fixing calls after reinstall - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I have played for first time with 'putting new ROM' to my Ace 2 GT-I8160. I installed multiple of them, played around, and I got into a problem that I can't make calls or send/receive SMS, everything else works.
Currently I am at:
LineageOS 13.0_full build v11.0 13.0-20161231-UNOFFICIAL-codina SergeyL
Build: cm_codina-userdebug 6.0.1 MOB31K 75ca1d3865 test-keys
Core 3.0.101-Chrono 2016/12/31
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow MOB31K Release 74
Baseband: I8160XXLH3
I have received two times a SMS. So it is not dead. Wifi and everything works. I have flushed all the caches I found...
My question - how can I diagnose what is wrong with the com.android.phone or whichever process that is responsible for this?

[Q] Help Please :-)

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to submit a post about changing my rom but it keeps saying I can't add outside links although the post does not have any links?
Any ideas?!
Post:
Hi Everyone,
OK first of all I am new to all of this but I have a Desire HD...
Basically the phone is very laggy and a friend has told me to look at installing a new rom as that is the way forward...
So here I am, I have had a good luck around the forum but there seems to be so many different guides...
I am probably going to look at installing:
[ROM] Android Revolution HD 4.0, 3.1 Gingerbread & HTC Sense 2.1 Android 2.3.2 - posted my mike1986...now my first question, is this stable and are there any problems with it?
My desire is:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Kernal Version: 2.6.32.21-gf3f553d
[email protected] #1
Thu Oct 28 13:24:11 CST 2010
Build Number: 1.39.161.1 CL278886 release-keys
Software Number: 1.39.161.1
Browser Version: WebKit 3.1
Now is there any major impact at changing the rom?!
Also is there anyway in which I can backup my text messages (most important) and also the installed apps and restore these once the process has been completed.
Thanks in advance!
Johnathon
hi.
Flashing a custom rom is a straight forward thing.
Here is the guide where you need to understand.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964996&highlight=guide
But before you flash, also check out your rom-to-flash thread on pre-requisite too.
There are lots of rom out there, if you like stable release, in my opinion, go for Android Revolution HD 3.2, or LeeDroid, or Core HD which run on Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Major impact : smoother , faster, customizable, etc .. (tried it !)
To backup :
1. SMS backup - install from market. it will back up all sms and send to your gmail.
2. Titanium backup - to backup apps and data (saved games, and everything). after flash new rom, you need to install back all your apps. restore from titanium backup is the easiest part.
However, I would recommend only restoring selective apps. That too "Data Only" option.
Found out the hard way that a full restore can have some adverse effect (For me heavy battery drain).
Why start two new threads with the exact same post?
Thanks for the replies guy's however I am still a little confused...just want to clear one thing up if you don't mind.
When I go to the guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964996&highlight=guide
Do I do it in this order:
1. Complete the works.
2. Flash the recommended radio.
3. Flash my rom - with which instructions, the one in the post above or the ones attached to the rom? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984045
4. Job complete, big sigh of relief?!
Also as I am looking to upgrade to gingerbread, the rom above looks to be stable from what I have read, will I then be able to easily change the rom in the future to either newer or older versions of android os?!
I know people go on about the radio s and eng-s I think it is and saying they need to be turned off but after a certain version they aren't...will the custom rom's keep them turned off?!
Thanks for all of your help.

Does Google Talk experimental Video/Voice chat work for you?

Hello
I can't for the life of me understand why it doesn't work as it did on CyanogenMod 7.0.1. Since then I installed the stock firmware from T-Mobile UK, then reinstalled a CM7 nighty up until #256. Between reverting back to stock and the latest nightly I had not chose to install the experimental Google Talk app when using ROM Manager to download/update ROMs. Then I decided to try RemPuzzleRom and also Google Talk with Video but it would not work.
By not working I mean, initiating a video call will make the screen go black - I believe it is supposed to show an image feed from the camera at this point. After about a minute, it goes back to the conversation or chat list, depending on how it was initiated.
When performing an audio call, it displays it is calling the user but nothing happens on either end. The user does not receive a notification and no internet activity seems to be present when initiating the call. When a call is made from the user to me, data arrow lights light up indicating a data was sent/received.
The user(s) I called were able to receive/send video calls as we tested them separately.
I turned my phone into a wifi hotspot, connected my netbook to the hotspot and went on GMail website and initiated and received audio and video calls successfully indicating it is not a network related.
I went through these forums and saw posts referencing apps on the market that contain modified versions of Google Talk - I installed these but it did not remedy the issue. In these forum posts, some users also attached files which I tried with no avail.
For your reference, I wiped cache before attempting to install a different version of said files. If installing over did not work, I manually removed them and then installed in recovery mode.
It does not work over network data or wifi but on my Galaxy S2 they do (same wifi, same mobile operator and same tariff). The version I have installed is the one ROM Manager prompted me with. I've also tried the downloads from goo-inside.me/gapps gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip and gapps-gb-20110828-newtalk-signed.zip.
I understand it is emphasised as `experimental` but I'd assume it's available because to some degree it has worked for someone. Does it work for you? Can you help me diagnose the problem? Are there any log files I could look at?
I'd appreciated any response - thank you kindly.

Issues with Custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos (GT-B5512)

Before I start posting, I would like to make the following points very clear:
[*]I'm a NOOB when it comes to complex programming knowledge.
[*]In no way, I'm trying to raise a finger on the developers of the ROMs and Kernels.
[*]Here I'm stating only the bugs I came across when I tested the ROMs.
The purpose of posting it here is Two-fold:
So that developers can notice it and provide a quick and effective solution.
It can act as a guide for other noobs who can decide which custom ROM to install.
NOTE: THE TEST DEVICE USED IS: SAMSUNG GALAXY Y PRO DUOS (INDIAN FIRMWARE: B5512DDXWLG1, BASEBAND: B5512DDLG1) RUNNING ON STOCK KERNEL AS WELL AS ON COMPACT KERNEL BY @Deadly.
This particular Model has 2 suggested custom ROM:
Hatyon ROM by @arbayong: The link for the thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1915354
Carbom ROM by @acermedo: The link for the thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471144
The details and the issues have been discussed in the following posts.
Hatyon ROM Issues with B5512 (Baseband: B5512DDLG1)
ISSUES WITH HATYON ROM 1.0 by @arbayong / 1.1
Before we proceed with discussing the issues with Hatyon ROM by @arbayong, lets first get familiar with the ROM:
Here is the link for the Thread of the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1915354
Test Device Details:
Model: Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos (GT-B5512)
Baseband: B5512DDLG1
Kernel: [email protected] #8/ Stock Kernel (2.6.35.7 [email protected] #1)
Though, It has not been long since I have started testing the Custom ROM, The initial stages have led to the following bug:
Unable to update Google Play Services and other Google apps. Google Play Services is necessary for the recent versions of many Google apps like Hangout, Gmail, YouTube etc. On updating Google Play Services via Play Store, it shows the error message "Package File is Invalid. Please uninstall the app and try again." On uninstalling the app using Link2sd and reinstalling it, it shows the error "Google Play Services is not supported by the current ROM in your device. Kindly contact the manufacturer for assistance." Please provide an immediate and detailed solution to this problem as the age-old versions of Gmail, Gtalk, YouTube is simply not tolerable.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth do not work simultaneously. If Wi-Fi is switched on, Bluetooth wont work until Wi-Fi is switched off and phone is restarted. Similarly if Bluetooth is switched on, Wi-Fi wont work till Bluetooth is switched off and phone is restarted.

I could not spend much time with this ROM either, however, the initial stages revealed a couple of errors:
Wifi and Bluetooth do not work simultaneously. If Wi-Fi is on, Bluetooth wont switch on till Wi-Fi is switched off and phone is restarted. Similarly, Wi-Fi wont switch on till Bluetooth is switched off and phone is restarted.
Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and some other sensors do not function normally (or rather do not function at all).
Version 1.4 bricks the phone.
Please provide an immediate solution to the above issues.

i stopped using hatyonRom about 18 months ago and so do not have the phone to investigate the issues raised. but seeing as wifi and bluetooh cannot be used concurrently in both custom roms, i postulate that it might be an issue with gb and not necessarily the custom roms. you didn't also tell us if both wifi and bluetooth work normally on stock rom.
i am pretty sure you misquoted the baseband for hatyonrom. check my signature to be sure.
on the issue of updates, those issues seemed not to exist at the time of development so i recommend you create a patch for it yourself. simply go to stock rom. update all the apps you need new versions for, make a nandroid backup and from the backup copy the updated ups and adb push them or make a flashable zip for the rom. you can share with others. lol
dsixda kitchen could be used to make the patch.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Zenfone ZE551ML CM13 "Unfortunately, Phone has stopped"

Hello everyone. I have tried running several different nightly builds of CM 13, but my problem persists. When I press the phone app, it opens and works fine. When I actually make a call, it says, "Unfortunately, Phone has stopped." The call resumes, but the phone app isn't open. I can only choose to hang up using the notification that says I'm in a call. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I'm new here.
Same problem here
Theres a new unofficial build (.414) that has been posted on the forum pages....for a quick fix download it(unless you want to wait a while for an official release)
Same problem here!
I was on 20160331 (right before the April fool version)...didn't do upgrade for quite a few days and did that two days ago (20160411). Failed with same message "Unfortunately, Phone has stopped." Since then tried a couple newer nightlies...didn't work. Revert back to 20160331 and it's now happy. So the bug has been identified and will eventually be incorporated into nightlies?
same problem here since i got the last update from cynogenn
This is a known issue and the fix "should" be merged into the next nightly.
Here is an unofficial nightly from the devs:

No Sound on Phone Calls with Audax Rom

Hello, I have an SM-G928T rooted with Audax Rom v8.0 - BPF1 . Through T-Mobile
I have a 3.10.101_Stock_Modified_Kernel installed as well.
I have looked for the answer to my question through the forums but I have been unable to find it.
Everything works except I have no sound on my phone calls. I have sound if I call through the Facebook Messenger app; I can make and receive calls, but there is no sound when the phone picks up.
Is there a specific patch or something I need to do to fix this issue?
I apologize if I haven't left enough details, please let me know if I left anything out. I am not very savvy in all this, and it took me a while to get the Audax installed in the first place.
any help is greatly appreciated!
EDIT: Tried adding screenshots with more info but I can't figure out how to just upload from my computer.
