After life went to strange places few years back I kind of was out of everything and couldn't care less about phones and community.. I guess getting divorced with 3 kids, loosing a job and few more things were enough to use Nokia 3310 and stop being active or even developing my own kernel. Still missed @morfic , @rascarlo or even @gokhanmoral from time to time.
Fast forward to end of 2016., and I finally got a chance to get a phone, and oh what phone - HTC 10.
My only problem was I still don't have a computer to do all the usual sh*t with phone. Oh well, I started reading and reading.. and wow, found out that Sunshine can gain temproot and do its job without a computer ( thanks @jcase ). That was great, at least something to start with. Wanted nougat badly, but I was saying to myself: I CAN WAIT. Few more days of reading and I found out that @Sneakyghost created a 2.28.401.9 firmware with TWRP. Placed it on my sdcard and bang! there I was, still not attached to computer. Thanks to @Captain_Throwback & @nkk71 i had working recovery (decrypted of course).
So I kept pressing F5 in @LlabTooFeR thread to as I like what HTC did and wanted stockish android nougat, but.. oh well.. decided to go Viper (BLACK ) and to my surprise there was an option in Aroma to stay stockish (thanks @j to the 4n ) and actually liked double press home to turn off screen and Magisk (thanks @topjohnwu ).
Also installed Thermal profile from (I guess) fellow Croatian @ivicask .
Soooo, without even touching a computer I have done everything I wanted on my phone. And I even got 100USD cash back from HTC. So it is time to divide it fairly here .. I I forgot someone let me know

@Sneakyghost has included it in his firmware, so I just placed it on my SD renamed to 2PS6IMG.zip and rebooted to download mode and followed instructions.

Indeed.
Now that this great guy has given me my answer all that is left is for me to pluck up the courage to follow his path.
why I didn't go to some kernel? mostly because there are no WWE sources out yet for nougat, but we'll see soon
also useless benchmark gives me 153k with stock kernel and phone is as fast as it gets (for me at least).. battery life is ok, need few more days to settle.
thanks to all nice words in this thread.

Keep the trouble shooting questions for each specific ROM or Kernel to THEIR threads. So that way Devs can be made aware of any errors to be able to work on, if need be, and for when people are searching for solutions to their problems the answers won't be scattered around. Consolidation makes everything easier!
What's your build? What are you loving about it? Any MOD recommendations?

Viper10 ROM by TeamVenom
ElementalX Kernel
&
A.R.I.S.E
Sound Systems™ audio MOD
I'm a first time rooter (introduced to it by my fiance) and aspiring developer. I am going back to school to get that ball rolling. I'm socially awkward whilst being a social butterfly (once I'm out of my shell). The A.R.I.S.E team and TeamVenom have helped me to come out of that shell here on XDA so I'm ready to get socializing and talk all things root! However, I don't want to blow up their threads with unrelated posts...and so I've created this thread - so let's have at it and share ideas, opinions, and have fun! Remember to keep issue/ questions related to each ROM, Kernel, MOD etc. posted ON THEIR threads! So please include a link to their XDA thread when sharing what you've got.
Be kind and respectful. And have fun!

Mine are
LeeDrOiD10 ROM
either with the build-in
~clumsy~ Kernel
or
ElementalX Kernel
No sound mods as the audio boost of LeeDrOiD is workin' just fine with the build in DACs
Used Viper for a long time and it is a great ROM. In fact I went to LeeDrOiD10 cause the tweaks on Viper10 are just so many, and most of them I've never used at all. On LeeDrOiD there are just a few tweaks, where all those I need and use are present.
Cheers
Only Cool Kids Reply to Their Empty Threads
EDIT: Lol got a post while taking 10 years to write this one...so it doesn't appear as though I was my own first response...but if I wrote like a normal person, I would have been.
TL;DR - Zip below will get rid of red message during boot, REQUIRES S/OFF, if you choose to flash this I'm NOT responsible for bricked phones, this zip file works for US Unlocked HTC 10 phones - but I'll rewrite the files inside to match your CID if you need me to, not originally my work and I don't know who's it is...sorry!
-Rename the zip file 2PS6IMG.zip & place it in the external SD card
-Boot down to download mode and if it's all groovy there will be a message at the bottom outlining that it found the "2PS6IMG" zip file and will tell you to press VolUp to proceed with the flash or VolDwn to continue to the normal download mode screen options
NOTE: if your screen doesn't display that initial message at the bottom and just goes to the normal download mode options then you've named the zip file wrong. Make sure that you didn't end up with 2PS6IMG.zip.zip during the renaming process - it HAS to read 2PS6IMG.zip or download mode will not see it as it is scanning for that name exclusively!
- If you got the message go ahead and hit volume up and, when prompted at the end, hit the power button. If you're phone boots down immediately after hitting the volume up button DON'T FREAK and leave it be. It'll kick back up and finish it's thing.
- Reboot and enjoy! (First boot up may take longer than you're comfortable with, that's normal chill for a moment and it'll all work out)
(First to reply to my own thread, crazy stuff happening here...watch out! )
Never understood why the TL;DR is put at the bottom. I know I write novels...I love words but I feel the TL;DR is more thoughtful to place at the top...so you don't have to wade through the overwhelmingly copious amounts of my words to find out there was a TL;DR option. Always thinking of you  however, surely there exists an individual who not only continues and reads my posts in their entirety, but is as entertained reading it as I am writing it!
.............
Anyway, since this is meant to be a thread in which we share fun rooting tweaks and whatnot, I thought I'd go ahead and add this zip file. If you aren't a fan of the red message during the boot up that appears after you've successfully rooted - I've got your solution! I do have to apologize... I'm not sure who the original creator is. My fiance sent the file to me through Bluetooth and I rewrote a couple lines in the file so it would work with my CID. I tried to find the correct individual or thread to link in order to give them the proper credit, but there were a few posts for it so I'm unsure who it is. Just know I'm not trying to claim this for my own... just sharing the love :victory:
MAKE SURE YOU ARE S/OFF BEFORE DOING THIS! YOU'RE FLASHING THIS ON YOUR OWN ACCORD, I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY SOFTWARE/ HARDWARE FAILINGS
This is for the US Unlocked phones. So if you're not US Unlocked, but you want up in this sexy zip action, let me know and I can rewrite the file for you. The CID just needs to be rewritten to match the one on your phone. As a precaution I also rewrote the "mainver" line. It had the original 1.21.531.1 (T-Mobile's current software number) to the updated 1.80.617.1 (the current software number for US Unlocked). I wanted it all lined up perfectly, just in case, however IDK if you need to rewrite the "mainver" live in that text file my phone is fully functional after the rewrite and flash so I'm confident that I took the right steps. I posted what I've got going on for my custom ROM/ Kernel in the OP, if that's important for you to know. I've got the instructions above in TL;DR - no need to repeat. Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you for the reply! I haven't checked LeeDrOiD10 out personally, but I saw it on my fiances phone when he got uber frustrated at a camera defect post viper update. The V10 ROM update caused our kernel to be temporarily incompatible...so he temporarily ditched V10 and tried LeeDrOiD10.
He was saying the same things as you in regards to fewer customisation's. And hebmade mention of it being a little more user friendly. But, ultimately, he returned to V10
EDIT:@5m4r7ph0n36uru what exactly does the LeeDrOiD10 ROM offer in terms of the sound boost? An equalizer? Or a little more than that. I didn't check that feature out. I didn't know it was one. My other half may have known though. We love the crazy amounts of tweaking you can do with Viper4Android in the A.R.I.S.E. MOD and all their tweak.prop files/ profiles that we can load up!
Being a spectator of LeeDrOiD10 was sufficient enough for me...only because I know myself, and I LOVE having as many options and open doors, in regards to messing around with my phone, as possible. Tis more dangerous waters to tread that way...but that's all the fun! And I'm confident enough in myself to be able to recover from most things. After all XDA has strong support to offer!
Yeah I know and it always has been fun changing nearly every detail in a ROMs behavior as it is possible on Viper10. But in fact I guess I'm maturing from this phase in my live where modding was the one and only, as we'd say in germany.
In fact I'm getting older and less fascinated by all those features. Maybe it'll come a time when I'll again become fascinated by modding and tuning every tiny bit of a ROM, but at the moment I really just need some basics.

when making the thread you have to select from dropdown about what android version you are building so android O is probably not available yet that is why he selected N.
Is RIL working good?
I can help test this ROM if calling, etc is working
How long we can expect a next update? And are you looking forward to supporting this rom in the future?
Thanks for the work.
Volte is not working .
Hello thanks hogger,
There's something called courtesy. When it's really clear that Davide was working on AEX and fixing things, it was a bad move for you to post a build with his sources before he posted his build. He is focusing on quality and trying to fix all major bugs before releasing instead of giving people half baked stuff. So I'd suggest you get this thread closed and not pull such stuff in the future.
Regards,
Another person who was able to boot oreo but is waiting for Davide to release his stuff first
So far, loving the ROM. I've been waiting for this ROM for a long time now. And here are few things
Cons:
VoLTE not working
Recents tiles are inverted
Camera doesn't work as expected.
Heating can be expected.
Pros:
Smooth for an initial build
Android O, period
Its simple and clean.
Hi sir,
Your work is amazing, i can't even imagine how you managed to fork my great and better than you fellow friend Davide's device trees and compiled the rom.
Truly amazing sir.
I admire your work, I still can't think how much brains would it be needed for making an unofficial thread even when Davide(my great and better than you fellow friend) didn't gave a word of quitting the AospExtended.
You are truly awesome and Davide's(my great and better than you fellow friend) work will not be as good as yours i think.
Thanks a lot for your true hardwork rather than Davide's(my great and better than you fellow friend) simple bug fixing work.
Thanks again.
I wanna donate you rather than donating hard working Davide(my great and better than you fellow friend)

As stated above that's the message I receive after the latest update to lineage. I'm running the leeco le pro 3
Check out the other areas discussing the Lineage April fools "joke." You might be a victim of THAT. If this is an official build and not the first one on the device, you could think about trying a (dirty) re-flash of the last update from March. NO guarantees but it fixed my LOS devices after the 01 April "update." There was also a build.prop fix mentioned in the other posts but I was happy with the re-flash. Good Luck.

I don't have this device but, the following Thread Post (from the Official LineageOS thread for your device) is a fix someone had found in response to this same question.

Would have been funnier if it had actually been on April 1st, instead of the build for 4/5.
Sorry for not replying sooner everyone I didn't even consider the message being part of April fool's. Because as someone above already said it was past April Fool's

And is anyone holding a gun FORCING the developers to make ROMS? They do because they want, like or whatever other reason. Because their work is free for us it doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. What will be the next one, muting your phone when making calls? Oh, yeah, these guys are sooo cool!
I agree with 中本哲史: LineageOS team is a bunch of idiots.

Open Terminal under the advanced tap 3. Type the following "setprop persist.lineage.nofool true" in the terminal 4. Reboot the phone and voila

Yup. You hit on one of the three. he other two are to edit build.prop or just flash the previous build and wait a few hours (at this point) for the updates that get rid of it to begin. It wasn't the brightest thing I've ever seen done, but the people in a hurry to tar and feather people over it are just as out of line as the poor excuse for a joke was.
After a month of waiting for the unlock code and wishing anal and testicular cancer on Xiaomi CEO and senior management, I'll finally (hopefully) get it in 2 days.
It's 6GB/128GB and ROM version is 9.6.11.0.OEDCNFD (Chinese ROM, bought through a friend in China who shipped it). I have many questions, and hoping on some kind strangers for help.
- Should I be worried about anti-rollback and hard-brick after unlocking, based on my ROM version?
- What's the best way to ensure I don't get hard-brick?
- I want to switch to Treble based ROM and leave miui-bs - are there any reasons to not do so or wait (like some hardware doesn't work, camera quality poor, bad battery life, no volte etc)
- What's the safest/surest guide to install TWRP, vanilla android based custom ROM, Magisk etc?
If it wasn't obvious, the Anti-Rollback, hard-bricking has me scared sh!tless, and the month long wait (after the wait for phone release, availability, and shipment) has me on edge. This might very well be my last Xiaomi phone (because of their policies), but I don't want to brick it and let all this endless wait be for nothing /rantover

Not ARB, so there's no way I'd get bricked once I bootloader unlock? that's a huge relief if that's true!
Thank you kind sir for that guide, it's very helpful.
Have you tried Treble based ROMs? I know it's a personal preference over MIUI, but would you consider them stable and comparable to 8.8.9 EU?

You won't get bricked. You are most welcome. Everyone in this forum is quite helpful, and I've learned a lot from their informative posts as well.
Yes, I've tried AICP treble rom. No treble rom is ready yet for stable use because they all have the same problems that do not function correctly: auto brightness/brightness control, bluetooth media/bluetooth calls, quick charging, VoLTE, and mono speaker instead of stereo speakers.

Ah okay, so no Treble for now. I'll wait for things to get stable. The Max in the phone's name so far has meant 'Maximum Wait'.
I'll follow your guide and install 8.8.9 EU.
From your guide I understand it's only optional, but what's the advantage of 'Changing file system from ext4 to f2fs'?

Ah okay, so no Treble for now. I'll wait for things to get stable. The Max in the phone's name so far has meant 'Maximum Wait'.
I'll follow your guide and install 8.8.9 EU.
From your guide I understand it's only optional, but what's the advantage of 'Changing file system from ext4 to f2fs'?

Well, f2fs is the latest/fastest file system, supposedly. Also, there are less chances of corruption/data problems? I believe that's what i read in regards to it and why people were switching over to that when they had issues with their user data; they were having to format their user data and start fresh....but don't quote me on it. I will let someone with more knowledge on this answer you and others in detail. You can leave it for now. My file system is default ext4.
If you run into any hiccups, feel free to PM me, and I'll guide you as best as I can. :highfive:

Okay, I did some reading:
https://medium.com/thecyberfibre/f2fs-versus-ext4-our-take-on-the-ongoing-battle-c0324f46d040
https://www.xda-developers.com/f2fs-why-file-systems-matter-interview-stan-dmitriev-tuxera/
And I'm leaning towards sticking with ext4, to side with stability over speed.
Thank you for all the help, and the offer to PM you if I get stuck - I'll try to not bother you too much, I promise lol

Haha, no worries, buddy. My pleasure. :highfive:
here is link : http://bigota.d.miui.com/9.10.23/miui_MI8SE_9.10.23_6d4456e604_10.0.zip
Thanks for the link.
Just a FYI, this makes the device SAR (system-as-root), so if anyone wants to flash GSI afterwards, use "AB" images instead of "A-only" that we've been using. I've booted PHH's Q just fine (whitelist needed, see here).
Thanks, could you share the download page itself?
Any fastboot link for 9.10.23?
@AndyYan
These past few days I've been trying to boot the Q GSI on this phone. I've also been keeping an eye on the Telegram GSI channel and there are many other users trying to do the same thing. I think though that you're the only one that got it boot, we're all having the same problem where it's stuck at the mi splash screen and keeps rebooting. I think it'd be really appreciated and a great help to the community if you started a thread with a guide on how to install it. Although, I suspect you're pretty busy so if you don't feel like creating a thread please consider sharing the steps you've followed and I'm pretty sure when one of us gets it to work we'll take it up.
Thanks.

I'd love to, but unfortunately I actually hit the same problem as you described on all subsequent boots, i.e. I only managed to get it properly booting once. Very disappointing isn't it...
I also had my 8SE sold just a few days ago, so I couldn't do any further tests on it either.
Sorry if what I said gave you false hopes... I wish y'all could get it to boot eventually. After all, Pie GSIs run quite nicely on the device.
