I don't see why not, I prefer to do it myself but the feature of rooting is within the tool kit so you can give it a go!

I think I'm going to just boot TWRP and skip actually installing TWRP at this time. I'll probably use the latest SR 5 for root. Otherwise, steps 1-3 look like what I'm planning on doing to root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
Simply
1- unlock bootloader
2- install TWRP
3- Flash root zip file from TWRP
yeah i was trying to root first lol my bad thank you for your support. one more question though after installing ex kernel 1.00 it boots back to recovery every time i tell it to boot to system. is that a compatibility issue?
I'm having a issue, when I put the commas for some reason it just tell me it can't me loaded ,invalid argument...im trying to do it like this video but not success...https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MDddSaptTok

Needs to be capital C. It's case sensitive.
Where is your twrp IMG file located on your computer?
Because I'm guessing it's NOT at the root of your C drive.
Yeah wish there was a full tutorial. I'm pretty rusty. Haven't rooted in 3 years.

You don't have the right name of the IMG in the command line. Type "fastboot boot" without quotes and press space, then drag the IMG into the command line and press enter. You should boot into TWRP no problem
Okay, put the twrp IMG into the same folder where your fastboot is located.
Then shift-right click anywhere in that folder and select the option to open a command prompt from there.
Then type "fastboot boot twr" and after you type twr, just press the "tab" key to auto-complete the rest of the filename.
Then press enter.
OK I GOT A workaround using the support toolkit Now my problem is I transfered over the superuser.zip file with the permanent twrp file....but I can't find it all all when i do a temporary trwp boot...all i see file with bunch of letter and numbers...for some reason I can't see those file in twrp...i boot the .img file using skipsoft toolkit but tried various way for me to flash the recovery permanently and the root file but no luck...this been getting more tuff over the years I remember when I had a s3 ,it was easy Now is a bunch of steps
Anyways I hope Ya can help me figure this out I'm frustrated with this already

Yep it is simple with the toolkit, used it for mine, super easy.
Just make sure you take your time and read what the toolkit is telling you, because it shows you the order in which things need to happen

Yep in the toolkit, it downloads all you need, all you system images, root packages (the latest), it auto boots your phone when it needs to get into ADB or fastboot, as per my comment above, just follow what it tells you in each window. It is so noob proof, I had no problem using when coming from Sony phones where the methods couldn't be more different and complicated

i just wonder is there any ODIN software version that can flash the new JB update. here's my phone information :
BASEBAND : I9250XXLA2 , BUILD NUMBER: IMM76K.19250XWLD2.Android version: 4.0.4 . I used to go to www.sammobile.com for samsung firmware update and flash using ODIN for my previous android galaxy phone, but i cant find any version of ODIN that works to flash the JB. anybody have the answer? thanks in advance.
No one has packaged it up for Odin yet, because there hasn't been a need. We have a Nexus device, which means that we can use fastboot, which is just as easy as Odin, but safer than Odin.

Like Efrant said, use Fastboot. Don't mess with Odin there's no need.
thanks..how safe is using fastboot? does it involve command prompt? because im really not good at that. can you give me link and simplify info so i may use that method to update my nexus. thanks in advance

Follow the steps in the "flash" link in my signature to flash takju imm76i, then follow the steps in the update" link to go to 4.1.1 from 4.0.4.
It may seem complicated, but it is really not.
I don't recommend using a toolkit -- you won't likely learn anything at all.

thanks guys. i will try to use the command line 1st. and if its too confusing,i will use the toolkit. so i have to root my nexus 1st and install custom boot recovery? which means the download mode will be replaced by other custom boot recovery? if i do that, will my phone receive OTA via google next time? or do i have to recover back to its original state? im so noob at this..
thanks efrant i have click link given. it really helped. i will follow the steps. i would press 1000x thanks button for both of you guys but it seems that i can't..lol

fastboot is the standard way of flashing for Nexus devices, it can be considered safer than ODIN, the instruction is in the sticky of this Q&A section.

Open the folder, right-click in the folder and select "Open Command Prompt Here" or what ever it is. Or just go to Start->Run and type cmd.exe in the box. Then navigate to your directory by typing cd name-of-directory. For example, if your files are in C:\junk, type cd junk
The prompt should then be C:\junk

When you are booted into bootloader but a "fastboot devices" does not list your device, it's almost always caused by having installed either no driver at all or the wrong one. Use the naked driver, follow the link in my signature to find it.

What you see is the stock recovery. Android will flash it back automatically even after you've flashed a custom recovery. To prevent this, you must either rename/delete /etc/install-recovery.sh OR rename/delete /system/recovery-from-boot.p.
LTE radios are in the factory images. Read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895

Navigate to the folder /etc with a file manager. Remount with RW rights (root explorer has a convenient button for this) and rename the file install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.sh.bak.
Then reflash a custom recovery. This time it will stick.

Q1.*How do I root my device? ***IF THIS HELPS YOU HIT THE THANKS BUTTON!! ITS LITERALLY ONE CLICK!***
Step 1: Download this file.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/pr70fitqpq9c4l6/Huawei-Fusion-2-Recovery-Root.zip
Step 2 ut the Huawei Fusion 2 Recovery Root.zip on your desktop.
Step 3 : Download and install "Huawei Fusion 2 U8665 ADB drivers.rar" from here (password is xda-developers.com)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/z70julkgz1c9hss/Huawei-Fusion2-U8665-adb-drivers.rar
Install by opening .rar and running "DriverSetup.exe".
Step 4 :Make a folder called "Huawei Fusion 2" on your desktop.
Step 5 :Extract Zip from step 2 into your fusion 2 folder.
Step 6 :Turn off phone.
Step 7 :Reboot fastboot by holding Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for 10-20 seconds.
(It will freeze at ATT logo. This is fastboot, it's a freeze to be happy about)
Step 8 :Connect phone to computer.
Step 9 : Open the folder you made and open the extracted zip (if you haven't extracted do this now)
Step 10 : Double click "Run Me"
Step 11 :Type "fastboot devices" and hit enter this will confirm if you are connected via fastboot (you are) if your connected it will list some numbers and letters and the words fastboot next to the numbers and letters.
Step 12 :Now flash modified recovery by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.superrecovery.img" into the "run me" window and hitting enter.
Step 13 :Unplug after the process runs says finished. And gives you the total time.
Step 14 :Remove back of phone and take out battery for 10-15 seconds.
Step 15 :Reinsert battery hold volume up and power button simultaneously until it boots into recovery (15-20 seconds of holding both buttons)
Step 16 :Reboot Device by selecting the "reboot device" option with the volume buttons (it should already start with reboot highlighted) so just press the power button to reboot.
Step 17 :Grab a beer and relax as your device reboots with SuperSU (main root app)!

Hi,
I was able to install the CWM recovery of Y201 from the below forum on the Fusion 2 using the fastboot flashing recovery steps for Fusion2. ":/fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" with the Y201 recovery file saved in the same folder.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35908322
even tho the Y201 recovery is little slower on the Fusion2, I was able to backup the rom, install new custom roms of Y200 and restore the original carrier rom.
The y200 roms I installed and successfully booted into fusion 2 were:
1) CleanBaseRom#5.zip (same as carrier rom with out most of att junk)
2)ICS_OS_20130203.zip (same as carrier rom with ICS theme, had problem with gallery and screen would not turn on from sleep)
Didnt see much difference so restored the carrier rom back.
Hopefully this helps

I am trying to install twrp 2.6.3.0 using a one click method that I found to work for others. I am rooted and it appears everything should work but I keep getting this blinking prompt and the process does not move any further. In all the directions it says to just follow the multiple prompts but I can't seem to get past this. Does anyone know what this means or what I could be doing wrong? Anyone else hit the same speed bump?

That is an adb shell running under superuser on your tablet. There may be some script it wants you to run on the tablet. I personally am using CWM so I don't know all that much about TWRP (I didn't even put CWM on mine, I had a friend come over and help with that). So I know what that is but not why you have it or what you should do with it. Sorry.

Why install 2.6.3.0? If you look at the thread in the Original Android Development subforum, there are easy instructions for installing TWRP 2.6.3.2 using the Flashify app. Why not try that?

Because nobody reads anything anymore. They just piecemeal together instructions from other devices and what they think will work and then cry and complain when it doesn't when they didn't follow instructions in the first place.
I will admit I did work all day and picked the v500 up the same day and just wanted to go home and have it just gel. Stayed up really late trying to put pieces together but for people unfamiliar with command prompts and such the "easy" methods can just come off as foreign. I used this post as a last resort. I appreciate people who create one click methods but if it wasn't for newbs then what would be the point of them at all? A guy has to start somewhere and learn as he goes.

I'm not sure what you want at this point. Did you go to the TWRP thread in the Original Android Development subforum? If so, find the link for TWRP 2.6.3.2 and download it to your PC. Move the file to your G Pad. Download the Flashify app from the Play Store. Open the app, and navigate to "Flash Recovery". Navigate to the file that you downloaded and flash it. That's it. And if you have more questions, ask them in the TWRP thread.
P.S., before you make any other significant changes to your device, please read through the forum. You'll save yourself some serious future pain.
Wow so much easier! Thanks a lot man. Note to self: dont try to do this stuff at 3am, save it for the daytime ha.

Get Flashify and install it . http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349847.
Then go here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2551499.
Download the apropriate file ( V50010a /b /c , depending of what version you have on you tab ) then you will have to rename the file to TWRP.img , then download http://goo.gl/UlPy11 wich is the flashable TWRP.ZIP.
Now copy those two files for you SD or externalSD.
Run flashify and select Recovery Image and use the file you renamed to TWRP.img and flash it,don´t reboot yet, select ZIP File and flash v500-TWRP_2.6.3.1-recovery.zip , wich the flashable zip you´ve downloaded second.
Now reboot and you should have your recovery.

I was having the same issue with the flashed TWRP hanging, when I rebooted I'd get:
Fastboot mode started
udc.start()
I followed your instructions exactly, and still no luck -- same reboot error. Any other ideas, or should I try the adb method instead?
thanks!

I've got the same issue. Is there any way to get this done
I have version v500d20. The twrp.lok mentioned in the threads are only for versions v500a10 b,c,e. So no d and no 20. Could this be the problem?

Have you tried just flashing the latest N factory image or are you trying to retain data and such?
I'd wipe data just to be safe

On Verizon you cannot flash the latest public image. The bootloader is too old coming from Android O

I guess wugz is a toolkit right? I'm not sure why you'd need to use anything other than the bootloader menu to flash a factory image. Extract the image you want, in bl menu (on the computer) just type flash-all if you're on Windows, walk away when it starts and come back in 10 minutes. Done.

That's what I was thinking. And the fact that a full wipe is desired makes it even easier.
Yes wugz is a root toolkit but it also let's you restore your phone with whatever version of Android you want, and also downloads the image for you. I haven't tried doing it through the bootloader

Are you familiar with flashing Google factory images? If not, @CZ Eddie has a nice tutorial in the guides sub-forum.
I do that through ADB right?

No, you do it while in the bootloader menu from the computer. You just need to make sure your device is recognized in bootloader mode on the computer with the command fastboot devices. It should show up. Then flash to your hearts content. Just download and extract the correct image to the correct folder on the computer.
Ok I'll give it a shot

i'm not having any luck with adb. It doesn't show my device in fastboot OR recovery. When the phone is booted up, adb works fine. Can I just put the image zip on the phone and install through revovery?

No I think you should properly learn how to use fastboot and adb before continuing any further.
What fastboot version are you currently using.
What output do you get when you type fastboot devices with your device in the bl menu. Let's figure out you're fastboot issues first and then worry about flashing the image(which will be the easy part).

Wise words. Not replying to the OP so hopefully he reads down a bit. It looks like his drivers are not working, i.e. the fastboot ones since he can adb. If he's on Windows then device manager should show an exclamation mark or unknown device. There is a fastboot installation, let me take a look see if I can find it. Ok here ya go. https://www.androidusbdrivers.com/google-pixel-usb-drivers/ I actually didn't need to do that exact procedure but I've been fastbooting for some time.
To the OP. You need to get 'fastboot devices' command to show your device when connected via usb to your computer and in bootloader mode. Once it sees the device the rest is child's play.

I can get the phone to show on the computer in adb when the phone is booted up, but it won't show while in fastboot. I use the same command 'adb devices' when the phone is booted up and also in fastboot. I looked through my device manager and there's no exclamation points anywhere on both computers that I've tried

You need to type "fastboot devices" when in the bootloader.
Ok I'll give it a shot later tonight
