Ok so maybe this is a Chrome beta issue but it started when updated to 7.1.1.
Every time Im on a long page Im viewing, I cannot scroll all the way down. Ill pull the page down and then it will jump back up to the top.
For example, when Im on Amazon.com and I click "read more" on a review for something. It will expand the review but then the page will jump to the bottom of the review. Then Ill try scrolling up to the beginning of the review and it will keep jumping down to the bottom.
This is really frustrating and its happening on many different sites including this one.

This seems to be a chrome bug. Click/press/ tap on a non link element and you can then scroll. If you click on a link or button it seems to keep that link or button focused and when you move away from it snap you back. Just tap something that isn't a link and scroll away

Holy cow! I can't believe the solution was that easy. Just tried it a couple times to confirm. Thank you.

Just doing my share to give back to XDA. Glad it's working for you. Happy Holidays!

I stumbled upon a feature in the Chrome browser that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. I noticed that if there are multiple small links in a small area, if your finger may be hitting more than one link at the same time, it will give you a zoom bubble that will let you select the link easier. I have attached picture of it so you can see what I mean.
Also here's my mini review of the Chrome browser.
http://thesmartphonechamp.com/hands-on-demo-and-mini-review-of-new-chrome-browser-for-android-video/
From what I picked up on the forum Opera seems to have this as well.
But yeah I haven't seen this mentioned on many blogs/news sites.
I saw that when I was browsing this forum yesterday when I was selecting a page number. Pretty cool

Yeah that's how I came across it, through forum browsing. I like that feature a lot as it means now I don't have to zoom in to hit small links that are in between other links. Great move on the part of Google.
Google have actually documented that on their release post:
http://chrome.blogspot.com/2012/02/introducing-chrome-for-android.html
One of the biggest pains of mobile browsing is selecting the correct link out of several on a small-screen device. Link Preview does away with hunting and pecking for links on a web page by automatically zooming in on links to make selecting the precise one easier.

Opera would automatically zoom in when you hit an area with > 1 small links. It was quite convenient. But of course I've not found any browser other than stock suitable enough until now, convenient or not. It may be some form of unconscious Google bias but I'm with that.

I'm in a similar boat as you. Most of the time I've actually liked using Dolphin, yet for some reason every time I always wound up going back to the stock browser. It didn't matter what device I was using, I always wound up going back to the stock browser for whatever reason.
I tried to ignore this but it is really bugging me. You cannot change the page from the top any more. I have to scroll all the way down just to change the page. Some of you are probably thinking "what a lazy git!" but it's seriously annoying having to scroll down every time i want to see the latest comments on a thread. Is there any way to get this back?

It will be fixed at some point, no doubt, but for now save your scroll wheel and finger the hassle and just press the end key
Hahaha I just googled this because I knew someone would've posted a thread about it. IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!! Hahah I am hating it just as much as you are. Hopefully it's just a temporary glitch or something.
It's quite annoying because I automatically think I'm on a one-page thread (hence, the wrong thread most of the time).
It will be fixed, but for a temporary measure see this post...

Hope this is fixed soon. I had to google it to find this thread. The page numbers use to be on the top and bottom correct?

or scroll down to bottom and change theme to xda classic. It has the page jump at the top.
Clear your cache...it's fixed
What happened to the upper-page jump to page links ?
There was an page link at the TOP and Bottom of the form page!
But Now ONLY the bottom of the thread .. Its a real pain in the Butt!
to have to scroll all the way to the bottom of 50 posts to get to the page links !
Please Bring it back Please !

Yes please. This stinks. I guess i must have something with having readers scroll thru as much info before making a post.
But you cant destroy the user experience for all the rest just because of a few.
Please change it back, pronto!
Are we saving electricity or real estate? Please bring that top page switcher back!! It was great before it was "improved"!

Never thought about it this way, but that could be one reason. However it's pretty annoying, for example, when you're looking through a thread to figure out where you are, and you go to the next page, see that you've been on this one already, and have to go to the bottom to go to the next page. And since the bottom of the page is not actually where the next page button is, it takes some time.

Yea ! Thanks ! I was sure hoping to hear that !
Hope you find the bug as soon as possible because this situation is very annoying.
Scroll down to bottom of page and change theme from xda 2010 to xda classic and you will have upper page jump back. It changes the look, but you will have the jump back.
I'm glad to know it's a bug, I thought I changed something
It's indeed very annoying without it.
Good luck finding the bug.
btw, if I switch to 'hybrid mode' I get the page numbers back. But it's a not really in the right place. Maybe it helps.
It has been restored now.
thank you
thanks xda-developers

So this is a pretty weird problem here.... I've noticed that whenever I'm browsing these forums on my Note 3 (it also seemed to happen sometimes on the sgs3 as well) I will run into this problem. What happens is when I go to a page that lists threads or forums, so a device's main page, the main forum page, or a forum itself, the page loads fine but when I actually try to interact, be it zoom in so that I can see things easier, or scroll down, or even click a search box, the whole page will begin to reload. Then once reloaded, half the time I can use the page without it happening again (all though hardly ever on the sgs3) and the other half of the time it would just happen again. The only way to keep it from happening that I found is to simply load the page, then when I go to interact with it I just do so near the top of the page so that if the thing starts to reload then I can quickly tap on the x button to stop it. If I do this then it won't bother me again like that on that page. I can scroll or type or whatever. But as soon as I go to another forum, device page, or even the next page of the same forum, the same thing , will happen.
Does anyone know why this is happening and any way to correct it? Is it an issue with chrome itself, as this only seems to happen on chrome, but my issue there is that I like chrome abd o especially like the way my bookmarks settings and passwords are shares across my own personal devices. So any ideas to fix this? It's driving me nuts! Oh and yes I know I could use the app but I'm just not that fond of it. I've even bought the premium one to support the forum a little but I'd just rather use the browser. Thanks for any help....I'm sure some others are experiencing this issue.

Using stock browser on my Note 10.1 it does this every time I try to use the XDA search. Havent tried it on my N3 though.
Anyone know how come the N3 stock browser acts like Chrome when you zoom? I cant figure out how to have the text format to the page either.

I shut off Java on the mobile chrome browser and this issue stopped.
I like having java though that's such a limiting way to deal with the problem
Where is this button Tony it's talking about? I don't remember seeing any buttons hardly in chrome.....
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yep happens to me too. I can't stand it. I find Firefox works best. It never refreshes like that.
Yea every other browser works fine except chrome it Is stupid as all get out.... what can be done to fix it I don't want to stop using Chrome because I use the bookmarks all the time etc.... it's just much easier for me to use Chrome for like 99 percent of the stuff that I do.... so any ideas? What is this auto reload feature that one guy was talking about? I've never heard of or seen it anywhere in chrome...has anyone else?

Thanks....at least that fixes it.... though you lose a couple features I guess it is what it is until they fix it that is.....
Thanks for the workaround. I also bought the premium app and i feel ripped off because it is really, really bad.
They should not activate a default setting that is bugged on a browser most users browse these forums with!
Hi. I noticed that for any thread I visit and try to go to any other page via the buttons, the page simply reloads. For example, in a thread, I want to see page 2 to see if there are new comments. I click the 2 in the page buttons (the one with numbers and arrows for previous/next page), then the page reloads and the 1st page is still shown. Same for any number I click on. Strangely, this doesn't happen when I click the "Last Page" button...
I'm assuming this is either a bug or something wrong on my end, but I don't know which.

Not the case here. Please refer to attached screenshots; file names show how fast the shots were taken i.e. pages also loaded very fast.
Maybe a browser issue on your side?
EDIT: Just tested via XDA Labs, too. No issues. Please refer to additionally added screenshots.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if it was site-wide or just me. I guess it's just me, but I don't know why. It could be my browser (I could try on another browser just in case).
