So, typos1 said I could get the kernel sources for the Eonon GA1312 if I asked in here. So I am doing just that.
I need it so I can recompile it with the full bluetooth stack. So I can access my Garmin HUD+.

As I ve said, theres no such thing as a "GA1312" - you have a Klyde MTCB/C unit, therefore you require the kernel sources for a Klyde unit, there are 4 types of MTCB/C unit - RK3066 high res, screen, RK3066 low res, RK3188 high res and RK3188 low res, it doesnt matter what your unit looks like on the outside or what seller you got it from. So using the seller's made up number when asking for help will get you few responses. And further to that, these units are made by at least 10 factories with only very very minor differences to some hardware and some software, to the extent that ROMs are interchangeable and even though the MCU firmware is not the same, the differences in MCU firmware are minimal. To all intents and purposes all versions from all manufacturers are virtually identical. Please read the wiki in my signature so you fully understand all about your head unit. To be certain what unit type you have please look in settings/about device.
You ll get more help if you simply rename your thread to "Kernel sources needed", because youre in the MTCB section, people will know youre talking about MTCB/C head unit kernel sources.
As far as I know the source has not been released, but I could be wrong there.
I take it youre intending on using a BT dongle ? Because you wont be able to do anything with the BT card on the unit which is entirely separate form Android.

You pestered me for one full page about asking for help (I never did). So now I created this post, just to show you - there is no way to fix this problem. The problem is unfixable.
I've used linux since 1998, I started compiling kernels in 1999. I started compiling my own kernels on my android-phones once I started using them (xperia mini pro).
I know there is no fix for my problem.
Now, stop pestering me and don't make assumptions. If I need help - I will make a clear and obvious cry for it. If I don't, then don't come running telling me to ask for help.
Now, kindly bug off.

I ve never "pestered" you, I simply tried to explain several times how things are with these units and yet youve completely ignored me and clearly STILL dont understand as can be seen by the use of "GA1312" in your thread title.
A fix may be possible if you can get a BT dongle working, I really cant remember whether someone has tried in the 3 years that these units have been out.
Youve already made a " a clear and obvious cry for" help by opening this thread, weeks after we last interacted, but it seems youre not really interested in getting help at all and your "clear and obvious cry for help" is actually crying wolf. Please stop wasting my time and your own.
Youve also broken forum rules by being abusive.

I cant see that anywhere in previous post where @typos1 suggests as such. I can see you stating problems with your "Eonon GA1312" which is correctly an MTCB unit; have you thought about listing the issues so others may help?
Take this bickering to private message please. This has no place in public forum.

Anyone having time issues with there devices? Today found that my phone was 10 min fast, had to revert in settings on date and time, I have gingersense B3 2.3.3.
I read some where that this is going on over the pond also, whats your thoughts??
It has nothing to do with gingersense it happened to my wife's non rooted stock incredible.
yeah the other day mine was running 7 minutes too fast. A reset will fix it but it was odd I am running the leaked gingerbread
Its actually a world-wide issue. From the US to the UK.
I just turned off my automatic clock sync and switched to manual until we figure out whats happening.
I just went to settings (clock) and switched to manual then back to automatic and it fixed itself.

First thought is that the ten post threshold may be too low because someone posted something so utterly off topic in the dev forum.
The reason why people post questions in the DEV section is because if the question is relevant to developing ie HOW TO DO THIS.. OR THAT OR WHAT KERNEL RUNS BEST.. etc who better to ask than the developers. Why would someone go post a technical question about something in a generic question and answer section when no one with any knowledge will answer the question. Basically you people who have nothing better to do than NAZI a forum need to go put a D*&K in your mouth. Next time my car breaks down Ill go take it my drycleaners!

The clown who posted the picture proves my point. Sure devs can read the q @ a - How many really do - My drycleaner can also look at my car and try to fix it - Doesnt mean he is the person I want working on my car. Point being either answer the question with an inteligent answer or dont bother what is the point of being a forum nazi.

We are blessed to have this place to learn about our devices and have access to the work of all of the great developers. The least we can do is fallow the rules and respect the developers. Maybe some of us haven't read the rules, here's a good post from the last moderator of our forum on why we keep questions out of the development section and here's the general forum rules which plainly states that we should watch our language and respect other members. Thanks everyone for contributing to such an amazing community
Hi there,
I apologise if this has been asked before (if it has can someone please redirect me to the relevent request?) but this is something I think would be nice to have for the XDA website if such a thing were possible to implement: searching for keywords within just one thread. Think about all the threads we have in here for numerous custom ROMs, themes, kernels etc where there are lots of people browsing and posting in said threads. As you probably know they can fill up quite quickly the more popular they get, which can make things harder for people who want to know whether a particular issue they have with a custom component (e.g. WiFi issues with a custom ROM, missing icons in a theme etc) is only apparent in their scenario or whether it's a bug of sorts which a number of people are experiencing. This I would argue is made harder still by the new 'iron fist' policy I've read about on this forum, which I understand is in place to basically keep the forum clean from rude/offensive posts, so-called 'trolling', and possibly repeat posts for things that have been posted about already (is this bit right?). I know that you can narrow down your search to only select sub-forums but even then you might also get similar posts from other threads within that sub-forum(s) which might not be in the thread you're looking for (e.g. it might be in a thread for a completely different ROM).
I can understand if something like this will be too complicated to implement from the forum admins' perspective but I thought I'd put it out there in case anyone didn't think of it before.
Thanks for reading .

OK,i know,tks.
I'm looking for a 7" unit with a Rockchip px5 or px6, or the next best thing that has a slim profile like this, maybe 50mm or 60mm deep at most. What is my best option with this kind of size constraint? Do I have to roll the dice on some no-name ebay or aliexpress unit and hope the specs are real or is there a safer bet?
I didn't see anything from Dasaita or Joying that fit, but there's so many chipsets it's hard to know what is junk and what isn't.

I'm not sure there are any MCTD units with a slim profile.
the best units i'm finding are something like this wondefoo:
aliexpress.com/item/4000287722942.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.2.726e6e78AACPEe
Don't know what MCU they are, but they're not MCTD if they're not 4gb/64gb right?

Yes, that was my takeaway as well, just confirming. Are there any MTCx units with a similar form factor to the units above? I've been digging through aliexpress/ebay/etc for hours and haven't found anything.
Other than joying, wondefoo, & dasaita, what are some reputable brands I can look for that will actually be the specs they advertise when I run CPU-Z?
Trying to figure out what the best unit I can get is with the tight space requirements. So far that wondefoo is the only one I've found by a "name" brand.
Appreciate any help.

Are you saying if I order the wondefoo unit directly from wondefoo it may not be the specs they claim?
It was my understanding that when you order from wondefoo, dasaita, joying, etc you at least get what they advertised. A lot of the ebay/aliexpress "no name" units are showing lower specs/api numbers when you use cpu-z. Is this an incorrect assumption?

Anything goes with these "resellers". There may be multiple "wonderfoo" resellers, which is irrelevant; what you want to know is the manufacturer of the unit, which you can only find from the MCU type. Read the wiki mate.
I'll start by saying I'm sorry if I sound like I'm pushing Ownice but that's what I have experience with. Their C800 high model is MTCE and low profile like the picture. You can buy it off Aliexpress from several sellers but I would suggest you look for the Ownice Official store (and not one of the ones from Russia or Spain...). On Aliexpress it's listed as the K3 I would give you a link but they have been requiring a login to show anything for a while now so it's no use. The K3 high is a PX5 and the pro is now PX6. Check this thread for anything related to it.
I don't know of any specific models and I have no experience with them but you could also check with Seicane.

You are a life saver. I've been drowning in forum archives, wikis, aliexpress listings... I didn't even think you could get the better chipsets in that form factor. Somehow I never came across Ownice. I will start chasing down some of this info, this is a great lead. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
I purchased this unit and it will arrive tomorrow. I am familiar with android phone roms and custom recoveries but the head unit aspect seems a little different in a lot of regards.
Is this a decent unit for putting a custom rom on to enable viper4android, root apps, etc?

I got it installed and am checking out the MCU version and it says it is an MTCH. I haven't read anything about the H version, only MTCB and D. I know on Android phones the version numbers can cause a brick if they aren't for the same model. Is it the same in this case? Probably would help if I knew what an MCU was to begin with, or what MTCB, D, H, E, and H were even referring to....

MCU-MTCH has started to be used on the new boards, I've looked at 4pda and MTCH-HT there is no newer or older update yet. You probably have current. I do not recommend using an update other than MTCH-HT as you write you could get a brick. Try to write to the seller, maybe he will give you an update. And don't forget to share it with us. Why do you want to update the MCU, something is working wrong? If everything works for you, don't do the updates, usually no miracles will happen.

No I'm not actually interested in updating the MCU, I'm trying to figure out what custom rom would be compatible with my unit. On a typical android device if something is of a different version than what the device supports for that version of Android than you can get bricks, boot loops, or specific things that will no longer work, such as your radio unit for phones, Bluetooth, wifi, sensors, etc.. so I assumed that the MCU is the same? It has to match the specific hardware? I actually don't know what the MCU even is. I'm just going on an assumption and don't want to risk bricking my unit, or at the very least losing functionality. I even looked into rooting the PX6 series units but im not even sure how to go about that. Some say there is software for it, others say adb, and others say apps like KingRoot but I have never liked those apps as they tend to install crap you don't need or brick units.
The online costum-ROMs for our HU are these from the users Hal9k and malaysk.
You can also install the stock-ROMs from the yandex-folder I Linked above.
Your mcu is up to date and does not require an update
It is recommended that you run the stock ROM that comes on the head unit for a few weeks to make sure there are no issues with your new head unit. Plus you might find that the unit does everything you want it to do with the stock ROM. Installing a custom ROM just to "to have a custom ROM" is not recommended. May want to consider your reason(s) for installing the custom ROM.

You don't need custom ROMs - there are no true custom roms for these, they are modified base roms of one manufacturer
these basically mask/ workaround problems and may not be suitable for you headunit

Ahhh ok thank you. That actually help a lot. I was debating just spending a couple hundred more dollars and getting something like the Pioneer AVH-2400NEX. The display on this is a little washed out for my taste, and the actual unit itself is a couple millimeters to big to fit a standard double din dash kit. Apparently that's a typical thing with the Chinese head units that I didn't know about. The measurements tend to be off on them and are either to big or to small to fit correctly. I was thinking the Pioneer would be a bit snappier and have a much better screen. This Venku isn't bad by any means, it's pretty snappy and stuff, but its not quite what I was hoping for. Anybody happen to have one that can tell me what they think if the unit?
I have the same HU as you and I don't like the launcher that is installed. Looks like the HT-ROM.
So I can understand and understand if you want to change the ROM. In the yandex folder there are some stok ROMs from other manufacturers.
There are a lot of good alternative launcher apps available on Google Play and can be installed without changing ROMs. I use Car Launcher Pro (there is a free version too).

Hi everyone.
I just noticed that currently there's just one developer (Raghu varma) who's developing for our Hanoip devices; last month i noticed that his XDA threads had been closed by his own request. I searched a little more, and i noticed that many of his other development threads from other devices were also closed (by his request i guess)
Does this means that development for our device are kind of abandoned?
Also, there's a telegram group that publish his roms (and any other from this device, if any) and there aren't new posts since august 27.
Does anyone knows anything? :'s
I don't know, I'm using aosp13 and there are basically no bugs
i've found this,
sad

So...one guy in one device forum...made him stop all development for all devices? Sounds a bit extreme, but...I gotta say, I kinda understand where is he coming from with all this.
Hardware is expensive. Even building on a Google virtual machine costs money. And when you're building multiple ROMs for multiple devices, that means lots and lots of TBs of storage, and a pretty beefy computer so you can finish all that work preferably before New Year's.
Also, I know this kind of people. People who love to just complain about everything. I see them everywhere. And it drives me crazy. It's like nothing is good enough for them. They keep complaining and demanding stuff. And they tend to forget all the work and all the time that goes into this. They just don't appreciate it. I mean, it's not all about the money. Although, as I said, hardware is expensive, and...you do need to eat, once in a while. So...a little something would be really appreciated. But when you're doing it for free, and you don't even get a thank you; instead, you only see complaints and requests and people demanding things to be done in a certain way, in a certain time...you get sick of it pretty fast.
People like this don't care enough to see the good in anything. Everything is trash, everything is not worth anything (even when you get it for free!), so...yeah. The rest of the post has been removed (and I'm sure it was for a good reason), but I can imagine what was probably there before.
So I kinda understand his decision. Development is not easy. And it can be expensive, if you want hardware. So...yeah, when you see people like that who are just not ok with anything, you kinda wanna give up on everything and move on. Cause you feel like nothing is worth your time more than your own life and your own peace of mind.

Well, in fact, I used three roms made by him. Among them, los does not have its own Google suite, which does not meet Google's requirements, so it can't run Android auto. However, aosp and pe come with Android auto and Google suite. but apparently they face the same bug there must be a bug somewhere and i will have to go back to the official rom to get me to use android auto

THREAD CLEANED
XDA is in no way a ring for childish fights inherited from external chat groups. If you consider yourself being kanged on XDA, please provide the proofs to our moderation team for investigation. Meanwhile, keep the drama away from xda threads if you can't handle it by PM.
Thank you.

To be honest there is nothing to hide but ultimately the background music with hate is just making me more headache to deal with these few haters. Even though if you look in to my works from last 3 years to till date. I am following my protocol with proper terms & conditions. So just dealing with few new haters in a positive way. On top of it i don't even care about other developers unless they do something to me or some friendship from long but ultimately if you look in to his posts, he himself posting all drama . So better he should surrender with his own scrap. I am out from this so kindly from now i request XDA moderators to ban all these story writers who post racism/criticism/nepotism stories.
By the way the Kang word doesn't even fit to me because ultimately according to GPL my kernel source is always publicly available and you can take that and share to XDA DRT team. Iam ready for it. Most importantly i already told to everyone in all places( inside & outside XDA )as well "if anyone have issues with authorship then come to me, will review and proceed accordingly but if i identify the commit is fishy then i will discard on face" but ultimately few knew only creating drama.
Thanks for your time moderator.
Cheers
because one useless guy there complain about bugs.... so simple
