Are you certain that it will be carrier locked in the first place? I've used cellunlocker before with no issues.

I meant as unlocking the phone mate so I can use any sim, normally cost around £10-£20. I didn't actually mean buying the phone sim free

then yes only phones above 507 are more likely not to happen but it still does.. you have to send it for repair check with the place you got it from to see if it has warranty, if not then contact LG for repair it should be free.

Is your phone still under the warranty or for replacement? Because if it is, it's better to get a new one.

Go replace it immediately. A new phone shouldn't give this problem.

Amazon has said that they will send a service technician to check. I am not sure how will he/she check random reboots... making me worried.

WIll do. The technician is expected tomorrow.
I got a visit from the Amazon person, but he wasn't a technician or an engineer. He told me that he will wait for 10 minutes to see if the phone reboots else will say that it is fine. Alternatively he could perform a factory reset and will then wait. But no tests (not even app based hardware tests).
If he would write that the phone was working fine, I wouldn't have got a replacement. Had to go on a phone call with Amazon and finally managed to convince them to replace, which I think was a good decision. Just before performing the factory reset (to return to Amazon), I noticed that the touch was becoming slightly sluggish.
I hope that the replacement does not give me any problem.
Thanks guys for your help!

What the fk. They should've sent a technician. But yeah since you're getting a replacement, let's hope it goes fine this time.

Second thought, if it's from T-mobile store, it probably has a transaction ID that's linked to an IMEI. Then it won't work.

Do you realize that if I took it from the store I would no longer be stressed here .. I took it from a stranger to a pretty good sum I say compared to the initial price ..
Chalk it up as a lesson learned. You have been scammed then.

Then you likely only have 2 options. Either get your money back from whom you purchased it from, or call Samsung to resolve the IMEI issue. You very well could have a stolen device. XDA and it's members will offer no assistance to change IMEI numbers, since that is an illegal practice in many countries to begin with. Good luck.
