!!
I uninstall some apps which needs root acces and successfully deleted data/cache folder (Which is in hidden state earlier).
Now the Android Upgrading msg not coming..
Thanks Experts!!! You are really Great!!!
Specially thank to theperson333 and mbc07
