With all the past froyo roms every one that I have tried i've gotten that new voice mail notification but there is none.
I changed my voice mail number as directed to *my phone number.
But i'm still getting the notification...
Anyone have a fix?
Thanks
Just changed my voice mail number again. Now with out the *!!! Still getting notification..... seems like no one has a positive fix for this....
In the RC1 thread, cyanogen posted that they have a temporary fix and it will be in tonight's nightly. They are investigating what the actual issue is (apparently it's something with the way Sprint handles things).
Oh okay. Thank you for the info.
Finally get a straight answer.

Hey guys!
I have browsed through many threads about getting Sprint's VVM to work on Cyanogenmod, and I can't get it to work.
I've installed two different versions of the program, got the text messages from 9016 saying that it was successful, changed the *86 to my phone number, (with and without the *), and cannot get it to work. AND, Google's VM doesn't work either.
Do you guys have any input? I need this to work, and I'm having a heck of a time!
Thanks!!!
Anybody know? I still haven't been able to figure out how to fix this, and have been missing many calls while at work, and not getting any voicemails!
Good luck on getting an answer. It would be real nice if some one could start a thread on how to do this.
The answers are buried in THOUSANDS of posts throughout the CM threads.
For those of you all that respond with "just use Google voice"... some of use don't like Google Voice.

I have it working on CM6 Final. I flashed SPRINT_VVM-signed.zip and installed Sprint_VVM.apk and it worked fine for me. I still get the text notification, but the Voicemail app still works like it should. I know that I can block the texts from appearing, but they haven't bothered me enough to do so. I am attaching the files I used, I hope they help.
Sorry couldn't help ya, I had both VVM and GV working before settling on GV.
I simply cannot get Sprint's VVM to work. Nothing worked.
I finally got Google Voicemail to work though! I've been trying to get this to run on my Hero since last year!!!
I like it, and it WORKS... So that's good enough for me!
I've got a rooted DesireZ running the latest nightly CM7s.
Ever since I rooted, I no longer receive Voicemail notifications. I bought the phone from Bell and its running on Virgin Mobile, Calgary.
Does anybody know a way to get these working again?
I have searched and, believe I have the APN set correctly for BELL (owns Virgin Mobile). I used to get text messages as well as VM notifications and now get neither.
Thanks,
Mike
I use Visual Voicemail Plus, previouly known as PhoneFusion. You set it up, and it notifies you, and instead of having to call to check VM, you can DL the messages and listen to them, or read them.
Whatever you do don't get phonefusion!.
Tried google voice??
But if you aren't gettin sms as well either try a different STABLE rom and see if it changes. If not call tech support and make sure everything is set up correct. They can correct everything from their screen regardless of it being rooted or not.

Thanks papaBear,
I'll give it a try and see if it works for me.
I do get SMS, just not an SMS with a voice mail notification that I first used to get. On that note, had along discussion with a virgin tech support person that told me that their system didn't send an SMS with a voice mail notification. He was at a loss to explain why I got them. He figured my phone was sending them...After another month, they stopped and just VM notifications came. I've tried a few different ROMS and nothing seems to work now.
Maybe if someone has the Virgin Mobile APN settings, I could verify them. I've searched and found various incarnations of the settings but they always seem to not have all the fields listed.
Thanks,
Mike
saw this after last post....
Why not PhoneFusion?
I'm on Bell and sometimes after flashing/updating ROM's I have to manually set my voicemail number in call settings to get voicemail/notifications.

I have been having the same issue ever since I upgrade to CM7 over a year ago. There is a open issue about this on google code:
http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2801
Fixed!
After looking at the thread Goozy posted, I found that the update to the radio seemed to be the cure.
I updated the radio as per this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809
I went straight to the latest, Vision_Radio_12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19
and after a reboot, EFS wipe, it now works.
Left Voice message with phone in Airplane mode and VM notification came into status bar and text message appeared.
Hello,
New to the GN, I was wondering if anyone managed to successfully put Sprint's VVM on their GN?
I never noticed it's not available on the Market til now.
Why not just use Google Voice? I hate it!
I can't even tell you how many times that freakin app would just automatically disregard my calls altogether by sending them to VM OR forward me the caller on their 4+ ring....by the time I answered the call (on 'my' first or second ring) they were hanging up. This happened even after it first time I noticed it was going on and fixed the settings online on my pc (cuz it wont let you do it on the app). I had this issue at least 3x so I'm done with that app.
Thnx!
Am I the only person who wants Sprints VVM on my GN?
NO! It's one of the features I miss coming from my EVO & CM7. I had gotten so used to it, never gave it any thought that it wouldn't be on the new phone. I need some VVM app!
I'm also coming from the original Evo.......I always used VVM but actually liked Google Voice, at first, thought it was neat having a back up log of my text messages and calls available online. Unbeknownst to me though I was missing a LOT of calls and picking up late even though it was only ringing once or twice at my end. I use my phone for work so it became a problem, once I linked the problem to Voice, I got rid of it. Mind you, deleting the app doesn't do squat to the settings, so the problem continues til you DELETE the association to your number online.
I never had any problems with Sprint's VVM and I want it back!
I don't know if copying the VVM apk will work and I'd rather not fudge up this new phone so I'm here asking if anyone else has tried it?!?!?
I am a noob to posting but not new to reading this forum nor rooting.
I have an EVO 4G and just flashed AOKP build 33 with GAPPS 3-17.
I have Google Voice installed and have used it with no problems for almost a year now.
Just yesterday when I flashed AOKP build 33 my phone quit receiving text messages. I still receive them on my Google Voice account on my phone and on the computer.
GV is set to have my text messages go through my text client and my text client is set to the default messaging app.
I have tried flashing to recovery nandroids of previous Roms and states of Roms and that did not solve my problem.
I didn't see anyone at the AOKP thread who has had the same problem.
What can I do? Please help.
*apologies for posting this if there is a better place for it to go but after making it through all of the results on my searches about this with no solution I am extremely frustrated and need a solution.
Have you tried uninstalling GV to see if that solves the problem? My phone did the same thing for a while with google voice and I never understood why, but uninstalling GV took care of my issues. You will probably get the text messages a few hours to a few days late, or at least that is what happened to me

So do I need to do more than just uninstall and re-install the app? i.e. the whole thing with un-linking my number and voicemail and everything?
If you uninstall it, I def would suggest doing the full uninstall procedure,..the unlinking, etc.

Giving it a shot now. Thanks.
I'm worried though, without GV I will have no option for text messages.
How's that? What did I miss? You don't have a stock messaging app, or you don't have a sprint phone #?

no dice
I disabled my GV account and un-linked it from my number, restarted and still no incoming texts. Any other ideas?
Make sure somehow you have the latest radios and such maybe? Have someone text you again now that its all undone and see if the new message will go through. Like I said, even after disabling GV, it took 3 days for the lost texts to come through.

I've had someone texting me throughout the process to no avail. I am working on updating the profile and the PRI/PRL but have to load a sense ROM. Is that the same as the radios? Haven't really dealt with radios before.
Any towers being worked on in your area? I've had no incoming texts for 4 weeks now, due to a tower upgrade (LTE). The only way I could get a text was to make a phone call (typically called my voicemail when I wanted to check for texts). Supposedly this is done as of today...
Worth it for the LTE though!

Thanks guys. I ended up just flashing a MikG ROM and it corrected what ever was wrong. Then flashed my AOKP ROM and we are back up and running. Still have no idea what it was.
I'm having same issues, ive been switching back and forth between ROMS to see if i can find one that works. I removed Google voice from my phone, and deactivated it online to see if that fix it. but not working still.
I still only get texts when i make a phone call.
Mik G worked for me as well
Those who are having the problem, are you restoring a backup of GV with data?
Remember, especially with Google apps, there are a lot of updated features for ICS and backups from Gingerbread will not work efficiently. It is best to start from scratch with these apps, especially seeing that Google voice pull most of its data from the cloud... no real need to restore data with it.
Hi all,
I will give you the NOOB disclaimer to start! I have owned the HTC EVO for quite some time and I finally got around to rooting my device. I am running on 2.3.5 (gingerbread) and I just flashed my first rom. I chose the AlterROM Redux v1.0.2 and I love it. I really only have one question about the whole experience so far. Back in my stock days (yesterday, haha) I would have a number on my voicemail icon advising how many messages I had. My notification bar still shows that I receive a voice message, but I have a habitual habit of just clearing my notification bar. My fear is that I am going to forget about voicemails and what not, due to not seeing the number on the icon. I am having the same problem on the email icon. I guess I am just wondering if there is any easy fix to this issue? is this just an issue on specific roms or a universal thing on all custom roms? Thanks in advance. Again, I apologize if this is too noob! I tried searching for this in the forums and I'm not picking the correct search words or something I suppose.
Not sure if you have fixed your issue or not.
But on most roms you can open the dialer program then hit the menu button and click settings.
There should be an option for voicemail there. On sprint I believe its *61. And I'm on boost, I have to change mine to my actual number.
I figured it out. I hadn't installed the Go notification plug in. Once I downloaded that, everything worked just fine. Thank you for the response though!!!!
