I'm trying to install MM on my T807P. I have previously installed TWRP, and now I can't update OTA. I don't have a Windows machine to install ODIN from. Isn't the point of TWRP so that I can install images? Then why do I get an install error when I select T807PVPU1CPI1_SPT1CPI1_SPR_Sprint_USA_6.0.1.zip ?
When I tried to unzip it from TWRP shell, to inspect, I get error zip flag 1 and 8 are unsupported. Then I had a look on my desktop.

No you can't install stock firmware with twrp. You need flashfire for that.

Ok, I choose to flash from zip. MD5 verified. Then in partition menu I see the first three options {primary bl, secoundary bl, secondary bl ap} all greyed out. Then {boot, recovery, system, cache} all checked. However {Modem Firmware, Firmware, TrustZone, DBI/SDI} all (protected partition) are unchecked.
Should I leave them unchecked?

You should select 'flash firmware package'
Either way I get the same partition menu.

Still haven't hit the red button yet. Think maybe I should chose all and in the worst case have to finagle a Windows machine to use ODIN to reflash. Is that reasonable?

Just select all you can, they will either flash or they won't.
In my experience they flash fine.
Thanks @ashyx ! I was also able to install google phone 2.5.11 rc 8 with MM, but still can't make calls. It would be interesting to debug the application or get logging messages. I wonder if alogcat would provide this.

Hi all
I'm am writing this because I have an issue which I can't seem to resolve on my own, my galaxy nexus, after 2 months of faithful flashes and service, suddenly wont start up anymore.
a bit of a prelude: my data connection was on and I was surfing a bit, I was done, put the phone in my pocket.. then suddenly after 5 or so minutes I felt a vibrate. When I took my phone out, it seemed to be rebooting. but it just kept on the initial screen of the boot process for like 5 minutes of longer (the image with google and a unlocked padloc at the bottem)
In this case, maybe I'll try and wipe the cache and so on, then I realised I couldn't boot into recovery mode, I still saw the icon of rom manager, but couldn't get further. (no options etc)
in that case I figured, lets just remove the battery for a bit and see what happens, so I did, after and hour of 2 I put it back in, still didn't get past the google bootscreen, still couldn't acces recovery...
although, the bootloader seemed to be working, I can access that part, can select the different boot options (to no avail)
so I tought, lets just reflash a recovery from the stickied thread through fastboot..
sadly no dice, when attempting to do this I get
Code:
G:\android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>fastboot.exe flash boot yakju-jro0
3c\image-yakju-jro03c\boot.img
sending 'boot' (4366 KB)... OKAY [ 0.786s]
writing 'boot'... FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
finished. total time: 0.814s
and the bootloader screen comes all jittery (horizontal ghosting kind of) pics to follow
that's with each command I use in fastboot mode, only
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
works like described.
grave mistake I did while in bootloader, tried to flash a bootloader in fastboot mode, the device wouldn't even turn on whatever I did...
luckely, omapflash resurrected my phone so now I still have acces to bootloader and download mode
tried to access download mode, while it works, and I get odin to recognize the device, I get the same screen after reaching a certain point in odin
Code:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/003> Initialzation..
<ID:0/003> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/003> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/003> boot.img
<ID:0/003> NAND Write Start!!
at that point I can only disconnect my phone...
so now I'm heading home, to my spot where I know the drivers are working (because I used it to flash different recoveries and upgrade to jb) and hope for the best.
tl;dr
phone went into a bootloop
tried to access recovery which didn't load
tried fastboot to flash recovery, jittery screen
fastboot bootloader, killed my phone completely
omapflash resurrected my phone
ODIN mode, download mode accessible, stuck on NAND Write Start!!, same jittery
do any of you have something to add, something I didn't think of doing?
going to add pics of the jittery screen when I arrive home, also keeping you guys updated on the development of things.
EDIT: got the pictures

I just sent my nexus to the shop where I bought it, they'll send it to a repair firm of samsung to fix it
they filed it under warrenty, so I'll just have to wait and see
no one else experienced this? strikes me odd
got my phone back from the repair center
they swapped the motherboard because that was the issue.
Can anyone tell me if a custom rom or kernel can cause this?
That sounds like a hardware problem not software.
Looked like the gpu was going out on the old motherboard.
I downloaded the official 4.3 stock file from here to my phone. Unfortunately, I won't have access to a PC for the rest of the weekend. Is there a way to flash this? I have CWM and my GN is on 4.2 and rooted (I'm looking to return to stock and unroot during the 4.3 upgrade). CWM needs zip files of course, not tar files. I wish I could accept the OTA but because of root, it won't install.
[Edit]: Disregard this! Was able to use a PC. See post #5.

I would recommend to install the Android revolution ROM. It is almost the same as stock.

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind. However, I want to return to 100% stock so I can craigslist it.
I'm not sure if Mobile Odin or Flashify from the Play Store would work for flashing factory images. Maybe Mobile Odin would. Someone with a bit more knowledge about that will hopefully chime in for you. Unfortunately the easiest way is with fastboot from a computer.
Thanks all. I got home early tonight and was able to use my PC. I can now happily report that my phone is now upgraded from rooted 4.2 to stock 4.3, the bootloader is locked, unrooted, and fully stock now.
Here's the method I used in case anyone else is interested:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#takju
1. Download 4.3 JWR66Y for Galaxy Nexus maguro takju (with Google Wallet)
2. Unzip tgz file to folder with fastboot.exe
3. Unzip zip "image" zip file inside the newly created folder
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
Example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot flash system takju-jwr66y-11-17-2013\system.img
(The numbers correspond to the steps in the above thread)
1. fastboot devices
5. fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-maguro-primemd04.img
6. fastboot reboot-bootloader
7. fastboot flash radio radio-maguro-i9250xxlj1.img
8. fastboot reboot-bootloader
9. fastboot flash system system.img
10. fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
11. fastboot flash boot boot.img
12. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
13. fastboot erase cache
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/12/1...the-bootloader-and-return-to-a-factory-state/
1. fastboot reboot-bootloader
2. fastboot oem lock
3. Done! Be patient as rebooting will take much longer than usual.

Hi all,
I have a stock firmware GTN7100 Failing to boot, recovery mode has :
==> E: Failed to mount /cache, /data, /system, /cache/recovery, etc..
==> Download mode is accessible.
I have tried wiping cache partition, nothing.
Before wiping factory reset or flashing Odin, is there a way to recover the data?
Thanks,
You could try flashing TWRP, booting into TWRP, mounting the data partition, and pulling off the data.
You could also use Odin to flash the same ROM but don't wipe data, only cache after flashing.

EDIT: I will try to flash it to the same firmware it has (so I can retrieve the data), how can I check the firmware code exactly?
All I am getting is : kot49h.n7100xxufnl1 (which has no country code)
EDIT2: ADB Sideload is available through Recovery Mode, can I use it to install TWRP for example?
If you can sideload, you could try to sideload the stock ROM.
Are you using the original Samsung USB cable?

I'm using a Belkin one, should be proper right? Not an aftermarket Chinese one I mean.
Which version should I sideload? (How do I check which country the firmware is in?)
I don't want to lose the data (if it is possible to recover)
Just tried through ADB, failed as well with this:

I have found that not all USB cables will work with Odin.
You tried older and newer tar versions of TWRP for the n7100?
You may have no choice but to flash any nl1 firmware for the n7100 unless you know the country code.

I have tried flashing the firmware using ADB Sideload and got the results in the pictures above.
ADB won't always work so you will have to try Odin for a full firmware flash.

Tried the following:
- Odin 3.12 with AP and No Repartition
- Odin 3.12 with AP and Repartition
- Reformat data/factory settings in Android Recovery mode
All failed, seems it is a hardware issue, is there a way to fix the hardware part but recover the data? Or is it all on one chip?
what's twrp ? and how to flash something ? and what's odin? besides i forgot the pin anyone can help ? tyvm in advance
After all these install failures, it looks like the internal memory chip is defective which means the data cannot be retrieved. The data, ROM, etc. are on the same internal memory chip, just stored in various partitions.
Google TWRP and Odin to learn more about them.
Which PIN did you forget? Was it for the SIM or phone?
hi everyone, i have an E6833 running on 32.4.A.0.160
i received my phone today it was at maintenance service, so i came back and installed twrp on it (no root)
after restarting i got an update message 32.4.A.1.54 from system
the quistion is: can i install this update with an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery installed?
if no can i uninstall the twrp and install the update?+(how?)
if no again, what should i do?
thx
your best bet is to make a full backup.
Move the backup to your pc.
Download the update using Flashtool 0.9.23.2
install firmware after downloading ( exclude all .TA files in the lower window)
If you are going from stock rom to this update its possible to flash without wiping user data to keep your apps / data intact.
Fast boot a Recovery like TWRP
then reboot to recovery and flash a custom kernel. like PDesires YandereCore.
reboot and enjoy.
This is basically what I did for the current update on my E6853
Hit thanks if I've helped you.

its possible flash tool is not set to look in the correct folder.
Make sure you select Flash (not fastboot)
then make sure the location is C:\Users\*your profile name*\.flashTool\firmwares
after Flashtool downloads a firmware it auto extracts the firmware files.
so you only need to select the device (after its been set to Flash mode (Flash tool will direct you)
use the arrows next device tree, and go to the bottom arrow til you get your firmware.
I've made note of the Exclude TA files to tick all of these. to remove the TA files from your flash.
Make sure too. that you are using a USB 2 port. USB 3 ports have been giving errors with the current drivers on some systems
