Syncing over power saver option works for me i never mentioned any bug

Do you recognize any sync problems in power saving mode with the weather widget?

I've had syncing problems with pretty much everything. I'd get notifications from all apps including messaging and gmail a little late or only when I open the app myself with the power saving mode on. The stock weather clock won't work on apex launcher either, but it works fine using the sense launcher. I just ended up downloading something that looks similar. Turning off power saving mode made all the syncing problems go away. I get all my notifications immediately like usual. My battery life seems to be better though, so I don't think I even need to leave the power saving mode on anymore. I've gone the past few days perfectly fine without it. I didn't look into it too much, but I think it's some overly aggressive power saving methods where it's either delaying the sync, or just completely turning off all background data with it on.

On my side I've had Gmail sync problems (delayed messages, some only coming in when I open the app) since I updated, and I don't use Power Saver.
Everything else is amazing though.

is 1080p video recording solved?

Just use a different charger mate

How about useless things, like emoji. Did HTC finally update their set or at least just go with just Google styled emoji? I hate how it's a mixed bag, totally different styles. HTC is getting lazy, they may as well just remove Sense and deliver a clean Android look, with the Blinkfeed as the only customization. (Kind of like what Motorola's done)

I'm noticing a significant decrease in WiFi speed. I am getting between 18 and 23 mbps on all other devices, but only 7 or 8 mbps on my HTC 10 with nougat. Anyone else experiencing this? Possibly an error in flashing it?
Also as stated above, delays in receiving notifications, mostly from gmail.
Otherwise, very smooth. Increased notification panel options, but not more than N-ify or gravity box with exposed on MM.
UPDATE: Seems it may have been the Open Signal app slowing my WiFi connection. After force stopping it. I'm at 22 mbps again.

Android OS and Media using KILLING the battery life

Ok so I bought this phone on Monday. The very first day it gave me a mammoth battery life. I mean a ridiculous OST of 5h 45m 9s and still 7% juice left (screenshots attached in 2nd post).
And then the very next day issues started. First the Android OS... I charged my phone 100% and slept. Woke up and saw it at around 61%.. Shocked and unhappy. Googled a bit and by Noon I stopped a lot of Samsung **** going on at the back. Android OS became normal but MEDIA started to show its baddd side..
And just try to see in the screenshots, it shows the WIFI was on all time/all the time. However I never turned it on. It was off all night.
Screenshots are attached below. Would love some help/guidance here.
And one more thing. All of a sudden the Lock Screen's funky wallpaper has changed into a blue screen wallpaper that has some weird shortcuts ! Why is it happening. Restating the device brings back the same funky paint color wallpaper but then within minutes its back to the same sh*t.
First day usage SCs
do you have any screenshot(s) of the blue screen wallpaper with the weird shortcuts? I'm not experiencing any issues like this.
Don't you think you've touched it unconsciously while you're asleep with parts of your body that toggled the wifi and other stuff?
Try a factory reset

Oh factory reset sucks lol. By the way, I was reading from somewhere (android central forum i think) that to kill Android OS frome ating up all battery, install some CLEAR RAM app to clear your RAM.. which I did. And yesternight I figured out that this clear ram app changed my lockscreen itself..without asking me. So i deleted. Also, I deleted everything on SD Card and removed it. Now I dont know whats keeping the Android OS and MEDIA up all the time. The apps I have installed so far are:
skype, whatsapp, viber, sacebook and temple run. They were installed from day 1 so if they are creating problems, why didnt they create any impact on Day 1? And these are pretty normal apps which I dont think should create any problem.
Plus, wifi always on issue is resolved to by unchecking some option in wifi menu.

first l sympatise with you. There is no problem on Unrooted phone that factory reset cannot Solve except it is factory fault issue, but this is not factory Cos it was ok on day 1.
Your instant messager like Skype and BBM are mainly the applications that hog battery.
Ensure you did not restrict background processes in Developers option.
Ensure your wifi 'and GPS are off when you don't need them.
Don't install any process killer.
Stop auto update
put your phone in battery saving mode.
check to see If there is downloading process going on at background
Also see if there is live streaming (MEDIA SERVER) going on sites you visited like Youtube.
check the running processes in application manager in setting and check if any is constantly RESTARTING. Look for a way to stop such .
Above all try to wait for the research l did on BATTERY POWER AND DATA MANAGEMENT which I will post soon.
Good Luck

[Q] Why is my HTC One M8 stuttering?

I have an htc one m8 with android 5.0.1 (lollipop). I am experiencing some stuttering issues. For example, in the app drawer when I scroll up and down for a certain period of time slowly (like for a 1 minute or so), there will be a glitch/stutter where the scroll quickly and automatically goes to next page (it is almost like the app drawer just blinked and refreshed but it shouldn't be doing that right?). After that stutter/glitch then no more glitches/stutters occur.
It usually happens when my cell signal is weak
OR
If i turn ON the cell radio or WIFI after being exiting airplane mode, the phone starts connecting to the wifi or cell signal and a stutter in the app drawer occurs.
But the scrolling everywhere else is fine (ex.scrolling in homescreen pages). There are no glitches, stutters etc. anywhere except for in the app drawer.
So is it doing that since the phone is trying to connect to the wifi/cell radio and causes the stutter?
I suspect that many users will not have experienced this issue even if it exists because not everybody would be focusing so much time scrolling in the app drawer like I do for no apparent reason anyway lol  . I just wanted to know if it is normal on every htc one m8 or not.
Let me know if I am not being clear enough, thanks!

So still the same? Some heavy usage must be happening from an app maybe. Check under Power : Battery Usage.
Some app may be slowing down the CPU performance.
Try High Performance mode under Developer options.

all seems ok under the battery usage. but doesn't the high performance mode cause huge battery drain and is not recommended?
also, this isn't something that happens all the time, just when i keep scrolling a lot in the app drawer after i turn on wifi, the stutter occurs.
are you sure this isn't normal?

the stutter still happens in high performance mode after i turn off and then turn on wifi again
maybe you could try this:
first turn off wifi and data, and then turn only wifi on and then open the app drawer and scroll slowly back and forth for a few a pages about for like 30 to 60 seconds. wifi again

Tried it. No sttuter. But don't worry about it, maybe you have auto connect with saved WI-FI networks and stutter just when the device locks into a network.
I have auto connect and no sttuter. Just ignore it, it's a minor ''issue''

Battery life tips/tweaks to stop battery drain

When I first got the Note 5 last week, I noticed the battery life wasn't so great. After making some tweaks I've noticed that 1) Android system isn't the number one thing eating up my battery 2) Cell standby isn't consuming more battery than my screen anymore and 3) Screen is the number one thing consuming battery and I'm getting fantastic screen on time. The first attached pic shows stats from my phone being off the charger for almost 8 hours and I was connected to my wireless earbuds via bluetooth and streaming pandora for almost 4 hours while traveling to and from the gym and during my workout (all over the network, no wifi but when I'm home or in the office, I'm always on wifi) plus I had about 1 1/2 hours of SOT. The Second pic is day 2 with 1 day and 2 hours of use with 37% still left and 3 hours of SOT. Also, I have Google Now running, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter constantly running and I maybe lose 1% battery life every hour or longer when I'm not using the phone.. I'd like to thank @rlsroufe for his debloat list because that was a big starting point.. Here's what I did:
-Disable AT&T/Samsung Bloat (Package Disabler Pro)
-Disable S Finder (Package Disabler Pro)
-Turn off motion Gestures
-Turn off S voice
-Turn off or decrease vibrations
-Turn off Google Location History (Huge battery drain, causes play service and/or Android system to go nuts)
-Turn off Android Device manager (Lock Screen and Security —> Device Admin)(Also causes play service drain)
-Disable Unnecessary Sync Service
-If you use Adguard, turn it off when you don't actually need it and just flip the switch when you do
-Turn off S pen Alerts, pen detection, and S pen sound and vibration (will still work exactly the same)
-Turn off Enhance4GLTE (basically voice over LTE, makes cell standby consume a lot of battery)
-Turn off 'Always allow scanning' under advanced wifi settings (Allows apps to serach for Wifi even when wifi is off)
Reboot and enjoy..

I think it was sarcasm.
I had posted this in another thread, but using package disabler to disable "s-finder" seemed to have made a large difference in battery for me. I (personally) usually keep location services and android device manager active, however.
One thing common with many android phones is that for the first couple of days after you first get the phone (or factory reset it), location services tends to draw more power when compared to after you've had it a while. I have nothing to confirm this (and I've been too lazy to try and verify it), but I suspect that location services keeps a cache of cell phone tower locations... so the drain would be higher while its still building up that cache.
Yeah I feel like disabling S finder helped as well.. I consider that samsung bloat as well but I'll add that to the list, thanks. I keep location service on as well but I turn off location history which is what I think was causing stuff to go nuts and def noticed a difference right away. Device manager I don't really use because I noticed if you factory reset your phone via the phone recovery, you still have to sign into your google account before you can do anything with it so that's nice.
Yeah that sounds like a logical theory and could very well be what was draining battery. But literally 2 hours after turning off Enhance4gLTE, cell standby dropped and noticed battery life was a lot better. There's been a few threads on that as well as VoLTE (tmo equivalent) that suggest that's the issue for drain as well.

Can you share your disabled list in Package Disabler Pro please?
Got this via @rlsroufe and @mcdavid
FYI - There's an Extreme (left column) and Basic (right column), I just went with the Basic one. Green Means I left it alone, Orange means I disabled it and Yellow means you can but don't have to. This is for the Tmo variant so some things wont be on this list so I just went one by one and did it just by typing in the last word of the application. Anything that I actually used I left alone but you can mix and match if you want and see what works best for you.

Okay.. So Samsung made this SUPER ambiguous.. But the "Disable Pen Detection" setting.. Are you saying that that toggle needs to be ON or OFF? What does the setting do anyways? I can't understand Samsung's wording in the settings..
Lol yeah, there was a big discussion in anther thread about that. Putting it in the 'Off' position turns it off which is what you want.. I believe it just turns off the feature when you walk away from your s pen and it warns you.. I could be wrong tho but since doing it, nothing has changed with the S pen and it all works the same exact way when I pull the s pen out

Haha, I think there's a setting for what you described (other than pen detection) but have you noticed the battery life is better when that setting is turned off? Or is it not noticeable?
I'm not 100% sure because I did everything pretty much at once. It does say it might help save battery so that was enough for me. Everything has been working great so far tho, finished charging my phone around 12 today, left it for 2 1/2 hours and didn't lose a percent even tho FB, Email, App update and Text messages were coming in so I think it's a combination of everything

So what is the verdict? Off or on?
LOL says in my settings for this "turning off pen detection when the pen is attached can extend battery life".
So i turned mine OFF
My secret is leaving it charging all day, all night, all day etc. That's the only way.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using XDA Free mobile app
Based on rlsroufe's SQL dump, the option should be ON which disables pen detection.
When you pull the pen out and the phone no longer 'sees' it, it uses the motion detector to see if you are walking away. If you go like 12 steps you get an alert.
Turning this option ON, disables this detection when the pen is attached to the phone.
Hey @oka1 can you please close this thread or disable the comments. I will no longer be supporting it because I no longer have this phone. Thank you

3. no random wallpaper option for this phone. dont want to use a third party app.
4. not easy to set custom sound options for individual apps
will list more as i find them
Anyone found any others?
The widgets were frozen once. I needed to change the screen resolution to bring it back to life.
Favorites contacts eratic when sorting, sort will not always stick, but it was the same with previous EMUI on my Mate 9.
For the auto brightness I think AI and energie saver do that on purpose. Got the same.
I got random wallpaper on lock screen.
Really, I love this phone!

How is number 3 and 4 bugs?

I'm finding that my accessibility services keep getting turned off. I turn on services like Lastpass Autofill and Greenify automated hibernation, but they turn themselves off sometime later for no reason.
For the auto brightness reset issue, it always happen to me after a software update, but not at random
I'm also trying to play Drastic DS Emulator with Google Drive cloud sync to backup my saves, but the sync function is broken on this phone. It says nothing needs to be synced, when I upload it sends a 0 Byte file to my drive. EDIT: I think I fixed the problem, my WiFi was too slow. After deleting the data on Drive and reuploading the save file it worked
4 notification option is a lot harder to set due to Android9. My Note9 on Android9 is quite similar.

You can fix the brightness issue with adb removing the power genius application, this also fixed the auto dimming in manual mode. It also fixed an issue with background colour being a little gradient on a few apps.
I did this with My mate 20 Pro
ADB shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.huawei.powergenie

Thanks, what are the negative effects on battery life, fast charging power saver or others? What exactly does power genius do?
Did you root your?

Non root, the only thing that's missing is the software usage in battery usage, the hardware usage is there. But you can see the app usage from the app settings.
I have noticed that the phone stays in optimised performance, I was having a issue with background on Huawei video and YouTube where after playing a video it was gradiented shades of the colour, this is fixed now. Also Google photos used to take a second to load in but now they load straight up.
I get about 8.5 to 9 hr screen on time that was with YouTube and Facebook which drains the battery a bit.
It's always possible to restore the genie app with a hard reset. The power genie is a supposed to help battery but is more annoying than anything though.

I also noticed small bug in the short weekend I had the device: I have the option to turn on the screen at each notification (because of the pretty small notification LED). On 2 occasions I had the screen turn on with a notification, then turn off briefly and turn back on with a black background and just the digital clock. I have the screensaver deactivated and pressing the unlock button fixes the bug.
I have issues with continuously disconnecting my Xiaomi Amazfit Bip smartwatch. I had LG G6 and never had this kind of issue. I tried to set Auto-launch , Secondary-launch and Run in background options for Mi Fit app on but to no avail. This makes my smartwatch half useless.
Got a Mi Fit 3 band and no issues here

I just received my Mate 20 Lite and I'm having the same problem with my Samsung Gear S3 randomly disconnecting from the phone - which is annoying for so many reasons, not least because I am used to the watch unlocking my Galaxy S7.
I'm guessing that the BT is simply timing out to save battery but is there anyone who can confirm this and also is there a way to fix it?

system using high amount of battery

Hi alll,
Been a while since I've been on the forums but I'm having a problem with my new note 10, SD proc, the Android system is using tons of battery and my standby drain is pretty bad.
Will just disabling background usage for the Android system fix my issue or does anyone recommend anything else? I've searched around but haven't seen anything that has helped me.
I've gone through every setting , and I'm no stranger to Android and wake locks.
Any help or input greatly appreciated
The picture shows 11+ of standby time, which is not utterly bad, ok google, and bixby eat battery all the time just by listenning, it depends also what other stuff you have enabled, all nice features take a toll, you should start analyzing what yo use/need and what you clearly don't, to turn it off or disable it, there are also the settings for optimizing batt use, background run, always sleeping, etc

It will literally drain 20 to 30 percent through out my work day while in my pocket though..that's on top of my normal use for basic calls and texts until I get home. Today I've drained 30 percent and have made it through about 8 hours with very minimal use.
I tried switching from global to lte/ CDMA also and that didn't seem to help. I've disabled background use of the Android system and it hasn't slowed down any either.
The LG v35 I just came from, same processor I believe or just one gen behind, would not do this and required no fiddling. It just worked. System should never use that much while on stand by even if Google assistant is in use. I used it on the LG and again it didn't have issues like this.
I agree with OP, something is draining battery very badly. The phone is on for about 12hrs, with SOT of about 2hrs and yet you don't see any slowdown with battery drain at all, when phone was not used for about 10 hours. it's almost straight line, like it was running nonstop for 12 hours. I've seen my phone on standby using as little as 1% for every 3 hours, so it would almost show horizontal line, during that time, but then next day it could be 1% per hour and I have a problem identify which app is doing it. What we need is wake lock detector, but the one I tried won't work without root. I think disabling Bixby is a good start (if OP doesn't use it), but without proper tools (root), it comes down to trial and error.
BTW right now my phone is on for 14 hrs, SOT is 1hr40min and my battery is at 80%. My graph shows clearly phone was on stby for about 7 hrs, then steep dive when used and back to flat line on stby and I know it can do better than that.

Yeah I'm not using bixby, I am using Google assistant so I can yell at her to turn my lights on and off.
As far as I can see, bixby is disabled too
for a $1,099 USD phone, I would expect more without having to modify much, with CCSWE app, deactivating many bixby apps I gained some autonomy
P.D. no defiendas lo indefendible paisano.....
It looks like it could be the launcher, says it's disabled though? Good ole Android.

If you don't use Bixby then you should disable all these Bixby services or it will keep running in the background regardless.
And disable bixby in the launcher too.

The thing is, not everybody is having the same issues, it is highly dependent on how settings and apps are present, I mean, this "problems" are non inherent to the device

Thank you, I'll check that out. For now I'm switching to Evie launcher and I'll see if that makes a difference, tomorrow will be the test!

It shows disabled and yet you have Force Close option, so it's currently running and this could be a problem, partially it is disabled and partially it's running and that may cause endless loops and high battery usage.
I previously had google assistant on at all times listening for my voice. Love the feature but noticed it drained my battery significantly.
So I turned the voice wake off and now simply use the home key (hold to activate assistant). Besides having it on before it was annoying because I have google assistants at home (nest hub) and whenever I would say hey google I would get both phone and hub to wake.
Update,
I dug more and cdfs mode launcher seems to be attached to the Samsung launcher and the Android system
I have the launchers disabled, Android system can't be disabled obviously, but I disabled background usage
Using Evie I can already see a difference, but I can't be sure until a trial run tomorrow at work
I'll keep y'all posted, and I'll take any other recommendations lol

I do not use Bixby however I have a Bixby button remapper in order to work for launching Google assistant. If I disable all of those packages using ccswe will I still be able to use the remapper? the app I'm using for remapping is called side actions
Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, i use CCSWE App Manager for disabling Bixby completely. No root is required. There are some other Apps. which can also be used.
Just search, there are threads on this.

Strange, I can't find that package anywhere on my phone and I have no idea about what's its purpose.
