[HELP] USB problem - Xiaomi Mi Max Questions & Answers

Hello.
One day suddenly it ceased reacting even when connected to a PC.
The model is Hydrogen (3 GB / 32 GB), CM 14.1 is installed.
Although Fastboot and EDL react PC, neither PC nor device is reactive in OS or TWRP.
I think charging is possible so it is not a physical breakdown, what should I do?
Of course I tried changing cables and ports, and I tried flushing the original ROM.

[Q] Unable to use USB as data connection

Hi,
I have an Xperia Arc with PolygonKK 1.4 custom ROM.
I had a problem similar to what has been reported many times of Xperia S where the phone becomes soft brick if the battery was completely drained, and the phone was not starting or allowing me to recharge the battery. This problem was fixed by charging the battery outside the phone and then plugging it in and starting the phone.
The problem now is that neither my phone or my PC can detect that they are connected via a data cable.
I checked the cable with another phone, it works fine, and I am using the same PC that I have always used to handle my phone (on windows and linux).
When I try to access fastboot mode I see the blue LED but the PC detects nothing
Flash tool does not detect any mode connected (fastboot, ADB, Flash)
I tried cleaning the USB port with no result.
I think now that the port is damaged, but I still have a little hope that this is a software issue, is there a way to know what has happened to the phone?

[Q] Help, please, I have a weird giant problem (WGP)

Hi, I've installed the Resurrection Remix v5.3.8 rom (from cm12 with everything working for a few months), but now I have a giant problem... I don´t have wifi, nfc, bluetooth, mobile internet or cable connection so I can´t load any patch to kernel or simply a kernel to flash. The drivers are up to date and have 7 diferent usb cables + 3 different PCs running win7 x64 and x86 but it only charges the battery, no connecting sound and nothing at device manager, even with a Y OTG cable it only begins to charge.
It's an e975
Can someone help me??
Have you tried Flashing a working modem?

Can´t transfer it to the phone, i have several tested roms, kernels, backups, modems, etc. in my PC, but have no way to put them in the phone because it only charges the battery when i connect to pc. The computers i´ve tryed doesn´t displays any new connection, no usb devices newly attached, and have no devices without drivers or with problems at the device manager... I've connected other lg phone I have and have access to it, so i think the trouble is in the e975.

Zenfone 2 not detected when connected to PC

I was trying to transfer some files to my phone through a USB cable today, but the phone was not recognized by the PC at all (Even though it was working a week or so ago). I had some issues before with the cable needing to be still in a certain position or it would disconnect from the PC, so I tried using another USB cable which didn't work either (I tested both USB cables with another device, and both cables were working and the other device was recognized by the PC).
I also updated the USB drivers on my PC with the official drivers on the ASUS support page, and tried putting my phone in fastboot and recovery mode, but both were still not being recognized by my computer. My phone still charges properly, but I am wondering if the USB port got damaged somehow so that it can't connect to a PC anymore?

uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Ensure that phone is not connected during the process.
also have you upgraded your pc os ? if yes then its a little cumbersome to get the same working...
i changed from stock to cm, it is showing well now ... using RR now
Is your phone encrypted? If so you need to unlock in order for your pc to recognize it.
Thank you both of you for the help, unfortunately, my phone was not encrypted so there was no need to unlock in order for it to be detected. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers didn't work, and my PC was already on windows 10 since a few months ago. I would also prefer sticking to the stock ROM for this phone for now since they keep coming out with updates.
In addition, I tried using a USB OTG cable to see if the phone could detect the USB drive and my phone couldn't (it has worked before, and my old Galaxy Nexus could still detect it). I also tried plugging my dualshock 3 into the phone, and it also couldn't be detected (also had worked before).
It looks like it's actually a hardware issue and my only option is to RMA it now. I'll have to do it at a time when I don't need my phone as much or when I am not as busy.
PS: In case anyone else has this issue in the future, quick charging also no longer works
zenfone2 I also experienced that, and I have tried several ways, but remains unchanged. I was dizzy today :crying:

HTC One m8 (Android 6.0) not connecting to computer

Hi,
So I got fairly sick of HTC's Android 6 update (Crazy amount of bugs) and decided to install CM-13.
A problem arose then when I tried to unlock my bootloader, the computer wouldn't detect my the one m8 in fastboot mode even with android studio and usb drivers installed or standard mode.
I installed HTC sync manager and still no good.
I tried different cables and different computers (one win 10 the other win 7).
When the phone is in standard mode and connected to the computer the usb symbol comes up and says charging only,
if i click on this and select file transfer mode the screen just greys out and stays like that until i click home/back.
This option comes up only once (I need to reboot to get it again).
I found another thread that says to install "AndroidHtcsync2.apk" I tried this and it didn't work.
Thanks
Maybe, like me, you have a broken USB port that will still allow charging but no data connection

That might be it, only thing is i was able to send files no problem a month or two ago before the update.
You need to be in bootloader-fastboot mode for fastboot commands; they won't work booted in OS or in bootloader (I think one of those is what you mean by "standard mode"?).
Other than that, Win7 is more reliable. And USB 3.0 is known to cause issues with USB connectivity on this phone, as well.
Sorry that wasn't clear. I was actually in fastboot mode when sending the commands.
The windows 7 computer I tried it in had USB 3.0 ports as well so that might be it.
However I wiped the phone after failing to flash CM and it fixed most of the bugs I was having trouble with so I might just leave it this way.
Thanks for the help

Fastboot reboots when connected to PC/Laptop

Hello
Hope someone can help I cannot find a definitive answer hopefully in layman's terms for this problem.
Redmi Note 8 Pro Bergonia 6gb ram 128gb storage Miui 12 Global
Tried CFW 2020 Anti-Brick Corvus ....., Afterwards Phone booted then went completely dead apart from power light when connected to usb
Came accross SP Flash Tool this did help, phone now boots, all seems ok apart from when in fastboot when connecting usb to PC/laptop (tried several cables with a PC and laptop using USB 2.0 all worked prior to trying CFW) all with same result phone stays in fasboot for approx 20 seconds then reboots. Don't know if this is relevant, if I put the phone into fastboot and do not connect to usb, fastboot remains on. Is there anyway I can install twrp and root, or am I stuffed?
Thanks

1/Try flash with Miflashtool
2/Try unbrick hardbrick method. You can find on many: Youtube, Telegram, Github, XDA,... Keep phone in EDL mode by bypass and flash by Sp flash tool.
Thank you SP flash tool and a newer driver fixed it.
Use USB 2.0 ports. (use usb 2.0 hubs if you dont have usb 2.0 ports)
Install drivers properly (it should say Android Bootloader Interface in Device Manager)
