Replaced touchscreen doesn't work - Asus Fonepad 7

Hi,
my Tablet fell to the floor and broke the lcd and also the digitizer. I bought an assembly replacement (lcd+digitizer) and replace it. I connected all, but when I powered on the tablet, the display works but the touchscreen doesn't. I tried many times to unplug and replug the flat cable of the digitizer but it doesn't work.
I found this thread on another forum , that talks about a similar problem on another Asus device. I think it could be related because at some point there was burning smell, but now I don't know what to do. Can somebody help?
Thanks

Damaged parts in my prophet

I previously bought a used prophet.
It was working fine when suddenly it randomly wouldn't take any touch command on the screen (when i click with stylus nothing happens)
I opened it trying to fix it, found out the flat cable between the board and the screen was previously damaged and soldered.
Now i ended up with a damaged flat cable and a damaged battery contacts part (the part that has the battery contacts on the board) which broke off.
Do you guys think I can find these parts? and is the flat cable a replaceable part or do i have to change the whole screen?
Any suggestion is most appreciated

You can get the flat cable separately (no need to change the LCD if it is still working).
The battery contact on the PCB will be a problem. How handy are you with a soldering iron?
PM me for more details.

[Q] How do I know if the Flex is Broken?

Last month my Xperia Play touch screen stopped working it stops at unlock screen and the unlock screen slider wont move, a lot of people told me that it was the screen digitizer so I buyed a new one. A few minutes ago I disassembled the Xperia and tried to make it work disassembled and the screen still doesnt work. I want to know is this just because I turned it disassembled, or the Flex cable is dead. Sorry the bad english
if your flex cable is broken, you can see silver spot (mostly black) on your flex cable, if there are many silver spot on your flexible cable so you must buy the new one...

[Q] Screen Digitizer not Responding?

My Xperia Play flex cable broke a month or two ago, and I didn't feel bothered to fix it. Everything was working before it broke.I left it disassembled, and each part in an anti-static bag in bubble-wrapped packaging. I recently bought a new flex cable off of eBay, and installed it into my XPlay. Everything was working fine with the exception of my touch screen. I remember that the touch screen was working flawlessly before i had replaced the flex cable.
Is there any way to check if the new flex cable is just malfunctioning or the digitizer is actually broken? (or could it just be a software issue?)

have you also checked if the slider flex (it manages digitizer, physical buttons, and LCD converge) is damaged...
Sorry for the off topic, but can you link me to where you bought your flex?
I'm stocking up just in case mine breaks again.
If it's possible, try flashing a stock FTF. Then there's also a case of old and new version flex cables, as described here-

[Q] ASUS Vivo Tab RT Self-Repairing

Hi all, sorry for my bad english first, I broke my vivo tab rt so I tried to self repair with lcd+digi assembly, but I pinned 2 cables into lcd and boards but not working now(display just lights, but I cant see anything on screen, I think I plugged cable wrong. please help me!
p.s.: I have pulled boards for plug the lcd cables, is this ok?
well for a start in that second picture you can clearly see contacts on the board and casing which should be connected.
Anywho, those flexi ribbon cables are not designed for user interaction. They are placed at installation only, they are *very* delicate if not handled with care. Damage to those could easily cause your issue, or a poor insertion to the socket.
thanks to ur post

Look for micro cracks on the screen. Look for it at an angle. It will be on the display and not on the touchscreen glass.

Check using an USB-C to HDMI adapter, hook it to a monitor and see if the phone itself works, if you adapter is a hub with HDMI and USB you can also test it with a mouse.

Mine died like that, it fell off and the glass looked like new, a big black stain appeared after the fall then a bit later it went completely black, i installed a new screen and works perfectly, the old one still looks like is perfectly fine but am sure the lcd is micro-cracked since i got to see the lcd stains.
