Ever since I upgraded my Nexus 5 and Nexus 5x I have a very odd issue. Only when I play video games, I get a very stuttering/choppy sound from speakers and earphones. Does anyone else have this issue?
Running Pure Nexus, Elementalx, dual mono speaker upgrade, and viper4andriod.
On my old Nexus 5 I ran a completely different ROM/Kernel combo. The only thing in common is the viper4andriod.
When I disable viper4andriod, stuttering/choppy sound is still there. Anyone else experience this? Any solutions to try? This only occurs during video game play.
Thanks

Hi, this is my first thread on XDA and I was wondering if anyone else has run into the problem I just recently came across:
While watching Netflix earlier with earbuds in, I received a notification and the notification sound went off per usual but when the audio returned to Netflix, it was different. There is now an extreme amount of bass and voices sound distant and somewhat tinny. I tried listening to a song I had listened to earlier and it sounds completely different.
Would anybody know a way to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.
Also, while typing this up, I'm experiencing double letters being inputted. I've heard of this problem on older versions of Android (and some of my older devices) but I was wondering if this is normal with this tablet, 3.2, or just Tegra 2 devices in general? I'm being forced to type extremely slow to keep from having it occur and I have never had this problem with my most current phone, the GS2 Epic 4G Touch. I'm currently using Thumb Keyboard 4, if it matters any.
Thank you to anyone who responds to this.

Hi guys,
So I just got my GN a couple days ago and I've been LOVING it... but I just encountered a huge issue with video recording and I cant seem to find another thread that discusses this problem. I went to a Young the Giant show a few nights ago and recorded a few of their songs but when I went to watch them tonight, the video was normal, but the audio was sped up exactly 2x its normal speed. Once the audio finished, the video continues on the phone, but on the PC the windows media player errors out and closes the video. I have 6 videos which all do the same exact thing.
Has anyone else had this issue? I would really like to know if I just got a bad phone...
No, definitely i haven't seen anything like that by now. Seems like an issue with codecs.

I thought the same thing... but this is on the stock ICS rom. It is rooted, though.
Nope, no overclocking has been done. I simply rooted the phone, keeping the stock rom in place. Any suggestions for a third party video recorder?
Wow... thanks so much for the tip Acererak, it was the volume boost app! I was using Volume+ because the phone's max volume is just so low. I guess I'll have to find another method. Thanks!
Hi all,
I've just recently purchase a Surface RT, am still getting use to Win RT environment.
There is a slight issue, is there anyway to fix the audio lag issue?
I've tried playing 1080p videos, 720p videos (WMV, MKV, MP4) without any lag using mobile.HD. But when I switched on the subs, the audio lags behind for 5, 6 seconds. I've used the performance tips given by the Internet (disable windefender, disable animations, and stuff), nothing seems to be working.
Anyone has the same problem? Or ways to solve it?
Sounds like an app problem more than anything else. I've never tried, so I can't suggest anything better, but it's been a common discussion thread here.
I've gone through any available thread on the internet with regards to the issue, seems that no one has replied to this particular issue. I've tried many players, none of them works without the audio lag. Guess will have to wait till VLC is released.
On the plus side, that *is* coming, sometime... so there will be that, at least.
Exactly as described. When playing audio or video from the speakers (or headphones about 2-3 times for a 4 minute mp3 in poweramp) the sound occasionally (every 15-20 seconds) pops and makes crackling sounds and sometimes even stutters. I have to believe it is a hardware fault and it has been doing this since new about 2-3 weeks ago. It does this at all volume levels as well.
Has anyone else had similar issues or am I alone here? Watching movies (YouTube or basic .mp4s played back with MX player) is currently very frustrating..
Any advice on repairs or fixes?
Its sound like a hardware issue. Are you still able to return it?, and maybe swap it out for a different Next 7

Anyone else experience lag with poweramp? It is really ruining my music. I have gotten so used to it that its expected now and it is very disappointing.
it has worked fine since the beginning.
what kind of lag are you experiencing?
No lag here either through bluetooth and also through my gear S it works perfect.
the lag I was experiencing was that the song would be playing fine regularly and would cut out for like a second or two and resume playing. This mainly happened through bluetooth but think I remember it happening through headphones. Since rolling back to 4.4.4. I haven't experienced this but it was really getting on my nerves how one of the latest phones out would screw up playing simple mp3s
are you using poweramp with a lot of dsp settings?
the first thing you could have done was increased the audio buffer to see if it fixes it.
maybe lollipop just isn't buffering enough sound for your Bluetooth device?(trying to save energy?)
rolling back to kitkat (loses a sdcard functions so might not be the best idea)
