Can´t flash RUU´s / Can´t restore TWRP Backups - HTC 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hey guys, I want to return completely to stock on my htc 10 to take the 7.0 OTA, but i always get errors when running RUU´s, and i can´t flash anything/restore anything in TWRP because i can´t mount system.
I´m on HTC 10 version 1.95.401.3 Stock Rom with CID: HTC_034.
I cant find any RUU`s for this version or higher, expet the US version but this doesnt work.
Would be nice if anyone knows a solution to this.
Regards, Ohs

Believe if S-ON, then same or higher version is needed.

I can't find one either. Don't think there is one that is known.
From the small research I've done, unfortunately, your options are to wait it out (maybe will be Android N RUU?)
or S-OFF your device.

Hmm ok thanks anyway

There is no ota even out for WWE devices anyway. Just wait for it to be released before trying to go back to stock... which isnt really needed anyway.

Did you try to flash the file I posted by issuing a fastboot command?

I know, that's why I am asking. But I believe the SD card method will work since he has a lower version than the ruu-zip

Already wiped, installed stock roms, stock kernels, stock boots.
Tried to use RUU default, one that i used before, but now i can't run it again.
when try to execute RUU i got ERROR[140]: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR.
Someone can help ?
That error seems to tell you what the problem is.
One presumes the solution is to flash a stock bootloader.
Did any ota? Try to get a ruu for the correct version of your bootloader
Cheers, R

I have had this problem, after a ota update, while I had the battery charger plugged.
To resolve the problem, I did needed, to flash a ruu, that fits to my hboot-version.
In my case the hboot still had been 0.43 and I did needed the ruu 1.26.xxx.x

What is ur current hboot-version?
I think, it's still 0.43?
If yes, then u need to download the o2 ruu, in Version 1.26.207.2 and install it.

Yes. Hboot is 0.43. A downgrade is impossible. True?
But o2-germany released yesterday a OTA Firmware Upgrade. The Problem is solved since the Update.

Flash kitkat ruu to stock lollipop

Can I flash through a computer an a ruu to my stock lollipop m8? I've done this before but with an s-off mobile.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Depends what ruu you need and if it's available. The given info is not enough to conclude if it's possible at all.
Post the outcome of :
Fastboot getvar all
Delete the IMEI and SERIAL before posting the list !

Nothing is for sure, can't give any good advice. Look up how to use fastboot commands. They are basically the rescue in situations when it goes wrong. There are many guides. Even via google there is lots to find

What is the name of the .exe you are trying to run?
If you are trying to setup fastboot/adb, try typing "simple adb" into the XDA site search, and you will get a few threads beginner tutorial threads containing easy, simple fastboot/adb installers.
But if the original question is "can you install a KitKat RUU on a stock Lollipop phone" the answer is NO unless you are s-off. Further, the RUU needs to be for your CID.

New firmware flash

Hi, currently have a HTC one M9, which is connected to Telstra in australia (TELST001 cid), and have rooted and installed TWRP and all on it. Also has S-OFF. How do I flash a new stock firmware image (currently running 5.0.2)? Can't seem to find any Telstra roms online, and obviously won't be able to go through OTA-am I able to use a stock rom made for a different country? Thanks
Quick question: How did you achieve S-OFF ?

Return to stock for warranty from 2.28.401.9?

I am having some problems with the touch screen and I need to return my phone back for repairs.
I am running 2.28.401.9, which I updated to using a RUU.zip file and then I flashed TWRP 3.0.3-0_UNOFFICIAL and then viper 4.4.0.
As far as I understand, 2.28.401.9 is not official.
My question is, if I flash stock recovery, than re-flash the RUU to go back to stock - will this be OK for a warranty pass? Is it OK having a non-official build on a phone?
You 'd better downgrade to 1.90.401.x and then take the OTA up to 1.95.401.x
What matters the most now is having S-ON. From what I 've heard S-OFF is not acceptable anymore in service centers.

Safest way is to s-off then flash official older ruu.
There is a way to downgrade without s-off but requires issuing a command and even the slightest mistype will brick your device

I just got the sunshine app paid - backing up my stuff before s-offing.
so, after I get it s-off, do I just need to flash a officially released ruu.zip? are there any other things I need to do to downgrade before this?

Just to make sure your CID and MID match the ruu. If you never converted the US unlocked you shouldnt be worrying about that

When you run sunshine to gain s-off it will ask you whether you want LOCKED S-OFF or UNLOCKED S-OFF. Just choose locked
