Galaxy S7 animations - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know or have a port of the animations from galaxy s7 or s6? The animations are much smoother than our N5X (and its not because of better specs or anything like that) but it is just a matter of porting them to work on our device. I would do it but I don't have the skills...does anyone know if there is any flashable zip to achieve this?
It would require editing the framework with the xml files

No. Go buy the device.

Stupid question, stupid answer. They're the same animations only adjusted for Samsung devices. If we port them here, they will most likely be choppier than on Samsung devices. The only way to get them to run the same, is to have the same device, ergo. Go buy a Samsung

Lol ok I see you dont know what you are talking about. Do yourself a favor and stop posting dumb comments. Animations can be modified and ported across devices for your information. Xda is really going downhill, full of pricks and unhelpful people...
Btw mods, this was supposed to be on Q & A, please move it there, my mistake.

Okay, so, what animations are you exactly referring to?

Transition animations, app opening animations and etc...
I think it basically comes down to the animation and interpolator used in the animation,it is not device specific as far as I know. There were some mods for animations for my previous phone, the LG g2 and they worked very well but they need to be modded for our framework to be used. I am not skilled to do it otherwise I would do it and post it for the community...

Thing is, I don't think anyone really cares enough to do it, nor have the desire to. And plus, with the way Android is constantly changing, they probably wouldn't even work. Things are a lot different from the LG G2 days.

Yeah I see that only a few people care about it, that's why I thought of asking it here because it is not something that is shared by lots of people and maybe someone would have modded or stored in another website or something...
Anyway I guess I will try to learn it and try it myself and see how it goes=p.

..it's a newer version of the EVO http://androidcommunity.com/htc-evo-design-4g-review-20111027/
I was thinking of opening up another line for my wife, I don't care for the 3d or paying 200+ for a new phone.
I wanted to see if anyone here would know if there is any kind of support like root or ROM development on this phone. I don't hear much or any buzz. (once you root, it's the way to go) Can't just have a plain old stock phone..lol!

I've seen a few mentions / requests, kind of surprised they haven't created one yet.

Yea, seeing as my wife and myself have the evo design, and its not a bad phone.. it needs some love, and customization options.
Lets get a forum going for it, and get it some ice cream sandwich ! lol
I also was looking for some support for this phone as I am thinking about getting this on another line. Like most people here I don't like to keep anything stock for to long after I get it home. Well I will just wait and see what happens here.

Request - froyo or gingerbread rom

Hey guys,
I was wondering if any ROM developer could put together a Froyo or maybe a Gingerbread ROM. It would probably be faster and my apps would work on it. Thanks!

Uhm no? Why would you buy a 4.0 device and the want somebody to put 2.2 or 2.3 on it. Just get a device that runs froyo or gingerbread if you want it that bad.
I really like the hardware and style of the phone. 4.0 just seems sluggish compared to 2.2 or 2.3

What do you have that isn't working on 4.0? The developer needs to update their app. And sluggish? ICS is the fastest smoothest version of Android yet. Maybe you aren't use to all the flash and flair, but you can turn off animations.

No, the correct analogy would be you buying a porche, and then asking somebody to do an engine swap and put in a Escort engine...for free.
I can understand the want to go back to an older OS, sort of like people who want to stick with 'Windows XP'.... You like specific apps & how they are working on your current OS. Then, you switch to a new OS and your app isn't working properly anymore. You think "damn this new OS! I want the old one back!"
Well, the problem isn't the new OS. The problem is support for your app on the new OS. Just like with anything, it's just a matter of time before such issues are addressed and the devs fix/update the app for the new OS.

I'm with you. Collectively, this thread has accumulated the largest amount of dicks I've seen so far on XDA, ever. Especially you, spencer88. I've lurked on a lot of your posts and you are extremely opinionated and you seem to have the what-I-say-goes aura about you. I seem to recall you whining recently about several different CDMA nexus release dates. Also, based on your language, I am ASSUMING you are just a user and not a dev, so why would you respond to this thread, anyway? If a dev can help the guy out, great. porting sense to GN

And I doubt any developer in this forum would bother porting Sense.

Well I want a ZR1 Corvette that gets great gas mileage. Doesn't mean I'm gonna go out and buy one based on the assumption that I heard one time someone was able to optimize the motor and it boosted gas mileage by 50% without sacrificing power. Hey the Nexus One had sense roms.. and they was every day friendly..
But i agree with what other users have said and i say it all the time.. What do you people be thinking about when you buy phones?
If i like Sense ima buy a sense phone.. but if i cant live without my AOSP than im going to stay on a AOSP phone. or buy both..
i say always check a phone "hackabillty" before buying it.. i always wait a few weeks or so before buying a new hot product..
I don't get why people even post on a thread if all they're gonna do is complain, call others assholes or "bright crayons". If you DONT like it, DONT post. Others might be up for a port, just because you aren't you shouldn't feel the need to be rude about it.
Although I might add also that you should have searched the rest of the generals page b4 posting, there should be about 3-4 other threads about this
When there's a developer who is ready to try the port, he will; we won't need to ask for it. There have been attempts already (for both Touchwiz and Sense) but there are problems.
Check the CDMA section of the GNex on Rootswiki and youll know what Im talking about
Seriously if you don't want Sense on your phone ignore the thread, some of us have never owned an HTC Phone and wish to try out Sense, no reason to be assholes over our curiosity.
I loved sense on my Incredible 2. Sure it wasn't as good as aosp in many ways, but I always kept a sense 3.5 backup on my SD card.

If the thread is a repost than by all means point them towards the original one and report it so we can clean it up. But, flaming someone for talking about porting a ROM is completely out of line. It doesn't matter if they want to port the software from a speak & spell, either contribute something to the conversation or keep your thoughts to yourself.

It's because of 1) your question and 2) your responses.
You're asking if anyone has a link to help about something that isn't released. When you were told there isn't such a thing yet, you sounded like a whinny little kid and said "no, I don't want to. Do it for me". How else do you think rue XDA community (who is known for not searching and asking to be spoonfed as well as dumping on said people) is going to respond?

Because you are wanting bleeding edge unreleased software. This comes at a price and that price is you are part of the first ones using it, so of course there is no documentation. It essentially is a beta, it isn't even promised to work let alone have a users guide for it yet. Maybe in a couple months someone will write a guide telling you what the buttons do.
I tried to help inform you but your general rudeness and 'whining' is making me not want to bother and apparently is having the same effect on others that are normally very helpful users here.

Anyone want to test my rom?

hey guys, i just modified the liquid smooth rom cause i was bored.
all credits go to the liquid team...i really didnt do anything hard, and i dont consider myself to be a real developer now.
just wondering if anyone wants to test it out to see if it works, and give some feedback.

Changes made:
-removal/replacement of a few apps
-build.prop changes
-changes to updater-script
-changed boot animation
Like I said, I didn't make this to make a more optimized version of liquid smooth. It's more of an experiment/attempt to learn a bit.
Thanks.

Feedback:
Who'd want to "Test" a rom from a non-developer, when there are many that are from DEVELOPERS, not to mention the Liquid Smooth was developed by a full team. This to me infers that you are better than a team? Oh well, if you want to try peeps, go for it, but remember, it was done by someone who says he was not a developer.

i clearly said in my original post, that i take no credit for this, and that all credit goes to the liquid smooth team.
By test i didnt mean to go through the whole rom and check if every single thing works. Im just asking that you flash it

like i said, im not trying to promote this as the best rom for the s3 that everyone should start using.
no need to get all pissed...it was just a simple question. If you dont want to try it, why even post?
i understand your concern guys, but blind development happens all around XDA. if this guy today had a "Recognized Developer" tag, i bet many of you would try it out. don't underestimate the OP.
that said, make sure you do understand that there is a risk since this is a blind development, although i doubt anything would go wrong since this is just something the OP took from an already working ROM for the TMO Galaxy S III and tweaked it a bit...

i understand your concern guys, but blind development happens all around XDA. if this guy today had a "Recognized Developer" tag, i bet many of you would try it out. don't underestimate the OP.
that said, make sure you do understand that there is a risk since this is a blind development, although i doubt anything would go wrong since this is just something the OP took from an already working ROM for the TMO Galaxy S III and tweaked it a bit...

Thanks. Like you said I doubt flashing this would cause any harm. All I really did was change a couple apps and replace some pics in systemui and frameworkres.
Just make a nandroid, flash the rom, let me know if it installs/boots properly, and then just restore your nandroid.
My apologies go out to the op. He did make an effort to further improve an already outstanding rom and asking for testers is KEY. It's a great start for experimenting while increasing your knowledge on the more advanced aspects of android. Will give this a try once my S3 is fully charged!

I bet if he was a recognize developer you all wouldn't be a§§es. Just say no thank you and move on. Too many drama lovers on this site I swear.

Considering that its possible to modify firmware images and inject custom malicious code, I don't see anything wrong with questioning someone's motives for putting up a ROM that they admit they don't even remember what changes were done to it. I can understand if you think you've improved upon something but without a change log or anything there isn't really any reason to test it. Being cautious is not the same as being an ass.

I agree, there is absolutely nothing wrong with questioning something suspicious. But there are ways to do it without coming off like a jerk.
@OP I do advise adding more to the OP about the changes made if you want testers.

One thing that I hate about the internet - you can't really control how your message is taken by others. I wasn't trying to be a jerk at all.

Oh no, I wasn't aiming that towards you at all. It was just a general statement. Now let's stop spamming this thread with off topic posts
Everybody has a point to start. May be this is his point.
I swear if I was fan of 4.2 roms I would do it for you. But I already had too much headache with 4.2 roms.
Dont forget to ask original dev before you modify his work like this.
Gud luck ahead.
the rom has 6 downloads, however no one has given any feedback?
if anyone flashed it could you let me know if it works ok.
