He has no imei ...

Ok, good luck. Sounds like someone trying to scam their way into a phone.

So I can't use sim ..
He finds it but it doesn't work without the internet (wifi) or he asks me to reset it all the time

Do you realize that if I took it from the store I would no longer be stressed here .. I took it from a stranger to a pretty good sum I say compared to the initial price ..

Chalk it up as a lesson learned. You have been scammed then.

Then you likely only have 2 options. Either get your money back from whom you purchased it from, or call Samsung to resolve the IMEI issue. You very well could have a stolen device. XDA and it's members will offer no assistance to change IMEI numbers, since that is an illegal practice in many countries to begin with. Good luck.

[Q] [Help] I have lost my phone, any tips in wiping it remotely or finding it?

Hi, i have lost my phone, believe its stolen. Is it possible for me to remotely wipe data or logout my facebook and google?
Anyway to locate it through GPS?
Last but not least, any good recommendations for a alternate cheap phone? Like maybe HTC one V?

no deal...
Change all your passwords at least; it won't log you out but if whoever has it tries to access your account(s) it should ask them for the new password instead of just opening straight up.
Change all passwords
I can help you listen.
Your phone can be track through your phone's IMEI number. Just complaint about your lost phone to a police station or to the phone's company. No matter if a person change your lost phone's SIM card, your phone will located through IMEI number.

You have to report as stolen they will give a crime number then go to your network they will block the phone, will never be able to connect to a mobile network.

Depends where you are. In the UK it's standard practice (report a phone stolen to your provider and they'll blacklist the IMEI so it can't be used on a mobile network). In the US I think it's less standard and will depend on your carrier. Elsewhere in the world I've no idea. It's something they can do, you'd have to check whether yours does.
I bet almost any phone carrier will try to track your phone through its IMEI

[Q] MY Samsung Galaxy 3S stolen,HELP?

Greeting
I have a Samsung Galaxy 3S, stolen from me , from about 3 weeks ago or more,
Unfortunately, I did not activate tracking process on my account in Galaxy site!
But I have a serial number to my Samsung Galaxy !!!!
Is it possible to track mobile by serial number???,
If possible Can anyone help me to tracking my Mobile by serial number?,
Or tell me how can i do??
Please help me,
Thank you very much.
No it is not possible to find a a phone using serial, if you got it from your carrier then the best thing you can do is notify your carrier and and tell them you lost it, they may tag it in the system so it is not used on their network...
Pretty sure there's nothing you can do. If you already reported stolen it can no longer be used on at&t. Sorry man...sucks.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
If you happened to have made an imei backup you might be able to get your imei number from it. If the phone is ever turned on and logs onto a network then the carrier may be able to trace it.
If you have renters insurance (usually no deductible) you should be able to file a claim.
Homeowners same thing but u would have to pay..
Last I checked att doesn't care about stolen phones though.. They won't block the imei...

Thank you for your help.
3 weeks is too long to do anything else. Had it just happened I would recommend going to "play" on google.com and installing "Android Lost" to the phone remotely. Then you could take pictures from the camera and see what the bastard looks like. You could then turn on the GPS and find out where he is. Then you go to you local walmart and purchase a nail puller from the hardware section........well you know the rest.
Whats the galaxy 3s ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
It's between the galaxy 3 and 4; then comes the 4s.......LOL nice catch.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
You could remotely install the app called Plan B if they haven't wiped your phone yet... it's from the makers of the security app Lookout.
Carrier can only block, they will never tell you if they find it because of liability issues (so you don't go to someone's home and shoot them for the stolen phone and the carrier gets sued and you find out the poor guy paid for the phone on Craigslist from someone else who stole it, etc etc)
You can file a police report and tell the carrier to notify the cops but cops won't care much because they probably have better things (things with higher priority) to worry about.

Need help SN all 0's

Hello,
I'm hoping someone will be able to help me, my T-Mobile Note 2 SN are all 0's and my IMEI also starts with two 0's..
I'm guessing this means big problems if I want to unlock it.
Please advise on what to do.
Thank you.
are you stock or rooted ?

I don't think that imei starting with two zeros is bad, but your serial number might be an issue in many ways if its 0
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
I'm on stock.
Actually, i think you're right about the IMEI maybe not being a concern. But that serial number still worries me.
I have no idea what was done to make it like this.
What kind of issues might I encouter if i don't fix the SN?
Also, how can something like this be reverted?

Well I would THINK it would be more important for using kies/warranty purposes/ exchanges....things of that nature....as far as everyday use of the phone not important.
I think kies needs a valid serial number to work however.
I also dont think you are the only one with this concern I read another post a while back about serial numbers being zero.

Oh, I was worrying for nothing then.
I don't live in the states (Canada) so it doesn't even matter for the warranty.
Not sure about Kies but I can probably live without it.
Yes kies is pretty redundant

Unfortunately, there is no way other than trying to explain the situation to Tmobile. It's very unlikely that they will do anything, though.
This is why I always meet at a Tmobile store when buying a phone off Craigslist. Have the sale documented.

A word of caution... even if you meet up at a T-Mobile store, the phone can be reported by the scammer right after he has your money and it will still get blacklisted and you're out of luck. T-Mobile will not do anything for you. The best way to buy is to get a pic of the person you're selling it, a pic of their ID, and even their license plate if you can. If they try anything fishy afterwards, law enforcement is your only friend.

[Q] A thief stole my Samsung galaxy Note II GT-N7100

Hello partners, this night a thief stole my Note II, but i have my divice encrypted and the Samsung Account is enabled, as we know we can use Samsung Dive to track a lost phone.
Now, my question is: can he do a Hard reset?, if he can, the Samsung account is erased?, Is there any way he can still use my phone?

If Odin is used.....the device is erased. ..
Have you notified your carrier ??
And are you insured ??
Make sure your carrier blocks the IMEI number. ..it may help prevent future use. ..
Unless the device is turned on. ..And Odin is not used. ...you may not find it again. ...
VERY sorry. ...g

That would only prevent use on the single network though, once unlocked it would be useable elsewhere

Exactly what he^^^^^^^ said¡!
Just so you know most carriers share lost or stolen phone data so or can't be used there. It becomes a paper weight!! The only place that it would actually work is, if it was sent to someone internationally. FYI

Maybe in the US, they sure don't here in Canada..
I've read otherwise too, that they don't. Plus your service is linked to your sim, not imei these days unless you're on a cdma carrier.
If they did the hardware free unlock they could use it on another carrier.
Not that I'm saying don't get the imei blacklisted, but just that it doesn't do much good these days
Yeah I here what ya saying. But that's not cool on Canada's part.

Well. ...
Any attempt to get the device deactivated could help. ..
If Canadian carriers refuse to incorporate a black list program. ..shame on them. .
The amount of device theft and fraud is staggering. ...And it's only getting worse with the inception of these powerful devices. .
Considering that both of our countries are greatly lacking in their ability to stop the reactivation of stolen devices. ..I suppose the only real solution ATM is insurance coverage.
Not the cure by any measure. ..but at least the victim can be up and going again. ..
Why don't we find a way to deactivate download mode ??
Is that even possible ??
That would prevent erasure of the device. ..And would be a huge benefit. ..IMHO. ...g
