Hi there
I have a question. The build in battery monitor can show the SOT when tapping on "screen", right? But it starts monitoring SOT only after the boot. So if you discharge your phone to 40% and charge it up again, you get like crazy SOT because you don't discharge it to 0%. Is there a way to reset the SOT Everytime I unplug the phone so that it shows me the "real" SOT between charges?

You have something wrong. I am on 3.2.8 and it shows the SOT correctly whether charged from 0 or from any other percentage.

Well, I'm not on OOS. That could be it.

SoT is a part of battery stats and resets if you charge above 90.
A lot of "battery calibration" apps in play store let you manually delete the stats.

But is there a way to automatically reset the stats, no matter how much I charged?
I can manually reset it in EXKM but I'm talking about resetting it automatically
I was wondering this too. I didn't know the phone had to be charged above 90% for the stats to be reset. I wish the battery stats reset every time you restarted your phone
Screen on time reset
Even I too want the screen on time reset after Reboot (not soft reboot). Android still not provided this feature.
I use battery charge notifier app and never charge phone till 90% and I charge only upto 80% for good battery health. Even after rebooting phone, the SOT continues, it should actually reset.

I have the HTC HD2 as well and can get it down to about 2 hours per percentage point of battery which lasts me forever in standby. However, on my new G2 with Cyanogen mod RC3,2 and 1 I can not get it lower then 39 MA and I have nothing on on the phone that would take battery like that. All sync is off, no GPS, No back up, no data, no bluetooth, no wifi.
I noticed in the battery settings that the Android System is taking nearly 70 percent of my battery and I can not get it lower no matter what settings.
I turn off auto brightness, sound is minimal, leds are off, haptic feed back is off, brightness is at 25 percent.
I can not figure this out and its a deal killer for this phone for me since I was getting 3 and sometimes 4 days with these settings on on my HD2.
Anyone can help ??
heh... just because its taking 70% of the battery doesn't mean its draining it. on a 100% scale, something has to take that 100% up, and it SHOULD be the Android System. Get it?

Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. It shouldnt be more than about 6 to 8 percent.
I was able to get two hours per percentage point on an operating system that ran from the sd card which takes more power then an OS on the Nand since it is continually reading to get information back and forth.
Anyhow, Something is wrong as I am getting about 6-7 minutes per percentage point on this G2. That is horrible. Not acceptable either.
And that is in Standby Mode with the screen off and all the settings above.
Drain your phone's battery until it shuts off. Then turn it on again.
Then charge the phone to 100% battery.
Boot into recovery and wipe battery stats.
You're all set.

If android system is taking up 8 percent, then what in your opinion should be taking up the other 92% of battery usage?

this has worked for me numerous times
I bought a new battery today, a Chinese knock-off battery which claims to have a capacity over 2000. I live in Mongolia, so that's basically my only option if I want a replacement battery, since there's basically no postal system here.
When I first put in the battery, it showed a 59% charge. After a few minutes and maybe a reboot, it showed a 20% charge. It consistently drained down to zero, and I'm charging it now.
I've experienced really strange battery drain with the former battery (also a Chinese knock-off) where it loses maybe 10 percent an hour on idle, so I figured the battery needs to be replaced. Is there anything I can do to calibrate it? I have a feeling that the charge is actually more than is being shown, but no way to confirm my suspicions. Am I right just to try to charge it to 100% and discharge it to 0% until the battery life gets better, or is there something else to do? I should mention I've tried resetting the battery stats in CWM with no real effect.
Thanks from Mongolia.
Go into recovery when battery is at 100% and go to advanced then clear battery stats or download battery config for rooted devices and clear battery stats that way.

Clearing battery stats achieves nothing other than deleting the stats on the what has been using battery power. Battery calibration isn't required on our phones.

if you want to increase battery life for your new battery, charge it fully to 100% whenever you charge it will increase charge storing capacity of the battery

Never, ever I repeat never let your battery drop below around 5%, and always charge it before it reaches zero. I use the Guage Battery widget v3 pro as it is very accurate, but you can also get the free version. You can & should use the free battery calibration tool from the Google play store, simply install it & charge the battery to 100% then run the calibration App. simples

I charged my battery to 100, the next day it dropped to 78% then to 15% when I got home and checked it. Please help! I have tried everything from battery savers to BBS.

I lose about 10% an hour with nothing but RocketPlayer music running. What are you used to in terms of battery life? Try and app called "battery spy," it will save specific info about charge and use rates as %'s. And it will save this info for about 5 days in the trial/free version.

That's odd, my battery seems to be working better now. Charged it to 100% yesterday. Got home today with no screen time and it's at 83%.
So my battery life seems to be pretty good until it gets to below 15%. Sometimes it can then die instantly, from 15% to 0% in a second, other times it will drain through the numbers but what seems like too quickly.
E.g. I've just had it on 6%, using Chrome for some light browsing, phone in standard mode (not in Performance or Power-Saving modes). At 5% the screen dimmed automatically. 2 minutes later it was at 2%. A minute after that and it's 0% and turning off. Should I be losing the last 6% battery in 3 minutes when just using the browser, or is my battery likely to be faulty?
I've done a factory reset, but still get the same battery pattern. Is this normal?
Thanks!
Just a follow-up incase anyone else suffers the same. I took it to a Samsung store and they ran diagnostics. They said the battery was fine but replaced that and the motherboard and now it works fine

if a factory reset didnt change the symptom, the only other thing you could have done is reflash fresh firmware
Mine did the same the other day ?
In the last few days I've been seeing some strange issues with the battery graph. It has been saying that I've been off the charger for over 30 days and the battery level line is off the chart on the right. It seems to only be resolved when I charge to over 90% which causes the battery graph to reset.
Anyone else have this issue?
Mine does the same because I only charge to 80% all the time to help with battery longevity. The app I use to limit the charge also has a button to wipe battery stats. It's called battery charge limit

Even if you only charge to 80% it still shouldn't have the graph line totally off the chart. This only started recently. Before I never had an issue even if I didn't charge over 80%.
New experience just now.
