With all the past froyo roms every one that I have tried i've gotten that new voice mail notification but there is none.
I changed my voice mail number as directed to *my phone number.
But i'm still getting the notification...
Anyone have a fix?
Thanks
Just changed my voice mail number again. Now with out the *!!! Still getting notification..... seems like no one has a positive fix for this....
In the RC1 thread, cyanogen posted that they have a temporary fix and it will be in tonight's nightly. They are investigating what the actual issue is (apparently it's something with the way Sprint handles things).
Oh okay. Thank you for the info.
Finally get a straight answer.
Hey fellow XDAer's,
I am constantly missing text messages from friends and every once in a while, I see that I get a voicemail with no missed call on the phone. I am wondering is it is the ROM I am running or just the phone.
Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how did you fix it?
I was thinking about dropping my ROM back down to a stock ROM (rooted) and see if that helps. Does anyone have any good suggestions on a bone stock rooted rom to test?
Thanks!
Hey,
I have had this issue before and honestly it was neither, it was just the sprint service, I had bars but I was missing text calls etc and I called the sprint store to have them tell me it was just an outage. So most likely that is what is causing it.
Now to counter this I use google voice so either I normally get my calls and text through one or the other or both if data and 1x is working properly!
I wish you the best of luck and hope you figure it out!
If I helped please hit that thanks button!
I was missing random text messages until I started using Ghostly SMS. Since I started using that a couple of months ago it has recovered over 100 text messages.
which rom are you on?
roms like energy are notorious for not getting sms through. i have had mannnyy people think im ignoring them because texts arent coming through i will usually switch to voice intergration and solves it cuz everything is going through voice.
and/or see if there are certain radios that work better for the rom you are on. sometimes that will help too
I've been using Google Voice for over a year now, and YouMail before that on my Palm Pre 2, so I haven't used Verizon's voicemail in a long time.
My issue is, every time that I get a text, I also get new voicemail notifications for voicemail that I have already listened to. Sometimes I will get "10 unread voicemail" notifications, most of the time it's one or two unread VM's, it is very annoying.
I've reinstalled the app, cleared data, and I've marked all VM's in Google Voice unread and then read - nothing works
Any other ideas?
I think there is a setting you can change so it does/doesnt notify you via sms/email when you get a vm.
You need to change this on a computer, not the app.
voice.google.com
Yes that option does exist, but I am not getting text/email alerts of voicemail. I'm constantly getting voicemail notifications, which I want, just not the same ones over and over
Am I the only one with issues?

I have the same issue on my Nexus 4, 4.2.2. It is very annoying and the fact that this obvious bug has not been dealt with does make me wonder if Google Voice is going the way of Google Reader.... No devs. Maybe Babble will solve it... The only alternative I have found is turning off the integration and sending a text for the voicemail to the phone. Pretty kludgy.
Ugh, hoping for complete Babble overhaul as well. The entire app is a mess really

Oh okay, your first post threw me off because it says you got a text every time.

I agree with this. My problems were different than yours. I didn't get notifications on a regular basis. Then I'd get 10 notifications for messages I never received. Sometimes a phone reboot would send messages to me, but not always. My gmail account had the notifications but they weren't pushed to the app.
I got tired of it, and went back to sprint VM. I wish sprint visual voicemail was an option on this phone. - Note, I am NOT rooted, and use this for business and cannot root (company policy).
I just found this thread when I went searching for solutions to this same issue. Did anyone figure out a solution or a workaround?
I'm also experiencing the same issue.
Me too. Two different phones now. 2013 moto X and droid turbo 64 gig. A lot of times for me it does not seem to be triggered by the reception of a text message. It will just happen. It also seems like it's just related to a few messages in my voicemail. This morning, I got a notification from a voicemail from August 5th that I listen to that day and have been notified maybe 3 or 4 times since that it existed. I'm about ready for the kludgy workaround mentioned earlier to turn off notifications on my phone and turn on text message notifications for it. Also hoping that this post will spark some new interest in fixing this problem or even better remind someone to post a solution that they found.
google voice app settings
I have had the same issue on my Samsung Galaxy S3 ever since I started using a Google Voice number. I get my google voice voicemails in Hangouts, so there should be no reason for me to receive a voicemail notification for them. I was just looking through the Sync And Notications section of the Settings inside the Google Voice app, and I found that I can uncheck the voicemail notications. Hopefully this will not affect my receiving notifications for my regular phone number (the one attached to the phone), or receiving hangouts messages with the Google Voice number voicemails.
After flashing anything but stock, I get text messages like:
//ANDROID:MWI Notif turnOn mdn:.......
or
//Android:2069348583 has sent you a Sprint Voice message.
obviously the seem to have something to do with voicemal, as when ever I get a voicemail i get one so..... But some come at random times and don't seem to have any relation to voicemail at all... I am just curious what the deal is with these messages? what do they mean? and why do they come via the sms app>
I have a note 2 on sprint, running the newest carbon rom, but Ive experienced the same thing on every other AOSP rom I've flashed
sorrry if this has been posted somewhere else, I did a brief look but didnt find anything.
I've been getting the same message. However, I'm on an HTC One and am unrooted and running everything pretty much stock. It just started for me recently and I haven't had a chance to call sprint to see what their explanation was. Definitely a pain since i'm NOT receiving any notifications about voicemails other than this.
I'm running AOKP 4.2.2 on PagePlus -- I'm not getting new voicemail notification. I get it when I reboot the phone, but if I have to do that every time, that's gonna suck. Is this a known issue? Otherwise, the ROM is really just perfect.

I can't possibly be the only person who's affected by this...how are you coping with the voicemail notification issue? Right now, I have the phone scheduled to reboot each morning, but it's a pretty bad workaround. If there's no solution for this, I'll have to go back to Gingerbread -- and I really don't want to do that...
Atm I don't think there is a fix. An easier workaround for me is to just Force Close and clear data on the phone app. This will make the notification appear if you have a voicemail and disappear if you don't.
